I love this place. The decor and ambiance is amazing. They have a beautiful outdoor patio with a large television that would be great for catching the game. We have enjoyed lunch and brunch. Everything is absolutely delicious. Their jalapeño hushpuppies are amazing. For brunch, my husband loves their chicken and waffles, we shared the biscuit and conecuh gravy(biscuits were made from scratch)soooo good! Their seafood is out of this world! Their avocado toast is basically a shrimp Po'Boy with avocado and it was DELICIOUS!

Our book club met at Magnolia Point on Saturday to discuss our monthly read, and it was the perfect spot for it. The atmosphere was cozy, welcoming, and great for conversation without feeling too loud or crowded. The staff was friendly and accommodating to our group, and the food and drinks were excellent. We never felt rushed, which made it easy for us to relax, discuss the book, and enjoy the experience. Such a great place for brunch, lunch, or small group gatherings .... we'll definitely be back to this hidden gem for another book club meeting!

Visited this spot the first time with my friend for lunch and we both enjoyed it . There was no a wait. The staff is friendly and attentive . The resturant is very clean and offered an outside are with parking the back. Drinks -------- Classic margarita which was very good Food ------ I was worried that the grilled shrimp would be salty but it was perfect - SIDES--- black the pea and cucumber feta. The grilled shrimp was really good but I'd probably choose a different side next time . Po Boy- w fries- both were good and would order again. Great experience! Definitely check this place out.

Wow! I've known about this spot for a while, but hadn't made it out yet. The Pihakis group does a fantastic job of renovating spaces around town. With Magnolia Point in particular, I love that they stayed true to the outside of this historical building. Inside feels like an upscale, sports-bar-but-make-it-daytime spot. I came for lunch with my mom on a Friday and we were quite hangry. Only 5 or so other tables occupied, but they had the full bar open and TVs on. Although it was a drizzly day, the porch looks awesome. I'd love to sip a brewski out there on a summer night. I had the fried shrimp platter with a side of collard greens and mac and cheese. The mac is seasoned well, almost a little overly seasoned for how I like my mac (more eggy, light). The collard greens and hushpuppies were outstanding. Fried shrimp hit the mark, too. Although this place is in a very central spot of Birmingham, it still is a bit off the beaten path. Very rarely am I driving down this road, although I live so close! I'll have to remember this spot more often. It is priced for a more special-ish occasion, though.

The food is really good here! Favorites so far are the fish tacos, lemon pepper wings, crab claws, the rice, and fried green tomatoes. I've tried a few other items those are just my top pick. The staff are great also! The vibe here is relaxing.

Been wanting to try this place out for a little while and finally got the chance to. The inside is very spacious and comforting. Started off with the jalapeño cheddar hush puppies and they were very appetizing. Had the perfect crunch. For our entree we had half and half poboy and combo platter. The seafood was very fresh. We had the mango and house margaritas and they were very strong (loved). Overall everything was good. Our sever was really sweet and helpful.

First time here and this is a neat and renovated place! We sat in the back outside! Umbrellas and different colored seating, stage with TV and DJ a certain times of the season, with lots of plants to make it feel homey! Great parking lot for being downtown! Quick walk up to the restaurant. In honor of their one year anniversary, they served a free shrimp broil to everyone! And $2 porch lights! I will say those friend green tomatoes were amazing! Their remoulade sauce was VERY good with a hint of heat! There were bits of shrimp with fresh avocado and summer veggies mixed in to take it over the top!

I finally made it to Magnolia Point! My late afternoon Saturday visit was perfect. It wasn't crowded at all. First off , there's a dedicated patron parking lot in the rear of the restaurant! Now let's get to it ... I sat at the bar and Gabriel took the greatest care of me. I ordered a $5 (happy hour wine) glass off Sauvignon Blanc. It was very refreshing and lovely tasting! Since I wasn't that hungry , I had a cup of gumbo and an order of the jalapeño hush puppies. Both were equally delicious and satisfying! Nice portions. I also got a slice of key lime pie to go. This pie was outstanding and I'm so glad I was talked into getting a slice..... no regrets! The price point was reasonable for what I got. I absolutely love the ambiance here. It has a nice open , modern feel to you.. very comfortable and beautiful inside . Their patio is adorable too & I definitely plan to return to bask in the sun on a day when it's not raining. This is a great spot to grab a light snack and have a few drinks. I am adding Magnolia Point to my list of amazing happy hour spots. Their happy hour is 7 days a week , 4 pm-6pm. They also have daily specials. My first time visit here was amazing & I definitely will be back!

