So many great options at the Ironworks, 1st time I tried this place. Environment was very quiet with Cinco De Mayo happening. Nice staff and great food. I had the combo pizza with a perfect balance of crunchy crust, fresh toppings, and gooey cheese. The Smashburger was delicious and came with yummy fries. I'm a sucker for a good burger and variety of beers. The double burger was good and what you want in a double smash. Maybe could've been cheesier but that's because the Pattie's were huge. The servers stepped up and were able to get Thursday night football on the prime account. Parking was tough since there are so many restaurants around but you can valet. I love Daredevil's beer -- it's one of my go-to choices when I want a great local Indy beer. I also love that I can enjoy their beer outside on the patio on a nice day, with some tasty food. We visited on a Saturday after the lunch rush, and we were able to get a table outdoors with an umbrella. They have several tables for outdoor seating, but they also have indoor seating if that's what you want. They require masks be worn indoors (and outdoors when you're not eating). When we visited, it was a nice day and they had the doors open, so there was a lot of fresh air circulating indoors. Mostly the food here is burgers and fries, and we ordered the Chi-Town Loaded Frittes, which was a big basket of fries topped with shaved roast beef, beer cheese, horseradish sauce, and bits of carrots and celery. At first, I was puzzled as to why they included the carrots and celery, but as I ate, I came to the conclusion that they were going with a theme here: roast beef and vegetables! It was like a pot roast dinner on top of fries. That's actually pretty clever. So we split the loaded fries because they were a lot of food, and we also got salads: the Daredevil Chop (a chopped salad) and the Wedge Romaine. Be aware that the wedge is made of romaine lettuce, not iceberg! It's a different take on the classic. The beer here is killer, but they also have several ciders to choose from, as well as wine by the glass and by the bottle. And lastly but not leastly: They serve their water with rabbit turd ice! We stopped here for dinner on a Sunday of holiday weekend and were able to quickly get seated at a high top in the bar area. They had a nice outdoor seating section, but it was looking rainy so we stayed inside. The waitress was very attentive and quick to stop by when we needed anything. I ordered the hall smash burger and fries. The fries had a great crisp to them, and I really enjoyed them. The smash burger was also very tasty and hit the spot. This is our first time stopping here because we don't eat in the area often, but after this meal, it will definitely be higher up on our list! Came here during off hours to an almost empty establishment. I was greeted quickly and genuinely as I took a spot at the bar. I just came in for a quick beer and a little snack to tide me over. My favorite beer is the Helles. I'm not into overly hoppy things and appreciate a crisp clean beer. Being from Germany, I am a traditionalist when it comes to beer, and this one lives up to my standards. The barkeep talked me into ordering a pretzel and by golly that was one of the best I ever had. It has just a little crispness on the outside and is buttery soft on the inside. Served warm with a buttery salty topping and some phenomenal beer cheese, this is just an excellent way to snack. After reading many rave reviews I was so excited to try this place. We were completely underwhelmed. Service was fine but the food was lackluster. My kids who are kids didn't even like the food. The Mac and cheese had potential but lacked any seasoning and was really greasy. Everything was just greasy the pretzel was decent the sauce was good. They make their ranch in house, you can tell it's delicious. The chicken sandwich was terrible. Just really weird flavor all around and mostly breading again greasy mess. My husband and I ordered delivery through Doordash to try Daredevil Hall for the first time. We ordered a cheese pizza, breadsticks, and a pretzel. The breadsticks were really good! And they come with a very good cheese sauce for dipping. I wasn't overly impressed with the pretzel. It was okay, but I think I was spoiled by trying the breadsticks first. I'd still probably order it again to try again though! Now to the pizza...I wasn't a huge fan of the crust. The flavor was great (most likely the same dough as the breadsticks) but there was something that I was missing. We ordered tavern style so maybe that's what was different. Don't get me wrong, it was still overall very good and we will definitely make a trip there to see if delivery effected anything. I'd recommend giving this place a try! read more

