There pita bread side is to die for. Not sure if they add butter or olive oil to the pita bread but it's nice-warm and addicting. I buy their surf and turf plates. It can be a hit or miss the the meat portion size. Sometimes they give less meat sometimes they give the right amount. read more

Daphne's - Greek Near Me - Roseville, California

They had no Gyros. I wasn't allowed by the app to give a lower than one star rating. When I went to get my soda from the fountain, the soda fountain was covered with ants. When I told the worker doing prep she gave me a dumb look and told me " yeah they're coming in from the door" then walked away. I pointed out to her that ants were crawling all over the soda nozzles that dispose of the sodas. She then looked at me like I was dumb! Finally when I tried again and the person with me tried we had ants falling into and swimming in our drinks. I wish I could had taken a photo of it. I again got clueless looks and no sorry and no offers of bottled drinks. I told them that they needed to shut down the fountain. All I got, again, was looks like they didn't have a clue of what to do. This should be reported to the health department. First, there were ants falling in customer drinks from the dispenser nozzles. Second, the workers didn't seem to see anything wrong with this and did nothing to correct it. The food was blah.....and I've eaten a LOT of Greek and Middle Eastern food. I was very disappointed in this my first and last visit to this Daphne's locale. The other one that closed was excellent. read more

I came in here for lunch the other day, I really enjoy Greek food and I absolutely love the Gyros. I ordered the Gyro fries, I got them in a very timely manner and enjoyed every bite. They had a spicy sauce on top that is very good, and for me to say that it means it was not very spicy at all. I also enjoy the classic Gyro I did not get that this time but have had them previously before. read more

I'm only a quarter Greek by blood, but my larger family is insanely Greek in the most stereotypical ways. It's big, everyone yells a lot and hugs each other and we do circle dancing at weddings. Opa! So, when I heard that Daphne's had gone in near my parents' home - basically a Greek fast food chain - I braced myself for the worst, told myself to be open minded and gave it a shot. The first good sign? A Greek was behind the register, and everyone behind the counter seemed to be "in the family" as well. The spicy chicken salad sealed my affection for the place, with piping hot grilled chicken over fresh greens and olive tapenade, tahini and spicy sauce on the side. Of course, their fries were amazing, and even the baklavah wasn't half bad, although too heavy on the honey and not nearly as good as my grandmother's. Strangely enough, the guy checked my ID at the counter when I went to pay for my food. Mind you, I was not buying any alcoholic beverages. He proceeded to not check the IDs of the 5 other people I was with in line. Apparently I looked suspicious? Next time I'll greet him with "Óáò üìáóôáé êáëò äéáêïò êáé ôéóìíïò ï êáéíïñéïò ñüíïò" and offer him a shot of grappa. That will surely relieve me of any scrutiny? read more

Yup! 5 bold stars. I don't know about the "authenticity" of this place as I've never been to Greece but my Gyro (authentic or not) was delicious!! I had lunch here yesterday. This Gyro was so good, french fries (they weren't Greek ;) and rice pilaf. The yogurt sauce I got to smother all over my Gyro was pretty good too. I liked it so much that I ignored the ketchup and just used it to dip my fries. Nice size delicious Gyro, pleasant people working there, clean place and the price was good. That's definitely 5 stars to me. read more

See all

We had a great experience here. They were incredibly polite and attentive and the food was very tasty for a reasonable price. We'll come back for sure. The gyro was delicious but the fries were pretty blah, that's the only thing on the menu we didn't like. The calamari was ok but I wouldn't order that again. Overall, really good experience. read more

I just finished scarfing down my fresh-carved gyro sandwich....yummy!! I'd say 4.5 stars for my first visit. Had an incling for something fast but semi-healthy, which meant McD's in the same shopping center was out. Had to resist my fry-urge. Service was very good, although the cashier didn't seem to know much about the menu when I asked a couple questions (what meat was the fresh-carved & what is tabouli). Luckily, the store manager was right there to answer any/all my questions, including catering, as I'm always on the lookout for a good place that will deliver lunch to the office. He even gave me an extra tzatziki sauce when I asked. Nice! I'll definitely give this place another shot, no doubt! read more

Food is delicious and authentic. The calamari is fantastic. This is not your traditional calamari rings and stems but actual strips seasoned and deep fried. So good. The spicy chicken pita is tasty and messy, but worth it Service and staff are inept and poor. I have enrolled three times in their rewards program and still they cannot find my account, yet I have received emails from them. They are understaffed and food is slow to arrive. This is not the place for a thirty-minute lunch break. read more

Always enjoy their delicious kabob and salad. Great customer service and food comes out quick and delicious.

