An empty glass waiting to be filled with delicious wines!

We LOVED Sarah! This was a very special tasting experience with three of us. We booked ahead and also ordered a cheese board. We loved learning about the biodynamics and science behind each of the delicious pours. We took the Chardonnay home to savor this experience a little bit longer. Cheers! Would love to return.

Had such a nice time at Cooper Mountain Vineyard. Rebecca was so welcoming and spent a lot of time explaining the different types of wine we tasted. We saw a sweet chicken and a couple of sheep who are on the grounds. The neighborhood surrounding it is gorgeous!

Apparently, with wineries, I'm either a 1 star or a 5 star gal. Cooper Mountain (Oregon's Orgainic & Biodynamic Winery) gets five stars for being five minutes from the front door of my house and for having some freakin' awesome wine. Been there 2 times now and have yet to be disappointed by the people or the wine. Oh how I wish I had $60 to drop on the balsamic...WOW!

Yes really. That is how much they pour wine.

Nice ambience - especially if you sit outside. This is a nice place to have wine and visit with friends.

Seated upstairs so felt bad the waitress had to go up and down many many times. The empanadas were awful. I am being extremely honest. It seemed as if they were pre frozen and lacked flavor and filling. We were so surprised at the quality and price. I also had the shnitzel and it had no seasoning and was so bland. With a sad excuse for chimichurri. That seemed haphazardly put together, again lacking any flavor. Was it an off day based on the amount of people raving? Maybe. But also maybe they aren't aware of the better options in Portland so lack the awareness of true potential in this cuisine. I recommend Lechón if you want real chimichurri and empanadas.

We tried four empanadas (chorizo, pollo spicy, humita, and imposter) along with an order of papas, and that was more than enough for the two of us. Each empanada had a wonderfully flaky, golden crust. The fillings were flavorful and distinct; the only one that didn't quite win us over was the imposter, though that's probably just a matter of taste. The papas were crisp and perfectly seasoned too. Service could have been a touch more attentive, especially given the place wasn't too busy, but overall, it's a lovely new addition to the neighborhood -- cozy, tasty, and full of potential.

Dear greatest Hamacher, what a wonderful & delightful time I had at your facility lol!…read more I visited this winery over a month ago and I've still managed to talk about it at least 2X a week since. This was my first time at a vineyard and what a FANTASTIC time it was. The sommelier there was beyond amazing (I didn't catch his name silly me), the customer service was top tier and the property is beautiful! The sommelier was extremely attentive, exceedingly knowledgeable, eager to teach and I haven't been so pleased with a service before in my entire life. They allowed us to lounge around in between our wine tasting to walk the property, take pictures (both indoors and outdoors), even introduced me to some new snacks I hadn't tried (miso/caramel rice crispy I am indeed thinking of you) Man, where do I even begin. We decided to end our Oregon trip with this winery, that we actually found the previous day. We took an uber which was fairly cheap from downtown Portland and although the trek into the property was a bit sketchy, where else was I expecting a vineyard to be located lol. Upon arrival we were greeted and chose our seats. There were two types of wine tastings on the menu. One was of their seasonal wines and the other was one they would curate towards your liking in terms of what your enjoyed, we're looking to try, or what you were open to. And would you guess? We did BOTH options haha During this wine tasting, I have found my FAVORITE wine this far, which was actually ironic because they released the wine for the first time JUST the day prior, talk about perfect timing ehh. I have been pushing off ordering the wine, but will soon! The one I fell in love with is the Pinot Blanc by LERZI- it's a young wine, but the flavor is bold, fresh and sweet. It was honestly amazing and is the only wine I could care to even have in my collection lol The sommelier- what an awesome guy with amazing social skills! Took the time to explain wine history to us, explained the concept behind each wine we tried (that's 9 different wines we tried in total people), even how certain wines came about, how each were made and the history of certain wine regions and how the grapes there are produced. There was a reservation for the "vault" I'll call it, but it's just a separate tasting room. He told me there was a group coming and still let me go and run to take some pictures before they arrived. Which was perfect, because it is absolutely stunning! (I am not sure how many pictures I will be uploading for this place, but know that it is many haha). You know how first experiences mean a lot and are just a well held memory? I had such a wonderful time at this vineyard I am not sure how others will compare. Every single aspect tasted, experienced and saw here was absolutely amazing. Although we spent time here before heading to the airport, this experience def made the trip. Mostly, how welcoming everyone was! That is always something that sticks to ya! We visited mid-afternoon on a Monday and though there were people in and out, we felt like we had the place to ourselves lol! It was cozy, peaceful and quiet, even when others were there. It was very comfortable and felt like I could literally stay there all day. Being able to walk around the property while drinking wine, going to get your other glass and continue taking pictures was great. There was this essence of trust for us to be able to walk around and explore. That felt lighthearted and ofc added to the experience as well I look forward to visiting this winery again and it def made Oregon a place for me that I would love to double back on. I'll stop here, this review was long enough. I enjoyed myself thoroughly- and that surprised me the most.

