Been to this location a couple of times. Friendly staff always ready to help. I came for car inspection, they did advise (on the phone) it's only certain days of the week which saved me some time. I dropped off the car and they called me a few hours later to pick up. More recently, I got a nail in my tire. Came in around 4pm - fair warning, a lot of people come in 4-5pm - thankfully I came early enough to beat the after work crowd and there was only 1 person ahead of me. I sat down in a little seating area with TV on, waited about 20 min and they came back and told me it was all done. They plugged the tire and I was on my way. Everything took less than 1hr and they didnt charge me for the plug because it was so quick and I'm a return customer. Very satisfied with the customer service and overall experience. read more

Took my car in to have a super tight lug nut removed and the tires rotated b/c was unable to do myself. They eventually got it off but the lug was shot. Have had a mixed bag of experiences at various Mavis locations over the years, but was pleased yesterday to be accommodated with zero notice and no appointment. Developed a flat from a pothole near this particular Mavis outlet and thus needed "on the spot" assistance or would have had to tow the car to a local BMW dealer. The Tuckahoe location had the correct OEM tire in stock and was able to complete the work with reasonable expediency. Five stars for helping me without an appointment, four stars for pricing (in line with online offerings for the same tire), two stars for the nearly three hour wait to mount two tires. When they were done, the tire light was on.... they said "just drive it and it will turn off." then they said they damaged one of the tire sensors but didnt have a replacement. I will NEVER use THIS location again! Every time I go, there is a problem. My niece brought my car here with a flat tire after sealing it with fix-a-flat. She told them I wanted a new tire. They had the car for over 24 hours, b/c they were busy. When she picked up the car, they "SEALED " the tire?! (OR I SEALED the tire) They charged me $27 . insisting the tire didn't need to be replaced. ! hour later, and now she is stranded with a flat tire again. I scheduled an inspection appointment for Tuesday and they called to tell me their inspector wasn't in but would be there Wednesday, bring it in any time. I rescheduled for Wednesday afternoon. "No problem," said the guy on the phone. I leave work early for the scheduled appointment. I am told they can't do it yesterday because they're overbooked, but bring it back first thing Thursday, b/c it's their long day for inspections. I do so, their inspection machine konked out Wednesday night, so they can't promise my car can get inspected Thursday. No calls to cancel. Nothing. Just time I don't get paid for at work. The thing to know about Mavis is, as others have noted, a reserved time to bring your car in is meaningless. They handle cars on a first in basis. I've waited over 4 hours for new tire install, WITH a reservation. Extremely frustrating for the customer. Having said that, had a good experience with this location for a tire rotation, oil change and inspection. This location seems relatively well run. read more

Went to Mavis as I needed a new tire and I was treated with respect. The Manager Miguel came to me and explained what needed to be done and Alejandro did the job, keeping me updated on what he was doing. Checked all my tires to make you they were good, and even checked to make sure I didn't need an alignment. The waiting area and restroom were clean, wait time was not that long and all the staff were very professional. I would recommend Mavis at Eastchester to be your go to place. So my wife buys a set of 4 tires and was told that she needed new front brake pads and 2 front tire sensors. Rotors were fine. No problem. 2 weeks later she goes back for front brake pads and 2 front tire sensors. 4 hours later the bill was for pads, sensors and 2 front rotors. No discussion of this at all. No permission given to change the rotors that were perfectly fine. An additional $200+ that was never discussed. No authorization for this repair. Typical male run business taking advantage of a woman. DO NOT GO HERE. BAD BUSINESS TACTICS. Although she had to wait 4 hours to get the tires installed the first visit she felt comfortable enough that they would be legit and take care of the next round of repairs. I have been a lifelong customer of Mavis Discount Tire and I have always been satisfied with their products and service. But I have since started going to the Eastchester, NY outlet exclusively because the service is top-notch! The people are courteous, friendly, and most of all, efficient. Those are the kind of things that are invaluable to me. On my last visit May 5, 2024, they had to remove the spare tire donut from my car to replace the damaged tire that it was itself replacing. I asked them to simply put the donut in the back area of the car and I would take care of putting it away. When I went out to get the car, it had all been replaced and its original location perfectly and buttoned up neatly so that I had nothing to do but walk back in and say thanks. This is a fine example of how a business that deals with the public should be run. So, for my part, I would highly recommend this place. read more

My rear passenger tire needed air and I pulled into this location to use the air inflator. Danny ran out to assist my mother and I. With no hesitation, he checked the pressure in all of my tires and even offered to get me a new tire cap that was missing. Danny is a very kind young man and I hope Mavis rewards him very well for his amazing service. Adrian also had a very pleasant demeanor. Mavis, take good care of your stellar employees!! I have been going to this mavis for many years and have always been happy. I have always trusted their word when it came to repair history since all records have been with this specific location. I dont usually write reviews but this incident needed to be reported. My mother was diagnosed with breast cancer and as you can imagine there was alot on my families mind. So when we brought in our vehicle we received a call explaining the changes needed it sounded familiar, but we asked if those parts had been replaced recently according to the record. The mechanic stated No. We trusted as we always had with no issues, but i kept having this burning feeling that those parts sounded familiar. So i went to a different location and printed out the entire history of both of my vehicles and compared to the proposed repairs. It turned out the eastchester mavis shop lied to replace parts not needed for a quick buck. Will never go to this shop again and although i should have been more aware its a shame that even during a tough time in my families history this shop cannot be counted on to be honest to any degree when needed most. DO NOT GO TO THIS SHOP WHITE PLAINS IS BETTER. Do not trust anything they say -- print out the history first and ensure because they certainly wont care no matter what your going through if it helps their bottom line. read more

Been taking our cars here for a bit and I am finally done! Always some sort of a problem! Last time I brought the car in for new tires, they said they could not find the wheel lock, (which was absolutely in the glove box when I left the car there.) Back and forth, saying they didn't touch it, and me saying it was there! In order to get this all resolved, I had them just remove the wheel locks, (which they charged me to do) then replaced the tires. This time, I go back (the tires did not last even close to as long as they were rated for!) and they replace the damaged tire, and I return to pick up the car and my entire console and glove box were basically dumped out and put back all shuffled around. I called to ask what that heck happened and they said they were looking for the wheel locks. I was like, do you even LOOK at the car history at all?? Why didn't you call me if you had a question rather than dumping out my stuff? Also, they literally dumped the spare tire into the well without securing it, so when I got home, I had to do that myself. When I called and asked what happened that everything was all over and shuffled through, the manager apologized, but the resolution was "ask for me next time and we will handle things more professionally." I don't want to have to specifically ask for a person to receive fair and honest and professional treatment! Sorry, you lost me, there won't be a next time. read more