Absolutely love daphnes. Food is great and the staff is fabulous, welcoming and fast service. Will be coming back!

My husband and I came here yesterday for an afternoon bite . We've been to this location a few times and it is always the same bland " welcome in " from the teenagers working the counter . The young lady who took our order seemed to be over being at work and showed it in her attitude . We were charged $53. And some change for a Greek salad and the pita plate . When the food came it was very mediocre compared to the last visits but we didn't complain as it was still edible. However as we were sitting in the restaurant eating we overheard the employees stating how tired of being at work they were , which gave an example of why our experience was what it was. Overall , it was just okay , the cashier also made a point to give herself a $7.00 tip on our check that was not given to her . Will not be going back . read more

I like this place ! I think it's good for a quick bite. I also love the prices. Greek food can be expensive and the portions can be very small. I feel like Daphne's prices are worth it to me, to avoid going to an authentic anti chain Greek place. It's clean in here and I think it's a great lunch spot. read more

Madden is the hottest and nicest worker, give him a raise Best service and food ever

Hands down some of the best greek food I have ever had. Nevaeh did a fantastic job cooking the food and the service was amazing. I have been bringing my family here for quite some time and they all love it just as much as I do. Great stuff gang ‍ read more

Food was pretty good. But inside and out of this location needs a serious makeover. I found parts of this chain restaurant very dirty and unkept. The glass door to the side patio looked as if toddlers or dogs had licked it for hours, and the condiments bar was a mess. The bathrooms were dirty as well. Also, patio chairs were very uncomfortable and the tables were not clean. One of the issues I found when I tried to bus my own table there were no garbage cans to throw away your food nor a place to put you used glass plates and utensils. I guess they are supposed to bus our tables for us but I never really feel comfortable leaving dirty dishes at a table and just walking away. Not inspired by this Daphne's location. Can't go higher than 3-stars until they clean up this place. read more

Ordered online for a 1030 pickup. When I arrive at the location it has a sign that they don't open until 11am. Someone should fix this issue

I use to like coming here for their lemon soup even though it took a long time for me to get my food. I just came from here and spent $15 for 1 soda, 1 meat skewer with some pieces of sad lettuce and a cup of soup. This isn't even enough food to fill up a childs belly. What an absolute rip off! I would rather starve then come back here again. They raised their prices too. I felt like I just ordered food from the airport. I don't see any airplanes around do you? read more

Ok food is very good but not generous with portions... ordered the Mediterranean feast for 4 and the salad was a 2 person portion and the sides and proteins were enough for 3 people! The side of fries was a very small order and unfortunately they over cooked the falafel and were dry, but still tasted good. read more

Here we are in 2018, 3 years later since my last update in 2015 (3rd of 4th update since 2013). Still a regular customer (about twice a month). They have had their ups and downs, but right now they are on a down. The food is good most of the time, but the experience is very inconsistent. Sometimes pitas are hard and sometimes they are fresh. Sometimes the fries are undercooked and sometimes they are crispy. One thing they are consistent on lately... getting the order wrong. Wish the owners would read the book "E-Myth" and consider the importance of consistency to their customers. read more

Overcharged us for everything. We got two mix and match plates and fire feta fries for $50.00. Won't be going back. Make senses why the other location closed. The amount of food we received was no where near $50.00 worth. The food was not worth the amount we paid. I do not recommend this place at all. read more

Food is pretty tasty for being a chain with the prices being around the moderate range; however they have $2 pitas Wed evenings, so there are some good deals The food was worth it at regular price and that's what matters to me most. My recommendations are the duo pitas and the lemon soup, it tastes a lot more flavorful than I was expecting and it didn't have that frozen or canned soup aftertaste. Can be a bit to slow to get even for to-go but the food tastes pretty fresh. Customer service is okay, pretty average. read more

