I had passed this place numerous times. I finally decided to try it for a simple, clear-polish manicure early on a recent weekday. I was not impressed at all. The place is run-down, with chipped paint and scuffed manicure chairs. The woman who did my nails seemed to be elsewhere mentally, and hurt me several times when she PULLED at my cuticles with her cuticle scissors. The manicure was done quickly, with the hand massage lasting about 15 seconds. No neck massage here. And, the tab was @15.00 plus tax. I just wanted to get out of there. Will be walking down to 5th Avenue to one of the several nail salons who offer cheaper, friendlier, and better manicures. read more

Unfortunately, the quality of this salon has gone downhill. The manicurist had an attitude because I pointed out a bubble (second) in my nail polish. She responded (annoyed) that it was like that because I didn't cut my cuticles (both bubbles were passed the cuticles and on the nails). She removed the bubble, but she didn't apply the top coat on the nail polish. Unpleasant experience, very disappointed. read more

This place used to be so great, but it's been under new management over the past couple of years, and it has really gone downhill. Today I got a gel manicure that did not cure, and I was told that it was my fault because I put on my coat! That is actually not what is supposed to happen with gel. After trying to reason with me that the gel was fine (it was coming off around the edges) I asked them to take off the gel. They still charged me, but for a regular manicure instead of a gel manicure. I didn't have the time/energy to argue the logic behind this, after the manager admitted that the service I got was flawed, so paid it, and said goodbye to them forever. While there aren't many options in the neighborhood, it's not worth the spotty polishing abilities, bad customer service and price ($50 for gel). Miss the old owners and manicurists. read more

Although my gel mani/pedi was $45/$65 respectively, I had a very positive experience. The receptionist was friendly and patient, and the woman who did my mani/pedi was quiet but precise and polite. I am quite introverted and she didn't try to force conversation, which is a huge plus for me. I do think their prices are a little high, I would lower the pricing of a gel mani/pedi to $30/$45 because then I'd go more than once a year. I recommend going on a weekday if you can because I didn't have to wait and I had a lot of personal space. Overall, great service and my nails came out beautifully! read more

Dashing Diva is a refreshingly awesome nail salon. It's very clean, the staff is friendly and professional (not chatting with each other through the whole manicure as some nail salon staff members do), and the girl who did my manicure did an AMAZING job. I have never had someone be so meticulous with my nails before, and I've never been so happy with my nails when I've walked out of a salon. Other pluses: they have tons of options of colors (including OPI oxxium gel), take all tools out of disinfecting bags right before each treatment play relaxing music, and have decent prices. The salon is clean and the staff is friendly. The nail bath was scented with lovely oil, it was all so relaxing. I was offered a cup of tea which is really a nice touch. My technician really scrubbed out my calluses and ended the pedicure with a foot and leg massage. A little shoulder massage was given while the polish dried. My pedicure was awesome! It was a bit pricey for my budget, but well worth the cost. I will go back when I feel the need to pamper myself. Until then I will stick to my hood salon. read more

I used to get waxed at another salon on 7th ave and have had ok to just bad service there. At DD, I've had Angela and she is amazing. She is lightning fast and left me feeling smooth and super clean and didn't leave any yucky wax residue either - so I was able to continue with my day instead of running home to shower. While the semi-circle pedicure baths are really fun for a party (especially a pre-wedding girls' pedi party), for day to day this is just too pricey for the quality. The quality is great, don't get me wrong - they do everything you'd expect a salon manicure to include, like hand massage, exfoliating scrub, scented oil, etc, but you can get something just as nice at Element on 5th Avenue for 2/3 the price. I was also a little disappointed in their Essie color selection - no Sweetie Pie, though know that they are very helpful in finding colors you want in their brochure, and they are willing to special-order colors for you that they will then have on hand, provided you give them two week's notice. read more

I am super fussy when it comes to choosing nail salons based on sanitation, and this place deserves all five stars in this department for sure. Not only do they use totally sterilized tools on each new person, the place also looks immaculate. The technicians are great and I am usually pleased with my manuicure, pedicure, and waxing. In a neighborhood with a bajillion nail salons (which, let's face it, is pretty much every neighborhood) it's worth it for me to pay more to know they take the extra time for this stuff. read more

