This restaurant has wonderful menu list. You order from the counter and they will serve you the food. We ordered the Beef Kebab (#5) and chicken kebab (#1). We both enjoyed our food a lot. Presentation of food plates was pretty and serving size is generous too. Our food came with Pita breads and it looks like it was homemade. It's the best I ever tasted and I love that it was crunchy too. You also have choice of sides with your food and we got the green salad and the chickpeas. The salad dressing was really yummy! I ordered this from Uber eats recently and was really pleased. Stellar food. Got the marinated chicken and beef shish kabobs plus chickpeas. The chicken was just perfectly done, well marinated and cooked just the right amount. The beef was pretty good too but the chicken stood out. Of particular note, the white and green sauces that came with out set the dish apart. The white sauce in particular brings a great pop to the dish. The food is good' however, their customer service is below Zero!! when you place order on the phone, pick up or delivery, they make mistakes but no apology if you reach out the managers. For the first time after living in US all my life I noticed a restaurant manager argue with the customer instead of apologizing for the mistake they made in the order. They do not give customer money back & instead says " Next time you come ask for Ali, my name is Ali & I will give you extra food...." . I've ordered their chicken kabob wrap three times and every time, it has been so delicious and messy at the same time. I think this is my favorite chicken sandwich, now. I never thought anything could dethrone the chicken shawarma as my favorite sandwich. Why would anyone waste their money at McDonald's or subway when you can get the food of the heavens for $6.99?? The chunks of chicken are always juicy and large. They always roll out of my pita that gets a bit floppy and soggy. I make it worse by pouring the delicious green sauce in and dipping it in the yogurt sauce. I cannot eat this sandwich without dripping juices all over my hands. As inconvenient as this is, the sandwich is just that good!! And for $6.99 I'm surprised they include a bag of chips. It takes about 10-15 minutes for them to prepare and they are always friendly when I go in to pick it up. I also tried the qabeli platter because qabuli palau was my favorite dish to order at Afghan Kabob in Springfield. Oh man, I did not expect such tender meat and an entire shank! I've done takeout from here before, but last week came for lunch with a friend. They had 3-4 other people, but there was enough seating for all of us without feeling cramped. Friendly customer service and fast preparation. I ordered beef koobideh with rice and bread for $8.99 - not bad at all considering that the way I eat, their one portion kept me full at both lunch and dinner. Love their rice, it's not sticky at all. And I can't get enough of their tandoori bread - it's delicious. I've eaten from here dozens of times over the years, but always carry out. In that span of time, there's been two changes of ownership and the food has improved both times. Currently, it's Afghan style kabobs. My preferred dish is the chenjeh and joojeh (steak and chicken combo). I don't care for the kubideh, it's been dry the few times I tried it. Their white sauce is pretty good but their spicy sauce sucks. It's watery and I hate the fact they keep it on the back counter all day with no refrigeration. I've given them feedback as to how to make their operation better, but they dismissed it and continue "how we've always done it." Once I called to place an order for pick up, like I ALWAYS do, they put me on hold for 3-4 minutes and then came back to tell me that they're not taking any more phone orders. I hung up without saying a word but knew they were probably busy because of Ramadan's fast-breaking time. Their simple operation had reached its capacity and their complacent attitude was limiting their growth. Decided to finally try this kabob joint out, and I am SO glad that I did. The inside is like a cafe, with lots of tables for those who want to eat in. I was doing take-away, but the layout was nice. Order at the counter, and there is a large menu board with descriptions and pictures. This is very helpful for those of us who are not Kabob experts (this is a Persian-style kabob shop). Additionally, the family that runs this shop is very friendly and kind. I went for the straightforward Kabob Kubideh, beef skewers on rice with bread, and I also decided to try out a piece of their baklava. The order was ready in under 10 minutes, and I was on my way. My order consisted of 2 large ground beef kabobs over LOTS of rice, a grilled tomato, and a half piece of bread (huge by the way). Everything was fresh and cooked very well. The beef actually had seasonings I could taste, and there was onion mixed into it. The rice was nice and fluffy, not greasy. The bread was soft and chewy, great stuff. There was also a homemade yogurt sauce that was just the right creaminess to give your food a quick cool-down if needed. The baklava was very good as well - lots of sweet honey and nuts baked into that phyllo dough. Definitely going to get some of that again. It didn't make sense to me until later, but the meat was a good texture--not tough whatsoever, however it was NOT juicy. That is really the only thing that was stopping me from giving this place another star. The platter also includes a generous portion of fluffy rice with saffron, and a large, delicious naan. Their chengchi (not sure about spellings) is perfectly cooked and very flavorful. Everything on their menu is good but that is by far my favorite. The beef shreds and melts in your mouth beautifully. I love the fact they give real yogurt as a side with your meat and not that disgusting ranch like other places. Delicious option for kabobs. Our family came on a Saturday afternoon based on Yelp reviews. My wife and I ordered the chicken kabob wrap and the Kubideh (beef) wrap, which were about $6 each. Although it's not printed in the picture menu behind the front counter, you can ask for the wrap option instead of the full platter. We sat down in the informal setting. It's not a fancy place, but is kid-friendly and had a few customers with take-out orders. After 5 minutes, somebody from the kitchen brought the the kabob wraps out on a tray.