The vibes are so great at Magnolia Point! There were 6 of us and we were able to get sat immediately. We really wanted to sit on the patio but there was a threat of storms. Outside has a great patio with bistro lighting, beautiful plants, and a big screen tv which makes for a great game day spot! The service started out great as we were one of the only tables inside. Once we got our food and a large table of about 20 was sat behind us, it was harder to get service although I believe it was mainly our two groups. We had asked another team member for a couple items we were waiting on and some water, but they just said they would get our waitress although she was busy with the large table. Aside from that, which can happen, we had a great time! I got the burger and it was so delicious and juicy! It came exactly as I asked. The other gals had po boys and seafood platters and everyone really enjoyed what they got. Parking is good as they have a parking lot which is typically uncommon for the 5 points area and it felt clean and safe. The curb appeal was really nice! Looking forward to more nights on the patio.

At the table enjoying the food and drinks.

Went for a 80th birthday party dinner and we had a ball. The service was excellent for us to be a party of 25 with one server. The food was hot and we all enjoyed.

Had a reservation for 7:15. Arrived at 7:15 and was seated immediately. For a Friday night the place wasn't packed. They have plenty of parking in the back. The inside is nicely decorated with plenty of seating. They also have outside seating. We ordered gumbo, crab claws (fried and sautéed) and blackened bbq chicken. First off the seafood gumbo was non existent of seafood, conecuh sausage and seasoning. This was the most bland tasting gumbo I've ever had, no creole or Cajun seasoning no where. The crab claws were fried and sautéed to perfection; seasoned well. My husband had the blackened chicken. It was too spicy and tasted more like a jerk chicken. They do have a good variety of adult beverages, from wine to beer to cocktails. If we choose to go back it would only be for the crab claws and cocktails. By the way, service was great, sorry don't remember our server's name.

I love this place and will be back! It's clean, bright, and spacious. I had the crab claws (sautéed), catfish, potato salad, and greens. My mom had the seafood platter, it's so worth the money for the amount of good food you get. I'm gonna keep this short and sweet; it's GOOD!! Shoutout to our waiter, Heather! She was nice, attentive and gave great suggestions. I was told the chef's name was Carlos! Anyway... I loved it!

Yelp! Magnolia Point is a nice new spot to dine. We are a party of 5 girlfriends having our monthly gathering. We got all types of Appetizers; crab claws, wings-lemon pepper and hot, smoked tina dip, hush puppies and 2 orders of gumbo! Everything good. On Entrees we got 2 orders of catfish, one with greens and a baked potato and one with greens and Mac and cheese. There were 2 orders of grouper, 1 fried 1 blackened one greens and Mac and cheese and one with with a baked potato and Mac and cheese. One order of oysters with greens and steed okra and tomatoes. Everybody satisfied. Thanks to Russell for his wonderful service. You brand new, but you getting the job done. Y'all Already know I'm happy. So, I'll be back.

It was almost like a chopped Caesar salad and it was just the right amount for a small girl dinner. If you like Parmesan cheese, this is a must order as they do not skimp on that! What was really nice however was that you couldn't tell the food was from a food truck. It was great quality and you are able to order from inside the bar and they deliver it to you. That was a great service. I can't quite remember which cocktail I got, but it was very delicious and at one point the server had even given me a new chilled glass so my drink would remain cold as I sipped on it. This is definitely a great date night spot or just a place to grab a drink with friends, definitely a little more upscale as we were there in the evening, so the lights were dim. I won't drop my rating as it's spring time in the South but I remember being cold immediately as I walked in- but that's typical for a lot of places.

The menu rotates seasonally, which makes it easier to try new things. My favorite menu item so far has been the cheeseball that was on the menu around Christmas time. It had a great flavor served with crackers the only thing is when we came back after the first of the year it wasn't on the menu anymore. On my most recent visit I had the queso which also had great flavor, served with blue corn tortilla chips. When it comes to the drinks I like how on the menu they let you know how strong it is using toucans. Many of the drinks feature rum, but they do still offer some gin and tequila options. Everything I've had has been good and something I would try again. I would like to note that many of the drinks are fruity and can be somewhat sweet. At Christmas time they even had holiday themed drinkware which I felt was a nice touch. If you are not a drinker, they also have options for mocktails. Which has been great for me the last couple of months. I didn't care for the Phony Negroni, but I think Negroni itself might be an acquired taste

Can Brussels be overcooked? Apparently not. These aren't as charred as the photo suggests. The red wine / balsamic reduction adds a lot of color to them. They may look charred but there's no burned taste in the flavor. I know, those poor little Brussels look overwhelmed, but they're not. They were good in my mouth and belly.