Every time I go there, I walk out with a great manicure! There aren't that many places that leave me that satisfied. The salon looks beautiful from the outside and inside, they offer Cosmos on Saturdays and Fridays when you're getting your nails done, and they always have soothing tea to warm up your experience. The technicians are very professional, and do a great job with cutting the cuticles (which is super important to me) The salon has a good selection of polish colors, which last a good week. Their pedicures aren't as satisfactory because they're against the whole whirlpool thing, which they claim helps transport bacteria. They're most likely right (obviously if it's not kept clean it could do that) but I really enjoy the bubbly feeling on my feet when I get them pampered. I'm new to Park Slope (and New York City in general), and this Saturday I had nothing to do and wanted to treat myself to a mani-pedi (which is not something I regularly do, I get like maybe 3 per year, so I wouldn't say I'm a nail salon expert by any means). I saw a ton of nail salons on 7th Ave, but why I honestly chose Dashing Diva was because it was so cute and girly and all the bright pink caught my eye (the walls, and basically everything else, are pink!!). Staff was friendly. Great customer service, my technician offered me complementary hot tea and kept refilling it. They take pride in how sanitary the salon is (disposable tools that are new for each customer, an autoclave to sanitize metal tools, no bacteria breeding whirlpool) which made me feel comfortable. I love that the pedicures are done while sitting on a big comfy pink couch instead of a chair. They do a lot of little extras that other nail salons I've been to in the past haven't included (but this is my first mani-pedi in Park Slope so I don't know what's standard in salons in this area) like exfoliating my legs and arms, and massaging with oil scent of choice (I chose lavender!). And my nails looked very nice. I would definitely go back! read more

The manicure I received was poorly done even after I asked them to redo it FOUR times as the gel colors were completely transparent and obviously old. The manicure I finally received was subpar, and with the $80 price tag, I couldn't believe I had just wasted so much time and money on a manicure I could have done better myself. And my GEL nails are now chipping three hours after I got them done. This is completely unacceptable. read more

I used to love this place. They got a new owner and it is horrible. I have given them 3 different chances with the new owner and today is my last. The first time with new ownership I got a spa pedicure and the the person had no clue how to give it to me. I had to tell them every step how to do it. Doesn't exactly make you happy when you are paying $70 + for a pedicure. The second time a called ahead to make sure someone actually knew how to do the pedicure, it was ok. Now today, called ahead again. The girl knew what she was doing, but they made changes to no longer include the foot massage, but when I asked when the change was made or if I could see where that was written, I was told I am the only one who get Jelly pedicures now. When I tried to get my manicure, as I called before coming in, was told there are reservations and I could not get a manicure. Couple other noticeable details, they no longer offer tea or water, they have foot files that are not disposable, god only knows where that has been now, they use a gross plastic thing in the foot bath, the towels are a grey instead of white, and finally everyone who has worked here the last 4 + Years is no longer here. They clearly do not hold up to standard of the other dashing divas throughout the city. So gross, as I was leaving they took off my temporary flip flops, when I realized they save them and reuse. Got a big infection on my toe after the manicurist kept cutting an cutting my cuticle like she was giving me surgery. I told her she was cutting too much and that she was hurting me all she said was that I had too much skin there. Meanwhile I was bleeding. I've been putting antibiotic cream on it for a week. She also did my nails which were nice and long when I walked in. She asked if she could use the clipper to cut them. I told her I wanted them to stay long and that she could cut them a little bit. Meanwhile she cut them down 3/4 of the way. So I was left with very very short nails. I would not go back. read more

As currently a college student I only can go from time to time I was there recently got some services done and a little surprised what it totaled I gave a tip more than financialy able and was insulted by the employee that I didn't give a 20% tip. I responded I'm a college student and not working and can't afford more than I gave. I'm surprised in this day and age with most businesses being Socially responsible that dashing diva doesn't offer discounts for students and try to be more welcoming for the next generation of customers. I just had a mani pedi at Dashing Diva in Park Slope. The atmosphere here is tense, the opposite of what you want in a salon. When I was getting my pedicure, the manicurist, who was unfriendly, hurt me when she was cutting my toenails. No foot massage at all (for a $35 pedicure). When she did my manicure, I had point out to her that she left my nails rough on the tips with jagged edges. I also had to point out hang nails that she left. Overall, this place is expensive, poor basic service and poor customer service. I don't know how they stay in business. read more

$73 for a gel pedicure is absolute robbery. They are going for $40 in Manhattan in the west village. They did absolutely nothing special. No massage nothing. Pedicure took the exact same time as any other one, if not shorter. I am all for treating myself and spending money on pampering myself, but I almost fell over when I heard $73. Please DO NOT waist your time. I have been a ride or die costumer for 6 years now. Service WAS impeccable until the change in ownership. I recently got an awful Gel manicure and pedicure from a New employee Tiffany. During the whole process I had to keep pointing out errors of which she tried to correct by applying more and more globs of polish. After all the frustration I gave up and just left. Four days later my "Gel" polish on my finger nails which usually lasts 3 weeks started to peel. Totally unacceptable after spending $100. I returned and was told by the male manager that they could not do it over but only take the Gel polish off for free. Wait.... but it was your error for giving me someone who does not know what they are doing. My advice is to save your money and avoid this overpriced establishment that lacks good costumer service and quality manicurist and travel a few blocks down on 5th Ave like I have. read more

