When I got to the establishment and checked in, was told there would be a multi-hour wait. The purpose of making an appointment is to avoid very long waits!!!! They then suggestions I reschedule for the next day, with a forecast of 12-17 inches of snow. When I pointed that out they copped an attitude. I have done business with this location in the past and had been treated quite well. Obviously, things have changed. Spend your hard earned money elsewhere. Quite simply you deserve better. CHARGED FOR SERVICE NOT PERFORMED. In November I took my car to this location for new tires. At that time, the service team recommended that the rear brakes be replaced and an alignment be done. I agreed to the work and paid for the work. On April 8, I brought my car to Toyota for a scheduled servicing and was told that my rear brakes needed repair (no more than 1500 miles after the supposed Mavis job). Additionally, my tire pressure sensors were not working and were found to have been taped inside the rims instead of being fastened properly. Only Mavis has done tire work on my car. I will never give Mavis business again. Even if I get a flat tire and my tire is under warranty, I would rather pay full price somewhere else than give business to an establishment that lies about work and steals customers' money. read more

Normally this mavis store is very professional. I came in for 2 worn tires. The tires all read the pressure and the tire sensors work fine. In fact, I heard this happens and I took a picture on my screen they all read a pressure. When I got the car back, sure enough, they said I needed sensors in both tires for 100 each. "the battery runs out" I argued with them, I told put the old put back the old sensors and configure the pressure system, and miraculously they both worked. I've used other Mavis locations in the past with no issue. This location is horrendous! I made an appointment for 1 PM to get car inspected and tire fixed. While I was waiting, a man came in and angrily complaining that he waited four hours and his car was still not ready. I initially thought that guy was being unreasonable. Flash forward two hours later and my car is still sitting in the parking lot where I left it untouched. The guy at the desk told me that he's only allowed to do one inspection per hour according to New York State law. And it was now 3 and my car wasn't even looked at for inspection or to fix the tire. I went to the Scarsdale, NY Mavis because I had a flat tire that was caused by hitting a pothole. I was greeted by Jason who looked at the tire and thought it had just been pulled from the rim. He took it into the shop and returned to tell me that I would need a new tire because it had a cut in the side. The tire had to be ordered because one like it was not in stock. It does state a very vague most cars but if someone spends $2500 at your location honoring a $148 coupon wouldve been a great service experience. My issue is they could've honored the coupon given the amount of money I spent at this location, a great customer experience is key and it also allows a customer to refer people to a speific business..and I also wanted to have more maintenance services completed but alas my money will not be spent at this location again.... As in my prior review, he was excellent and did not a real favor in letting my bring my truck in without an appoinmtent. I went for a simple inspection. I made the appointment online. The guy told me it would be about 1-1.5 hours and that there was only 1 person ahead of me and they just took her car in. I went and waited and after about 20 min or so, the woman who was in front of me, happened to sit next to me in waiting room, said she was waiting for 3 hours! She was getting just an inspection too. Shortly after her car was ready. I am there maybe for 45 minutes and she has been gone for about 15 minutes, my car is still waiting outside and has not been taken in yet. I was already alarmed that she had to wait 3 hours. I complained that the woman was finished and I was next and that it's almost been an hour and my car had not been takin inside yet. The guy at the counter was very defensive and rude. I went back and waited another half hour (I'm already there 1.5 hours at that point) I still saw my car sitting in the parking lot not being taken in. I finally got disgusted and said give me back my keys I am going somewhere else. I cannot believe the treatment of customers this place gives. I have never seen anything like this. When they said my car would take 1-1.5 hours I thought that it would have been done or in the shop at that point. Inspections usually take 30-45 minutes. I understand that there is usually a little wait but not 1.5 hours to get my car in the shop especially if there is only person ahead of me and left after the first half hour of me being there. Treat your customers better. If they make an appointment stick to it. Had I been a walk in then I'd have no argument but I made an appointment and waiting 1.5 hours to find your car has not even been taken into the garage is unacceptable. I went here for a wheel alignment, only because