This is a super fun, trendy, and busy spot. It's definitely impossible to sit down without a reservation or even find standing room on Thursday - Sunday. Food was fine, I wouldn't say it's worth the price but I think you're paying for the experience! Service was also okay - they're just so busy so it can feel a little slow. Cocktails were delish and it's a very fun swanky spot!

Space is tight, not unexpected for the location of this restaurant. It was really busy on a mid-week visit. The food was good, but we had higher expectations that it didn't quite live up to. The martini flight, which was our primary draw to the restaurant, was fun - it includes a traditional martini (your choice of vodka or gin), a dirty pickle martini, and an apple martini. We both really liked the dirty martini and ended up ordering a full sized one. Recommend trying the martini flight if you are a martini fan.

Popped in here for a quick drink and the martinis are truly amazing! It looks like a cute date night spot so will definitely have to come back and try the food.

We just moved to the city back in August and I'm always asking locals where they eat so we can try the best that NY has to offer. Cecchi's was recommended as a place to come back time and time again. Space is sexy and moody with dim lighting and cozy vibe. Not too noisy though and a great spot to enjoy a date with the husband. Drinks were top notch and reasonably priced. Starters we enjoyed, the stuffed mushrooms bedded in the most delicious buttery sauce. Excellent. We also gave the lobster lettuce wraps a try and the meat was plentiful and fresh. For our main course we shared the Chicken Ala King and Steak and Fries. The chicken dish was the perfect comfort food and the sauce was worthy of a straw to finish up the last drops. Steak was prepared to perfection and I'm currently dreaming about the fries. Our server, Cameron was just amazing! He was helpful with menu selections, checked on us frequently and was just very service forward, expressing to us his love for his job and his opportunity to meet so many people as a result. Gem of a guy. Everyone else was also very helpful and genuinely nice! Side note, bathrooms are also very tidy. We left understanding why it was recommended and put it in our list of do overs.

Delicious just about covers it for this delightful restaurant near Union Square. Came fur a birthday party and dare I say it was perfect it creating a festive and flirty vibe for a 40th birthday soirée. We had a little of everything (stuffed mushrooms, caviar chips, and another app that I can't recall but was amazing) and everything was delicious. Server was impeccable in her attentiveness and knowledge of the menu, and our entrees hit the spot. We actually had the best time ever and I can now add yet another restaurant to my list of go to's!

Great spot for a lively dinner with excellent martinis. We were able to get a normal time reservation on a Saturday night a few weeks in advance. It's a very loud atmosphere so it's great for a small group or a fun date but maybe not for parents. The cocktails are delicious - a martini order is a must. And we loved all of the food. We have the Lobster Salad Lettuce Wraps, San Gennaro in a Blanket, the Striped Bass, the Pork Chop and the Chocolate Cake. Service here was great - not too overbearing but attentive. Overall I would recommend Cecchis for a fun dinner or for drinks and snacks at the bar.

What a great experience. The staff and service were incredible. Sexy, venue with nice muted lighting and vibes. Management walking around as well as staff making sure you have everything you require. Food was excellent. We were the first to try their new steak dish and it was worth it. Along with the starters of field greens, oysters, and others. The banana creme pie and cheesecake unfortunately didn't make the camera roll lol.

Great vibe! We came because we were able to grab a same day res for a party of 5. The drinks here are great. I got the "you're so cuke" martini and loved it. I also tried the espresso martini and appletini which were great drinks. For food I tried the Cecchi's burger. It was good and came with fries. For dessert we shared the cheesecake and chocolate cake. Chocolate cake was delicious and the better of the two for me.

Go to spot to sit at the bar and yap with a delish martini or cosmo and fries - bartenders are super friendly and lookout for you to make sure you get a seat if you've been waiting (shoutout to Stanley!)

TL;DR - Cecchi's blends elegance & comfort, offering a modern take on American classics in a setting that feels sexy, warm, and inviting. Expect fresh seafood & a menu that highlights quality ingredients. Located in the heart of the West Village (yay!), Cecchi's channels the energy of classic New York dining with a modern edge. The dim lighting, vintage-inspired interiors, and intimate yet lively ambiance make it perfect for a date night or a post-work meal with co-workers. Owner Michael Cecchi-Azzolina has curated a space that feels effortlessly classic yet fresh & exciting--when I was there, I even saw him at the bar chatting with guests. Having been here twice for dinner, I can confidently say Cecchi's delivers on consistency. The lobster salad lettuce wraps were light, fresh, and paired perfectly with housemade old bay chips. The half-dozen oysters (with mignonette & cocktail sauce) were refreshing, while the jumbo shrimp cocktail was a classic, well-executed choice (pro tip: add an extra shrimp for an even 4 pieces to share). The winter vegetables were a surprise--a braised & grilled cauliflower at the center made the dish look like roast chicken, complemented by charred carrot puree, roasted broccolini, and sweet & sour kumquats. I've tried both fish entrees, and each was flavorful and well-prepared. The zero-proof drinks menu is fun & well-crafted, with the "Not So Cuke" & "Spicy Nada-Rita" proving that mocktails can be just as exciting as their boozy counterparts. Cecchi's excels at reimagining American classics with refined execution & a focus on high-quality ingredients. It's elevated without being stuffy, modern yet timeless, and a solid go-to in the neighborhood.

