I suggested to Henry to call Rich at Bronxdale Auto. He did, Rich got to Henry within an hour, saw and solved the problem in 10 minutes and charged Henry NOTHING! Henry has a new friend for life. I can't say enough about Rich. He might take a little longer then some shops but he is thorough, reasonable, HONEST, and knows his sh_t. Thanks Rich.

I pull up to this shop after getting a recommendation that there was a good Volvo mechanic nearby. I talked to Lance and another mechanic who told me where the Volvo guy was. But then Lance says his mechanic will take a look, that he's the "Swede from Jamaica" and can fix a Volvo. After testing a couple things -- including an electrical test which my joke of a mechanic in Brooklyn would never do -- he tells me to take it for a test drive. The sputtering is gone and I end up driving it all the way to Boston that night. This mechanic, I wish I knew his name, is sitting down drinking a beer when I get back from the test drive. He won't take any of my money, and probably didn't tell me what he did because it was some little thing I messed up during my home tuneup. Take your cars to this scrappy, honest shop with years of experience hidden away off Boston Road. You'll be glad you did.

Tony, the knowledgeable mechanic with whom I conversed with and who managed the repairs of my car was courteous before and after. He described the best and least expensive solution regarding my car repairs, the specifics being either I have my car's engine replaced or I could donate my car it to a charity. I decided on an engine replacement. The workmanship was timely and professional. I revisited the shop twice for minor adjustments during which I received immediate service, satisfaction and assurance.   Comparing auto shops to others visited with good, bad or indifference, my impression of Lance Auto Repair expertise to be excellent and their pricing to be fair. I totally recommend Lance Auto Repair to those who seek satisfaction.

Starting from Wanda at the front desk who spoke calmly to me with heart and humor on to Mike and Joshua -the burly, bearded wizards of workmanship and maestro mechanics; and ending with the super helpful and feisty Jessica who cashed me out. Indeed even the other mechanics I encountered around the shop seemed available and ready to help. I'm a nationally touring family entertainer and my van IS my business. Full stop. Like most everyone if I can't drive I can't work. It's my chariot to glory, or my junk heap to the agony of disappointment for 100's of children if it doesn't work and the show CANT go on. But I've lived my 33 years as an entertainer that the show MUST go on and the team at Prestige Automotive in beautiful NYC are all now part of that deep-rooted tradition. THEY are to thank and to be appreciated and applauded. I hit a worst case scenario at during a Friday rush hour on Manhattans packed West Side Highway. Did is mention it was a FRIDAY MANHATTAN RUSH HOUR!? Total caca hitting the fan. My engine went haywire, lights and power flickering and fluttering like the big finale of a Las Vegas show. I was dead in the water. I made a hasty internet search and stumbled upon Prestige's Yelp reviews and made my decision due to the many excellent reviews (Yelp helped save the day too). Called and Wanda's steady and warm customer service sealed the deal. The first interaction in ANY biz is the most important moment and Wanda is the key player here. After a crazy hook up, tow and amazing maneuvering in a packed Harlem side street (kudos to Autorama who towed me off WSH) I was in the capable hands of Prestige. One great indicator was seeing a NYPD cop car in the shop. If they work on police cruisers they have to have the mojo. Prestige is the quintessential NY outfit with a hardworking friendly staff who all deserve raises and a standing ovation. Thank you.

I had a terrible experience here and would not recommend this shop to anyone. They advertise…read morethemselves as a "complete foreign & domestic repair shop," but when I asked about an engine replacement, the mechanic said they don't do that at this location. Fine--that's their choice. I already have a better shop and is replacing my engine they maybe thought I was broke or who knows but anyway way the real issue is that after leaving my car, several of my personal belongings disappeared. Guest what they did, they left my car in the street for a few days without any consent or like if my money isn't worth anything. I lost two toolboxes worth over $500, Ray-Ban sunglasses ($200), my EZ Pass, charging cables/adapters, perfume, clothes from my backpack, also a head unit that was in green box and more. On top of that, I paid their diagnostic fee (which I don't mind since that's part of their job), but when it comes to my missing belongings, I'm the one who takes the loss. It's been 3 days and I still haven't gotten a single answer or resolution from the shop. Items don't just vanish into thin air. The worst part is the complete lack of responsibility or concern from their side. The reviews may make this place look like a trustworthy shop and that's the reason I came here for, but my experience was the opposite. Be very careful leaving your car or belongings here, because once something goes missing, you're on your own.
