I was past due on the oil change and it was late in the day so I continued with the service because I didn't have many options at that point since I work during the week and won't be able to get it done for another week if I passed on it. This is exactly what they are counting on. Needless to say, I will not return there. No transparency in the pricing and once you're there they know it's 50% chance you'll give in because the appointment is made, you've driven there already and you need it done. That's just not cool whatsoever. I hate when businesses can't be honest from the get go. You lose my business plain and simple. I thought I was saving by not taking it to the dealer, but actually paid more. I should've just gone to the dealer service dept. Small jobs like oil change or spark plug /coil prob could be done same day as long as you drop off first thing in the morning. Mine was a bigger job control rods/ball joints and alignment. So it took 2 days. But I think this too could have been done in a day. Delivery of parts to shop delayed the work. I've done all major work at MINHS. The work is always top notch and they definitely remember their customers. And will always make things right if need be. My car is 2016 BMW X3 with 100k+ miles and runs very well 10 years later with maintenance from MINHS.

Getting frustrated with dealers, I went to Billy who saw one brake set needed to be replaced. As far as my question, Billy did list a few preventative things should be done at 100k, but then gave me a quizzical look and said just drive it, i would be fine. There was no sales pressure, no quota calculation, just honest assessment I did have the preventative work done and Billy did also diagnose a soft whine as a wheel bearing just from a brief test drive. Changing the bearing gave him grief and turned into a larger project, but he worked late and changed his schedule and finished the work in time for a trip I had planned. His prices are very fair. The car is driving great. He is a really special mechanic - and person.

This remodeling BS is something the manager maneuvers on a lot to deceive customers. I even once saw a video on CNN on this business (as a sample business in Manhattan) going bankrupt, but with some small renovations wants to revive. Here is my experience with these people: 1) OVERCHARGE (dishonest): I had to tow my car to their shop (was referred to by AAA). I needed to change a piece of hose for which they charged my $125 (you can by it from a dealer for less than $20). He kept saying that this is the price he has paid to buy it for me and when I finally asked for the receipt he started yelling ... 2) INCOMPETENT: Meanwhile I also had an electric leakage. He charged me a few hours at the rate $90/hour claiming that he has fixed it. I took the car and my battery kept draining and was dead again after 1 week. I took it there and he claimed that there was no problem with the car while it was clearly leaking. Their service could not diagnose the problem and they preferred to deny existing any problem rather than taking the responsibility for what they had charged me 3) I had lots of arguments after this problem. More interestingly they refused to give a written document that there was no problem with the car as they were claiming!!!!!!!! what eventually happened after I was insisting on resolving the problem (for which I had to call police), this nasty manager started yelling again and repeated throwing out all the names he seemingly has been called in his life.
