Also had an issue with my trunk that they were able to do diagnostics on but I ended up not getting fixed since it would have cost me quite a bit. This shop is a complete rip off, apparently estimates can change at any time coming from the shop so be careful screenshot and print out your initial estimate because they change on a day to day basis, and you do not receive a new link or an update even after you have signed to approve the previous estimate. This shop also waits to see what the insurance is paying out and match that exact payout so cost of labor and cost of the exact same parts magically change exponentially based on what your insurance is willing to pay. I would not recommend this place, and I will never do business with them again. Plus, the old guy in the front is very rude and have no customer service skills. I am very pleased with the service that I received at Jerry and Son's. Who would have thought that bringing my car there for a simple oil change would result in this review. They have this great system that takes pictures of different parts of your car and stores it in the computer for future reference. As a female, I am always hyper aware and feel like I am being scammed. I didn't feel this way at all here. Chris was super nice, engaging and explained the photos to me in detail. Their system also classifies what work is needed immediately, can wait a little and eventually needs to be done. The link to these results were sent to my phone and email. On March 28th l took my car to Jerry and Son Auto Service. My car's tachometer needle was bouncing up and down. The Idle Control Valve and hoses were replaced. The Service Advisors recommended that 3 additional parts needed to be replaced on the car, because the car was having a "visible major engine oil leak" and if not fix it could worsen even more as time went on. I did not notice oil of any kind underneath my car or on top of the engine. I also checked the engine's oil and it was always full so I decided to take my car to another mechanic shop where different mechanics inspected my car. I told these mechanics to not hesitate fixing whatever leak or parts my car needed. After the car was thoroughly inspected, their response was: "There is nothing wrong with your car. We did not find any engine or transmission oil leak, and you do not need any parts of any kind to be replaced". Based on this experience at Jerry & Son Auto Service, I will say that my trust in them as a reputable business that they project has disappeared, and I advise those visiting this business to be very cautious. Jerry and Son auto service, robbed me. I took my car for in for AC repair. I needed an O-ring which costed me a total of $5.40. I was charged $135.00 for labor, which is fine. Where I was robbed, they charged me another $135.00 for labor on the FREON. Not even Nissan service charges labor by the part. All my friends, agree, I was over charged. What's worse, they think I was over charged because I'm a woman. I'm so incredibly disappointed in Jerry and Son. I will never recommend them to any of my friends and family. Never will I ever go to this auto shop again. I had a flat tire & wanted it patched. After waiting for 20 minutes they finally took my car in. This is after they finish working on their friends tire. The guy struggled with my tire for one hour. Never has it taken anyone one hour to patch a tire!! When they gave me back my car, my rim was scratched! Because the retarded worker didn't realize you have to unscrew the bolts before you take the rim off the car, stupid. They changed me $25 to scratch my rim & then put the tire back on flat with no air in it. When I questioned him he said he forgot. As I started to drive off I realize he did not return the wheel lock. When I requested it he couldn't find it and then he realize he left it connected to the rim. SMH. do not waste your time and go to this auto shop. Do not go here unless you want your car to be more screwed up than it already is! read more