I had the pleasure of a double date night at Cecchi's recently and it was an absolute knockout. We came in with a reservation on a Tuesday night and the place was packed! Always a good sign when you can fill your place on Tuesday. The hosts greeted us warmly at the door, and we were led to our table in the back room. The decor is arty and edgy without being over the top and the overall ambiance (lighting and sound) is warm and perfect for long dinner conversations with good friends or a date. (I was lucky enough to have both!) Our waiter was an old-school (but young) pro, giving us enough time to get settled but always on call. We listened to the speicials, which were all enticing, but decided to go with some of the fixtures. For me and my friend, that meant the Prime NY Rib (cipollini onions, lunchbox peppers, fingerling potatoes), but the pan seared pork hop and calf's liver are definitely on my radar for a future visit. We shared some starters--the lobster salad lettuce wraps, stuffed wild mushrooms (black truffles, breadcrumbs, grana padano), and apricot glazed ribs (yum) stood out. The steak was outstanding--juicy and perfectly medium rare, well complemented by the creamed spinach side. Throughout the evening, Michael, the eponymous owner of the restaurant, visited with us to make sure we were enjoying ourselves and that the food was great (which it was). My friend and I had both read his book (Your Table Is Ready) and he indulged our little Q&A with the author between courses. A chat with Michael, who's full of New York restaurant lore, is part of the experience at Cecchi's. While I'm not a martini drinker, they make a mean one here. The wine list, it should be noted, was also remarkable. They had an impressive collection of wines from around the globe, and I was particularly impressed with their local-ish bottles (they had a lovely Cab Franc from Long Island's Wölffer). All in all, a memorable, throwback dining experience that's so rare nowadays in NYC. Our only mistake was not budgeting more time so we could try the dessert. But we shall be back!

Very cool and cozy restaurant. Mid century new toe vibes. Waiters wearing red blazer. Snazzy experience. Very friendly staff. Good also a hit. Loved the burger!! Also the pickle bowl. Would get a 5 but it was a little loud and hard to hear. But would go back! We got the martini flight which was cute but can probably skip.

The…read morepull apart truffle monkey bread was our initial reason for coming, and although the price point was quite steep, I would say it's worth the try. The bread was fluffy and not dry, which I had seen previous reviews say before. Paired with the creamy truffle butter, it had a luxurious mouthfeel. My favorite was the pork chop (cognac, sweet prunes, bacon, rosemary) -- the sweet and soft texture of the prune was melted in my mouth like fat, and the pork was tender, with the rosemary also coming through. The vodka rigatoni was a skip, somewhat bland and one-note, we ended up putting some of the truffle butter and garlic aioli from the fries to make it more flavorful. This was especially in contrast with the spicy shrimp pasta which was much tastier. Also got the strawberry vacherin (strawberry ice cream, meringue, vanilla whipped cream), it was my first time having this dessert. The tartness of the strawberry was great with the fluffy meringue and the sweet ice cream. Service was extremely attentive, and the restaurant is beautifully decorated with moody lighting. Although the space was packed, it didn't feel too loud or crowded. We spent about two hours and didn't feel rushed.

I went on a Thursday night, and the place was absolutely packed. The front feels more like a bar/casual area, while the dining room is tucked toward the back. My reservation was at 10:15 PM, so I actually had a light dinner beforehand and ordered a little lighter than I normally would. I got: - Truffle Monkey Bread ($34.99) - Prime Rib French Dip ($39.99) - Pommes Frites ($13.99) - Banana Split Sundae ($24.99) I thought the prices were definitely on the higher end when I first sat down, but the Truffle Monkey Bread is divine! Honestly, it's probably in my top 3 bread experiences of my life. If you love truffle, butter, cheese, and basically everything good in life, please get this. It comes out slightly warm and is just incredible. I will probably dream about this bread. The French Dip was good, although it was a little too salty for me. If I get the chance to come back, I'd probably try one of their actual steaks instead. The pommes frites were super crispy, basically McDonald's fries but elevated. The Banana Split Sundae was so pretty. I loved how they placed all the little treats around the crevices/imprints of the dish (not sure how else to describe it ). It's huge, though, so definitely don't expect to finish it yourself. I'd recommend sharing it with 3+ people. I was also celebrating an anniversary, and they brought out a strawberry scoop for us. It tasted homemade and really fresh. I could actually see pieces of strawberry in it, which I loved. The restaurant is definitely on the pricier side, and getting a dinner reservation can be a struggle, but I'd absolutely go again if I got the chance. The decor is cozy and upscale, the food was excellent, and the whole place has a really nice atmosphere. My only real complaint was that our waitress kept pushing us to order more, which got a little annoying, especially since we had already ordered quite a bit. Overall: expensive + difficult reservation, but absolutely worth trying. And please get the truffle monkey bread.

