I have tended to use the dealership for repairs and service, but I have always wanted to find a local garage I could trust and use, partly for reasons of economy and partly because I believe in supporting local businesses. However, I have had some bad experiences with local garages in Pelham (see my review of Bencivengo auto service in Pelham for example). So finding M&M has been a relief - a real breath of fresh air. The owner, Paul, is smart and funny and down-to-earth. He comes across as honest and fair; I have yet to feel as though he's tried to sell me on something I didn't need, and I have been pleased with all my transactions with M&M. Recommended. read more

We bought a used car and needed an end-to-end inspection. There was a short window for returning the car if it had any issues. I brought it in on a Wednesday and they were able to squeeze us in for an appointment on Saturday. The inspection only took two hours. They test drove it and checked for previous bodywork as well. This place is ran by a theiving cheat named Paul. I brought my BMW in to have it serviced in December of 2024 and my car is still at the shop. They havve no idea of what they're doing or how to make repairs. I gave Paul $3000 along with the parts to repair my vehicle which was to change a sensor and connect a hose that was loose.. Paul admitted that he was unable to get the check engine sensor off permanently as he kept telling me that after he drove my car illegally it keeps coming back on. Then he tried to change the terms of our deal after he already had my money and didn't fix my car. Now I havve to sue the business to get my car back and the money I paid along with the parts he claims he put in my car. read more

Caught a flat tire on my way upstate to the casino and hit the jackpot coming across this shop. They went above and beyond to help me since I was stranded. They call multiple different tire shops to find the correct fit for my car. The staff made me feel very welcomed and at home. They did amazing work and would definitely recommend this shop to anyone. Made an appointment to have an inspection done while I waited, 1st thing in the morning, should have been an easy task, since the car only has a little over 10,000 miles on it, walked inside, checked in with the receptionist , who was anything but friendly, had a sour , miserable way about her, walked back outside to my car, that I left running in the same place that it was inspected the year prior,and was told by the owner (Paul) to move my F_cking car because he was running late and needed to set the yard up, I was then greeted with a few more of his sour remarks until I got out of the car and confronted him on his attitude, he then told me that he only sees the car once a year, and that he doesn't need my business, and to leave, which I was planning on doing anyway, since I had already waited 20 minutes ,waiting for him to get his stuff together, while he juggled cars around the lot. Bottom line is, some people don't deserve to make money, and this Guy is one of them, I actually feel sorry for this guy, it must be miserable being him. Checking out Yelp showed me M & M. I actually remember M & M when it was at it's old location when I was a kid. My parents use them so why not me? They're incredible helpful and friendly people. They even loved my yorkie who I brought in to drop off after at my parents to dogsit. I came in without an appointment and they still made space for me. Paul was honest about what's wrong and how to fix it. He gave me the paperwork, an estimate and an appointment. After all the work, I feel like they gave me a different car. I just moved up to the Mt Vernon area from Long Island and M&M was recommended by a friend. All I can say is that these guys are incredible! I didn't think auto service like this existed anymore! Wow, just WOW! Paul was extremely helpful, reliable and resourceful with our car inspections for my car and my girlfriend's car! He explained everything in great detail and informed us of where he smelled any "smoke" on the horizon for potential future problems. He took the time to really go over things in detail, plus show us on the cars any potential issues. Then he and his crew did a top notch job replacing a motor head on my Ford Focus (no Ford jokes please) to cut down on the noise level. He was on the money and on time with everything! There were a few customers when I got there, they seemed very happy with Paul's work ... after a short wait, Paul inspected my car thoroughly, adjusted one of the wheels and replaced the stickers after he did a closely clean on my windshield glass lol ... Pretty disappointed, won't use again, had my bmw wheel alignment done here, car was worse off than before, kept pulling to the left and steering wheel off centre, went back and had it redone but still pulling to the left said it was due to the tires not happy with this at all, went to BMW dealership and had it done there and they got it corrected and now drives perfectly read more

My husband and I were driving to Connecticut for our 8th anniversary dinner when our car broke down on the Hutchinson parkway near the new Rochelle exit. So we scrambled and called the closest mechanic that might still be open (it was 6pm). I luckily got on the phone with the owner and he was kind enough to to stay late and fix our car so we could make it to our dinner. I took my car here for the state safety inspection. This place has great friendly staff and, most importantly, it has honest mechanics! I've had shops telling me I need $2000 worth of repairs in order to pass the inspection before (even though my car was in a great shape). Paul and Nico are terrific. Great service. They don't do the expensive quick fix, they take the time to investigate the underlying issue. For example. Our BMW had a problem with the headlights flashing from regular to bright on their own intermittently. BMW wanted to charge us $1500 for each headlight to replace a computer module. Nico found a wire that needed to be grounded and charged us $75. Finding an honest mechanic is priceless. Amazing auto service center. Found them on Yelp when tire went flat on way home from NYC. Called Saturday at 12:30 and even though they close at 1 they took us in and assessed the tire. Brought the car in for a wheel alignment after I got 4 new tires and wheel repairs at another shop. The first time around the alignment was not successful, car was pulling to the right. I called the shop and Paul told me to bring it back in same day. We tried swapping the tires left and right (different front and back tire sizes). The car was still pulling to the right. The car was put back on the lift, and it was discovered that something happened during the initial alignment where the front left wheel was not done right. It was corrected and I was out driving again. Its a few days later and the car feels fine. Although the multiple trips were annoying, they handled it with professionalism and made sure my problem was attended to and corrected. We dont live in a perfect world and mistakes do happen. My brother, father and myself have been looking for a new shop and we will be bringing our cars in here for small issues to see how they are taken care of. Future reviews to follow. read more

My car had an issue with the brakes that sounded scary. I pulled off the highway a mile from M&M and was able to slowly make it there. I looked at the other reviews, which gave me confidence, and they were absolutely right. My only issue with this place is that it is not closer to where I live - otherwise they would become "my mechanic". Heck, I may still make them that. The service here exceeded my expectations, not only because of the friendly staff, but also because of the educational transparency in understanding what happened with my car. The owner, Paul Mueller, helped me in a jam and I wasn't even in his shop or a customer. I parked my car in a shopping center space and, when I tried to back out, heard a grinding noise. He ran over yelling "stop". He explained that my bumper had caught on the curb and offered to lift the car as I backed out! When that didn't work and I had torn off the bumper, he and his wife offered to drive me home, wrote out the damage to tell my repair shop, and moved the car so it could be more easily towed.
