Strawberry Shortcake with a biscuit

Shrimp Tagliatelle(new option to the menu) was awesome, had a slight kick, but it added to the dish. Service was great from valet to our server Aly C. Aly was very knowledgeable on the menu, provided great recommendations. Vibes were flowing, staff kept a smile on their faces, patrons were enjoying themselves.

Came here for the Cinco De Mayo rooftop event. I had no idea this place had a rooftop. It would be a great place for a party! I hope they decide to do more events here. The event started at 5 and the staff wasn't quite ready and was still putting food out. For $25 you got a drink and 3 tacos. They had a margarita station set up where you could add flavors to your margarita and sample different Casamigos. The nacho bar was a hit. I hope they do plan to do more events this summer.

BONE-IN PORK SCHNITZEL- $42

Celebrated a friend's 40th bday here on a Saturday evening! The space was really nice & perfect to celebrate a birthday with friends. We started with cocktails & I had just the house gin & tonic and was pleased that it was only $8. We shared the pork belly for an appetizer & it was tasty. I had the Waygu Beef Bolognese & it was filling & was really good! The items I tasted from my friends were all good also! The Bone in Pork Schnitzel was my fav though! Our server was knowledgeable of the menu & really nice. I was disappointed there was no chicken option on the menu since I try to limit my red meat & I didn't want seafood. Also, if you don't want to valet, carve out time to look for a park. It took me 10 min to locate a park 2 blocks from the restaurant. Overall it was a good experience. I would definitely go back!

Wagyu Beef Tartar

Armour House offers a cozy, upscale dining experience that feels special from start to finish. We kicked off the night with the caviar and wagyu tartare--both great, but the tartare was a standout. The bolognese was a highlight among generous entrée portions. Service was friendly and responsive without hovering, and they added a sweet birthday touch with a complimentary scoop of vanilla ice cream. The warm atmosphere made for a nice evening, though our table near the entrance was less private than we'd prefer. It's on the pricier side, but worth it for a special occasion. Would definitely return!

Tried out Armour House recently and honestly, it's one of the best new spots I've been to in Birmingham. The space is gorgeous -- exposed brick, cozy lighting, and a cool mix of modern and classic vibes. Great place for a date night or a nicer dinner with friends. We started with the frites -- super fresh and full of flavor. Light but still satisfying, and beautifully plated. For the main dish, we tried seared Gulf fish, seafood risotto, bone-in Duroc pork chop, farm cabbage, and it was next-level good. Our server was great -- really friendly and on top of everything without hovering. Also helped us pick a wine that paired perfectly with dinner. Prices are on the higher side, but totally worth it for the quality and overall experience. If you're looking for a spot that feels a little special without being over-the-top fancy, Armour House is definitely worth checking out.

Everything went well and the meal was excellent. Our server didn't disappoint and was very knowledgeable.

Dinner here was wonderful! All of the plates we had were delicious. The service was very attentive throughout the whole experience and our host provided great suggestions as well. It is a beautiful restaurant and I enjoyed the ambiance. Prices are on the higher side, so it is not a place I would go back to soon, but I would definitely return for a special occasion.

Came here on a Tuesday night for a solo dinner while traveling for work. Sat and the bar and it was very quiet. The restaurant looked very busy though. After a long day of working a quiet area was nice. Full menu at the bar as well. I got the wagyu beef bolognese. It was amazing. Definitely would recommend. Picture does not do the meal justice.

Upon arrival there were no issues with parking thanks to the complementary valet. We were seated I. A timely manner. Unfortunately, I found the food to be average. One member in my party had to send her flounder back as it was overcooked. However, mine was cooked just right although bland. Another member in my party had the red snapper and reported that it was excellent! Drinks were also excellent but pricy. Our waitress was extremely knowledgeable and attentive! Ambience would have been great if it wasn't so loud.