I went to Dashing Diva for the first time last Friday with a friend. I got out late from work so I had no choice but to come minutes before they take the last customer at 8pm. We were still warmly received by the hostess and quickly seated to get our pedicure/manicure . The salon is pretty cute, with pink accents everywhere, and the high couch where you are seated with toss pillows is sooo comfortable. I love the fact that you are offered a cocktail during your service and also the choice of which oil you will like to use for your foot massage. I picked peppermint and my friend chose lavender which made her ready to fall asleep when they were done. So my only reason for giving this place three stars is for my particular manicurist. She didn't wear a name tag which could have been done on purpose because I surely would have called her out. When my friend and I were pondering nail polish colors, we ask for her opinion and she was not much of help. Just shrugging and not really bothering to offer an opinion. She seemed to have been very short with me. My friend's manicurist, Fanny was excellent and she actually was talking to both of us and being very helpful with choosing colors and offering her opinion about what colors look best. My manicurist must have been ready to leave and was upset that I walked through the door in the last hour. Even when I was talking out loud about different nail designs with my friend, she quickly interjected reminding me that they close at 9pm. I figured since the service from her was not that great I would not provide her a tip. However, she had the AUDACITY to ask me after I paid the bill and was sitting drying my nails...that she was leaving and if I needed change for tip? Obviously if that wasn't given at the payment of the bill there would be NO TIP. I knew it was a gentle reminder to tip her but I was gently reminding her that a tip is COURTESY which she didn't really show at all to me. Then as though that wasn't awkward enough she kept repeating that she was heading out and if I was sure I didn't need change..SURE? HECK YEAH I'M SURE! I thought it was pretty tacky for her to ask the customer that kind of question and lucky for the experience with Fannie and the ambiance of the place, is the only reason why I would be willing to go back here. read more

I can't speak bad about the nail service, although I've never gotten my nails done there, it looks like a good place, however it's true when they say don't go to a sea food restaurant and order steak. I went there for a wax and I have to say it was the WORSE experience I ever had. Perhaps there is only one girl who can do waxing there and she wasn't there that day, so they gave me a very inexperienced woman. She for one was afraid to give me a Brazilian, she might as well have stripped 5 strands of hair at a time, thats how slow she was. Point is stick to the salons that strictly do waxing, there are a couple in the city and its cheaper than Dashing Diva. read more

I'll definitely return. The polish job was a tad off (probably needed 3 coats on fingers...and I did whack my toe and smudged a bit...my bad). But the pedi and mani treatment for just the basic rate was fabulous. I definitely felt pampered. I thought the price was good $45 for m/p considering 1.5 hours and the foot massage, hand massage. I just moved to park slope and I had been looking for a nail place for the past several weeks. I got talked into going to Dashing Diva, even though it is a little pricey. I finally went last week and I have to say, I'm very impressed. By FAR the cleanest nail place I have even been to in NYC, and my technician did a fabulous job...I'm definitely asking for her again. I didn't feel rushed and it was an overall relaxing experience. I even decided to get an eyebrow wax, which was pretty decent. The only downfall is that my manicure polish lasted about 2 days before it started peeling/lifting. Next time, I'm bringing my own Essie polish. But my pedicure still looks perfect. read more

I went to Dashing Diva Salon in Parkslope Brooklyn for my Bday yesterday. I got the all out Diva mani and pedi and I have to say they did a great job. There pretty pricey I paid 100 bucks for the mani and pedi and 4o bucks for the 20 min back massage. My hands and feet feel realy soft and my skin is glowing it was very relaxing but I didnt like the couches I wouldve preffered a nice leather massage seat and I wish I had went on thursday and fri caus eI wouldve got cocktails. The staff here was very friendly and the interior pretty, especially compared to some other no-frills salons I've tried. The woman who did my pedicure was patient while I picked out a color and showed me how each color would look on my toe nails before I decided. My pedicure looked great and has lasted a long time. However, I was torn as to how to rate this place (3 or 4 stars) because although it has a nice interior, it is pricey. I don't know that the decor and quality of pedicure justify the price. I've had other pedicures that lasted just as long at cheaper places with average interiors. So basically, if you are looking for more of a pampering feel for a mani/pedi, with good quality, this is a great place. read more

Dashing Diva is the place to go! I come here to get my bikiini waxing done. I'm very skeptical of new waxers but I'm definetely becoming a regular here! Everything was very sanitary and clean, which is very important to me! The pedicures are really amazing too. The extra 10 minute foot massage tops off the whole experience! The manis and pedis are very relaxing, although the polish is easily chipped. highly recommended. great place to connect with friends! read more
