Lasagne Verdi ai Funghi

Even more delicious after telling the waiter to add a little less salt!!! A fantastic lunch. Will come to this cozy place again.

Great food and service. The ambiance is unmatched and unique. Authentic Italian cuisine from Sardegna. We had the Lasagna Alla Bolognese, salad verde, spaghetti, involtini de melanzana, and tres leches.

Lasagne alla Bolognese

We had a divine meal here last night. We started with the mussels, which were served with a light smattering of tomato and garlic. They were excellent. We also shared a plate of pacheri al fungi, which was so good we licked the plate. The pasta is like giant, flat rigatoni, and the sauce was a super mushroomy cream sauce. The lasagna bolognese was also amazing. There's literally not a bad thing I could say about this meal.

Great location and a very lovely place to dine. Lots of outdoor seating in a very comfortable environment. They have traditional Sardinian cuisine as well as traditional Italian classic dishes. Daniela, makes just about everything here from scratch! Very impressive. This is a family run business. They have a lot a passion behind the service and food. I wanted to try something very authentic. The server suggested the Fregula Con Cocciulas. It consists of couscous sized pasta, saffron, slowly cooked with clams, garlic, Italian parsley, and sun-dried tomatoes. It was very good. Nice sized portion. I had a very nice experience. I'm looking forward to coming back soon.

Gluten free gnocchi

Yum! I returned to Daniela for lunch this past week and was really happy with my experience. It was far less crowded for lunch and the service was excellent. I got the gluten free gnocchi and absolutely loved it. It was super filling and the sauce was just exceptional. They were even nice enough to make me a little piece of gluten free focaccia. It was even better than the sourdough-esque GF bread they gave me last time. I wish I wouldn't have eaten the bread so fast so I could've scooped up all the leftover sauce with it. Maybe next time ;) Everytime I come here, I'm always impressed with the number of gluten free options. As a pasta lover who has only just recently had to give up gluten, I can't personally tell the difference because the flavor and texture is just so spot on. I love that they have so many options I can still enjoy that aren't just your boring spaghetti or penne (GF seafood ravioli?? C'mon!) This might be my new favorite lunch spot whenever I feel like treating myself!

Loved this restaurant! Located in Hampden and known for their traditional Sardinian cuisine. The ambiance was very nice, especially as someone who doesn't usually like sitting outside in a restaurant. There were heaters, lights, and plants, making it a great location to sit at. I was also a huge fan of the food options, which were very broad and delicious. As someone that doesn't eat beef, there were two separate vegetarian lasagna options. I had the mushroom one (the lasagna verde al funghi), which was perfectly cheesy and savory. My friend ate the fregula con cocciulas, which featured a small couscous-like pasta shape slow cooked with clams. The drink menu was also quite long, featuring many authentic Italian wines. The service was very quick and kind, and the servers quickly turned on the heaters in the outdoor seating space when it was cold. Left super satisfied and will definitely be returning!

This is my very first time coming to this place. They normally have outdoor dining as well but, it was closed in according to the weather. As soon as my niece and I walked in we were greeted by the friendly male water. We were seated right away. No wait at all. I admired the ambiance....grape vines hanging throughout the restaurant. We were immediately given water. We placed our order and then asked if we would like drinks. My niece a coke and myself prosecco. My niece ordered chicken Alfredo which wasn't on the menu but they were still able to create it. I ordered lasagna. The meals came with bread lightly buttered and a dusting of salt. Everything was delicious. We both agreed that we would return. Everything made fresh upon placing the order. It did not disappoint.

Great service, excellent cocktail and mocktail selection, and delicious island-fusion cuisine!…read more I visited The Duchess during Restaurant Week and had a wonderful experience. The ambiance is beautiful, with a vintage yet elegant feel, a cozy fireplace, and stunning chandeliers. Tessa, the general manager, was warm and welcoming, and our server, Zoe, was kind, attentive, and very helpful in guiding us through the menu. The food was fantastic! I highly recommend the Short Rib Kare Kare, the broccolini, and the award-winning Crispy Shrimp & Corn Patties. For dessert the chocolate Namalaka was a fave!

