The quality of the food at Dancing Chopsticks is sometimes really good and other times passable. You never know what to expect when you set foot here. But today I certainly wasn't expecting a few pieces of plastic in my order of Pork Katsu Curry Rice. I was halfway done with it before I bit on something hard. I thought it was bone at first, but they were really sharp plastic pieces (pictured). I wasn't craving any plastic for lunch, so I quickly lost my appetite. Their quality has noticeably gone down since a few years ago, and this incident is unfortunately going to make me stop going here anymore. If you decide to go here, make sure to thoroughly chew your food.

If you'd like to see my Dancing Chopstick, just put this outfit on for me and it's not a problem. Billy Idol may have been dancing with himself, but I prefer dancing with my chopstick. What to get: The Chicken Katsu Curry or Pork Katsu Curry are phenomenal. Their homemade Sriracha sauce is good. Why so good: It's a portion the size of a house, and is so tasty and hearty like your Dad. What else: Teriyaki is okay, bubble tea is decent, Congee is tasty and filling. What else: Everything is affordable and the menu is huge like your Uncle. Dancing Chopsticks... one of the most underrated places on any college campus, anywhere. Probably not quite as perfect as the stellar Korean Express just across the hall in the commons, but it's right up there with the yummy Kofte at Rachel's, the Lebanese place almost next door. Their Katsu Curry, I would say, is the real highlight standout. It's delicious, and the portions are so amazing. They add potato to their curry sauce, makes it really hearty. Portions are incredibly enormous. The coleslaw-type salad under the egg is ok. The egg is a nice touch although I stopped eating yolks when I found out that one yolk is the cholesterol equivalent of smoking 5 cigarettes. Chicken Teriyaki is good, not great. Same for Bubble Teas. However, if you want to try some Congee in Buffalo, this is the place to come. The Congee is not only cheap but amazing! I didn't even know what Congee was before I came here, but if it's a cold day and you need something delicious and hearty to warm you up, you should give it a try. They have lots of different types of it too. The Bubble Tea is dirt cheap and the fruity flavours are a little basic and sweet, but good. The milky flavours aren't my thing but I'm very spoiled for Milk Tea (Sharetea, Gong Cha, Coco, it's your fault). The service is good as are the prices. The worst thing about this restaurant - by far - are the awful reviews from other UB students. I think students must be a little more harsh on food that non-students because if this place, or Korean Express, with these dirt cheap prices, was somewhere out in Amherst or Cheektowaga, in a plaza, I think it'd have 4.5 stars or so. And of all the things you may chop in your life, I don't recommend you chop sticks. Even if they manage to get the sticks back on, they may never work properly again. Just ask John Wayne B.

It's always a good meal, when I decide to get some takeout from dancing Chopsticks. I've been getting takeout from here since my sophomore year, since my friend recommended me this place and gave me ideas for what to get. I love their Udon, and their Yakisoba, which is usually my to go order. Their food quality is very good for the cost, and so many varieties of Japanese food. Their quantity is also very good. Their tofu fried rice and chicken Katsu are also pretty delicious!

Got a bento box (chicken teriyaki) and half way through my meal i found this floating in my chicken. the food was actually pretty good... until i found this creature swimming in it. Quality control is important. There shouldn't be bugs in my food.

I was craving asian food and found this place on UB North Campus. I guess a place would be on campus to cater to the students there. I went there when it was summer session so there wasn't that many if any people on campus which was good and easy for parking. I was able to pull into the lot up front and walk to the food court area place. I've been here once for lunch once and ordered the donburi. While waiting for our food to come, I always wondered what donburi meant. So I googled it up and oyako means parents and children, like chicken and egg, and don (donburi) means a bowl. Pretty much a simple one bowl mean with flavorful chunks of chicken wrapped in a custardy blanket of eggs with seasoning. I learned something new that day for all the times I've ordered this donburi at japanese places, I now know what it means. The donburi was a huge bowl but mainly filled with rice and and good amount of the chicken and egg. For me, it was not bad especially coming form Hawaii where we are spoiled by all types of asian food. They also have sushi and other items on the menu which I need to try when I come back.

I have come here multiple times as an on campus option. Great food, fast service. Try their fried rice. It's their specialty. Their rice bowls are pretty good too. Tell them if you want yours spicy because they customize. FYI the portions are huge. Great food for a very reasonable price.

In UB's North Campus Commons, Dancing Chopsticks is supposed to be a Japanese eatery, but is really more of a pan-Asian restaurant designed to cater to the university crowd. I loved their HUGE variety of bento boxes. And I was shocked to see how big the boxes are - think about a tray you get in an airplane. Then double it. I ordered the teriyaki chicken bento box which came with a sizable portion of stirfry chicken, a salad, a ball of rice as well as a selectable side - I chose dumplings. There's a bit of a wait as the food is cooked to order (unlike its cafeteria style neighbor, Young Chow), but the food was piping hot and tasty. You also get a complimentary cup of hot tea.

I have never been here with it busy. Came here one day with gf and ordered pork egg congee and spicy fried chicken. The food took about 10 minutes to come out which was quite long considering we were the only ones being served. The congee had way too much rice. Should be soup based with meats and rice. Rather what we got was a bowl of wet rice with pork and eggs. The flavor though was good. The spicy fried chicken is pretty bad. Not sure what they are using for the spicy sauce (not sriacha) but it really has this bitter taste. The chicken was dry. Kind of depressing. Had to douse the chicken with sriacha in order for it to be edible. dish also came with two salads of lettuce and Italian dressing and corn with a mayonaise based dressing. Personally those just do not mix... Terrible mix of veggies and sauce. Corn would've been better in it's own and the salad was just disgusting... They also serve a ton of rice as if the 6-7 slices of chicken you get is enough to eat alongside of it. Overall, I would probably never come here again. With the huge variety of stores right next to this one, there isn't really any reason to come here again unless you like your food dry and boring

I never thought of reviewing any restaurant in UB commons area. Surely they are not the best ones in their class. But this place definitely a better one compared to it's counterparts. It's not authentic at all, but you'll get decent food at fair price. Also recently they increased their portion size. Now enjoy!

I like this place because they serve congee and it was my holy grail when I was sick during the winter... This place has a lot of varieties that you can choose from but my favorite is anything with katsu *-*
