Daphne's has delicious Greek food. The items that I have had there are the gyro and the shawarma. Both of these were amazing and freshly made. The service is very friendly and helpful about any questions you have about their menu. As for the ambiance, it's a very chill environment with lots of seating. The space is so nice, both indoors and out. They really struck gold with the building. It's too bad the food does not match the surroundings. My chicken was dry, hard, and completely lacking flavor. The vegetables were undercooked. My falafel loving 9-year-old hated the falafel (I also couldn't eat more than a bite). There would've been no flavor to anything if it weren't for the inherent flavor of hummus and tzaziki, which I had to spread over everything to be able to get in down. The owners seemed bored and inconvenienced, but their young daughter at the register was friendly. I had a strange experience here today - something that I've never heard of! I haven't been to Daphne's in years, but my new job is nearby so I was happy to try it again. It's in the major shopping center at the corner of Douglas and Sierra College. Lots of parking, easy to find. I came in to grab lunch at around 12:30ish. No one in line, maybe 7-8 patrons eating inside. I went up to the front to order my food and the employee says - It will be at least a 30 minute wait for you to get your food. Um, what? So she said it again and said they were behind. I don't have 30 minutes to wait at lunch time, so unfortunately I left and I will not go back. I ordered the lemon chicken soup and a large side of fire feta because these were my favorite items here. They seemed to have changed the recipe on both items. The lemon chicken soup has no flavor now. It's bland and doesn't even taste like there's lemon in it. Then I tried the fire feta. Usually this is very spicy and flavorful. Now it's just gross. There's barely a hint of spice and it tastes salty and like olive flavor even though there's no olives in it. I probably won't even be able to finish it and I bought the large one that's $9. I'm so disappointed. Why would you change the recipes to food that was way better before? It's so bad I don't think I'll even go back to eat there again. Staff are friendly, and inside environment is clean. Price is above average, but you get lots of food. The only downside is, the wait is very long. I was the only customer there, because I went during off-hours, and it still took them 15+ min to cook one plate of food. My Greek chicken salad was for take out. I dug into it at home and there was NO dressing, the chicken was dry, there was a pea size chunk of feta cheese and the $17 salad was so mediocre!! Accompanying veggies is so random and felt frozen cooked which gave it a watery no seasoned taste of green beans, red peppers and carrots..what? Kabob skewers we're charred and tasteless and overpriced for quantity. The hummus, tzatziki sauces were good but pitas were also not warmed well. Customer service was severely lacking as well. Cashier did not try to engage with us or entice us into menu options or interact with us-busy with the phone instead. Not planning on returning unfortunately. I'm baffled by the mediocre ratings! My friend comes here regularly & loves it; I was a bit hesitant given the rating. Glad I went! It was fabulous! Over the years, I have gone to "Daphne's" (formerly known as "Daphne's Greek Cafe") on multiple occasions. They once had a location in Midtown Sacramento (at 18th & S) but that location had closed way back in the early 2010's. Which brings me to their only location which is in Roseville. Located directly on Sierra College Blvd. & Douglas Blvd., this Daphne's is located in the Renaissance Shopping Center which offers a ton of popular businesses including HomeGoods, Safeway, Jack's Urban Eats, & McDonald's. I came here on the afternoon of 12/5/2020 around 1:30pm. The weather was an unusually warm 68° degrees but that was ideal since at the time, they were only allowing outdoor dining and to-go orders. Since this was around my 5th time eating here, I was already familiar with their menu of popular Mediterranean styled food. Everything from falafels, & salads to pita sandwiches & complete skewer entrees. Business was thriving as several people were in line to order as well as quite a few people waiting for their food. The inside is spacious but with indoor dining restrictions in effect, it looked larger than it actually was. I ended up ordering their "Surf & Turf Plate" (for $12.99) as my lunch of choice. This consisted of a combination of a grilled shrimp skewer and a steak skewer served on a bed of seasoned basmati rice with roasted vegetables, tzatziki sauce, and warm pita bread. I ordered a lemonade as my drink of choice. Since I had told the cashier that I'd be dining outside, he told me they would be bringing my food out to me. It was very busy so I waited a good 20 minutes for my food to arrive. To my disappointment, they had forgotten to include both my sides of tzatziki sauce AND pita bread. In all the years I have been dining here, this is the first time this has happened to me. I basically had to get up, walk back inside, & let one of the employees know I was missing these two items. Fortunately the employee who originally brought out my food did bring my missing items. As far as the overall flavor, the shrimp was seasoned very nicely. However, they were very skimpy on the steak with mostly grilled veggies dominating the skewer. There was an abundance of rice but just not enough of the actual surf & turf at around $14 (after tax). I do have to say that the prices are just too much for the amount of food that you receive. With that said and done, I am giving "Daphne's" in Roseville just an average three-star rating. Decent food but pricey and just subpar service make this a spot that has potential to do much better but this recent visit was just A-OK to me. read more

Never knew this was here. The signage is very plain and blends in. It is located in the Home Goods shopping center closer to McDonalds. Went last weekend hoping to find a dine in place for lunch. They have about 4 tables available to sit and outdoor seating for Covid accomodations. You are not allowed to do self serve drinks. They have to bring it out to you. I use to go to the Daphne's in Natomas many years ago but have tried several Greek places since then. With that said, this is just okay. It is very similar to Falafel Corner. You can get a "gryo" or they just call pita sandwiches or a plate. I ordered the plate with two meats (gyro and kabobs for an extra cost) along with some hummus, no drink and it came to $18. Everything was bland and luke warm at best. It would have been nice if the pitas were warmed up. It appears to be family owned and the young girl taking our order was very nice. I was excited to try this place, but was a bit disappointed. The pita was good, but the chicken was dry. The tzizki was almost bland, and super thick - more of a dip than a sauce. There was a good amount of meat, which is nice to see these days. I also got a side of hummus and I had to through it out. There were chunks of garlic in it. Imagine Chipotle meal options (build your own) for Greek food but the only food items are over-cooked and under-seasoned. I got a salad bowl with chicken kabob, hummus and bread. The lettuce was slimy as if it were expired. The hummus was crusty like it had been exposed to air for too long. Chicken was weirdly cold but not undercooked. Giving an updated review. I have had two deliveries in the last few weeks. All super fresh, hot and everything included with my meals. The pita is also incredibly fresh and tasty. They were having some pos issues when we arrived. Consequently a line formed behind us. We ordered 2 combo platters. We waited about 9 minutes. The cook put our dishes on the top for server to bring to us . There were 2 servers but both were on the same register helping one customer. Our orders sat there for maybe 5 minutes. When it was brought to us it wasn't very warm. The presentation was good but all our meats were overcooked and room temperature. I didn't hear anything sizzling on the grill. So I suspect the meats were precooked. Then maybe reheated ? Thus drying out during the process. The server's were very nice and friendly. Having been a small business owner before I hope the owner sees this and makes some improvements. Btw one the restrooms was out of soap. Me and my family love this place. We have been coming here since 2020 when we moved here BUT I must say the quality control is what makes it unbearable. We love the food and that's why we keep coming back hoping it will get better but there have been times where the have smaller than usual servings, burnt chicken that literally tasted like charcoal and leaving out sauces that are supposed to be on the meal.