Beer, burgers, and pizza. How can you go wrong with a combination like that? Add to that some pretty stellar french fries, as well as an assortment of food oh, not to mention a pretty cool name for an establishments and you have a winning combination. The beer is the undeniable star here. They have a great selection and some pretty stellar stand outs amongst that selection. But that should not diminish the quality of the burgers and pizza. this hall is apart of the daredevil brewer which is located in speedway, in the hall is up north off keystone in the ironworks hotel plaza along with several other businesses. the whole area is nice. the parking is a free nightmare as finding a spot is almost impossible. i originally had this place marked for their wings but they removed them sometime last year. i proceeded for the pizza & other items. i wanted a drink and something good to eat thought this would be perfect. i entered and waited at the host stand for a few minutes until one of the workers appeared advising it was self seating. a sign would be helpful. i opted for the main room as the bar is pretty tiny & was full. my food was average. pizza was okay. the breadsticks were more like crackers. hard & too much salt. wasn't a fan of them being paired with beer cheese instead of a nacho cheese. my friend got the brussels which looked great and she said they were! the chicken sandwich could have used a bit more flavor. the table next to me ordered burgers & fries which looked good. service was just okay too. this isn't somewhere i'd recommend but i wouldn't not go back either. seems like an okay place to grab something decent, drink local beer & watch the game. i wish i could rate this a 3.5 but i'd rather give more because overall nothing was wrong read more

Three cheers for a local brewery joining the Keystone area! Daredevil Brewing is based in Speedway and opened another location on the main level of the Ironworks Hotel. It's a cool, casual vibe and the bartender welcomed us when we walked in. We only went for beers, so I can't speak on the food, but I was pleasantly surprised at how much we both liked our Daredevil beers we ordered. We both chose German lagers: the Helles and the Bock. The Bock was super dark, so I assumed it'd be malty and not my cup of tea, but I was surprised by how delicious and smooth it was. They also have a fun list of shandy ales (beer and orange cream soda). We're excited to go back for those beers, as well as to try some food next time! Word on the street is that there are fun weekend drinks like beermosas, micheladas, and mimosas too. read more

The folks from Speedway, Indiana-based Daredevil Brewing have put together this effort - Daredevil Hall, a restaurant and taproom located on the ground floor of the Ironworks Hotel building at the west end. In case you're a little slow on the uptake, Daredevil Hall is both a restaurant, which is family friendly, and a taproom, which is ages 21+ only for obvious legal reasons. The whole Ironworks building does a nice job in terms of accessibility. Daredevil Hall has accessible parking, definitely ADA compliant, directly in front of the building. The wood, two-sided entryway (with a glass center) is a tad heavy, but generally workable. As a rule, every business in this complex is really good about grabbing the door if you're struggling a bit. As you enter, there's a hosting area basically right in front of you. Slightly to the left, you have the actual "hall" or the area considered family friendly. Further to the left, you have the actual taproom that is restricted to those aged 21 and over. The seating in the hall ranges from 2-4 person booth/table combos along with a series of tables and longer tables down the middle of the hall. The decor is consistent with the industrial vibe of Ironworks, though the wood complements everything quite nicely. I was surprised, but pleased, to be seated at a 4-top. The hostess removed both chairs from one side for me. My server, Anjelica, was prompt and courteous throughout. She seemed a bit introverted, but overall the service was solid and I got my always desired iced tea refill. Yes, I went to a brewery and ordered my usual unsweetened iced tea. While I do drink, it's not a frequent thing for me and for some weird reason I seldom drink with meals. Daredevil has a pretty brought beer and wine menu. They offer Growler and what they call Crowlers. Food from the restaurant is also available in the taproom. The food menu includes shareables, soups/chilis, tacos, a handful of sandwiches, burgers, pomme frites/poutine, and some sausages. They do also have a kids' menu. Generally speaking, the price point is sort of mid-range - if you have alcohol, it obviously goes up. I ordered a Brewery Cheeseburger that comes with two 5 oz. house burgers, lettuce, tomato, pickle, onion, remoulade, and American cheese. As a nice touch, their menu actually suggests the perfect beer to go with each sandwich. The burgers all come with pomme frites (fries) or a side salad. The burger was quite good - I will admit I'd probably prefer it without cheese, but it was pretty incredible anyway. The fries are on the thinner side, seasoned quite perfectly, and absolutely delicious. The serving size for both is quite good - you definitely feel like you're getting a "meal." The entire meal with iced tea came in at just over $15 without a tip. This is a bit of a splurge for me, but certainly not unreasonable. I would definitely return. The service? Quite good, though probably more 4-star than 5-star. I got my usual iced tea refill - always desired. Though, she was definitely a touch introverted and maybe even a little distracted (in fairness, it was fairly busy). It was still quite good, though, but maybe not to the level of what I consider true hospitality. I was also greeted by one supervisor named Luke - I don't actually know his position, though he appeared to be in a supervisory role. The atmosphere was comfortable. It was a bit louder than I usually like, though most people seemed to be having conversations just fine. I also liked that they took your credit card and ran it at the table. After a recent negative experience at another restaurant, I've become a lot more careful about the credit card. Overall, my inclination would be to give a 4.5 star. Obviously, that's not possible. I think with 2 minor issues, I lean more toward a 4-star than a 5-star right now but this may jump up upon subsequent visits. While I won't quite say that Daredevil will be a regular stomping ground, it's definitely somewhere I will return to and I will likely try a brew the next time. A perfect fit for this Ironworks complex, Daredevil Hall was doing quite brisk business despite some environmental protesters outside along the block protesting some cutting of trees across the street along Haverstick Road. However, even they were well behaved and this was definitely a welcome treat tonight. read more

