This place is so cute! The food was delicious. Drinks not pictured but refreshing. This is a great place to grab food and drinks. Pro tip, make sure you make a reservation.

Dante was the cutest place for a dinner. Everything felt very curated from the place settings to the drinks to the decor. They had an extensive cocktail list, we went with the espresso martini where they honored the 3 bean rule. We were headed to a show after so stuck with entrees only. The clam tagliatelle had great fresh flavor with lots of clams. The Bianca pizza could have been a bit more flavorful, but it was a nice bite to eat. The service was very quick and attentive.

When I was young in the mid to late 1970's, my dear friends parents would take us to Cafe Dante for a treat, too young for coffee we would have steamed milk or later on, a Latte. Still a nostalgic street, the cafe is warm & inviting, service is friendly and welcoming. The selection of Negroni & Martini choices is exceptional and they are expertly made. We shared a burger which at 28$ was not memorable and really could come with something adorning the plate. A cozy place on a great street in a wonderful part of town near a fabulous park, a win win even without the Negroni hours!

Along macdoughal street you find a very quaint Cafe Dante. I instantly fell in love with the music and vibe which was very upbeat .The place can get quite chatty and crowded so I would not recommend for a quite date night. We ordered the caprese flatbread which was amazing. I tried the grasshopper for the first time, but figured that I am not a dessert cocktail person, however my friend said that the cocktail was made to perfection. We got a table outside because of which our food went instantly cold which was still okay but I felt that there was a lot of lag in service due to outdoor seating .

Always a lovely dining experience. Most recently we did a goodbye lunch for a colleague with a semi private table and party family style menu. It was absolutely delicious and felt so special for our guest of honor. The cocktails are on point. A spot to keep in your regular rotation.

Ive only been here for drinks and they all have been delicious. The martinis are excellent and they also have a negroni sessions from 3-5 everyday for 10 dollars. Will definitely come back to try more. The chocolate negroni is a must try if you like negronis.

Date: Friday, May 9th, 2025 Time: 4pm Party of: 6 Reservation Made: via Resy about a few weeks prior Negroni Sessions Happy Hour: Daily 3pm-5pm *Caffe Negroni ($10) x2 *Americano 2.0 ($10) *Old Pal ($10) *Chocolate Negroni ($10) *Mezcalito ($10) x2 *Negroni Bianco ($10) Regular Menu: *Dante Martini ($21) x3 *"Dirty" ($19) *Focaccia ($14) *Olives ($8) *Espresso Martini ($21) x2 I've been to the other location in the West Village quite a few times for their martini HH. This year, my gf made a rezzie here. I didn't know they had a negroni HH instead, but hey, a HH is a HH. Plus, my gf loves negronis. We were seated at a giant high top wooden table by one of the bars in the smaller room by the restrooms. I believe I started with the Mezcalito - su casa mezcal, faccia brutto aperitivo, mancino ambrato, mancino secco, orange bitters. I myself am not a huge fan of negronis, but I had to try a HH cocktail. It was actually fine. Very easy to sip. Even tho I was tempted to save money and order another $10 drink, I ended up doing the dirty martini since I adore that version from the other location. Wasn't aware regular price was $19, so it being priced at $10 elsewhere is a steal. As is the dante martini. Am I glad I visited this location? Yes. But I do prefer the martini happy hour over the negroni sessions. I do like the chill vibe of this space more tho. The other one is a little too busy for me. REVIEW #3775

Can I give it 6 stars? This bar was absolutely incredible. I ordered the na cosmojito and the espresso shakerato, 100% recommend the espresso shakerato - it was so smooth and you can taste the vanilla and orange. I will definitely dream about that drink. Service was fantastic as was the ambiance. They have a very welcoming environment. If you're in town or a local this is a must try!

Caffe Dante was a wonderful experience for our group of 6. The food was delicious, the service great, and the cocktails amazing! Loved the music and the design and cozy, classy atmosphere. This was my husband and my favorite restaurant that we went to on our NYC trip.

    Mona N.

Sat at the bar for Negroni sessions which was an amazing experience for my Negroni-holic husband. I'm not as much a fan so ordered a different drink and was a huge fan. Love the coziness - will have to comeback for dinner at another time.

If you aren't doing negroni hour at Dante what are you doing?! 3-5 pm daily Dante has the best hh Negronis (with a whole page of options!) for only $10. Bartenders are so friendly and talented, and the negronis are top notch. The chocolate one is incredible- sweeter and smoother than the classic. You can't go wrong though!

Café Dante is a must for Negroni lovers -- their Negroni happy hour is absolutely worth it. Classic, well-executed, and a great deal for the neighborhood. I had the breakfast burrito for brunch. The salsa and guacamole were standout -- fresh, flavorful, and balanced. The eggs and brisket were just okay, a little underwhelming for the price and setting. But honestly, the overall vibe and the cocktails more than made up for it. Chill atmosphere, great service, and some of the best Negronis in the city -- I'll definitely be back.

