THE BIG: Located on almost the tip top of Bald Peak. This is a Korean-American owned winery that is making some wonderful wines. Plenty of parking in the lot out front. THE BLACK AND WHITE: The wife and I were running late but we called and they were still able to accomodate us. Fortunately, the winery wasn't too busy and we were able to be seated. We wanted inside because it was too hot (even though we're from Texas). I got a wine tasting that had a chardonnay, rose, pinot noir and a syrah. The pinot was delicious as well as the chardonnay. The syrah was a colder climate syrah and was also very nice as well. Views were great here and you can tell how high up you are just overlooking the valley. THE FINAL BAMBOO: Ultimately we spent around $130 for three bottles of wine. With a minimum purchase of two bottles, you get a tasting comp'ed. Overall, great wines and a nice view to go.

I LOVED my experience at Cho Wines. I made a reservation for 1 tasting and 2 guests online, but was running late. They were nice to still accommodate 30 minutes behind! Cho Wines is owned and operated by the Cho Family - First Korean-American Winemaker in Oregon. Their care and styles of wine making is very unique and I'm excited to see what else they come with. As of now, they source their grapes from Laurel (volcanic soil & high elevation), but they are hoping to get their first estate grapes in the next year or two. Lois Cho was working that day, and she was so kind to share their story, how each wine was made, and even asked what we do in Austin! The tasting experience felt relaxed and homey. Since I couldn't drink alcohol, they also offered yummy NA options (like an asian pear drink). My favorites to taste were the Pet-Nat Rose and the Syrah. We ended up purchasing 3 bottles with the tasting fee waived. On top of the incredible experience, CHO wines has a gorgeous view from a top of the hill. Highly recommend stopping by!

    A view from the top.

CHO is my absolute favorite winery in the valley (big considering there are more than 700 in the region). Dave and Lois Cho have created a place where all are welcome--from wine newbies to "experts"--to enjoy a fantastic array of wines. On our latest visit, the Cho's had invited another winery to come sample its juice to the gathering, what they call "Friends with Benefits." How cool is that! Great wines, fun staff, a nice chill vibe and stunning views makes Cho a very special place to spend a couple of hours. Do yourself a favor and reserve your tasting experience soon!

First things first, super cute, very friendly , and would absolutely go back in a heartbeat. I had wanted to try CHO Wines for some time but was finally able to swing by with a friend who was visiting! woohoo~ It was fairly easy to make a reservation online and the estate tasting is $40 for 6 wines with the reserve tasting being $75. We opted for the estate and were able to get our desired time on a weekend without any issues -- reserved about one week in advance. The drive there is pretty beautiful and the tasting room itself is perched above the hills with a great view. We went on a rainy, cloudy day but the sun did peek out and clear up for us to see out into the distance. Even with the clouds, it was still an idyllic little spot so I wouldn't fret too much if it is the typical PNW rainy weather. The wines were all delicious and the chillable red was such a nice little mixture (pinot gris meets pinot noir) -- tempted me into a bottle which I am sure I will enjoy later~ No qualms there. Service was super friendly and I really appreciated the information provided about each pour. It was informative without being too cumbersome. I also love that they give a little bowl of Korean snacks to have with your wine; and additionally there is the option of a pretty nice looking charcuterie board to enjoy if you want a little more to snack on. All in all, this was a great wine tasting experience and I'm planning a trip back asap. Excited to see what else the produce and do in the future!

My husband & I attended the Harvest Kickoff Party (Saturday at 1pm). I purchased tickets online and preordered food from the Doyaji Food Truck. Upon arrival we were promptly greeted by friendly smiling faces, from both the staff and the owners. We checked in, got our wristbands and food tickets and went straight inside to grab our first taste of the 2023 CHO Bubbles. Then we went over to the food vendor to hand over our ticket and we were given a number and a member of the staff helped us find a table in the shade (it was a very hot day). Shortly after we got settled at our table our food arrived and omg it was so good - the pork belly with griddled onions, purple rice, kimchi, and pickled daikon - paired nicely with the 2023 WV Chardonnay. After we finished eating we went inside to try the 2023 Chillable Red which was light and refreshing especially since it was such a hot day. Our last tasting was of the 2022 Dreamer's Pinot Noir, which was good. Oregon Pinots are my absolute fave. But of the wines we tried, we decided to take home a bottle of the Chillable red. I can't quite put my feelings into words but this winery is just vibey, in all the ways that other places just aren't. We immediately felt like we belonged here. IYKYK. Overall, the wine, the food, the views, the community, all made for an incredible experience. And with this winery being located so close to home, it will make it very easy to return. We are seriously considering becoming members so we can have priority access to their monthly event series.