Wanted to be blown away by Amour house but I was sadly let down. While everything we ate was good, it did not justify the prices. We made a reservation and the $25 per person fee for the res is soooo pretentious like yall need to relax. First thing I noticed when I came in was how loud it was, it calmed down as it got later in the night but I could barely hear the waiter speak. Our waiter was nice but she seemed to forget about us halfway through the meal which prolonged our stay there and we didn't leave until 9:00 pm. The food didn't take too long to come out but our steak wasn't very hot which was disappointing because it was $90! Now on to the positives... the bread service, drinks and dessert where all perfection! BUT I went for the entries and they were all fine. This was a $500 meal and it was not justified:( but I would come back for that bread!! And apps, drinks and desserts. (Armour and Lapeer seem very similar, menu wise, if you are trying to choose between the two, I would definitely pick Armour House.)

Youngest Sons Birthday, we let him choose and being a foodie, it was Armour House on a Friday evening, a place he wanted to try. Loved how they repurposed a Historic building, many touches of class. One thing when they start filling tables with guest our conversations ended. Good thing we had 5:00 reservation. Thank you Caleb for the excellent Wine and Starter recommendations. Thanks to our most wonderful server, Kiomi a woman with Many talents. Whipped Goat Cheese: Capriole cheese, Local Honey, pistachio, espelette pepper, herbs served with crispy toasted Lavash. I can't imagine a finer last meal starter. Whipped Goodness. 1/2 Dozen Gulf Oysters: Fresh Briney server with a 2 sauces one was a blend of acid, herbs with a touch of sweet. Very good. I always like horseradish with my oysters so I asked for some. I have never been served fresh grated horseradish. I was wowed by the combination. I am officially spoiled. Also worth mentioning while trying to keep this shorter Is: Seared Gulf Red Snapper on a crab bisque with a fresh veg succotash :) Beef Tenderloin with some of the best wood fired mushrooms. Ribeye with the Tallow Frites which you need now. All these dishes cooked to perfection, seasoned well but not overly done. Hay your youngest only turns 29 once. Next year will be a hard choice!

This was our first time trying this place after numerous attempts of getting a reservation. I can see why there is such a desire to come here. The ambiance and decor set the tone for a true dining experience. The complimentary valet is so awesome also. Once we were in, the attendant at the front desk greeted us immediately and took us right to our seat. Our server came right over and greeted us and started making suggestions for our dinner. We had the pork schnitzel and seared gulf fish. Both entree's were excellent!! The food was prepared to perfection. One thing we loved was that they had a person to bring out our entree's separately! The last time that happened was when we were at Emeril's out of town on a trip. The desserts were nothing short of our dinner. The bread pudding and peaches and cream were definitely made when we ordered them. They were so fresh tasty. After a delicious meal, we decided to go downstairs to Pogo which is the speak easy connected to the restaurant. There was a three string band playing that was excellent. The mood and atmosphere of the was definitely one we will recreate real soon. If you haven't been yet, please plan an evening of food, elegance and fun here! Thank me later!!!!!

They do offer valet!! This place... She's stunning, extravagant, delicious, elegant, expensive! and impressive. I went with 3 pals and every thing we ordered absolutely was fabulous. The service was very good. I didn't fall completely in love with the red wines I tried and opted for a gin Ginny instead - excellent choice. I definitely recommend this place for an impressive evening or special occasion.

I genuinely could have ordered almost anything off the menu; everything sounded delicious. Unfortunately, I don't have the budget or the ability to consume every dish off the menu, so my boyfriend and I settled on splitting 2 small plates and 1 entree. What we ordered: -Smoked Fish Fritters: a Cuban delicacy. Still thinking about how good these were. Plenty to share! -Snapper Ceviche: personally not my thing, but my boyfriend loved this. I honestly wanted to like this, but the raw fish started to weird me out. -Jerk Chicken: served atop a tomato/bbq risotto that was devine. The inside here is so cozy and slightly tropical. They have a huge alcoholic selection too if that's your vibe. I'm so excited to return and try some more dishes!

