I came to pick up a Uhaul van for a one-way move. When I arranged for the van (not a larger truck) online, it said to pick it up from this location. I came in before making the reservation, because I wanted to be absolutely certain the size I wanted was available as I didn't want my move screwed up. I had to wait for "the boss" to return (from picking up his kids, the boss said later). Dexter arrived almost an hour later... He said, no problem, he had a van available and I made the reservation there AND it was $20 cheaper to reserve in person than online! Got it the next day, it was beautiful with less than 800 miles on it, way nicer than my own ride. I had no issues with Dexter, except for the wait. Bought in my car for clutch service for replacement. I was told car was ready and when I got there car was not fixed properly . There was no pedal in the clutch and the clutch chattered in first gear and it's even worse when I go reverse . He kept it for three days and could not fix the problem . And asked me what does he want me to do ? He said that he builds race car and that clutch need to be broken in (lie) He just had some one with no experience work on the car and they messed up and he gave me attitude and asked me to pay for services rendered . Now I have to take it to A FORD DEALERSHIP and start over and pay for something he should have done right in the first place . Be careful if you bring your car to him . 750 dollars thrown away and no way to recover loses . And no care for the customer , just pay for bad service and go . Stay away from Dexter and his auto repair shop. Had a timing belt changed a year ago and my car has never been right ever since. After a year and four months of Dexter claiming he does not know what is wrong with my car I took my car to get checked somewhere else only to find out Dexter NEVER installed my parts I paid for but he also purposely caused electrical damage to the car by adding wires so I could keep coming back to his shop. These people are crooks and turned a good car into a lemon. My car won't start and the transmission is completely gone while Dexter is making money off innocent people who trusted him. DO NOT GO TO ST ANNS THEY WILL KEEP YOUR PARTS AND TELL U THEY PUT THEM ON YOUR CAR PLUS THEY INTENTIONALLY CAUSE ELECTRICAL AND TRANSMISSION ISSUES. Sad part is if I would have done research I would have found out Dexter has ruined plenty of CARS and had numerous of people pay for parts they don't need to mess up your car. I hope and pray his shop gets shut down I'm a person and did not deserve this. read more

I once visited this shop 4 years ago to receive some auto repair service ie: brakes, oil change and an inspection sticker. At the conclusion of the service, I was pleasantly pleased with the service and the professionalism received from Dexter and James plus was equally satisfied with the price of the job. Most mechanics do not take the time to explain to the consumer what the process will entail. Dexter and James have done both. Yesterday on March 1st, I was visiting the Bronx area and had a car issue. Nothing to do with the prior job, I called St. Anns and asked if I could tow my vehicle to them. This time the brakes went out on the car. Again, I received the same professional and courtesy explanation of what was going to happen. The price was equally fair again. I would highly recommend St. Anns Auto Repair to anyone in need of a good mechanic that is trustworthy, honest, and doesn't have a problem explaining the details of the repair service. I had my transmission rebuilt by Dexter, the son of Mr. James (the person you speak to when you enter the shop). The build took over a month, with little to no effort being made to progressing with the build. Parts were needed and weren't conveyed to me so I could purchase and bring them in. And when I was calling to check up on the vehicle, I was met with an annoyed, almost rude tone of voice. A few days before vehicle pickup, I arrived at the shop at 9:30 to ask about if there was anything else needed, and Dexter proceeded to reply with: "Don't rush me, we're not begging for your business, and if you keep calling I'm going to just give you back your shit and you can take your car somewhere else." This coming from a man that 4 weeks prior I had given $1,000 as that was what I was told the labor cost was. I then replied with saying: "I paid you for the labor already and I always come here, so this is how you're gonna treat me?" He then said: "I really don't give a f*ck how you feel, you keep calling to get updates when the car is done the car is done, don't try to pressure me." I then responded with: "I call like once a week, and even when I call you said to me that your father didn't tell me to go buy a part so if I didn't call I wouldn'tve even known and the part would never have been bought. You would have thought I got the message when I actually didn't and we'd be stuck for longer." Dexter then told his father to give me back my money and then told me to "fuck off". So as I was calling a tow truck to have my vehicle and my transmission shipped to another shop that was closer to my area, Dexter's father, the businessman he is, told Dexter to finish the build of the Transmission and told me to come back in the next day. Lo and behold! 1 day later, my transmission was re-built and back in my vehicle for me to pick up. But alas, the work was substandard. My reverse gears don't work like they did before, and when I go into wide open throttle, my clutch stays depressed until I use my foot to pull it back up again. I would reccomend Mr. James as a person, and I think he's an honorable individual. But their only certified mechanic (Dexter) is a lewd individual whom you cannot trust to do a job right. Honest, straight forward mechanics who value their profession. While other shops were trying to get more cash from me by saying my starter, alternator, and battery needed to be replaced. The mechanic at St.anns said it was simply my battery. My car was there for less than 2 hours. I drove out feeling reassured and very much satisfied with their services. Thanks again St. Ann's. I recently rented a uhaul from this site it was very easy to find .when i inquired about the uhaul i wanted the contract was drawn up at first i had to check the van out then i had to go back in n have him change the mileage because it wasnt correct. upon return of the van i gave him the key and followed him outside to check the van for defects the mileage and gas even though he didnt do it when i took the van. he didnt say anything he got in and pull off . so i went back inside and waited for him to return about 10 minutes later we went into his office he sat at his desk next thing i knew he got up said here giving me a paper and walking out the office by which i was thrown off it was my receipt he said nothing while he sat at his computer he rounded up on the mileage which wasnt by much but come on that is not how im use to doing business so this was my experience with this company ill let u be the judge read more