Came here for a birthday dinner and had a wonderful time! The staff was super attentive, the inside is beautiful and the food was amazing. We started with the focaccia and the prawns which were absolutely delicious and must gets. We also got the fennel salad which I wouldn't necessarily get again as it didn't have much of a taste but had a good crunch. As a side we got the potatoes which were delicious as well with a delicious aioli sauce. For our mains we got the lemon tagliatelle which was delicious but my favorite pasta was the orecchiette and would absolutely get again. We also got the burger which was amazing! For dessert we got the tiramisu which was delicious and had a strong espresso taste and a variety of caffe panna ice cream scoops which never disappoint. Would absolutely come back!

What happy hour deals are available?

Hi I'm new to dining here. I saw on their web that the a la carte menu is available "from 5pm on saturdays and sundays," so which menu do they serve prior?

On weekends it's brunch menu only before 4 and I believe kitchen closes to prepare for dinner at 5.

Is outdoor seating too cold in January?

Yes probably!! It's not completely covered like other outdoor dining areas I've been in.

Will they let you store luggage someplace?

Does the patio area allow dogs?

I believe so but call before to be on the safe side.

Do they currently have happy hour and if so what are the deals?

Negronis are cheaper, happy hour is 3-5 pm

Is the outdoor section *actually* outdoor, or is it an enclosed space outside?

When I are there a month or so ago, the structure had 3 sides on it and open in the front. There is plexiglass between each table. There are heaters and I felt fine eating here in 30 degree weather. Also there are a few tables by the restaurant… Read more

Hi, do you serve dinner at this location?

    Yes

Are there heat lamps for patio seating in this cold weather?

    Yes

Is the outdoor seating on the sidewalk or in a backyard or rooftop?

    It's on the sidewalk

Hi, how can we get a hold of someone here? We tried calling multiple times and emailing and no one is answering and the email doesn't work.

Hi Tara, You can easily contact us through our website, or email me directly linden@dante-Nyc.com

Are reservations recommended, or should a table be easily available mid week for dinner?

You should absolutely make a reservation especially if you want to sit outside or not wait for 2 hours. The place is packed every night

Do you think they can fit a party of 14?

It would be hard since it's a small place

Our friends raved about this place and we of course were excited (and a bit skeptical at first) to try it. The concept: no menu + no lights + a few questions = the ultimate cocktail experience. The speakeasy vibe and the dark ambiance really makes this place feel even more exclusive. With just a few tables and the bar setting, you're in for an experience you won't forget (unless you answer the wrong questions and really end up with a drink you don't like HA). This wasn't my case. Of course I described my two favorite things: Negroni + mezcal. The obvious answer would be a mezcal Negroni, but that's not why one comes to a place like Attaboy. Our amazing curator came by to ask us all a few questions, write down a few words in the napkins, and mix up the perfect drink that our master bartender crafts, curates and creates. My drink came as I couldn't possibly imagine. It looked like a Negroni smelled like Oaxaca, with all the smoke simmering up and preparing my sensory experience, leading to the best first sip. Ladies and gentleman, I introduce you to The Devil's Backbone. A perfectly balanced drink I'll never forget, one that is sipped slowly and enjoyed thoroughly. It's sexy, it's smoky it's sipped. It adds a layer of character to the place, but what really keeps people coming back is the atmosphere and the drinks. The space is split into two levels: a two lively, sawdust-floored Taprooms downstairs and a more refined Parlor upstairs if you're in the mood for a quieter, cocktail-focused experience. I would have had to cancel and rebook and wasn't sure I'd be able to (reservation was for a Saturday night) In most places, a table for 3 easily accommodates 4. But not here. When two of us arrived, they made it clear this was a big problem. I would have walked out right then but I would have been charged $90! We decided to stay and make the best of it, which was a challenge. For a speakeasy, the vibe was aggressive, not relaxing. Very loud music and not great acoustics.) Too cramped to be comfortable, proving that small does not necessarily mean cozy! We asked if we could take a chair from the table next to us, which was empty (it was only 6 pm; I told our server we'd be gone by 7 because my friend, the birthday girl, had to catch a show.) We were told No! To say the waiter was cold, unfriendly, and indifferent is generous. He was totally rude. He literally told my friend she couldn't sit in a chair that was otherwise empty, knowing we'd be leaving momentarily. Then he had the gail to hand me the bill with a 22% tip pre-selected...and watched over me while I signed it! Definitely the least satisfying $100 I have ever spent. Disappointing. It was good to see my friends, but I so wish I hadn't picked this place. Never again.