I'm sorry it took so long to write this review after my amazing tasting experience, I am still reliving it and telling everyone about it!! This is a gorgeous space with beautiful modern designs but still has such a homey feel. This is entirely due to the intentional and thoughtful design by the owners, specifically Lois who facilitated our tasting. She truly made this a fun, elevated, and wonderful experience! Bonus that they are family and kid friendly with toys and applesauce and small water for my toddler. This first time mom appreciates this so much! Aside from the gorgeous place, inside and outside, the Cho family story is inspirational and you can't help but want to root for their success! Their wines really speak for themselves as well. Starting with their sparkling bubbly to the darker Syrah to round off, everything goes perfectly with the crunchy rice snacks and the charcuterie board (this was extra). Everything was fragrant and delicious, but my personal favorite was the chillable red!! What a novel concept! You can tell the love, sweat, and effort this family and all their staff have put into every single display and interaction at this winery and tasting room. Please come support them!

Lovely winery with spectacular views of Hillsboro Oregon. Dave and Lois Cho, a husband and wife team have turned their passion of wine into a lucrative business, and it shows. Their tasting room is gorgeous and one that should be on the list to check out.

This review is way overdue! I had this draft saved and somehow life got in the way. Good thing is, this day was really memorable because I took my sister here who was visiting from California and it was also her birthday! We did not have reservations but they kindly accommodated us despite their full reservations. They asked to move us about two times from outdoors to indoors, but nonetheless it all worked out. We definitely loved the view this day as it overlooked the Willamette Valley. The wine, the food, the ambience was all a remarkable experience. I think my Sis and I both really liked their Rose City Rosé that day. Dave and Lois Cho were very warm and personable, making sure we felt welcomed and that our experience was enjoyable. Will definitely be back again!

Come for the wine (it's the first Korean American winery in Oregon!!), stay for the views (and snacks), return for the friendly atmosphere (and more wine). Fun weekend wine stop #2 with friends. Great team spending time talking with us and sharing more about their journey.

The first Korean-American winery in the United States and it is set in a beautiful tasting room in Willamette Valley! Cheers to that. You can get wines by the glass or do one of two tastings. The Reserve Tasting is $75 while the Estate Tasting is $40. You get six tastings for each tasting, a bubbly as a welcome drink, and a nostalgic Korean snack. Our tasting guide was wonderful and took us through each tasting as well as the history of the winery established by Dave Cho and is still in the very early stages of growing grapes. Happy to support. Happy drinking and remember: Don't deny, satisfy!

Wowzer new tasting room build out is GORGEOUS!!! Such a great vibe, modern, fancy with so much personal touch it's both inviting and welcoming!! Hubby and wife...David and Lois are first Korean wine makers here in Oregon and Amazing human beings!!! Oh by the way ...Amazing wine to boot!! Please go and support this family owned and operated winery!!!

We have been watching them build the tasting room for ages while we headed over the hill to other wineries. The weather was lovely so we decided to drop in. It's super cute! Lots of great details. They offer two different flights: Estate tasting for $40 and the Reserve tasting for $75. We decided to get one of each and share them. Lots of varietals and unique pours (chillable red, what?!?). Can't wait to see what they do when they can use their own grapes! The owners were walking around pouring and all the employees were very friendly and knowledgeable. We will be back!

Highly recommend because of the relaxed atmosphere...art adorns the tasting room for purchase...and the backstory to that caught my attention. All of the artists paintings have a life story. But on to the wines! Our party enjoyed the Rosé of Gamay Noir...sunshine in a bottle! Elegant & delicious...definitely as the French say "Yummy". The 2023 Aligoté ohhh man... *sighs* I can still recall how this could be the winner for crab cakes or seafood. They are among a hand few of estates that produce this in Oregon. We were fortunate enough to taste the Sauvignon Blanc that is grown lower in the vineyard. John, the passionate proprietor, described how this was unique to Oregon and it is. He described how the location of the vines receive a warmer growing climate...and it was evident as we toured. The Savignon Blanc was unlike anything...I lived in New Zealand, and I appreciate Sancerre ...their Savignon Blanc crossed that bridge with bliss to my taste buds. Worth it!!! The Chardonnay was exceptional as well... I believe the 90 plus scores from wine writers and critics...it was paired with Seasonal Salad with PNW Salmon Arugula, radicchio, shaved cabbage, green leaf lettuce, cherry tomatoes, radish, and hazelnuts with green goddess dressing...just enough acid and just enough fruit, wonderful balance. You be the judge! Onto the Pinot Noir... Paired with four month aged Beemster goat cheese. It was a 2021 that shined. Just enough body like Sophia Loren, just enough depth like a podcast you want to listen to again and again. Captured my palette for sure. Next it was the Gamay Noir...not sure how you wine folks like Gamay or have had experiences with per se...their Gamay Noir is svelte... it's like you're a kid and... it's your first dance...it's delicate and light...it has sensibility...harmony... a perfect dancing partner... Make a reservation and explore this unique place. What makes Oregon wine country unique are the people and the way they farm. Hats off to Balsall Creek! Will be back!

The experience gained in these early years led us to the creation of our brand de Lancellotti Family Vineyards in 2005. The beginning years opened our eyes to biodynamic farming- a holistic practice of farming used for generations in the premiere vineyards around the world, but one that is largely misunderstood until you have spent a lifetime in vineyards.