Not once have I felt ripped off or did they make me wait too long to service my vehicle regardless the issue. However, most people do need to understand that they have scheduled appointments with their mechanics. A walk in can't just be taken care of immediately although I guess I've been lucky two out of two times because they see my vehicle right away. Where should I begin as there are a few issues to address with the father and son auto shop. I will first address the service to my car and the overall customer service with Jerry and Sons auto shop. I am recanting my initial favorable review as result of the issues stated in the narrative below. Months back, I brought my car in to replace my 02 sensor. After it was replaced there at the shop, I had to come back later that day as my engine light kept coming on as though it was never replaced. I called them to let them know that the engine light came back on and Chris told me to bring it in immediately which I did. Luckily I only live 5 minutes away yet I was not thrilled having to make a second trip as I was very busy that day. When I got there and the mechanic assessed the problem with my engine light coming back on and come to find out they put the wrong O2 sensor in. However, the problem was fixed that same day on my second trip to the shop. I just had my rear brakes replaced at the expense of a third party agency paying for the repair. I had told Chris and Apyrl that my front brakes that were recently replaced a few months ago there and they were squeaking. Chris said he would look into it. I was just recently there to replace my rear brakes and I had reminded them to look into it if they could. Chris and Apryl assured me that they would look into. Yet they didn't as a result of one the mechanics who test drove concluded that it was not squeaking. Apyrl even confirmed that she heard my vehicles brakes squeaking after the mechanic test drove my car and parked in the shop's parking area. I asked the mechanic "did it squeak when you test drove it?" He confidently said "no". After she noted the squeak in my car I asked her pointedly "Can Chris look into"? She said "no he doesn't need to." Frankly, that didn't make a lot of sense in my opinion and Apryl is quick to say one thing and yet do another. Also in my opinion Apryl is bit arrogant and has a chip on her shoulder. FYI Apryl you DON'T know it all when it comes to cars, so please STOP acting like you do. Also please be more consistent in words and actions. Marlin is another one that has some issues. She is rude, obnoxious, inappropriate and arrogant in general but also to customers. She definitely will have an attitude with you and roll her eyes like a juvenile if someone should opt to want wait for their vehicle at the shop as she will obnoxiously persist to get the customer to make other arrangements to pick their car up when it is ready. I am sorry why is that HER business and why should she care if someone should want to wait for their car there at the shop? Just a clear cut example of how she likes to have control over people and situations. When people try to control everything it is because they clearly have no control in their own lives. She is especially fond of trying to potentially intimidate customers with her stories about her personal life and how she likes to destroy her home (break things) and "verbally assault" people for the smallest of slights and infractions. She also indicated that she especially likes to intimidate her nieces and nephews and how they particularly enjoy her dictatorial attitude. Highly doubtful. Furthermore, Marlin is critical, judgmental and definitely controlling of other people. Her behavior and attitude is dubious and definitely not appropriate especially at a place of business. Nobody really wants to know the details of anyone's personal life. Please look into getting a therapist to work out your issues and not discuss your personal business at work with customers. Bottom line, my car's brakes still squeak and I will NOT be taking my car back to Jerry and Sons as they are not real good at resolving the issues within the initial visit. Who has the time to keep going back to readdress the same issues over and over again?? NO, thank you!!! Don't waste your time. Go elsewhere to avoid the headaches. read more

Turn signal started flickering a few days ago so I decided to stop by on a Saturday to figure out what was happening and how to fix it. Before I arrived I replaced the rear turn signal but couldn't get to the front one without professional help. When I arrived, the receptionist helped me figure out what I needed their help with to determine the problem. After a few minutes wait, I met Chris who came out to look at the vehicle. I took my car here recently to have tires mounted and balanced and to get an alignment. I called to get a quote on tires previously as I usually like to buy from family owned businesses rather than soulless, blood sucking corporations. It wasn't to be. I ordered my tires elsewhere. When I called back, the guy who made my service appointment (Chris, who I think may be an owner) was very professional and just plain nice, a big plus because you don't get that much within the boroughs. I brought my car in at the end of the week and everything went fine. They do a true, computerized alignment. The staff was friendly and professional and they don't try to hard sell you anything. My car could use some suspension repairs down the road but they said just to keep an eye on it and gave me a free estimate. No pressure at all. The only reason they gave me an estimate was because I wanted more specifics on what was needed (because I'll probably be doing it myself anyway). I was very happy about the way they handled that. On the negative side (and I'm reaching here), they were a little slow in performing the work. It took about two hours. It didn't bother me because I'm not an idiot and I don't take my car in for this type of work when I'm in a rush. Another potential negative is that their routine labor charge (for repairs) is a bit high for my taste. Then again, I do most of my own work anyway. All in all, I definitely trust the staff and mechanics here. Jerry & Son will be my first choice when inspection time rolls around. read more

I went to this repair shop because of the review with the statement "incredibly honest with their services", well, "incredible" turned out to be the key word here. You can't trust this shop for anything. Particularly don't take your car there for inspection. Marlin took my car in and took two days to do an inspection and never bothered to call me. Then Chris made up a list of "needed repairs" from the inspection but then these "must repairs" were found to be completely unnecessary when i got a second opinion from other shops. Bottom line is, you HAVE to get a second opinion if the good folks at Jerry & Son say there are problems with your car. Don't take their words for it! read more

Within an hour my car was on the lift and being taken care of ! While my car was on the lift I noticed technician Richie was doing things he didn't have to do which only benefited my car and with that alone it showed me not only dedication from him but loyalty .. I gave to my dad when we had two cars & he needed one... he sold it to the then owners son, who kept it for years. Any car any problem they were able to ascertain what needed fixing. Old school & new school when Chris came aboard. He learned all the digital electronics necessary.
