My coworkers and I came in for our holiday luncheon, we had made reservations and were seated right away- pro tip, make a reservation! For lunch it was a "meat and three" vibe with options for everyone from chicken to fish or just veggies and salads, something for everyone! The restaurant was very busy but our server greeted us fairly quickly and took our orders. The food came out quickly and was delicious.

Had a private dinner here and cannot rave enough about the quality of food! Ambiance: We had a lovely private room where we could all talk easily without the noise of the rest of the restaurant. Food: We got a bunch of appetizers for the table including the crab cakes, tuna tartare, and some crab claws sautéed in garlic butter (I'm still dreaming about the latter!). The soup of the day was gumbo and it was life changing. Several of my colleagues ordered the pan seared whitefish and raved about it. I ordered a special lobster ravioli with scallops. This tasted amazing but the scallops came separately about 5 minutes after my dish was served which was odd. Service: Overall, we had decent service. We did have to wait a few times to order additional bottles of wine but everyone was very friendly and helpful. Will definitely come back next time I'm in the Birmingham AL area!

Food was delicious and great portions. Service was great at the bar. Ambiance is just a white tablecloth vibe. The lamb was perfectly cooked and delicious.

Roasted corn pablano soup was wildly different, really good!

This small boutique style restaurant was such a refreshing night out! The grilled romaine salad was a totally different experience! It's odd having a warm salad, but I'm excited to try it on my grill now! Salmon was excellent, and the snapper was to die for! Great all around service.... I wish I lived here so I could come back!!

Absolutely delicious! A true hidden gem! The crab claws for an appetizer were some of the best we've had in Bham. Love the intimate atmosphere.

Currently driving across the United States. After Missouri, Oklahoma, Texas, Louisiana, and Mississppi, this is the best food I've eaten. I received unforgettable service from a BEAUTIFUL server named Erin who seated me immediately upon arrival around noon. She recommended the squash which I would have not normally tried and I'm grateful I did. The atmosphere, charm, and taste of the food culminated to make this a 5/5 experience for me; I could not stop smiling. I drank a coastal mocktail in a copper glass which tasted fantastic additionally. Before I could pay, they gave me a complimentary creme brulee. Thank you, Daniel George! I'll be back.

We enjoyed this new place to dine. The atmosphere was upscale with white shades and table clothes. The service was stellar with multiple waiters and waitresses checking on you constantly. Our main waitress was splendid. My wife and I had the chicken and my daughter had the beef. Everyone enjoyed their meal. This is considered a neighborhood restaurant. Nice place to visit.

I absolutely enjoyed everything about DG! I was quite shocked that a white tablecloth setting would have such an outstanding meat and 2 or 3 or 4 situation! I wanted everything on the menu!! Our server , Ben ( I believe) was amazing! I ordered the hamburger steak (with gravy , mushrooms and onions ), mashed potatoes and their spicy pineapple collards. Every bite I just knew this food was well crafted and could taste the effort put into each portion! I will say the only downside was , the food wasn't as hot in temp as I prefer. Notice I didn't even take a star away for this because DG provided the total dining experience I look for! My friend who I met for lunch has frequent DG several times . This being my first time , I was blown away! I can assure you that I will definitely be popping in again .... real soon! The vibe is relaxing and very nicely decorated. It's great for a date night , GNO or solo outing. The bar and dining areas are both very spacious as well. Street parking is available but this area can present some challenges depending on the time of day of your visit. All and all , it's well worth it!! Thankfully we arrived early enough and had no parking issues at all.