Ambiance: This place has a nice ambiance, definitely very "New York" -- dark (you can't see how dirty the floor is) and loud music (maybe too loud). We sat upstairs (we had a reservation) and of all the people on the top there was a party of 4 (us), a party of 8 (all dudes celebrating something) and the rest of the tables were on a DATE - which I thought was funny. Service: We were served by Ann-Marie who was so delightful. She was kind, super nice, and took the time to speak to us (which is basically how we figured out she wasn't a native New York City person). She gave us good food suggestions and we were very happy with our selection. Food: Here is what we ordered * Steak Frites: My two boys got the steak frites and I have to say the steak was awesome! I had a bite of each of theirs and they each ordered it differently (one Medium Rare/Medium and one Medium) and they both were prepared PERFECTLY. The fries were overflowing. * Caeser Salad with Salmon: My wife got the salad with Salmon (they only have a few salad options) and she enjoyed it. * Prawn and Crab Risotto: I got this and I have to say it was VERY bland. I wouldn't get this if you are looking for taste. I had to put salt and pepper on it to make it have any semblance of taste. Value/Price: I would say this is not over priced but it is not cheap either...bill is attached. I would recommend it to folks who are looking for a good place to either go out on a date or a family type meal.

Did an earlier dinner on a Saturday with a friend at the bar. We got some similar items, some different. The thing I kept the same was my martinis and all three (sour cream and onion, tomato, and espresso) were just as amazing as ever. Food-wise, I stuck mainly to the classics with one new dish: - Pizza rolls: Very good but 3 pizza rolls for $20 felt small to me. I feel like I remember seeing others served more when I've gone in the past, but not completely sure. They're nostalgic and fun, nothing to die for. - Fries: Great as ever, we opted for just one of the sauces (avocado dill). - French Dip: This used to be cut in 3 pieces and now it's 2. Works well with a duo but I do think it's actually a little smaller now than before when I compare photos. - Samoa sundae: Still amazing, still so so worth. It was fun going with a friend who hadn't been before and seeing the joy upon trying the dish! Bar service is friendly as always and they do a decent job moving you along to ensure the necessary turnover without feeling too rushed.

Walking up after greeting you, the first question the door guy asks is if you have a reservation. After being let in (once you said yes), there is a another line at the host stand to verify the reservations, then to be seated. This area is a narrow space between the bar and the staff behind the podium so there will still be a smaller wait outside for those waiting to get in due to tight space. Once seated, the bartender Meaghan came over immediately to greet us, offering sparkling, still or tap water. Alongside your glass, there was a selection of citrus (lemon/lime/orange) or cucumber to add which was a nice touch. Although I already had an idea of what I wanted, I went a completely different direction once she mentioned the off-menu selections. This ended up being the heirloom tomato salad (I know, when the heck have I ever ordered anything like this) which was $20, and a side of their hand-cut fries, $13.95. You are to order everything at once, and they course it out accordingly. The people next to me ordered a lot of food; most of it the popular items which I veered away from with the exception of the fries. The party on the other side went with two items I was considering prior so it was nice to see what these looked like up close. The tomato salad was very good! I normally scrape off onions but I actually ate all of them and the taste didn't 'stay with you' which I was grateful for, while the basil flavor was a nice contrast. These were the larger beefsteak style tomatoes so I was fork and knifing this dish. I will admit this, along with the fries, were a little more salty than what I am used to but it was delicious overall. I almost considered a sauce with the fries but they honestly did not need it; the flavor was more than enough on their own. Wasn't planning on it, but I ended up adding the apple hand pies ($19) which were pretty good. They didn't have anything really chocolate-based, so this was the next best thing. Since they come in an order of two, I ended up taking the other hand pie to go. Restrooms are right past the bar, down a flight of steps and there are two single-sex doors. If you are seated at the bar, you pretty much have no reason to go past that into the dining room so it felt like a subtle off-limit area (and staff was there to direct you where to go). Truth is, I really didn't want to like this place. I didn't want to have to deal with scoring a reservation in the future however the food I had was decent (and there are still some items I want to try), service from the doorman, Meaghan, the food runners, and hostesses was fantastic, and the atmosphere was great. You may also end up talking to fellow diners comparing dishes, and it made for an enjoyable experience all around. I'd say it was worth it.
