A beautiful venue in the heart of DC. I saw Hassan hares Ronny Ronny hates Hassan. It was a cleverly done show. The venue has tons of bathrooms!!! So there wasn't a wait at all even though this show was sold out! I love that! Getting to my seat was seamless and there was extremely attentive staff every step of the way to help. It was crowded because it was a sold out show but it was very well staffed and orderly. They had food options in the basement level and drinks on the main level. Looking forward to attending more shows here!

Lovely small venue! I have never been here before, but I believe there are no bad seats in the house. In the lower area they had beverage service as well, as some food. The food was catered in, and it was wings, and or chicken tenders with fries. Not a great food selection, but again they don't have a kitchen. Typical concert hall prices.

I came here last Saturday evening to see Distant Worlds Live, they were fantastic! However we are here to review DAR Constitution Hall itself. My first complaint is there's no indication where to go so you just have to assume that if there's a line you're in the right place. It'd be nice to just have a sign out where you can let others know you should be waiting right there before the show starts. And let me tell you about just walking in itself... yeah it's a chaotic mess. I'm not sure who thought it was a great idea to try to get 100+ people in all at the same time to buy merch/drinks/food in such short of a time span. That's just added unnecessary stress but it'd been a bit easier if we had more staff to help keep the line more organized. Luckily I was able to find my seat easily and I sat down in Row BB, in 103. It was a nice spot close to the front and overall I had a pleasant time. If you can get past that initial rush of people trying to get in before the show begins.. it's an overall decent experience.

Came here to see Colin Jost and Michael Che while they were on tour. It was my first time at the venue. Very cool to be surrounded by so much history, but the seating arrangement is very strange. We were on the side so we basically had to turn our entire bodies to sit sideways on the seat bc Althea seats don't face the stage (they're almost perpendicular). I didn't get a drink or food or anything, but they had a whole area down in the basement for that sort of thing. The bathrooms were pretty nice (there were a lot of them). My biggest complaint was the line to get into the venue. They were making folks put their phones into those lock bags so we couldn't record the show so it took almost an hour to get into the venue. We were lined up around the block and not given a whole lot of communication. Not sure if I'd be in a hurry to go back, but it is kinda cute and quaint

Wow. Chicken Fingers, beer and chips. This place reeks of fried chicken. Hotter than hell in there. Why is the water in the restrooms freezing cold? Can't we have nice things? Clean this place up. Yuk.

The place is clean, but I have to say the service absolutely sucked. The ushers sent me to the WRONG place 3 times. I swear I wanna cuss. There is no food smh. I just knew I could have some popcorn. Smh. I'm hungry and annoyed they had me walking up and down and around the darn place. The service absolutely sucked. I can tell they did the same thing to someone else bc she is walking back and forth apologizing too. Last thing we need is someone falling down these stairs Al because the ushers sent you the the wrong side. Smh annoying.

Have been here atleast twice before (each for a comedy show) and each time was a great time. The staff is courteous and the venue is a decent size so that even seats to the side of the stage are still a fine view. The line for drinks always look long, but you'll get to the front in a reasonable amount of time. Tip: if pre-show it's too crowded for you upstairs, head downstairs where the bathrooms are; not only is there another bar down there but there's always less people Looking forward to my next show at the DAR!

    Trevor Noah!!! Witty, clever, HILARIOUS!!!

Great concert venue for sit down performances. Tips: Arrive early so you have time to get through the security and metal detectors. Staff is friendly, prompt and courteous. They want to get everyone in to see the show, quickly. Do not try to sneak in with your ticket at the Will-Call entrance to try and skip the ticket holders line. They will send you away, to the ticket holders line and you will have to walk to the very end!! Cash bar only for beverages and cocktails. There is an ATM money machine, but there is a long line to use it. BRING CASH!!! Drinks are about $8 - $10 each. Downstairs, they serve a few appetizers like chicken wings, maybe other items, not certain. I've been here about 6 times in my entire life for either award ceremonies of some sort, comedy shows and live concerts. If you are afraid of heights and don't like climbing stairs, get tickets on the floor or not too high up. The seating goes straight up, and the climb is steep. I took my mom to a concert once and wasn't aware of the climb to get to our seats so they helped us out and gave her like handicapped seating, no climb, which was close, but semi-obstructed view. Keep that in mind when purchasing tickets, carrying your drink up. I would prefer to arrive early, find my seat, put my jacket down, get situated, go to ladies room, get a soda or drink, then return to seat and enjoy the show. If you don't arrive early, it's like rush hour. Everyone arrives at the last minute and the show will start with or without you!!! Parking...there are plenty of parking lots nearby. However, many blocks away. Prepare to walk at least 6 city blocks, or .25 of a mile or longer. Closest metro is Farragut West, about .75 of a mile. Or, you may get lucky and find parking on the street.

Who's going to see Trevor Noah!? This guy posting this!

Date Night part 2! Tix to see Trevor Noah which is the highlight of our week! He did not disappoint. As for the venue itself.... let me explain. Interior and exterior have a classic traditional look that fits being in the nation's capital. The stage area itself is spacious with a lot of seating on the orchestra floor and then upstairs on both sides. Sound reverberates due to the structure so you can hear what's happening. Makes laughing easier when the comedians do their material. Both bars (lounge and entrance) are cash only. This is the 2010's, no one carries cash anymore. Learn to take plastic! They could maintain some of the bathrooms; the men's lounge bathroom was missing soap in some dispensers and the air dryers didn't seem to work. That lead to wet door knobs which sounds the way it sounds as I typed it. Give some updates and renovations to this venue and it could be a must-visit venue. I'll come back to see shows here if the artist is worth it. But please no wet door knobs!

