Small and clean place in a strip shopping center by the hospital. You can smell the meat when you come in. Friendly and speedy service. I went with the two meat, combo plate with turkey breast and pulled pork. The turkey was tasty, and the pulled pork was pretty good. Both were helped by the sauces. And a couple of the sauces had a nice little spicy kick. The side of collard greens and field peas that I had were straight out of a can. A good BBQ place but not great. More reasonable prices than most joints. I'll probably come back again to try some of their other meats.

was referred to this place as being one of the best bbq joints in town but unfortunately, it didn't live up to the hype. granted, we did order to go and had a 30 minute drive. we ordered two, two meat combos. we got smoked chicken, pulled pork, ribs, and brisket. for sides, we got coleslaw, hush puppies, and fried corn. the good news was that the ribs were delicious. super moist, smoky, and tender. i could've finished a rack to myself. the brisket was a little on the dry side and not much smoke flavor that i'd hope for. the smoked chicken had good smoke flavor and was dry as well. the pulled pork didn't have much seasoning or smoke flavor either. for the sides, the cheese curds and hush puppies were great and super tasty. but the fried corn wasn't anything special. couldn't really taste the natural corn flavor. despite all of this, i will give the benefit of the doubt that we did order to go and had a long drive. the staff were super friendly as well. this review won't deter me from coming back. i agree it would've been better to dine in, which i will do next time.

I stopped at Danny's Bar-B-Que for lunch. It is located near the Wake Med Cary hospital. There are two entrances to the restaurant and both will lead you to the counter to order. After you order and pay, you find a seat and your food is brought out to you. The dining area is a good size and the sauces are on the table so you can try a bunch of them. If you need a drink refill, you just take your cup back to the counter. I went with the chopped pork plate and chose fries and a half of corn on the cob. It came with a slice of Texas toast. I'd return and try some other items on the menu.

Have been coming here since it first opened & owner on site. Miss it being in MORRISVILLE! The portions of pork have decreased & price increased. I still love the sweet bbq sauce the best & the baked beans. Remember to ask for your Texas toast to be toasted on both sides. The blackberry cobbler doesn't have the great taste I recall. Waitresses still very nice. Park on the back side as front side parking has other store front names listed.

Our meal for lunch.

The smoked meats here are absolutely delicious!!! I had the brisket and chicken. Collard greens were ok (too many stems). The backed beans were delicious also. The banana pudding was good (only one slice of banana is the cup). The down side is the food is pricey.

I ended up here after a horrible experience at O Charley's. They made for a nice save! Simple place, but the food was good. I was looking for more of a after work hang out so I took the food to go and walked to a nearby bar. The brisket sandwich was great in the most simple way. Good fries! And the price was more than reasonable.

Cute pig log

Service was great. Order at counter and pay before sitting down. Green beans were really good. Turkey was decent.

Bottom line: I had a good beef brisket plate for lunch recently at Danny's Bar-B-Que. Do not be daunted by the line to the counter to order as the turn around time in getting your meal once ordered is pretty quick. Delicious results, and I am a fan! The Deets: I had the chance to finally visit Danny's Bar-B-Que for lunch recently with a group. There is plenty of parking around a corporate part/shopping center area. Once inside, there is ample seating available both in booth and table formats, some large enough for a small group. Customers queue up and wait in line to go up to the counter to order at the register, and while you are in line you get to peruse their rather sizeable menu up on the wall. There was a little bit of a wait to get to place the order as the line was good sized but it was not a horrible wait time. All sorts of Southern delights are available on their menu such as pulled pork barbeque, beef brisket, chicken tenders, chicken wings, turkey breast, smoked chicken, pork spare ribs, even catfish and beer battered cod on the menu. When I got to the counter, my choice was the small beef brisket plate with two sides and Texas toast (I always imagine in my head the pronunciation being "Tex-uz" and don't ask me why). I chose as my two sides the creamy cole slaw and French fries. We took our seat at our table and I have to say, turnaround time to get the food was really quick, a definite plus for lunch time goers. My beef brisket was pretty tasty and not dried out for the most part, very good, and enhanced by the availability of the different type of barbeque sauces available on the table such as sweet, hot, mustard style, etc. I recommend use of the sauces to maximize your taste experience here. The sides of cole slaw and French fries were equally good as well. I can see why many people I know say that you need to stop by Danny's Bar-B-Que if you have not done so, and I am glad I finally did.

I had such an amazing experience at Chicken Salad Chick today that I felt the need to share it. My…read moredaughter and I stopped in for lunch, and my daughter had previously worked there. The franchise manager immediately recognized her -- not only by face, but by name as well. He asked how she had been doing and was genuinely excited to see her. As a parent, that absolutely blew me away. This is someone who has worked with countless teenagers over the years and has likely experienced plenty of turnover, yet he still remembered my daughter personally. That kind of leadership and genuine care for employees is rare these days. The manager was just as incredible. A while back, my daughter needed to step away from work for personal reasons, and I encouraged her to have that conversation with him herself. One of the values I try to instill in my kids is taking ownership and learning how to communicate directly and responsibly. When she spoke with him, he was kind, welcoming, and willing to truly listen. He made her feel comfortable, reassured her, and simply told her that whenever she was ready to come back, she only needed to let him know. Then today, when we walked in, he greeted her with the same kindness and excitement. He called her by name, asked how she was doing, and even asked if she was ready to come back to work. Moments like this say so much about a company's culture and leadership. Great food is one thing, but great people are what truly make a business stand out. In a world where many workplaces barely know their employees, it speaks volumes when leaders take the time to genuinely know and value their staff -- especially young employees just starting out in the workforce. Thank you for creating an environment that makes people feel seen, remembered, and appreciated. That leaves a lasting impression. Tara J

We opted for a Classic Carol on a croissant, that was a very good chicken salad; and the Cranberry Kelli on their signature wheat bread, that tasted exactly like the classic carol: good, but no tang or visible cranberries, and the barest visual hint of a thinly sliced almond. We both opted for the pasta salad side, which was visually appealing, yet remarkably bland... some dressing here would have helped. Worth the trip, but not as inspired as it might be.

