Our family of five ordered a chicken gyro, beef and lamb gyro bowl, chicken gyro bowl, and octopus salad. For drinks we got the bottled orange soda and the yogurt drink. On top of that, many of their items are made on site! As we are driving back to Reno, we all wanted different foods and I chose this place. But if you are following, you already know all this. I got the Beef Lamb Lavash Wrap with extra sauce on the side. It was so good, and actually fairly easy for me to eat during my drive. The last part of the wrap was very wet/juicy, but not in a bad way. But that part is probably safer to eat when NOT driving. Also available - Beer and wine. Atmosphere - Cool decor! See pictures. Open 7 days a week from 10:30am to 9:30pm; Yelp hours differ slightly. Indoor/outdoor seating, but I chose to take mine to go. Table and counter table seating. Clean organized bathrooms. Service - Manager Amhet was so welcoming and inviting. He took the time to talk to us and share info about their brand. Gave me a tour of their open kitchen, even a sample of the meat roll. Price - $16.50; reasonable prices. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success at this new location for the last 5 months and your other two locations. We are also customers of your Tarla Mediterranean Bar & Grill in Napa.

We ordered takeout from The Great Greek for the first time and overall had a really good…read moreexperience! We ordered two grilled steak souvlaki plates for $22.99 each. Each plate came with two skewers of meat, rice pilaf, pita bread, tzatziki sauce, and a Greek salad, with the option to substitute fries for the rice. The rice pilaf was especially good: soft, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. In my opinion, the steak could have used a little more seasoning and salt, but it was tender, and the tzatziki added a lot of flavor. The salad was also delicious, and I'm pretty picky about salads! The lettuce was super crisp and fresh, and the vinaigrette gave it so much flavor. It was also the perfect size--not too little, but not overwhelmingly large. The souvlaki plate is a very generous portion, and you could easily get two meals out of it. I was only able to finish about half, so I definitely think the price is worth it. My husband ordered The Great Greek Gyro for $13.99 and loved it. He said it was flavorful, filling, and a generous portion. We also ordered the kids' cheese pizza meal for $9.99, which comes with a choice of rice or fries. We chose the fries, and they were crispy and delicious. Even though we ordered everything to go, the inside was cute, clean, and spacious enough that it didn't feel crowded or suffocating. There is also a restroom inside. The employee at the front was extremely nice and helpful. I told her it was my first time and that I needed a little time to decide, so she handed me a menu with pictures. It was much easier than trying to read through the menu above the counter, and I really appreciated that. The location is convenient, with plenty of parking, and it's right next to Chipotle and Raley's. We will definitely be back!

I really wanted to like this place because I enjoy good Greek food…read more The gyro was the highlight. It was generously filled, the meat was flavorful, and I'd definitely order it again. Unfortunately, everything else missed the mark. I ordered the seasonal watermelon salad and was surprised to find only four small cubes of watermelon, a handful of very thin cucumber slices, and four small pieces of feta. To make matters worse, the dressing had leaked all over the inside of the delivery bag, so everything arrived messy. I also ordered the lemon soup, but it tasted more like a basic chicken and rice soup. I couldn't taste any lemon at all. I've had some outstanding Greek lemon soup over the years, and this just wasn't close. The gyro saved the meal, but the salad and soup were disappointing enough that I'd probably only come back for the gyro.

The closest dish available to fulfilling our ultimate goal was their Loaded Gyro Bowl that came with their 2 sauce combination and mixed beef/lamb cube meat (they don't have the sliced meat version). I was skeptical at first but a worker (owner?) allowed us to sample their cubed-shaped meat and oh booooy.. delicious and succulent! We ordered 4 Loaded Gyro Bowls along with hot sauce on their side. Had a couple of desserts to go with it. Every bite was absolutely and incredibly delicious! 4.4 stars rounded down to 4. Why not 5? The meat portions of the 4 bowls. The meat portions were just too small compared to Falafel Corner's corners competitors. The Loaded bowls seemed to be primarily rice and hardly any meat to go with it. Don't get me wrong - the taste was precisely what we were looking for and comparative to the Halal Guys. Gotta have more meat per bowl if charging a hefty price. For example, just take a look at the photo - see how gorgeous the meat is? Unfortunately that's all the meat you get - nothing under it except for rice. That top layer of meat has no extra layers of meat underneath. Biggest advice I could provide if ordering their bowls: Ask for another scoop of meat (or perhaps on the side if they charge extra). Ask for extras of their two sauces that come with each bowl. Along with their hot sauce on the side, you're going to want to mix in as much of the extra sauces as possible to hit that perfect spot you're craving for if you're familiar with those Halal New York carts. 1. Extra meat per bowl 2. Extra sauces per bowl (the 2-part white sauce) 3. 1 hot sauce on the side for each bowl Service was fantastic, place was clean and tidy, parking is plentiful in a plaza that's not overwhelming, enough tables for a few parties to dine in, ambience is cozy, and they prepare your orders upon placing them so the food is always fresh. Kiosk in front to order promptly or simply order the old fashioned way if you'd like assistance. Incredible Mediterranean food and if you're looking for something (very) close to The Halal Guys, this is it! It'd be a perfect 5 stars for me if they just had included more meat per order. Regardless, definitely worth a go if you haven't stopped by yet!

Finally, I found the time to go back and enjoy their food and drag my folks along while they were in town to experience it as well for the first time. We arrived around 12:30PM on a Saturday and there was a fair amount of people dining in (and a lot of to-go orders.) Not much has changed since the last time I visited - simple decor but also very clean and welcoming. We were greeted, seated immediately and within a minute given water and lentil soup. Right away, my folks were already happy with the lentil soup so they were excited for their actual meal. The food: Beef & Lamb Gyros Wrap Beef Shawarma Plate Chicken Shawarma Plate (no rice) Everything was delicious! This might've been the first time I've seen my folks finish their food and I was the only one who had leftovers. Big portions and worth it! My folks are pretty picky with sweet deserts and were hesitant to eat the baklava that was given afterwards. But after trying it, they absolutely loved it enough to purchase another (2). The server threw in an extra one for free which we definitely appreciated a lot. Thanks Wally's Cafe for the great food and the great first experience for my folks. I'll make sure not to take almost a year to head back again!

Tonight we'd both had long workdays, so I ordered online (about $50 for a couple of plates and the hummus trio) and my wife went to pick it up. When she walked in and said hi, the young woman at the front answered with a flat "ya," then turned away with a scowl, as if my wife was bothering her just by being there. The rest of the interaction stayed cold and rude. My wife is about the kindest person you'll meet, and she came home in tears over how she'd been treated for no reason at all. I went down there to ask for a manager. The same employee told me there was no manager or supervisor on site, then tried to put the blame on my wife when I explained what happened. I was so upset I was shaking, and I raised my voice. I'm sorry for yelling in your establishment; that wasn't right, no matter how I felt. As I was walking out, the manager came out from the back. So there was a manager there the whole time. To be fair, two people did things right. The young man working with her was polite and went out of his way to be kind to my wife, like he knew something was off. And the manager stopped me, stayed professional, and tried to make it right. That's appreciated. The food has never been the problem. But how customers are greeted matters, and after tonight, we won't be back.
