Joined a friend for dinner. We were quickly seated. The location is large and perfect for groups. She frequents this location so I followed her lead with the order. We both got the buffalo wings with lemon pepper, extra crispy as an app. The wings were really good. The sauce was rich and flavorful and the wings were fried to perfection. My only complaint was they were really big. My personal preference is smaller yet meaty wings. We got the 1/2 lbs shrimp bag with excess sausage and mild house sauce. The bag before the extra was only about $10. It comes with the corn, sausage and potato. That price is crazy good! The shrimp were a great size and the ingredients seemed fresh. The sauce was a very bland to me (in comparison to similar restaurants). The servers were really sweet. Checking on us often but not overdoing it. All in all, I would return again! The young lady at the door on last Saturday around 8:59pm was rude and very condescending. Me and my husband walked in she said how many I said two, some friends of ours walked in and she said "oh just to let you know there is an automatic 18% gratuity. We asked why, she said you know them we seat you as a group. How are you just going to tell me and assume we wanted to sit with them. We asked for two, and that's how we should have been seated. Your business lost BIG money from a group of out of town bikers in town for a special event. I have enjoyed this restaurant in the past, with consistently good food and service. I've also spent many years working in the restaurant industry as a server, bartender, and hostess, and I've dined in restaurants across the U.S., so I have a strong understanding of service standards, professionalism, and customer care. Unfortunately, today's visit to Crab Barrack was a complete and total disappointment from start to finish. After being seated, our drinks were delivered and our order placed. The appetizers took longer than expected, but the hushpuppies and fried okra were hot and flavorful. That said, they were delivered by our server while she was actively on her cell phone, engaged in a call. She remained on the phone again when she returned to the table shortly afterward. A server being on a phone while serving guests is unacceptable, unprofessional, and immediately sends the message that customers are not a priority. The lack of professionalism continued throughout the visit. A hostess at the front desk was wearing a midriff-baring top, which is completely inappropriate attire for a restaurant of this type. While she looked nice, this is not a beach bar or a themed establishment like Hooters. It reflected poorly on management and a lack of oversight regarding basic dress code standards. When my oysters arrived, they were barely warm, filled with grit, and had an unpleasant, off taste. I tried several, hoping to find one that was acceptable, but ultimately had to spit them out into my napkin. They were clearly not cleaned or prepared properly. I informed the server, yet there was no explanation, no apology beyond a minimal response, no offer to replace them, and no indication that management or the kitchen would be notified. To make matters worse, the potatoes that should have arrived with my oysters were delivered nearly 15 minutes later. When I pointed this out, the server stated she thought they were my appetizer -- despite the fact that our appetizers had already been served and clearly identified. This demonstrated a complete lack of awareness and basic common sense regarding the order. Then there was the tea. It tasted strongly off, almost as if contaminated. When I mentioned this, the response was simply that it was "Red Diamond tea." I have been drinking Red Diamond tea my entire life and can confidently say it has never tasted like that. While the tea was replaced, again, no acknowledgment or concern was shown. Throughout the entire experience, there was no attempt to make things right -- no meaningful apology, no replacement of the inedible food, no explanation, and no gesture of goodwill. Adding to the uncomfortable atmosphere were large "NO REFUNDS" signs taped to every napkin holder, which made the dining experience feel unwelcoming and defensive, more fitting of a rundown food stand than a restaurant of this caliber. We did not request refunds or discounts and fully intended to pay our bill regardless. However, basic accountability and customer care were completely absent. The service issues, food quality problems, and lack of professionalism collectively made this a very unpleasant experience. On a positive note, the server herself was polite in demeanor, and I did leave with a couple of potatoes to take home. That said, this experience was more than enough to ensure we will not return, and we will share this experience with anyone who asks about this restaurant. A friend and I came here for dinner. This was my first time at this location. When we arrived the place wasn't packed at all. Out server was very friendly and answered all of the questions I had about the different seasonings. I ordered the crab legs, shrimp, and sausage. The forgot my sausage in the back and brought me some out in a bowl. There's definitely a different taste without it being mixed in with the sauce. As we were leaving I notice they had a sign saying they served gumbo. I wish I would've saw this when we were dinning in. Never the less, I ordered some to go. Wow! This place was amazing!! My family had walked in around 9:05 after working late and needing dinner, but not wanting the typical fast food. They told us that normally they do not seat anyone after 9 on the dot, but that they would take us this time. Our server was a wonderful woman who connected with my daughter and loved on us the way she would her own children. I hope to see her face again. We ordered the $25 bag special for the adults and OMG they were delicious!! I had been craving a seafood boil for a while and this was exactly what I envisioned when I was craving one. The restaurant was clean and very nearly kept up. We loved the sea creatures all around us and they even took music requests from us. Too much food but everything was flavorful and it was the right amount of heat. Shrimp & okra gumbo - perfect addition to the meal (probably why the bag was too much). Everything was cooked just right and this was delish! I was eating in my hotel so had to use my hands as the plastic fork didn't help in breaking open the crab. This place is so good & the employees were friendly & attentive. I got the shrimp boil (medium heat, which was just right - some heat, but not dying) & my mom ordered the whiting fish basket and fries. We were both very pleased with our food. I even used some of my mom's fries to soak up every bit of the Cajun seasoning - boil on my plate. Great place! Service is always friendly and food is served quickly. The one time I sat in was nice because there are so many selections for seating (spacious.) And we barely had to wait. The food is delicious and filling. I've had their King Crabs a couple of times and they're so meaty and flavorful. The Snow Crabs are also my favorite and are always done right. Seriously.. if you want great boiled seafood this is a nice spot but they don't take to-go orders by phone which is an inconvenience. It would be nice if there was a place to order and pre pay online that way customers don't have to wait in the store for their to go orders! I've been scoping this place out for a while across town and the perfect day finally came. We went in Father's Day expecting a wait but the restaurant was practically empty, not usually a good sign, but the church crowd wasn't out yet. Our waitress was a joy. She was super kind and even put the crab boil bib on my husband. I got the fried shrimp and catfish basket with onion rings. They were definitely fresh fried and tasted great! I also enjoyed their honey mustard and boom boom sauce. My MIL got the fried shrimp with okra. I'm not an okra fan but this stuff was amazing! My husband was the star of the show for this one though he got the low country boil with all the seasoning, crawfish and shrimp. He really liked the corn, potatoes, shrimp. He didn't eat the crawfish and did not enjoy them. For the smell alone I have it 4/5. This place is a great spot to stop in for some affordable seafood. read more
