My soon to be 6-year-old has just completed her 2nd year at Dancers Workshop. They are an incredible organization, and my daughter has thrived under their direction. She absolutely adores her teacher, Ms. Naomi, and wants to be in all of her classes. We've done the ballet/tap combo class for two years and added the jazz/hip hop combo class this year, and my daughter always comes out of the class with the brightest smile. Watching these kiddos do the shuffle step in their tiny tap shoes or hot steppin' while Gettin' Jiggy With It is the embodiment of joy in human form! 10 out of 10, would recommend! read more

She has confidence, has fun, and learns every time she comes to the studio mostly due to the amazing teachers and the environment they create. Our daughter has been dancing at this studio for 10 years, and we truly couldn't imagine a better place for her to grow as both a dancer and a person. The teaching staff--Ms. Lexi, Mr. Gabe, Ms. Ashley, Ms. Emily, Mr. Calvin, and Ms. Angie--are nothing short of exceptional. They are not only incredibly skilled, but also deeply caring and supportive of every dancer who walks through their doors. What we've appreciated most over the years is the balance they strike between love and high expectations. The teachers push their dancers to reach their full potential, instilling discipline, work ethic, and confidence, while also creating a nurturing environment where kids feel seen, supported, and encouraged. Our daughter has grown up surrounded by mentors who believe in her and challenge her, and she has developed not just strong technique, but lifelong values and friendships. My daughter had Ms. Taylor and she learned so much in the few months she took lessons. Easy to sign up online. I'm not a huge fan of the shopping plaza that it was located in but overall the quality of instruction and progress I saw in my girl was amazing! read more

My daughter had been going to summer camps here for two summers. She absolutely loved it. This summer she went to a different dance camp and I definitely saw the difference. Dancer's Workshop's summer camps were very well organized. There were usually 2-3 teachers for a group. Each teacher has the kids for an hour or so. In one week, the kids learned four types of dance: ballet, jazz, tap, and hip hop. On Friday, at the end of camps, the kids would have a pizza party, and then perform four songs, with costumes (the studio lent the costumes to the kids). My daughter loved the costumes. I was very impressed the kids could learn to dance four numbers in short time. All of them did very well. I think my daughter would want me to sign her up again next year! read more

My 3y8m daughter went to one of their Princess Dance camps this summer, and loved every second of it. 5 days, 9am-1pm, ages 3-5. She'd never had any dance classes or anything else of the sort, but like many little girls she adores tutus so it was a perfect opportunity to try it out without a commitment. Yeah, we're signing her up for weekly classes there. The teachers were great with all the kids, it was well organized, no dress code (my DD wore a different tutu outfit every day of course, but there were kids in all kinds of outfits), and they have loaner shoes so you don't have to shell out $$$ on gear only to find out your kid hates dance. The director of the school was great with communication and wasn't bothered at all by me checking in- DD had never been to a drop off program other than her 2x/wk preschool where she already knew some kids and this was all new people so I was nervous. She was one of the youngest in the class so of course her dancing skills at the week end recital weren't as... "complete" as the others but you could tell she had been practicing movements and was doing her darndest to show them off when she wasn't saying things like "Hi, Mommy! There's Daddy!", "My gramma's here, too! My gramma!", and "Look Mommy, I'm doing my arabesque!". I highly recommend their camps, and after a few months of classes I'll update my review. read more

Be cautious with these people. They are not very friendly and professional and I would not suggest you take your daughter there. The staff has displayed some unprofessional attitudes and it was disappointing. I would suggest going to a different dance Studio. Not the most professional and be weary to take your kids there. read more

My son has been attending dancers workshop for over a year now. He was interested in taking hip hop dance lessons, and at first I was hesitant to enroll him at a dance studio, as I wrongly assumed it was a female centric activity. After speaking with the staff, they talked me through the class options and dance styles open to him. He ended up going with the hip hop class. He's learned so much from them, and has learned a true passion and respect for music. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a great studio, with truly passionate instructors and staff. read more