the outter edge of my front tires were wearing out... As soon as it was completed and i drove away i noticed my alignment was wayyyy worse, Now as i drove straight the steerling wheel was 1-2 inches turned to one side... I drove right back, and he agreed that it was done wrong and he re-did it.. (no apology was given, just a "oh you're right" , and then ok here, its done, after i drove 15 mins away then back again 15 mins.. But this wasn't the worse part... After thinking that he corrected the Camber alignment that i originally went there for him to correct,,,, i rotated the front tires with the outter lip that was starting to wear to the rear, and what do you know? The ones in the front kept eating away the edges... he not only screwed up and made the alignment 10 times worse that i had to return to correct,, he of course never fixed the problem i went there for at the start, these is a new luxury SUV, i would of easily got another 20k out of these tires and now because of him i have to buy 4 new tires @ $1,300 and mavis isnt even giving me a good deal at all,, Update,,, Mavis customer service called me back, and said "we will give you the tires at "our cost" (BS) then quoted me a price of $1,350.. They put car on a lift and said brake pads and rotors were no good. Ditto shocks. $2,300 estimate. I waited until my long time mechanic returned from vacation. He looked at the car and said brakes were very new and shocks, although a bit rusted, were no leaking. He changed air and cabin filter, rotated front tires, replaced defective rear brake light, and did inspection (car passed). Price $267. Stay clear of Mavis. They will try to rob you blind. They denied any responsibility even though the paint was obviously freshly chipped as could be seen by the edges of paint from the damage. Do not go here!! Update: Unfortunately, it gets worse. I advise avoiding this business entirely. I went on their website and made an 11:00 a.m. appointment to have my car serviced. When I arrived at 10:45 a.m., I was told there would be a significant delay. When I mentioned that I had an appointment, I was told, "so did people at 8:00, 9:00 and 10:00 a.m." My reply? "Well, I'm glad you got to service their cars, so now it's my turn." Basically, I was told that making an appointment didn't matter because people often show up without appointments--the exact reason I had made an appointment, to prevent any significant delay. I was told that I would likely not get served for a couple of hours, at which point I grabbed my keys and left. This place saved me today. I had a dead battery which Triple A jumped but I needed to keep the car running to get it to a mechanic. The people at Mavis were friendly and helpful on the phone, telling me I could bring it by and they would at least confirm if I needed a new battery and see if they could help me. They checked it right away and confirmed that I needed a new battery and that they had it in stock. I waited less than 10 minutes for the new battery! With a 3-year warranty. And Jason--who was amazing, great customer service--educated me about my regular battery vs my hybrid battery so I would better understand my car. (In contrast when I called my regular dealership, who I've taken the car to a dozen times, they disconnected the call by accident, put me on hold for 20 minutes when I called back, were unfriendly when I spoke with someone, and wouldn't even look at the car to determine if I needed a battery for 5 days.) Horrible place my aunt went to get her inspection done because it was expired by two days.. when she went there she was approached by one or two men and they said we can't pass your car because your front brakes are too low.. so they said front Pads and rotors Four new tires and the inspection $1800+ tax and tire disposal fee would've came to $2005 dollars Her car is a 2012 Toyota Yaris.. I was working otherwise I would've went with her because I know most shops when They see a female they love to take advantage.. here's a picture of her pads.. and them saying they were low they were lying because the only way you could see if they're low or good you have to remove the caliper and they didn't do that.. so I told her let them fail you pay the $37 and I'll take care of it all The very next day but no they either con'ed her into getting four tires no name brand to to top it all off when I looked them up they costed $58 each.. when I heard her tell me the price it's gonna cost for them to do the job 1800+ tax I told her to run out of there but she didn't listen and got the tires .. I think the tires came out to almost $600 with tax and disposal fee. So let me see if I understand this 100% correctly ,so you're telling me to do her front pads and rotors was going to be over $1300+.Cause she just spent close to $600 on no name brand tires ... $1300+ for brakes and $600 for the tires = $1900+ The price they told her everything will come out total Here's a picture of her pads and brakes because I did the job.. i'm 45 years old and been working on cars since 15... two high-quality rotors and high-quality pads were $103 and I installed them ..