The crispy shrimp and corn patties were like a crispy takoyaki so actually pretty good and the Mac and caviar was like a cold macaroni salad also pretty good just not impressive for a nice dinner. Was really looking forward to trying their duck confit chilakiles, but they ran out unfortunately. A little surprising since it's many hours before they close. I was considering coming again to try the duck confit, but after trying everything else I'm not sure it's worth the drive here since I'm not from the baltimore area. Their grilled ahi tuna was done well and the sauce was really good. The garlic soy shrimp pancit had good textures and flavour as well. The nori butter tteokbokki was lacking in flavour a little. Missed a bit of acidity to balance out the cream. Desserts were also just okay. I'm usually a sweets person, but I was kind of disappointed. The carrot mochi cake was strange, the texture was good, but the flavours did not mesh well together and I was confused what I was eating. The latiya was dry. The shaved ice was pretty refreshing but not impressing. The Ube flan was good though!

The bar was filled and it looked like they only had one bartender so it was a little slow getting or drinks but with the wait. I got the cognac espresso martini. Strong and good! Highly recommend. Not to mention it was wobbly. My best friend and I came here for my birthday and I was disappointed. It was a Friday night around 7pm. It wasn't packed but my drink took a while to come out. It was okay but nothing special. I don't remember the name. Although my waitress didn't ask how I wanted my lamb chops, they were too rare for my liking. So, I didn't eat it and decided I'd cook it more at home. The Mac and cheese was very dry. I didn't eat all of it and did not enjoy the texture. The greens were not good at all. I think wayyy too much vinegar. Oddly enough when I got home I put a lot of hot sauce in it. It enhanced it a little but still not " good". Overall, I was disappointed in my meal and I don't think I would return. I think they were supposed to to have live music but it was just two people setting up/ DJing. I was just underwhelmed by the food and the decor.

Sitting outside with a glass of wine while overlooking the harbor is hard to beat. They even have a designated area if you want to enjoy a cigar, which adds to the experience. The service has always been on point--staff is welcoming and attentive. My favorite is the frozen summer drinks with lavender. They're made like slushies and are strong (2 of these and you will be done for the evening) The wine is okay!! though not necessarily the highlight in my opinion. When we arrived, we were the only ones there, and there was one staff member working. That said, she came over immediately, brought us menus, and made the experience feel welcoming right away. We had to ask about tastings and she poured us about four different wines to try, which was a really nice touch and made the experience feel relaxed. We liked a few of the wines and ended up purchasing a bottle of Honor Cava Brut Rosato for $32.99. Solid choice. Nothing mind-blowing, but enjoyable and fairly priced for the setting. The space itself felt calm and cozy, especially with the fireplace and wine displays, but at the time we were there it didn't have a ton of energy or buzz. To be fair, it was early in the day, so I can absolutely see this place feeling very different in the evening or on a weekend when the patio and waterfront vibe are in full swing. V-NO is a pleasant, low pressure wine stop with friendly service, a thoughtful tasting experience, and a beautiful waterfront location. It may not scream "vibes" during slower daytime hours, but it's an easy place to relax, learn what you like, and enjoy a glass (or a bottle) without feeling rushed. I'd definitely come back later in the day to see it come to life.

A more welcoming atmosphere with employees smiling and making eye contact would make a big difference in the overall experience. I decided to give the place another chance and went back for a second visit. This time, I ordered two slices of their bread pizza, and unfortunately one of them had a hair in it. I politely went to the front desk and informed the employee. At first, he seemed to brush it off or not fully acknowledge it, and I had to physically take the hair out to show him so he could see it. He did offer to replace the slice, which I appreciated and accepted, but there was no apology or kindness in the interaction. Situations like that can happen anywhere, but the way they are handled really matters.

Now perhaps they go a little overboard with people checking on you or upselling water preferences or bottomless mimosas (who am I to say, after all). However, their upbeat, information-sharing, food-accommodating efficiency slaps like a big city hotel fever dream! The menu is nicely sectioned into apps, lunch, brunch and sandwiches. I do wish they'd keep the coffee types in their own sections like my favorite cafés so I don't have to weed out such drivel as teas and lesser morning liquid mood enhancers. However, I was thrilled beyond belief that although it wasn't on the menu and the server didn't know what a flat white (my favorite "new" caffeine drink) was, the barista who came over did and their version was fine. Mom and I ordered an eggs Benedict and BLT--both with avocado and a side of modest mayo-y coleslaw with celery seed, a chai latte, flat white and a mimosa (other flavors exist as well). Unexpected treat: On-the-house almond pound cake (from a local bakery) with butter as a starter was SO good! Besides great food, great service and a great price for what we ordered, there are ample rooms and tables inside and out, affording minimal or no wait times and relatively medium noise to carry on a conversation. Notes: In nicer weather dining outside is great--and for special occasions, literally around the corner is Petit Louis Bistro, a Baltimore/Roland Park French food fav! Also, almost forgot: we got two strawberry shortbread cookies to go among several sweet selections from their bakery case!