Dancers Workshop needs to post VERY CLEARLY on their website and all of their forms that there are absolutely no refunds for tuition. I made the mistake of paying ahead for two summer classes for my daughter so I wouldn't forget, only to find out my daughter suddenly wanted to stop after going for a full year. I figured the first class was a lost cause, but called ahead of the second class to see if I could be refunded for it. No dice. I was so frustrated - it feels like they're taking my money and I was out $70! All that said, my daughter had a very positive experience while she took classes there - the instruction is good, class times are good for working parents, and they really do a good job with the end of the year recital. So I give it at least 2 stars for that. They can't refund tuition because they pay their instructors based on demand, which I understand. But they need to not be afraid to post their refund policy boldly and clearly so that more parents like myself don't pay ahead and waste hard earned money on their non-refundable classes! read more

We enrolled out 3 yr old daughter in two consecutive weeks of half-day dance camp over the summer because there are so few options during August in Austin. Our experience was all positive. The teachers and junior teachers were terrific, and they even taught her right and left! My daughter loved it. She was thrilled to put on her leotard every morning and skip out to the car, which is a big boon when you have a 3 yr old. Each week of camp ended in a short evening performance, complete with two costume changes for the kids. Because my girl loved the camps so much, we enrolled her in a weekly ballet/tap combo class with one of her teachers from camp. To date, I have zero complaints with this studio and its staff. read more

Dancer's Workshop is the real deal. Our daughter has been dancing here for two years -- the instructors are fabulous, the office staff are kind and helpful, and overall the quality of dance/dancers they put out is superb. Their facilities are also nice and convenient. Highly recommend! read more

My daughter has been attending Dancers Workshop for several years. Our experience with instructors has been mixed. Some are good dancers and teachers, and some are only good dancers. Of course, that's true for any dance studio, and I would have given DW 3 stars if not for the extreme frustration I have experienced related to the business end of the studio. DW forces parents to have to deal with the front office constantly but then staffs it with very unfriendly, unhelpful people. You can't pay online or with a credit card, so you either have to take them a check every month or give them access to your bank account, which means you'd be risking your account info with an obviously unsophisticated organization. You're also forced to deal extensively with the front office to select a class because DW uses an unbelievably outdated registration system that requires parents to call the front office, ask what classes are being offered at what days/times, and then have descriptions of classes read to them. There's nothing on the web site (or on paper anywhere) to provide info about class times or descriptions! And if you're part of a family with 2 full-time working parents and 3 daughters with complicated schedules, the person on the other end of the phone inevitably will lose patience with you and get snippy. Believe me, I've gone through it multiple times now. Another thing that's frustrating about DW is that classes are very recital oriented. Participation in the recital is supposedly optional, but all the classes are so focused on the recital that there's no way around participating unless you want your daughter sitting out during a substantial portion of her classes. The recital itself is stressful because of very long rehearsal and performance days at a time of the year when kids inevitably have a lot going on. DW tries to have too many recital performances on the same day. Also, once the recital is over in mid-April, you're forced to continue through May because DW makes parents pay for May in August. But there's really no worthwhile instruction after the recital. May classes are a waste. On a similar note, classes start early in August before school starts, which is another inconvenience that doesn't really seem to have a valid purpose other than generating money for DW. The bottom line is that the classes at DW are fine. However, dealing with the front office is extremely frustrating. They are not family-friendly at all. If they were, they would at least offer an option for paying by credit card (busy parents would be happy to pay a service charge), and they would make it easier to select classes. They also would have a better schedule that didn't start in early August and continue for 6 weeks after the recital. Think about these things before you select a dance studio because once you start somewhere, you'll probably be stuck there for your child's entire dance career. read more

We've had nothing but positive experiences at Dancer's Workshop. The teachers have all been kind and qualified, and so enthusiastic with my girls.