Unfortunately, it turned out to be quite disappointing. While some members of our group were doing the wine tasting, the rest of us were not allowed to order wine and had to wait until the tasting was finished. It didn't make sense that we couldn't simply enjoy a glass of wine while waiting. It was quite cold outside, so we asked if we could move indoors. We were told that the indoor tables were reserved, and instead we were offered blankets. Although we appreciated the gesture, it wasn't a comfortable solution given the weather. We had booked the 2:00 p.m. reservation (the online booking only offered 2:00 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. time slots), but by 3:00 p.m. our tasting had to be wrapped up. If reservations are limited to one hour, that should be made much clearer during the booking process. To make matters worse, the wine we were most looking forward to tasting was never served. It was only after we asked about it that we were told it had sold out. This is something that should have been communicated before the tasting began, not after we noticed it was missing. We came a long way hoping to share a special winery experience with my parents, but poor communication and the way the experience was managed made the visit far less enjoyable than we had expected. I hope the winery improves its communication and reservation process so future guests have a better experience.

This property is off the beaten path, but well signed and you have to know in advance that this location is at the end of Dick Road (so keep going). I had looked it up on the map and noticed that fact so I knew that at the end of the road there would be the vineyard. We pulled up to a house but it had various golf carts and other implements around so it appeared that no one resided there. The sign on the front door said join us outside on the patio just down the stairs. So, we followed down the stairs (I'm not sure what you do if you cannot do stairs--it looks like you maybe able to pull around on another side but I'm not clear on that) I would probably call first if I had any kind of mobility issues. We walked a little ways and saw a lighted room and so we went inside. Turns out this is the bathroom and not where they were wine tasting. We kept walking through the patio and there was no one in site. Finally, we spotted a large tent that was put up and the tasting area was set up there. We walked in and were casually greeted by a young girl who proceeded to tell us what they were out of and wanted to know if we wanted to taste a wine. I said that we had a coupon for the lunch basket and she wanted the info off of that and she would go and make it up. She then took off to go do that leaving us huddled on some damp chairs under the tent with another couple. It was about 48 degrees under the tent and they had heaters for the outdoors but they weren't lit. The YS and I were beginning to think we should get the food to go and forget the wine. Then the owner Melinda came out and asked if we wanted to taste a wine and proceeded to tell us a bit about them and we decided to split a tasting. She told us about how their vineyard as well as their farm acreage (they have about 70 acres). While we were talking the girl brought out the food and set it down not saying anything to anyone. I later asked Melinda if that was for us and she said yes. Melinda also quickly lit the heaters when she got out there she said that her helper (the girl from earlier) didn't know how to do it. I think the girl needs some training as she's doing a great business a real disservice. We ended up eating our lunch which was very tasty and bought a bottle of wine to enjoy with our lunch as well as two bottles to take home. I will say that our first impression was not a great one based on the girl and her demeanor we were going to eat and leave. Melinda is very friendly and customer service oriented. I will definitely be back again. If we didn't have two wine club memberships already we would have joined theirs as they have fun events with the wine pick ups as well as other events open to the general public. Beautiful setting, I would highly recommend.
