After over 10 years of patronizing this dance studio, this year the studio has stopped caring about their students" safety and learning. One of my children who has loved dance has been stuffed into classes of 20-30 dancers. While we have always liked the teachers, this year she has received no feedback or attention, and been kicked or knocked over due to the crowding multiple times. The owner used to respond to concerns, but this year I have tried to address this 3+ times with no resolution. After noticing the owners daughter was in glasses with 5-7 dancers, I see why she isn't concerned. read more

My daughter's have attended dance classes here for the past 9 years. We have been consistently impressed with the quality of instruction and level of care that we feel from the staff. They have gained strong skills, balance, body control, beautiful technique, and made amazing friends. We have loved watching them grow in confidence and move beyond the choreography into artistry. All in an environment that is well aware that they are kids, and should have costuming, music choice, and choreography that is appropriate to their age. We highly recommend ARDM! read more

This dance studio was my first job at 16 and I spent several amazing years working here. A comfortable, safe, and caring work environment where even at a young age my opinion was valued. Love this place! Great opportunities for my artistic kids and always positive atmosphere!

Our girls really like the small class/studio size and us parents like that the managers know us and our kids when we call in. The teachers are great and Ms. Stacey, top choreographer, is a treasure. Our family has spent 5 years with ARDM. read more

I am so disappointed with the Theater Class here. I feel very misled about what this class was. The beginning classes are little more than babysitting. My daughter learned very little. In the final performance, a group of about 30 girls sang two songs with a little movement before the show started. That was it! No lines, no acting, and rather poor execution. After 9 months of classes, I expected more which I guess I shouldn't have with a 17 kids to 1 instructor ratio. They weren't part of the show and weren't even listed in the program. They never even got to see the actual show as they were stuffed in a room in the back during the show. We also payed more than $140 for costumes and production fees and then we didn't even get to keep the costumes. Apparently it's a costume usage fee - for an orphan peasant dress?? We didn't find out about the kids not being in the actual show until late March after really pressing our kid about what they were learning (or not learning). I should have pulled her out but felt we should finish what we started. The staff never shared this info with the parents and even tried to avoid my questions when I pressed them. Don't go here for theater!! It was a terrible experience. In speaking with parents of children who did actually perform in the show, they were also disappointed and won't be returning. Look elsewhere! Michelle - I did share my concerns over the phone and in person! I didn't feel like you all cared or listened at that point and I guess I was right. And there may have only been 13 girls in the final performance but the class definitely started with 17. I counted and discussed with other parents. I'm guessing the other 4 dropped out earlier due to their disappointment. read more

My daughter loves her dance classes. This is a supportive and fun environment. Definitely recommend it for your little dancers.

We love Avery Ranch Dance! This studio and these teachers have been a part of our lives now for about ten years. My daughter started in story time combo classes when she was just 2, and now at age 12, she is taking advanced classes in all styles and is part of both the traditional Company team and the Elite Hip Hop team. She loves it and has so much fun! It's her second home and her teammates and her teachers are like family to her! She has grown so much as a dancer and continues to push herself with the guidance of the amazing teachers at the studio who are so supportive, encouraging, and talented! They absolutely pour into her and have instilled in her a love and passion for dance that continues to grow every year! We are so very grateful to be part of the Avery Ranch Dance community! read more

Amazing studio! Great teachers, my daughter loves her teachers and can't wait to go to class every week!

Our daughter Natalia has been coming to this dance studio for over 3 years and we love it! All teachers are nice and we actually had Ms Stacey teach her when she was at Preschool and now she's a 5th grader and still has Ms Stacey teaching her, she's amazing!! Also we really liked how the studio took care of our kiddos over Covid time. Having the virtual lessons during Covid helped our daughter remain in dance, thank you for all you do! read more

Our twins have been coming for over three years and we have absolutely loved the program! Ms Jillian is an amazing teacher and my children love her. We have been doing the preschool combo for three years and this year we added hip hop. The recitals are so fun and so great for children to experience. The children perform on a stage at the Scottish Rite theater. What a great way to boost children's confidence. The first year my son cried and didn't want to go up by himself for the dress rehearsal. The owner, Michelle was so great and had me go backstage with him. She even told me I could go onstage with him so he would perform. Luckily for me, he did it on his own, and I was able to go watch in the theater. The second year, both kids performed great! I can't wait to see their two performances this year. read more

Love this dance studio. My 8 years old daughter just love this place. The teacher and staff are very supportive. Highly recommend!

