AWFUL, horrendous experience. They quoted me $35 trip fee. Then once the first technician arrived, he quoted me $300. I told him that's not what I was quoted so he left. They then told me they'd send out another technician for the price I was quoted. He then tried to charge me $400! For two locks to be switched out. I'd already purchased the locks myself. All I needed was installation. When I told him that's not what I was quoted, he left the house without putting the new lock on. I tried to call the company to resolve the issue, and the person answering the phone just kept telling me "one second, one second," and no one would resolve the issue. Now after taking off work to wait for them and waiting over four hours, the locks still haven't been installed. The company has been a nightmare. Now here it is nighttime and they've left me without locks. Run from this company. A waste of money and a HORRIBLE, EXTREMELY STRESSFUL experience. read more

I needed him when we were really really in a bind. The moment I sent in the request he called me almost immediately. And even after that went on his way to my house. He met my brother-in-law so because we had already traveled and arrived overseas. My bro was there so that he could retrieve the wedding jacket my husband had to wear while we went to Nigeria. My brother-in-law was going to carry it in his luggage to send it deliver it to my husband. The locksmith took his time, was very patient, and left no damage to our house even though it was very hard to get into the front door. He tried the garage and eventually was able to finagle his way into the back door. Some people had tried breaking into my job site. And by 'breaking in', I mean they had keys. Apparently my employers never bothered to replace the locks when they leased the office space, and that was seven years ago. I had asked the assistant to get quotes from several locksmiths I had found on Yelp and one that I'd personally used in the past. Out of about five that she called, Golden Locksmith offered the lowest rate to replace the lock. One locksmith quoted a rate that was about $20 lower but it was only to rekey the old lock. So for that small of a difference, we decided to replace. I believe the technician showed up within a couple hour of them getting the approval to do the job. It took the technician about 20-30 minutes to replace the lock, and then he offered something that would give us a discount, which we accepted. He also gave us five new keys for the lock for everyone that needed one. Now the office has a brand new lock and we couldn't be happier with the Golden Locksmith's service. The tech canceled our appointment the morning of because he said he could not get in touch with me. During booking, I notified this guy that I will be working the night shift at my job so I will be unreachable until around the appointment time. I reached out 30 min before and he said tough luck and I can Reschedule. ​I called the office and the lady started off rude and said I never had an appointment. Once she realized she was mistaken and I was able to mention the techs name that conversation went a little better. BUT, find another company. Firstly, the manager is a coward and absolutely refuses to return any calls or messages. I paid $229.00 to have my home unlocked for our dog sitter, when I returned home I found they drilled out the lock (which destroyed it) and no one will even talk to me about any recourse for my damaged property. We lost the key to our electrical box and needed a rekey or new lock. Scheduled time 8-10am. When we called for ETA, we were given 30 min at 915am. He didn't show up until 1015. He said the box needed a lock changed. After changing locks and completing work, I went upstairs to see the "missing" key was inside the unlocked box. The locksmith could have told me it was there and just charged for unlocking instead of a new lock for $146. Very frustrated of their untimeliness and dishonesty. Won't be using them again. In response to Joey: As a small business owner myself and knowing the times we are in, I would not try to damage anyone's reputation or business. What would I gain from telling lies? The fact that you would even accuse me of that shows me exactly what type of business you run. The truth: Your tech came in at 1015 (schedule time at 8-10a, so he was ALREADY late). I showed him where to go, he explained he had to change the lock and it couldn't be rekeyed. He changed the lock, come downstairs and I paid him. I did not show him any key nor barely had a conversation with him, as I was downstairs with my two small children and already pissed about his lateness AND NO APOLOGY. The first time I was locked out of my vehicle, that locksmith gave me ambiguous estimates over the phone, came hours late, and charged me nearly double the "estimate" for a key that barely worked. This time, I lost my keys, and in a panic, I found and scheduled first local locksmith I could find that promised "fantastic service", "not like other locksmiths" and "Guaranteed to be a repeat customer!" on their website. However, when I called them over the phone, I saw the familiar picture and already knew how it was going to go down. After digging deeper through Yelp, BBB, etc., I found they had a lot of complaints. I was able to find Golden Locksmith and cancelled that previous appointment. With no expectations, I called them over the phone, scheduled the appointment during business hours, gave them details and asked for a quote (which I actually got). The next day, Nico came, was extremely patient as I couldn't get my apartment garage door open for a while, and he made my key. Nico also wore a face mask, was professional and super chill. Had my key made for the exact quote over the phone. So i told her no that is not the address I gave her and began to slowly tell her my address again she stops me mid sentence and says she feels like I am getting an attitude with her there was no tone in my voice So i politely said to her no that is okay and moved on to a different vendor. Terrible customer service! Called at 5pm yesterday to schedule having two key fobs programmed for our Jeep... answering service said that someone would call me within three minutes! At 5:15pm, after no one reached out to me, I called again... this particular woman said that the answering service was incorrect and should never have told me "three minutes"???? She said that someone would call me as soon as possible? About 15 minutes after that second call, a man called and quoted a price of $145 and he was going to call me before coming out (we agreed to the 9am-10am window)... Got locked out of my car. I called and gave them my info. They said a locksmith would reach out to me in 5 min and give me estimate and ETA. I waited 20 min. No call. I called again. I was told my case would be reassigned to another locksmith and would receive a call in 5 min. I waited another 20 min. No call. The lady on the phone said she would reach out to the locksmiths to see what the problem was and would call me back in 10 min. I waited 15 and called her. She says the locksmiths were probably really busy, and they could schedule something for tomorrow. I asked for a ballpark estimate and she said there would be a $30 trip fee to get to me plus around $130 to take the key out of my car. Terrible service. I recommend Pop-a-lock. I can't say enough good things. Our situation was very different from most, being a huge vault door and on board a ship, in urgent assistance on a particular day while in port.
