My husband And I went to the Montinore Estate winery on a Sunday early afternoon. We found it on accident after having to pull over to attempt to make some phone calls. After plans going haywire we decided to explore and see if the winery had any open tables. They're only doing glasses and full bottles. We got a bottle of a chardonnay. We brought our own picnic lunch and enjoyed that with our wine at our own picnic table. The tables were covered with pop ups and spaced nicely apart. After enjoying some wine we got some bubbly and rose to go. The attendants were really nice and friendly during our stay there.

We attended the Annual Grape Stomp at the Montinore Estate! Such a fun event, my husband and I got to taste some great wine, sip on a bottle of Vivace (sparkling wine) that we purchased, compete in the grape stomp, take a hay ride along the vineyards, and relax in nature enjoying some live music and cool food truck options! Surprised we left without signing up for a membership, but now contemplating! We will be back, especially since it's only 30 mins from Hillsboro!!

Montinore is really one of the best around. As a wine club member I went on my annual tour of the winery. The history of the land and the area is really quite interesting. You can get all kinds of great information from the tasting room staff, who is always friendly and hospitable. The tour really brings you into another layer of the winery, though. Helps you honestly feel like part of the family. The wines are great. They have something for everyone I think. The sparkling is very good. Love their different Pinot varieties, and they have some awesome Italian grapes as well for flair. I recommend a visit!

Made a stop (while on a roadtrip) here based on a recommendation from a friend. So glad we stopped!! Christopher was very pleasant and knowledgeable. You can't beat $10 for a 6 flight tasting! And the wines were amazing! We left with a few bottles. We had such a great time visiting Montinore. Thanks!!

Their reds are okay and their whites are better. The wine I like the most is the pinot noir rose.

This is one vineyard that's a short drive, and not very difficult to get to for being located in Cornelius. No long and windy roads is what I'm implying. An easy vineyard you can show out-of-town guest what Oregon wines are all about. I feel this would be a quick treat for them. Even after work, just to relax with a glass and charcuterie board, we've been here! ~ The Views (or a view) ~ If you've seen the yelp pics on the views, then that's exactly all you'll get. You can chill inside for a tasting or out on the patio while enjoying an excellent view of the vineyard. On a clear sunny day, you can see Mt Hood in the background. Down below the patio, at vineyard-level, there are a few wooden beach chairs and picnic tables as well. It's relaxing wherever you choose really, to say the least. ~ Reds, Whites, and You ~ If you're looking for a white chard that's not too sweet, then this is your place! Their wines are simple enough to enjoy. I don't recall having a bad pour. But like practically every vineyard in Oregon, they too serve pinot noirs. I personally have more of an earthy pallet, so I do not have a taste for pinot gris or rieslings, but theirs I did admire. You'll have to try them for yourself. Again, I believe all their variations can satisfy anyone's pallet. ~ Owners, Staff, and Service ~ At one of the member events, we did get the opportunity to meet the owners, and their pup. All of them really down-to-earth people in my opinion. But I would like to give credit to Mach and Melissa as well. These two hustle! Not for you to just purchase their wines and join the club, but they're attentive on what you'd be interested in. Thank your Mach and Melissa for your generous and friendly hospitality. We've had questions, they've had answers. This little winery just gives you everything you'd expect from a winery. Case and point!

My usual M.O. with sake is a small, hot carafe when I have sushi. But my experience here has made me rethink this incredible beverage. I opted for the Daiginjo flight, which I highly recommend. Daiginjo is the best form of sake, with the process polishing down the rice grain to 50% or less of its original volume. The ones I had ranged from 40% to 50%. I'm not sure exactly what this does, but I can sure tell you, it makes a massive difference in the smoothness and taste. The first 3 sakes in the sampler are from Japan; the last is their exclusive sake made right in Forest Grove. Here's my take on the sakes I had: The Murai Family was aromatic and slightly floral. The Hakutsuru: smooth, slight fruitiness, subtle, with an interesting aftertaste on the back sides of my tongue. The Yoshi No Gawa was smoother with a slight tang at the back of my tongue. And last but not least, the in-house Nagata had a nice balance of bold, silky, and fruity/floral. I even admired its "legs" as I did a swirl to see viscosity. After the flight, I decided on a cocktail, the Blackberry Lime Martini. Tart, sweet, deliciousness. When I left, I bought a bottle of Sho-Une, which didn't break the bank, but is supposed to be great for the price point. I'm saving it for a special occasion. I'm looking forward to visiting this fine establishment again.

Both locations are very beautiful and all I can say is you actually need to visit both! This winery is military based, and although we are not military, we love what this place is founded on and what they support. The forest Grove location is a cute little hole in the wall winery and I believe you can sit outside as well. It is in the heart of downtown Forest Grove so everything is in walking distance! The old Highway 47 location is perched up on a hill just down the road from Henry Haag Lake and if you look closely, you can see, Helens and one other mountain. You sit back relax look over the vineyards and if you're lucky there might be somebody playing some live music. They also have seating options for inside the highway location, which has AC and heat depending on the weather. You should definitely try out dauntless wine! You won't regret it.