Daphne's - Gyro. - Greek Near Me - Roseville, California

The quality of food from Daphnes continues to decline. They no longer use sliced gyros in their classic pita and instead use a chunk version that tatses closer to something steak related from Taco Bell. They have also replaced the vegetables with something resembling pico de gallo. There was so much liquid from the vegetable slurry that the oita was soggy. Chuncks of gyro and drops of juice poured out with each bite. The one bright spot was the fries but you can find quality french fries at any number of restaurants in the same shopping center so don't go out of your way for that. The restaurant itself is also a mess. Pieces of food scattered on the floor and many unclean tables while two employees stand behind the front counter looking at cell phones. There are few Mediterranean options in this area so it's very disappointing to see this one continue to cut corners with food and customer service. Update: Saturday adternoon takeout. 35 minutes for a classic chicken pita? read more

This is a tough Yelp! update, but I can't out of good conscience leave my 5 star review. We went to Daphne's this evening for dinner. I arrived early and was still waiting for my uncle. He texted me saying he was running about 30 minutes behind, so I left, then came back in 30 minutes. When I came back, there were still people there that were waiting for their to-go order when I was originally sitting inside! Super slow. It wasn't just me -- in fact, when I met my uncle for dinner, another family member of mine happened to be there picking up a to-go order, and she had been waiting about 40-45 minutes or so inside. She was getting phone calls from her family members back at home asking where she was because it was taking so long. Anyway, after my uncle and I ordered, the food (shockingly) took a long time. The salad was drenched in dressing, and the meat looked dry and old. This is definitely not the restaurant to order any meat at. The staff seemed friendly, so I feel bad for the review. However, if this place is going to succeed, it needs to become more organized, and provide higher quality food. Carson C. Granite Bay, California read more

I have been coming here for over a year and have always loooved the food at Daphne's. However, today I feel the need to leave this review because the store managers need to better set the employees up for success. My husband and I came for a late lunch today, and while both visible employees greeted us, nobody came to the register to take our order for several minutes. We ordered two Cali pitas at 3:29pm, according to the receipt. It took 15 minutes for us to get our food, which (as someone who has worked in a kitchen) is simply too slow for this kind of food, especially when the meat is already cooked and the restaurant is not busy at all. While we were waiting for our food, we noticed that seven tables still had trash on them waiting to be cleaned up. When our food arrived, we noticed two things: that my husband's pita was cracked and torn in two places that made the pita difficult to eat, and that the gyro meat was in weird thick chunks--not the succulent, mouth-melting crispy strips it's supposed to be in. There is a noticeable taste difference. The pitas were good, but the staff situation needs to be rectified. If having only two employees means that customers can't order for several minutes, trash piles up, and food is slow and prepared incorrectly, you need to add staff, because no owner, manager, or customer wants to see those issues. Please set your staff up for success and make your customers happy again. Thanks for your attention. read more

Just thoroughly enjoyed 2 classic pitas here at Daphne's California Greek.. This place had to be my favorite restaurant in Roseville.. I would absolutely recommend all of my freinds, family and even the of yiu reviewing this post to get this place out.. I promise you won't be disappointed.. Just had the B.F.G Pita!! This bad boy was HUGE and delicious! I have to comment again on the customer service as well.. Brenda was absolutely incredible. Very sweet, helpful and informative. Sometimes I'm indecisive and when I asked her what she preferred because I couldnt make up my mind she without hesitation made a suggestion which turned out to be wonderful. She was very pretty as well which made conversation very comfortable. Daphne's never disappoints. read more

We waited for almost 40 mins and our food wasn't ready. We walked up to ask the manager about it. She had no answers. I asked for a refund and our food. She looked at me like I was crazy. Yes, we expect our food that we've been waiting for over 40 mins for and we want a refund. Totally absurd. To act like we were out of line to ask for our food and a refund, when no one came up to us at any time to tell us what the problem was, is not out of this world. We finally got our food and it was very good. The poor people working really hard had no idea what was going on, or how to handle it. It would have been a 1 star review if it weren't for the helpless looking staff and the good pita we finally received. It's always a bit slow, today was exceptionally slow. read more
