Have probably 20 different burgers named for classic sports figures. Can't wait to go back and try some. Great place if you're an old, white republican. There's a rant printed on the menu about Obama, Pelosi, Clinton, and Sanders. At the register, there's a candle with a pic of Trump where I assume Jesus' face would be. The food was not cooked per our request. Asked for corned beef hash to be burnt to a crisp, it was wet mush. Wow I don't know what to even day but its a dirty greasy looking place besides I'll never know how bad the food was because of thE "snowflake" chalkboard instead of a menu and on the dirty looking menu it attacks All liberals and talks about Obama and Pelosi while I'm looking to order freaking pancakes. I am leaving this restaurant 1 star. I have been ordering with door dash due to covid shutdowns. Many restaurants have not included silverware, sauces and Napkins which I would assume to be common sense. I ordered here for breakfast and called VERY nicely to make sure they include everything especially syrup for the kids pancakes. The mans tone changed on me and said "Ma'am we always include those items with all or ordered in a rude tone and HUNG UP ON ME" Im sad that I spent a dime here to be spoken to this way. He should have realized that if I was concerned about this, there was a reason why. This is the worst customer service experience. Please rethink who you allow to answer the phones. read more

This diner was recommended to me by a family member so I decide to try it out with my wife. There was only one other customer in the place when we arrived but it was after 9 am on a Monday so I didn't mind. It was a local spot so "why not"? So the waiter/owner/host Col was very animated and friendly but the waitress his wife seemed a little irritated that we asked her to give us a few minutes to review the menu. Once she returned, she didn't seem too attentive. My wife ordered eggs which even after a very descriptive order, still came out overcooked. I received a recommendation to try out this restaurant, to potentially hire them to make 2,000 meals for the homeless at a special event later this year. Well, I like to secret shop to see how the workers or owner treat people before I hire someone, so I came in this morning disguised as a Door Dash delivery worker. The treatment that I received as soon as I walked in the door left me speechless. The gentlemen who "greeted me" who I heard say to another customer that his name was Dano, didn't say Hi, welcome in, or anything of the sort, or even assume I may be a customer. He immediately said in a very abrasive tone, "if you're delivery it'll be a minute ok!" Maybe he mistook me for someone else I thought, or possible was talking to someone else, so I walked closer to make sure I understood he was talking to me. Then he said, annoyingly, "Are you mobile or delivery? DoorDash?...literally ONE second passed if that, before I could even respond and he rolled his eyes, turned and walked away and said sarcastically "Oh neither oh ok." And left me standing there. I was appalled. As I walked out he said again sarcastically "ok go make some money and come back later." Rude and nasty for no other reason that I can gather but my appearance. Let me start off by saying this is a great place for military to grab a meal. OK now with that said, let me get into the business. My buddy brought me too this place one day after work. I saw if from the outside and thought, great another shopping mall restaurant. It looks like a normal start up diner with low to medium potential. Once I walked threw the door I knew I was wrong. This place epitomizes the 50's style diner perfectly. Everything about this place screams down home diner. From the style of tables and booths to the sports memorabilia on the walls. From the wrap around bar style seating to the giant chalk board telling you about today's specials with small funny comments peppered in. The second you walk in, you're greeted by a load booming gentlemen that tells you to take a seat anywhere you would like (if your in uniform and enlisted you are automatically Sargent Major). The initial bewilderment of this greeting is replaced by the dialog that this man (the colonel) engages you in. He makes a point to have a conversation and get to know everyone that walks through the door. Once you sit down and look at the table-mat style menu you notice that all of the dishes have their own name (all old/current baseball players, keeping up with the decor on the walls). The food here is basically if you took the menus from every diner from across the country and put it on one menu. I've noticed that usually when establishments attempt this it brings down the overall taste of the whole menu by spreading themselves to thin. Some how they deliver