Was told by First American Home Owners insurance that this is the company they use. We called for service on our locks (brand new home) and the tech Jason said he rekeyed them, and then left. We were left with broken door locks. The key just spun around in the key holder never catching to unlock the doors. He broke both locks. If your warranty company tells you to use them, don't. You'll be left with a home that you cannot lock. Further calls and text messages, the operator said, "it's probably your fault, you broke a key off in the door." We obviously did not and zero calls have been made to fix the problem. read more

Dan's Pro-Lock - Keys & Locksmiths Near Me

I went through my home warranty company and was assigned this vendor for a rekey. The technician did a total of 7 locks and was quick and efficient. I really appreciated him showing up right on time and he was so kind to my dog! 10/10 recommend. read more

Used the service for rekeying After the locksmith left, we were stuck outside our home in the evening as the new keys didn't work. I had to call another locksmith to open the door read more

Nick showed up on time and was so quick and helpful!! He even explained how the re-keying process worked and also made sure all the keys worked correctly. Really appreciate how quickly I was able to get an appointment and get a time slot that worked for me. Thanks again! read more

Nick...it was all Nick. He was quick, professional and an incredible teacher about the art and craft of locks. I learned so much from even having him visit. Thank you! read more

Nick came by to rekey our locks after we closed on our house. He was friendly, professional, and was kind enough to let me nerd out on what he was doing, explaining the rekeying process, and the pros and cons of various types of locks In the context of my home. He treated me as if we were friends and I couldn't be happier with his work. read more

Donald arrived on time! Very knowledgeable and rekeyed our door very fast! Highly recommend him! He was honest which I appreciated

This was a Lock Re-key event, and I wanted to have three locks use only a single key. I definitely got what I wanted! Communication was great. The only negative is that they arrived too early! I had planned on seeing them during the time period that stated which was 2 to 6 PM and I work from home so I had a call that was ending at 2 o'clock. The company contacted me at 1:10 to let me know that he would be there at 1:30, and I would not have been available. He texted me when he arrived to let me know he was there and I was on a call. Fortunately, the call ended early and I was able to go out and catch him before he left. He was very speedy in creating the keys for me and making them all work with the individual locks. read more

I would like to recommend Dans pro lock, technician Tony was super polite, knowledgeable and was very efficient. He drove a little over an hour to where I live and I'm very appreciative! Thanks so much Tony, being rekeyed gives me piece of mind and I have only one key now versus 4! read more

My home warranty company selected this place for me. Jaron was scheduled to go to my home and he ended up putting a hole in my door. I didn't end up noticing until he left. The lock also did not end up working correctly. I now had to schedule another appointment with a different locksmith which ended up being more out-of-pocket. I do remember contacting this company numerous times and they stopped answering once service was completed. I like to be fair to companies and workers, but this by far was very bad. If you have service on your home and there is a problem, don't bother contacting these guys. They won't come back. read more

Dan's Pro-Lock - Keys & Locksmiths Near Me

Had their tech sent out by our home warranty and there was a "miscommunication". They didn't tell us that someone needed to be on the property at the time of service so we rescheduled. Upon rescheduling, the lady kept calling from a blocked number so it was being sent to voicemail and when I called back she repeatedly said "I've been trying to reach you." No matter how many times I said "I don't care to argue with you I just want to make this appointment." Tech shows up again and started asking why he's even here??? Like what?? lol. So I told him this is a rekey service and he asked for the keys. I gave him the keys and he started arguing with me that I'll be charged a fee for him picking the locks even though I gave him the keys. He then started looking at me and speaking to me like I was utterly stupid so I asked for my keys back and asked him to leave. 1/10000. Do not recommend. I'm sure there's better techs with the company but not worth the gamble in my opinion. read more

Scheduled a rekey service for my new house with Dan's Pro-Lock through my home warranty. The locksmith did a great job, completed the work quickly (10-15 mins to rekey 4 locks) and was easy to work with. The only downside is that he was 20 mins late for a 4 hour, 10am to 2pm arrival window. This was pretty annoying since I wasted all morning sitting around just in case he suddenly showed up. I'm guessing that was likely a scheduling issue rather than the locksmith's fault because he was super quick, but it was a problem nonetheless. I did receive a message when he was on his way, which was great, but no one told me ahead of time that they'd give me such notice so I wasn't able to rely on it and get other things done with that time. read more

Had great, same day service from Dan's pro lock. Very professional and was even able to rekey a lock that had lost its key.

Courteous, professional and efficient. Apart from a little scheduling snafus this company was great.

