I've always known this place as a place to order party trays from. They do, forever, have a handful of tables where you can sit and dine in for a meal. Their Hu Tiu Nam Vang is pretty legit and a meat try. I got mine half rice noodle and half egg noodle. They do load up on the protein and the broth comes with a piece of bone. It's a great dish to have on a cold day.

It hits in the summer, it'll definitely hit in the winter. Danh's Kitchen offers a very tasty array of food options, but the highlight in my opinion are their soups (Hu Tieu in particular). You can get it dry or wet (I prefer wet) and you get a giant pork bone to gnaw on while you eat. Definitely a comfort spot in my opinion. The only downsides is that there is very limited tables and parking, but the food makes up for it. Expect to wait for a table when you come. The staff is very kind and attentive as they are pushing out good food. It's a great mom and pop shop. Would come here many times over.

I've driven passed this restaurant many times. It has a very small parking lot and tight parking spaces. However, you can park in the neighborhood next to it. I would say this is a hole in the wall type of restaurant, but it's definitely popular with the Vietnamese community. When I walked in people were walking out with large trays of food, they even have small rice bentos for lunches ready too. Danh's kitchen is known for their hủ tiếu nam vang (aka Phnom Penh rice noodle soup) that's what everyone who was dining in was eating. You can pick between rice noodles, egg noodles or half/half, and if you want it dry or wet. Dry is a soy based sauced mix with the toppings. Wet is a soup. The dry version also gets a side of soup. For the dish, it came with various meats such as sliced chicken, tiger prawn, liver, bean sprouts, chrysanthemum greens, quail eggs, pork skin cracklings, green onions, chives. Along with those it comes with a large pork bone that is fall of the bone tender which was used to make the soup broth. For $18, it's a large portion and I had leftovers to take home. Definitely recommend this spot. One more thing, I took home a rice bento thing which was coconut sticky rice with garlic and coconut, and a really delicious chicken thigh/breast. It was very tasty and only $8. I'll be back. Oh also, they do have an indoor ac unit but it's not that strong. On a very cold winter day, the restaurant itself was very warm.

This is the hu tieu. Comparable with Mekha iykyk. I always get half rice noodles half egg noodle, off menu but they'll do it. Each dish comes with a pork bone. Service and ambiance are very Vietnamese iykyk

The egg noodle bowl on the top with fried chicken and tofu was phenomenal. The chicken was similar to fish sauce wings and the tofu was very caramelized and had a nice salty coating of sauce. The bottom was nem nướng and pork with the woven noodles. It was a very big portion, but the fresh herbs/veggies made it feel balanced. An order of spring rolls were also ordered, but wasn't in the photo. It was ordered with crispy pork belly. Based on some reviews, I was skeptical about ordering the pork belly, but I was pleasantly surprised. The skin was very crispy and you could hear the crunch from across the restaurant. The restaurant is very open with big windows, but I liked the concept of the open kitchen look. The service was really good. We ended up ordering pork belly and shrimp for our spring rolls and the worker politely came by and told us they were out of it. He was able to accommodate for it and was very kind about it. Even though you can order at the table with a QR code, the staff was very attentive.

It's a Vietnamese delicacy you can't find anywhere else in Oregon so I'm glad to have to a Portland restaurant to offer this. They give a plentiful amount of fresh herby veggies combo with fresh hot rice noodles alongside tender flavorful char siu and SUPER CRISPY pork belly! The staff are friendly and the store is extremely aesthetic, the interior has this spin on modern Vietnamese style of decorations. Great interiors that's won't disappoint your date. I absolutely recommend coming here for their niche Vietnamese food!

Downtown Portland's hidden gem for authentic Vietnamese!…read more I was walking around downtown Portland and stumbled upon Cuốn Vietnamese Street Food, and honestly, it was the best meal of my week . If you are looking for fresh, flavorful, and satisfying comfort food, do not walk--run to this spot. To get the full experience, we ordered a variety, and every single item was a hit. We started with the Beef Pho, and the broth was the absolute star. It was rich, aromatic, and deeply savory, clearly simmered for hours. It was the perfect dish on a sunny Portland day. We also grabbed a Chicken Banh Mi. The bread had that perfect crispy crust with a soft, airy crumb, and the chicken was grilled to perfection with fresh veggies and herbs. Of course, we had to wash it all down with a creamy, sweet Thai Tea--it was delicious and the perfect end to the meal. Beyond the food, the vibe is great. It's a super clean, casual spot with big windows letting in lots of natural light. It's set up for quick counter service, which makes it perfect for a fast lunch downtown, but the staff is so friendly and welcoming that you feel right at home. It's a family-run business, and you can taste the passion in the food. Highlights: · The Pho Broth: Seriously some of the best in the city. · The Banh Mi: Fresh bread, great fillings. · The Service: Fast, efficient, and incredibly kind. Pro Tip: Don't forget to grab your own utensils and sauces (the chili crisp is a must for the pho), and help yourself to the free self-serve hot tea. It's the little touches like that which make this place a winner. I am already planning my next trip back to try the Crispy Pork Belly. Highly recommend

Positives: fresh, well made, very flavorful proteins. Cons:…read morePrice I tried Cuon for the first time and enjoyed it. I went for a Vermicelli bowl where you get to pick 2 proteins. I selected Pork Belly (their specialty) and lemongrass chicken. The bowl itself is standard Vietnamese fare, nothing special, creative or exciting in that sense. That said, the ingredients tasted fresh and the proteins were very well seasoned and cooked. The pork belly skin had an awesome crunch and you can clearly taste the lemongrass in the chicken. The included spring roll had nice crunch but little flavor. Unfortunately, outside of Pho, Banh Mi and Noodle Bowls, there's sadly not much else to the menu. No Vietnamese salads, stir frys, etc. Either way, what they do make, they seem to make quite well. So, on to my main issue ie, that for a place thats only open for lunch, the prices are a bit too high. I noted about $16 for a Banh Mi sandwich, no sides. Pho was around $20 and my noodle bowl was about $20 as well. Weirdly, its about the same prices as eating lunch back home in Miami, a FAR more expensive city in general. In fact, I've often had more exciting Vietnamese in Manhattan for lower prices. So while its easy to recommend Cuon on quality, its not a top recommendation for lunch value in the PDX which is why Im docking 1 star.