The beer was fantastic - the American Stout I had was boozie but really great flavor, complexity and not too heavy. Hubs got the Poblano Jack Smash burger - it was cooked well, had decent heat, just looked good too. I got the jalapeño and honey chicken sandwich. Honestly, it was a good sandwich, but I was missing the jalapeño. This sandwich should be served with wet wipes- the honey is messy! But the chicken was cooked well. The breading was crisp. Toppings of tomato, lettuce and pickles were fresh. Again, really just missing the heat or jalapeño flavor. We both got fries and they are great- not greasy. Mmmmmmm!!! Just thinking about my meal here makes my mouth water! I came with my best foodie friend and we went to town. We gad the Kung pao wings, poutine fries and the burger with pimento type cheese oozing out of the middle. The wings had delicious flavor and the sauce that came with them was great! The poutine fries were super tasty and definitely big enough to share. The burger was my favorite! It was seasoned perfectly and had these incredible crispy edges. I'd been wanting to try this place for a while and finally got around to it. First, the service isn't very good. We were left standing at the door for quite a while before we were even acknowledged. When we asked about seating, we were treated as if we were an annoyance. Additionally, we were rarely checked on. This was disappointing. The burger is actually pretty good and so were our two meads. However, I wasn't impressed with the chicken wings. Neither flavor had enough sauce and they were WAY too crispy to the point that they're almost dry. They seemed like they had been air-fried but we were told they're just double-fried or something like that. While the burger and fries and mead were good, I'm not sure we really have any reason to return. read more

Yesterday afternoon was my first visit to Daredevil Hall, but it definitely won't be my last! This was Hubby's second visit so he knew exactly which brew he wanted to order. We were welcomed at the door by Ian who suggested we join him at the bar since the server for the dining room wasn't in just yet. This worked great for us as sitting at the bar is just how we roll. We each had the Muse beer -- it was delicious! Just be careful if having several as the ABV is around 8.5%. Hubby ordered the Midwest Fish Fry ($18) for us to share. So glad he did because it was the best fish & chips I've ever had! The whitefish was thick and the batter was so crispy and good (not at all greasy), the herb tartar sauce was delicious, the cole slaw was fresh and the fries were so tasty! It was more than enough for the two of us. Next time I think I'll request an extra herb tartar sauce for dipping the fries. :) Ian took great care of us and we really enjoyed our visit. I'd like to return on a weekend and try their brunch menu offerings -- perhaps the breakfast poutine or biscuits & gravy! read more

I've been meaning to hit up Daredevil for quite a while now. Located in the Ironworks Hotel amongst an array of other noteworthy spots like Rize, Provision, and Sangiovese, Daredevil is a breath of fresh air- with a beer hall vibe, it reminds me of my visit to Germany, from the casual, laid-back vibe to the in-house brewed beers and the multitude of food they offer. Daredevil post-COVID is one of my favorite spots: with appropriate social distancing, plasticware, paper menus, and masked servers, they know how to make you feel extremely comfortable and safe while dining out. A friend and I decided to grab a couple 'light' bites (or so we thought!) and, well, the eats were anything but! Nevertheless, quality reigns supreme, and with the first bite of the charred brussels salad, dressed expertly with a sweet soy glaze, we knew we'd hit a jackpot. The fries are extremely fresh and well-done, and you can't get enough of the dips. The pretzels, which have been on my bucket list for AGES now, definitely delivered: the pretzel is buttery but not overtly so, and the beer cheese has just the right amount of beer to hint at the eatery's house brews that they boast of. read more