I ordered the Espresso Martini ($14); it was lacking something in the flavor, but that could possibly be from me going against the grain when ordering. I had the jerk chicken, it was not a true jerk chicken ($29) it was basically grilled chicken with sauce so when expecting something more authentic it was disappointing to say the least. The tamarind caesar ($15) was also different than I expected; although I would make a trip for it, I would order it again when visiting. The best thing I tried was actually the typhoon brusssel sprouts ($12), I was very happy with them and honestly would have been okay if that was the only thing I ordered. The wait staff was great, very personable and being willing to dicuss the menu and give suggestions. Espresso Martini(Vodka-Carajillo) 7/10 flavor is not what accustomed to might have been better with the Rum normally fixed with. Tamarind Caesar- at first glance definitely not my regular Caesar. Definitely not an average Caesar the lettuce is grilled giving it a smoky flavor, caught off guard but I would order again. 8/10 Jerk Chicken- overall was a good dish first time trying farro wasn't sure what to expect made me think of oatmeal, the mango salsa and sauce on the chicken was good the chicken itself was a bit dry but still good. Overall I would give the dish a 7.5 I rarely order chicken out and I think this was a reminder why. Typhoon Brussel Sprouts- had great taste 9/10 I could come back and get a drink with the Brussels. Would consider the Star of the night The price was consistent with the area, nothing seemed overly priced. Portions were also large enough to be split so if with a group and wanting to try multiple items you would be able to do it and have enough.

The ambiance was great with lights on the tables, low lighting overall and plenty of room between the tables. We definitely felt like we were in our own little corner, could hear each other talk, and we did not have to listen to others conversations. I really enjoyed the mocktail I ordered. It was called the Sinaloa Sunrise and was much more than a few juices poured together. It was full of flavor, and I actually said "Wow" out loud as I drank it. It included pineapple juice, lime juice, habanero brown sugar syrup, sage syrup, and grenadine sink. Before I ordered it, i I wondered about the sage syrup, but it really added to the taste. For an appetizer, we shared the Wagyu Beef Carpaccio. Our friend suggested it and he was right on the money. It consisted of fresh horseradish, truffle aioli, fingerling potatoes, pickled mustard seeds, arugula, and caciotta al tartufo. It was melt in your mouth goodness. For my entree, I went with the 8 oz Filet. It was cooked perfectly, and we shared a side order of the Brussels Sprouts Calaprese. They were absolutely delicious and plenty for the three of us. This wonderful evening ended with dessert. I went with the Bananas Foster Cheesecake. It was good, but it needed more caramel. It included brown butter caramel, pistachio banana crumble, spiced ice cream, white chocolate crèmeux and white chocolate pearls. Was this an expensive dinner? Yes, but it was well worth it. You definitely are paying for a whole experience including unique flavors in every bite and wonderful service. Our server, Matt, made the night perfect.

It might have been the slowest dinner I ever had in my life. I had a 7:00 PM reservation and I arrived early and sat down at 6:50. After being greeted and ordering wine I placed an order of the pork belly appetizer at 7:05. The pork belly appetizer came out at 8:00, 55 minutes after ordering. I placed the entree order at 7:30 and it came out at 8:30. There were only 3 other tables in the restaurant. Two three tops and a two top so not even large tables. Why on earth is it taking an hour to get out an order. I have my credit card at 8:50 and got it back at 9:15. 25 minutes to charge a card? I mean I guess you can get busy but the 4 tables here had 3 people helping with them. At no point when the server came by my table did I ever say I needed another minute. So, a 2.5+ hour dinner as a single diner was ridiculous, especially considering they were not busy. The food here was truly incredible, some of the best I've had anywhere I've traveled. I absolutely loved it. You can tell they source fresh, local ingredients daily, and that commitment clearly shines through in the quality of every dish. I started with the pork belly appetizer, which was outstanding. The cut had the perfect balance of meat and fat, expertly cooked with the fat beautifully rendered. The flavors were exceptional as well, finished with a maple glaze and paired with a sweet potato cornbread that was completely unique and memorable. For my main course, I ordered the smoked ribeye, and it was flawless. The quality was top-tier, with gorgeous marbling that truly reflected a prime cut. The smoke flavor was perfectly balanced--present but never overpowering. It had a beautiful crust, was expertly seasoned, and cooked to an ideal temperature. It honestly could not have been better. They also offered a few amuse-bouches that were equally impressive. A single bite of cherry tomato with lamb bacon was one of the best bites I've ever had. To finish, I was served a watermelon and muscadine sorbet with a St-Germain finish, an incredibly thoughtful and skillful dessert. There is an immense amount of talent in this kitchen. You will never be disappointed by the food here. My experience seemed to be overshadowed by the slow service and near the end I was so ready to just leave. However I might consider returning just for the food.
