I won't go through the long saga of my 2011 Subaru Legacy, but will just say that I put my faith and trust in Ralph and his team at Farrows, and they delivered. The car needed a complete assessment of the engine cylinder heads and a question of whether the challenges, length of time, repairs needed and expense would be worth the money. In the end, I decided it was all worth it, largely because I trusted Ralph and his team. I found Farrow's to be thorough, knowledgeable, honest, and communicative. Not so from a local dealer's Subaru service department which may have actually contributed to the problems with the engine (but I'll never know that for sure). My car was with Ralph and team for almost two months. Ralph never sugar coated anything -- was forthcoming about the time it would take for parts, repairs, etc, and the costs. They were diligent in working to diagnose the root cause, not just symptoms, to get it right. I picked up my car yesterday and needless to say: it's running great -- like having a completely new car (at 120k miles in). But the true test of a good business isn't just how well they do things, it's how well they handle things when things go wrong. And Farrows has always either gotten things right, or they've quickly and cheerfully made them right. Another kudos of Farrows is how often they've told me I DON'T need something done, because they're looking out for me as their long-term customer, not just out to make a quick buck. So....trustworthy. The only small downside to Farrows is that as a small garage -- which, really, is a plus -- there is often a wait and you need to book time a little in advance. These are the BEST!! All the mechanics are terrific, but especially Gerry. As a woman, I am extremely dependent on my car and the mechanics that help keep it running. Gerry's group of men are all terrific. Starting with Adrienne who is in charge of the towing and picking up the car. When I called yesterday around 3:00, I immediately called my regular mechanic, when I was directed to leave a voicemail. I then called the dealer, where I knew it would be very expensive, but I was desperate, standing outside a car that wouldn't start. At the dealer, I was also directed to a voicemail. They never called back. My mechanic called me back 3 hours later. Meanwhile, I called Gerry. He picked up the phone and asked how he could help. He made arrangements to tow my car to his garage. He called when it arrived and told me he would work on it today - Saturday! He called me at 12:00 to give me the news and to tell me he would try to get it back to me today, but he had to order a part. Please don't call during the day, so he could work on the car. He would call me when it was finished. He called at 3:15 to tell me it was done!! Come get it!. On the phone he went through the bill, item by item explaining every penny. I have never been so impressed. Everything was done and the car is now in my garage. I asked if I could tip the guys that worked on the car and they all told me - please write a review on Yelp. I went to Farrow's last week to get second opinion on either my tire can be patched up as I had a nail in it or if I needed a new tire (another Auto shop said it's not possible to fix it and told me I have to get a new tire, which would cost about $250 as opposed to patching it witch costs $25). FARROWS COMES THRU AGAIN! I had an appointment for an inspection this morning. It was going to be a little while before my ride could pick us up. I asked if my little girl and I could wait in the car. Nick looked at us and said give me 15 minutes I will have you in and out. it brought tears to my eyes. In a world where there is so much turmoil it is nice to know some people can still show human kindness AND run a business. This station is two for two with me. I just recently moved to the area. My car broke down, I was stuck with my two little kids. Once the tow truck came & jumped me they said I needed a battery right away, not to turn my car off. I was referred to Farrows who took care of me and changed the battery immediately. Somebody hit my car leaving me with a lot of scratches, a broken side view mirror and a broken taillight. I learned they were affiliated with an auto body shop. told me to come down to check out the car. What a wonderful experience. Tony saves me money by telling me how I could buff the scratches out myself then gave me a reasonable price to fix the rest. The parts came the next day and he was able to squeeze me in. And who says mechanics aren't honest!!! LOL It's hard starting over when you move I am just so grateful that we have a place that will service our cars. I drive from Westhampton to Pleasantville 3 times a week to work. This morning an orange cone flew out and hit my side view mirror and the glass popped out. It was the scariest ride to work I've ever had. I never knew just how important those mirrors are. I work right next door to Farrow's and my boss uses them for everything. I drove straight there and asked for help. I drive a Hyundai Ioniq hybrid and there are very few of them in this country. Somehow Farrow's was able to take a mirror they had in the shop and rig it up for at least a temporary fix. They refused to charge me. They are always helpful and smiling when I stop in for my daily soda but this goes way beyond that and i recommend them to anyone who is looking for an honest, knowledgeable service station. read more

Dealing with this place was a horrible experience. I took my car here to get the window repaired. It would no longer roll up. When I picked it up I tried the window and it was stiff but it worked. Later that same night the exact same problem recurred. I called to say that it had not been fixed and I wanted my money back. The man I spoke to, Moe, said he'd fixed it himself and would not give me my money back and if I tried to cancel the payment by the credit card company he would just bill me again. He said I should have to pay for his time apparently because he considers the car fixed even if I didn't. So I got into a shouting match with him over the phone, and I couldn't believe he talked to his customers this way. He said he has plenty of business, implying he didn't have to care what I as his customer thought of him. His invoice has printed on it: "All our work is guaranteed," but when I asked about that he said it's only if there are parts replaced that they're guaranteed. All he would do is not charge any more labor costs to redo the repair. I recommend avoiding Farrow's like the plague. My fondest wish is that Moe's behavior comes back to haunt him, and that he learns to treat his customers with respect. read more

I have used Farrows on occasion for auto repair as it is local but I wanted to post this review because they helped me out in the clutch. A little while ago I was having an electrical problem with my car which became progressively worse. Sure enough.. I was gassing up at Farrows and when I attempted to restart the car..nothing. One of the shop workers came out (I think his name was Moe) and sensing my predicament inquired as to the problem. He told me he would take a look at it and fit me in his afternoon work schedule. Sure enough the other mechanic Tony called me back a short time later and informed me the aftermarket car burglar alarm was improperly wired and remedied the problem. Tony was helpful, friendly and informative. I really appreciated these guys going out of their way and even offered coffee and a big cop donut. Farrows is known for being a busy shop.. but maybe its because people like the way they are treated there and keep coming back. Thanks guys. read more