Excellent venue and easily accessible. The security and metal detector lines moved very quickly. We attended an event here, the wait was literally nothing and the layout is excellent. Unlike other venues we attended events at they have easy access restrooms and plenty of them. This is a very comfortable venue!

This old school punk venue has been around since the early 80s and I started seeing shows here in my late teens. The history behind this place is just mind-blowing and incredible. You can also pay for a parking pass through their website but the lot only opens up an hour beforehand so be sure to plan your evening with that in mind. We ended up parking on the street for only $3 since we arrived early to grab dinner nearby. The entry line was super long and literally went around the block but it moved surprisingly fast. Staff was friendly and helpful at the door. The inside was dark when we arrived and it would've been nice to have some house lights so people could find their way around the venue a little easier. The AC was cranking and the temp was comfortable. Upstairs has standing room and some bleachers which provides a good view with less of a crowd. Their VIP area looks nice and I'd be interested in splurging next time for a seat and a better view. There's bars downstairs and upstairs and even some food concessions. Getting out of the venue from the balcony was a bit stressful with only one way out. It makes you imagine what would happen if you needed to get out in a rush... other than that, it's a good space.

I sat outside on the patio. To start, I got the calamari appetizer. Yall! Their calamari is so freakin good! The remoulade sauce that comes with it just takes it to the next level. I got the crab cake entree and it was just what I needed. I recommend replacing the tartar sauce with their remoulade sauce. The Tea Time mocktail was very refreshing. The service was good. The main floor is largely standing room, which creates fantastic energy, but there are ticketed seats in the balconies if one prefers enjoying the evening without fighting for territory on the floor. The bars are large and remarkably efficient, and even the bathrooms deserve praise: spacious, clean, and designed to keep crowds moving. Getting in and out is generally painless. Popular shows can produce quite the line outside, but it moves surprisingly quickly. Another point in its favour: you can bring a small bag and an empty water bottle to fill inside, a civilised little convenience during a long show. The Wharf location makes the entire evening even better, with loads of restaurants and bars nearby for dinner or drinks before or after. Great venue, great atmosphere, and consistently enjoyable. I always love seeing shows here.

4.5 stars. Overall,…read morethis is a really great place to see a show. I came to see Flawed Mangoes and for the most part it was a great time. The venue is like a really clean dive bar that hosts live music. The staff were all very polite and incredibly welcoming. To be situated at the Wharf, the food and beverages were surprisingly affordable... at least by DC standards. The general admission tickets are for standing only. I paid for premium seating and got, well... an actual seat. Unfortunately, this is where I ran into issues. I really wish that Union Stage would offer more smaller tables (1-2 tops) because I had the unfortunate experience of being forced to involuntarily third-wheel some random couple's date night. As someone who frequently attends concerts alone, I hate communal seating. If I'm paying extra for a seat, I don't want to spend the evening sharing a table with strangers. In this case, the couple who joined me at my table spent much of the show carrying on conversations, using flash photography despite it being prohibited, and generally making themselves unwelcome part of my concert experience. It was distracting, annoying, and made it difficult to fully enjoy the performance. Adding more 1-2 top tables for solo concertgoers or couples would significantly improve the premium seating experience by giving people the option to enjoy the show uninterrupted and with the company they actually chose (and paid!) to spend the evening with. It's also worth noting that there is no wait staff to serve you at the tables. So if you grab a seat at a table, make sure you have something to put on the table to indicate that it is occupied. There are QR codes on the table where you can order and pay, but you still have to go to the floor to pick up your food. I got a half cheese pizza and an Aperol Spritz. The pizza was good by dive bar standards. Nothing special about it, but it hit the spot. The Aperol Spritz was also surprisingly good. The sound system is great. However, we need to talk about the lighting situation. I'm not sure if this is how Union Stage typically operates or if this is something that can be attributed to the artist, but the lighting choices for this concert were overwhelming. I've been to dozens of concerts over the course of my life, but I've never had spotlights that repeatedly point directly into the audience, but that was my experience throughout this entire show. I had to put on my sunglasses in this dark venue to keep myself from being quite literally blinded by the light. The background lights and everything were fine, but repeatedly shining spotlights into the crowd was not a good choice. The most expensive part of this night, by far, was the parking, which is not the fault of the venue. I paid $38 to park for 4 hours, but fortunately it was a very short walk to the venue. There are multiple parking garages as well as an extremely limited amount of street parking near this venue. The garage was the only feasible option that evening since so many people were out for the concert, viewing the World Cup, as well as attending events at other bars and restaurants in the general area. All told, I had a really great time at Union Stage. While I hate traveling into DC and I'm not keen on spending $40 on parking, if there's another artist performing at this venue that I want to see, I would definitely come back.

The sound system probably needs an upgrade prior to artist coming on stage the music being played was not really audible and didn't carry any thing to the crowd. The merch table being by the entrance caused more congestion. 3. For the seated area unlike what's displayed on the ticket sites they are in the back not the front not a big deal I prefer standing but could disappoint those who pay the premium price for those. Staff are really nice and friendly and prices are more then fair on drinks and food.