Johnny, who came to help us was prompt, friendly, knowledgeable and very very helpful! We were alerted via text prior to arrival every step of the way so it was reassuring. Thank you! Glad we received your excellent service! read more

First of all I love the communication (texts) received throughout the use of this service. The information and notifications were helpful. Luey was our locksmith, he texted to schedule our appointment and answered any questions we had promptly before the service the day. He arrived on time, got to work and was out in a flash. We got what we needed and are grateful. I paid cash for a no key fee for one door lock. I didn't receive a receipt but the following day received a call from Tiffany in customer service asking if I had additional services added and if I received a receipt. I'll be getting that soon. Actually, more than a month later and no receipt, not sure what happened... Overall, easy and quick service. I'd recommend Dan's Pro-Lock and Luey for rekeying or locksmith needs. If you want a receipt ask your locksmith before he's quickly out the door. Thanks! read more

BEWARE. If your home warranty company sends you this contractor, DO NOT ACCEPT THE SERVICE. IT IS A SCAM. Your home warranty company is giving work to this unqualified contractor and they will give you nothing more than a headache. However, if you have unlimited time to waste and money to spend, then these are the guys for you. They did a rekey for us and botched the job. The lock literally FELL OUT of our door the other day when I tried to lock it, and the pins and springs exploded out everywhere. They refused to come back and put it back in. Turns out they don't stand by their work. Finally I agreed to the $35 service fee and JASON called me to schedule but we got disconnected and the phone number he texts from is fake so you can't call him back. I was told by dispatch that he would call me back so I cleared my entire Father's Day plans and waited by the phone all day. Waited all day the next day too. Nothing. They are extraordinarily disrespectful of the customer's time. They also give 4 hour time windows and have zero flexibility with working around your work/meeting schedule. Got a nice small business to come fix it for less instead. Much better! read more

These guys were great! Really quick turnaround in getting an appointment set up and keeping in touch during the whole process. Shout out to Jaron! read more

Was assigned this company through First American Home Warranty and had a seamless experience. I was contacted promptly within 24 hours of placing my request with First American. Scheduling was easy; I requested it to be done several weeks later to accommodate my schedule and there was no issue. They told me the prices of any additional work that could need to be done that wouldn't be covered ($10 to pick a lock, etc) so there were no surprises the day of. My time window was a reasonable two hours (9-11am). The locksmith (Alfredo) called me before 9 and told me he was 15 minutes away; once he arrived, he redid 11 locks in less than an hour. We had a few old stubborn locked doors for which we didn't have the keys and he had no issue with any of them. Payment was easy with cash, credit card, and even Venmo as options. No complaints and pleased with my service from both First American and Dan's Pro Lock. read more

I was assigned to them via American Home Shield and Andy who was assigned to our ticket was super awesome. Besides being friendly and professional, he got there early and was fast. But took the time to do it right as well, plus he was good while I checked all the locks and waited till I was done. I had a few questions and he was good with me asking away. They worked with me in my schedule of when I needed them there and I felt they were responsive. Plus it was literally a hour long window -- that I appreciate! I think I was the first in line that day. I was originally told a longer window -- but the tech told me it was shorter... no complaints on the shorter window time. I recommend them to everyone! I was super impressed. read more

Re key service was done expertly and efficiently. Zach, the locksmith was superb

For my rekey job, he met me at the door and introduced himself; he looked at my locks and took my key. I blinked a few times and he handed me my new keys and wished me a good day. Very friendly and efficient! read more

Unfortunately for me, I was sent to Dan's from American Home Shield Warranty of which I would never reccoment either. I was charged $75 for a re-key which they could not do. I paid them for installing a keyless lock but then they said they couldn't re-key it. Said they call back, 2 days later they wouldn't return my calls so I called THE KEY GUY and in less than an hour I had a key like all my other exterior keys. Should have called them in the beginning. It cost me $160 to not have a door keyed like others. What BS. I will never use Dan's again or buy another warranty from American Home Shield, what a rip-off. Tanker read more

My home warranty provider picked them for me. They are very flexible and were willing to come before or after hours to make it happen. My schedule changed so they came during the day and was even early! I judge people based on how my dog reacts to them and vice versa. My dog loved him and he took time to pet him. My dog was so comfortable he fell asleep during the appointment and even rolled on his back. I know that may seem crazy but he has never been wrong. He was quick and efficient. I think for the 5 locks it was under a half an hour. read more

Bay Area - Tony was great. He was able to accomplish what I requested perfectly. I'd recommend Tony for any locksmith needs!

Great job. Showed up early. Was respectful of home and upfront about costs and services.

This was a service call with our home warranty. They came out 24 hours later at my request. They could have done same day but I wasn't available. My husband said the locksmith arrived 15 mins early and took literally 8mins. Said the guy was cool and cordial too! read more

Update : the owner Dan contacted me and resolved the issue. This review is soley against one of the employees nothing to do with the company. This review is soley against Luis. Extremely upset. We got all of our door knobs completely changed out and with in one day none of the keys worked well. I called Luis and he told me he would be out of town for the rest of the month. He told me to go to home depot and get the 8 keys re made and he would zelle the money. Now that i got all 8 keys done. He now says "the keys worked fine at the warehouse i am not going to Zelle you the money" why even say to get copies of the keys and i would be reimbursed? Luis was extremely unprofessional and had horrible custome service. I do not recommend Luis from this company what so ever. read more