Only reason I give four stars is the price. It is a little more expensive than some of the other bagels in the area. A bacon egg and cheese cost me over $10 today. First, the menu is written on the wall, but it looks like it may have been written years ago because much of it is nearly illegible--as the picture I included shows. When I asked the gentleman taking my order what the menu said and what some of the options were, he seemed almost as unaware as I was. Instead of helping me understand the menu or offering a few popular choices at different price points, he began making higher-priced suggestions that really weren't very helpful. At that point, I finally just asked for an egg and cheese sandwich because I figured that was something simple and safe to try. And I'm glad I did! The egg and cheese was actually very good, and honestly, that is the only reason I didn't give NY Deli a lower rating. The food showed me that there may be a lot of potential here--the ordering experience just needs some serious attention. Please consider rewriting the menu on the wall so customers can actually read it, providing paper menus, making sure staff are familiar with the menu and can offer helpful recommendations, or preferably a combination of all three. Good food shouldn't be this difficult to order. Make the experience as good as the sandwich was, and I'd be much more inclined to come back.

You walk in and have a little self-type market area and immediately to the right there are refrigerators with prepared meals to buy and take home. Straight after the Shelf section there is the butcher shop with all cuts of meats. I liked the concept where you could even pick your meats and have the chef cook them there for you and you can dine in! They also had an area for dining in and sitting at a bar. The bar had many choices of drinks and a wine section in the back to the side. There was a patio area as well. I decided to have some lunch so I got the salmon BLT which was delicious and I got the side of hot honey brussel sprouts. I ordered some lasagna to take home for a meal later. The salmon was cooked perfectly at a medium temperature and the flavoring was great. The brussel sprouts had just enough kick to them and was a great portion size for two or more. The lasagna was good and also a good size but it is a little bit spicy so if you dont like spice be prepared for a little tiny bit. All was delish. The pricing for everything is on point and not too expensive. They also have specials most of the days of the week! Peyton helped me with my to go orders and I met Ralph the owner who told me about the concept of everything. I will definitely be back and I would highly recommend! Second time back was wonderful! Sat and dined in. I got the $1 wings special with barbecue, mac and cheese, and salmon salad. The wings were jumbo size which is great because unlike other places they weren't the size of your pinky. The mac and cheese was very flavorful with the small crisp. The salmon salad was neat because it came and deconstructed segments so you could really pick which toppings you wanted on each bite. The dressing on it was amazing and so was the ranch for the wings. I was attended to by Desiah and Liam who were other so personable and lovely! All of the portions are amazing and I love it because I have food for a few days. Definitely going to come back again to try some of the new items that they've added to their menu.

Impression of the atmosphere is part restaurant/part butcher shop/part bar (see pics). The Steak Tips Diane menu selection was delicious as well as satisfying and service was great. I wish I could go with 4.5 stars here! The Deets: I had passed this butcher shop/restaurant a few times as well as seeing some reviews on the local Yelp traffic online. I recently got to try out New York Butcher Shoppe & Wine Bar for a very late lunch. This review is for eating at this establishment, not for their butcher shop, just a heads up. Being mid-afternoon, it was not crowded and as the sign said to seat myself, I did. I took in the surroundings when seated at my table...a blend of eatery and butcher shop, with a dedicated bar in the back corner as well. It does not really dedicate to any of those atmospheres, not a pure restaurant setting nor entirely a butcher shop either, but a hybrid. There are shelves with wine offered, most everything you would need for meat prep/cookout use, and refrigeration units along the walls containing prepared meals for sale as well. There is a good amount of seating but I can see that it could get crowded on a busy night here. The server/bartender that afternoon came over to pleasantly greet me and take my drink order. He did a great job explaining the menu, what was offered, and answering any questions. Of course, the menu is mostly meat-based meals/items for the majority if not all of the selections (except for sides, of course). Since it was a late lunch, I was hungry but did not want a huge meal so I decided upon the Steak Tips Diane to enjoy. Since at this part of my visit I was the only one seated, I could hear what I imagined was my order searing, being prepared and it made my mouth water. When the Steak Tips Diane arrived, it was a nice presentation and hot/freshly made. The accompanying sauce was delicious and definitely made the dish, so much so that I am not usually one that eats a lot of mushrooms but I did so here so I could enjoy the sauce with them. The steak tips were cooked nicely, it was an adequate portion but I would not have been adverse to having a few more steak tips here to enjoy, of course! Underneath was a very generous portion of creamy polenta, this side worked well with that wonderful sauce. During the meal, not only did my server check to see if I was enjoying my meal/needed anything but the staff in the kitchen/behind the counter came out to check on me as well, it was very appreciated. Price point, not the cheapest meals around but of course you are working with premium meat selections and there are moderate as well as more expensive choices to consider on the menu. I enjoyed my late lunch stop at New York Butcher Shoppe & Wine Bar, the atmosphere is not really one of a dedicated restaurant so know that going in, but the food and service were the main pluses here.