This is one of my favorite spots to visit. It is a part of my regular lunch rotation. The staff is always pleasant. They also take proper precautions and provide sanitizer. We go there for lunch around 11:15 and there's always a place to park. After that, it gets really busy. So try to get there early. My favorite menu item to get is their hamburger steak with gravy. It is so good. I always add mashed potatoes and fried okra. I recently tried the creamed corn when their okra wasn't available. It was soo good and wasn't too creamy. It was perfect. The chicken breast with gravy was also very good. It usually comes with a biscuit that is a welcomed treat. I would highly recommend that everyone try the lava cake. It usually comes with berries and a chocolate ice cream. It is one of my favorite desserts. You may want to order it when you order your meal because it takes a minute to prepare. You will not regret it. Our server Ben was also very knowledgeable of the menu items and was attentive to my seafood allergy. Please give them a visit, because I want them to do well and stay open.

I came here to celebrate a friend's birthday and we had a wonderful time! Every dish was amazing and our waiter was so kind. We got the crab claws as an appetizer and they did not disappoint. The ambiance of the restaurant is wonderful and I will definitely be coming here again.

And I express my thanks to my servers and bartenders, who were not only attentive in service, but also offered recommendations which led me to a great dining experience. In short, I had the following: -dry-aged Shima Ahi crudo ( flew in from Japan) -a Mordella sandwich, and -peach fried pie. My wine pairing for my dishes was a California Albariño, which was a great surprise. I'm now searching for this winemaker to add bottles to my cellar. Every dish I tried was my favorite in its own way. Each meal was well-balanced and highlighted the flavors of every ingredient. The mortadella sandwiches featured a playful twist with Cobia fish, and the house-made focaccia bread, where the mortadella and Cobia spread are nestled, was truly what focaccia dreams are made of. Plus the garlic aioli for the fries is money !!! And the peach fried hand pie was the perfect end to a great meal. The aromatics of caramelized glaze comes across like it might be super sweet. But when you bit into the flaky buttermilk pastry crust it gave it a warm, humble feeling with the perfectly diced peaches pie filling adding the right touch of sweetness. And as a special treat, this hand pie is paired with a sour cream-lemon sorbet which I didn't know I needed in my life that was refreshing. The peach fried pie is a seasonal dessert, so enjoy it while you can. Overall, the ambiance and music were spot on making it a vibe that you definitely want to come for dinner or just enjoy cocktails which looked really yummy( but that's for another time ). The unique decor, with a mix of midcentury meets fisherman lighting and a crowned octopus handles tap beer, was a lovely detail when you get to sit back and enjoy. Even the plateware where food sits on is crafted by a local Bham female artisan at Civil Stoneware, is a nice touch ( which I was obsessed with ). I hope your experience is as great as mine. Attentive without being obnoxious, in depth explanations of items on the menu with great recommendations! We started with a half dozen raw oysters and the pork belly. Oysters were very fresh and the seasoned crackers were a nice touch. The pork belly was quite possibly the best we've ever had and we're slight snobs about it. The fennel and orange mixture was a unique blend that really complemented the smokiness of the pork belly, Our steaks were melt in your mouth good. Cooked perfectly! I wished I could've just taken a massive bowl of the macaroni and cheese home. The char on the broccolini balanced the richness of the macaroni. They were sadly out of the crème brûlée, so instead I had the vanilla and peach gelato, while my husband had the chocolate l'orange cake. The vanilla gelato had the perfect rich vanilla taste. The peach didn't taste much like peach, but the flavor was still good. The cake was light and fluffy with a great balance of chocolate and orange. The candied orange peel on top was a nice touch! It's spectacular every time. The rotating menu keeps things fresh and interesting, and every dish we've had has been thoughtfully prepared and consistently excellent. The kitchen is clearly doing something special and it's a big reason we keep coming back. This visit, however, the service was unusually slow. Our dinner lasted about two hours (7:30-9:30) on a night that didn't seem particularly busy. There was a noticeable lull in the dining room with quite a few open tables, yet it still took nearly 40 minutes between finishing our appetizers and receiving our main courses. The pacing just felt off compared to past visits. Valet (which I understand isn't directly run by the restaurant) was also a bit slow -- about a 15 minute wait to get our car at the end of the night. All that said, Armour House is still a really special spot with incredible food and we'll absolutely be back.