Daredevil Hall is an excellent extension of Daredevil Brewery. I knew the beer at this taproom would be great, but I also really like the food and the atmosphere. Located on the west end of the Ironwork Building, Daredevil has a ton of parking. You enter from the parking lot into the good-sized dining room with several lower dining tables. Turn left to get to the bar, which sits in a small area without tables. Around 12 wooden bar stools with back support line the black bar with red highlights. The bar top is a black stone with no rail. The brick back bar is super simple with 4 HDTVs, a Daredevil sign, and the taps. Really the entire taproom very straightforward with little decor. Of course, the beers here are incredible. As for the food, I've had several appetizers and sandwiches, which are all very delicious. Specifically, I love the pretzels and chicken sandwiches. The atmosphere is very relaxed, especially later in the evening. It's a great place to watch the game. With a great location, beers, and food, Daredevil Hall is the perfect place to dine or stop by for a few beers while you watch the game. read more

Laid back dinner for whole family. Kids meals $5 for entree, fries & drink! Kids burger and hot dogs meals were huge and very tasty! Our kids loved it and you don't have to worry about kids being too loud. Noise levels a little less than a sports bar where you can converse without having to shout but also don't have to worry about making sure kids don't get to noisy. Not knowing how long it would take to get our food and the fact we were past our normal dinner time with hungry kids we opted for kids meals to come out when they were ready. I've never seen a kids meal come out as fast as it did here! When our server brought our drinks he also had the kids meals of the hotdog with a grilled bun and the cheeseburger kids meal! The kids inhaled the food & we managed to try a bite of each, both very tasty. VERY IMPRESSED with speed, quality and service we received especially for the kids!!!! What a way to make a place both kid friendly and enjoyable for adults! The Brewster Board was shared and was large. Pretzels had an orange or lemon zest on top that was refreshing and could be wiped off if didn't want it. Sausages on board were tasty. Iron works on the north side is really stacking it up with a variety of restaurants including Daredevil Hall, an extension to the Daredevil brewery out of Speedway. If you looking for hardy stick to your ribs & all the carbs this is your place. The atmosphere is industrial - the main dining hall is a long narrow space with tall ceilings - pipe tables & wooden benches. To be honest the tables are a little tricky to get around. The legs are large and not offset so you have the maneuver the table to get in. So if your an older or disabled person or area just really clumsy like me - be prepared for some shin bumps. The light pours in from the north window and fills the space but it is a little chilly - so bring a sweater! We went for brunch & I was thrilled as it's ny favorite meal & the menu at a glance was concise & cheesey. The cons - not a single vegetarian option y'all, sorry. The other con, a big one for me - crappy coffee (like maybe foldgers?). Y'all I don't get it - Indy is an epicenter of delicious local coffee but nary a drop here. However we got the Daredevil Hash - a cute little mini cast iron skillet of crispy hash browns layered with American cheese, diced ham, crumbled sausage, and smothered with Colorado pork green chili & two eggs of your choice. It was good - so good & so bad - it was a lot - hardy - don't try to eat the whole thing - no need to be a hero here. I may order it sans ham or sans sausage next time. We also got the Brewcy Burger - two pork sausage patties smashed and seared, tomatoes stuffed with homemade pub cheese, beer pickles, diced white onions and topped with an over easy egg, Served with cripy hash browns. The sauce on this was wonderful - I could have drank it. But again - it was ALOT! We also got the Michalada - which was good but a little spicy. My honest opinion, we went here because my son loves big cheeseburgers. The pics online show a giant burger but the menu only has smash burgers. I said give him the biggest one. Granted the burger is a decent size but it has an extra bun in the middle but it is a Great burger but not worth 15.00. The fries are perfect, fresh and hot and they give you plenty. We ordered the breadsticks with cheese and man they were just like the old Nobel Romans ones ... To Die For... We got the chicken sandwich and it was burnt so they replaced it with a burger but by the time ours came out our son was done with his dinner.