on every item. Keep in mind that the food is diner style, so when you get your burger it will have a bun like you would get at Costco. The thing to remember is that the burger itself compiled with the unique toppings of ingredients is what makes this place do great. From the Whitey Ford ( a burger with the cheese cooked on the inside) to something as crazy to The Pujouls (a burger with cheese it's cooked inside and outside the burger). This place isn't only just a burger joint, they also have good cheese steaks (even chicken) and this is the only place I know of that serves funnel cakes ( I about had a fawns heart attack when I saw and tried this). The service is good with the waitress on top of everything you need (if the colonel doesn't bring you your food himself). I guess if I had to sum this whole thing up I would say that this is the perfect place to get that home style diner charm, where you can get a great conversation and some good food. Especially if your in the military and enlisted. Honestly if you don't like the place and you think my review is over the top, Nick the Greek is two doors down, but do yourself a favor and give this place a try. read more

Now I have been here a few times before. It's fun and the food is pretty good. "The Colonel" is quite the unique fellow but he wasn't there. Bummer He had one of his daughters there holding down the fort. I have eaten a few burgers here from the Reuben Gomez to the Wally Johnson is a burger with breakfast on top. Went here to satisfy my waffle craving after passing up Metro Diner due to a super long line as usual. Got a strawberry waffle and a side of corn beef hash. Hubby got chicken and waffles which he proclaimed it to be better than Metro Diner's :P They don't add their fruit on top of the waffle like I usually like, it's cooked in it. And the waffles are much smaller than usual waffles. Then again, I don't think they're Belgian waffles. Nonetheless, I was really satisfied with the meal ;) would've gave them 5 stars if the place looked cleaner. Located in the most underrated strip mall at the beach I think!! Went to this gem today for breakfast and I wasn't disappointing. The menu had the right type of items for a place like this the gal who took my order was pleasant. Food came out quickly and well portioned. The cost of this great breakfast was so cheap I had to look at the bill twice as I couldn't believe it. They looked a little busy, but there were still open tables and a ton of counter seats open. As I walked in, nobody greeted me. In fact, I had to dodge the waitress as she almost ran into me. I took a seat at the counter, and sat and waited for over 10 minutes. No service. The two idiot waitresses walked past me several times and didn't even make eye contact. They even helped another counter patron who sat down after me. I couldn't believe it. I've served all my life and never would I ever treat a customer like that. COMPLETELY RUDE. I will never be back. OMG! The best burger in town!!! The colonel will keep you guessing with what's coming out of his mouth next he is definitely a larger-than-life character with a larger than life menu. When Miss man Cooks he cooks from his soul I tell you you can taste every ounce of love in those burgers. My favorite is the bacon cheeseburger crispy bacon salty juicy meat soft fun fresh toppings this place has it all. His wife is a great job slinging all those plates around and keeping a fun friendly environment while keeping a food seriously amazing. If they would let me leave a 0 star review I would. I never bother leaving negative reviews but this place goes beyond the pale. The owner is creep and a sexist. The biscuits and gravy tasted like glue, the corned beef hash was out of a can, the grits were flavorless and watery, and the hash browns were somehow over cooked and under cooked at the same time. You would be better off eating at Waffle House. Despite what the reply says, I did not yell across the room. We attempted three times to get the server's attention, and she ignored or did not see us, so my partner said "excuse me", and we were still ignored, so I repeated "excuse me mam" but a bit louder, as I thought she might not have heard us. The owner IS sexist pig, it doesn't matter how he treats his daughters, he called my partner "princess" and refused to stop when we asked him to, it made both of us very uncomfortable. He went on to loudly call every woman in the restaurant princess extra loudly to rub it in our faces. Then he informed us that women were not allowed to pay in his restaurant(sexist). He is a pig. There is a big difference between humor and being a huge jerk, and the owner is waayyy on the jerk side. And, I assure you, the food was trash. I wouldn't have bothered with the review if it wasn't.