They r doing great even at lockdown -doing zoom dance sessions keeping our little ones occupied.

They require a 30 day notice to cancel classes and only tell you about this when you need to cancel. Then they charged us for an extra month of which our kids couldn't even take the classes we paid for as they were closed for holidays and random recitals. Pretty disappointing business practices. read more

The dance lessons are good but the recitals are a joke. The kids dance better in class than during the recitals where they keep looking at the teacher who stands between the curtains. Requested if we could opt out of recitals but the outfit fees and recital fees are collected way ahead and are part of the contract. After 3 years we would still enroll for the dance lessons but unsure about the build up and disappointment due to recitals. read more

My 2 year old daughter took an evening dance class here. Can't tell if she really enjoys it or not. I'll try again when she's older. Glad this place is close by. Very clean. read more

Fantastic musical theater program! My daughter is about to start her third season of musical theater at Dance Discovery. The staff are talented, professional, nurturing and fun. The kids put on an amazing show at the end of the season that is impressive and thoroughly enjoyable. It is wonderful to see how much they grow and learn from year to year; the kids are all so talented . The teachers work hard to make them comfortable on the stage. My one suggestion is that I think the younger kids 6-8 could have had a bigger role in the end of season play ; I think they surpassed everyone's expectations in their performance. Thank you for having such a wonderful program! read more

My daughter started here at the age of 4 and has progressed so much. She has earned scholarships to attend Dance conventions and will be majoring in dance at a fine arts school at the age of 10. None of this would have been possible without the instruction and encouragement of Avery Ranch Dance. Thank you for all you do!!! read more

my kids took lessons for 2 years here. After weekly classes for a year, their recitals are worse than impromptu dances by a bunch of kids. They dont have any co-ordination or synchronization. When the kids are younger, its cute to watch..but i hoped it would get better as they age but looks like their teaching is not even good enough to have a decent 3-4 min dance performance. It looks chaotic and the moves are the same every year. Online classes are even worse. They play games, scavenger hunt etc for half the time..??? read more

My two toddler girls joined Avery Ranch dance early this year and we all love it! I have nothing but good things to say about quality of classes, amazing instructors and studio manager. Laura always listen and accommodate your needs or concern, which is impressive since there are many kids attending this studio. read more

My 14-year-old daughter has been taking lessons here for more than three years now. The instruction is superb, and the staff is very friendly and accommodating. They work really hard to meet her dance -- and schedule -- requirements. We truly feel like this is our dance "family". read more

With the large variety of classes offered it's no wonder the actual instruction is mediocre. You may sign up for one thing but end up with an instructor with little experience in that area. There's only three classrooms so there's not a lot of room for parents who want to stay and watch the class. Also very disappointing to pay money for "snippy" attitudes if you're not one of the favorites. read more

My daughter has been dancing with Dance Discovery since she was four (at the central location before Avery Ranch opened) and is thrilled to begin her pre-point training this year at Avery Ranch. The school has grown with my dancer, truly! When she was young, I thought the story time curriculum was fabulous and perfectly age appropriate. Now, she is challenged as a dancer every class, from contemporary to jazz to tap to ballet. The director is very easy to talk to and responsive to issues (the waiting room has been redesigned to allow more observation room). Even the recitals are age-appropriate, with younger students having a short, less-than-an-hour performance and older students a full production, with costumes and choreography that aren't too risque for young girls. read more

They have wonderful teachers who foster the joy of dance and self-expression within each child.

My 9 year old daughter has been dancing with this studio since she was 3 ... first with Dance Discovery at the day care she was attending, and then when I thought she had out grown that, the owner opened up this studio at Avery Ranch. The location is excellent if you live near Avery Ranch/Parmer and there are a variety of classes from Musical Theater to Ballet to Modern, Jazz, Tap, and Hip Hop. The dance curriculum is age appropriate ... when she was little, it was all about dancing to tell a story (and it was usually a princess story), which kept her and her classmates engaged. As she has gotten older, her classes are challenging her without being super competitive. The girls in her classes are very supportive of each other. We have loved all of the teachers she has had over the years. The owner and the studio manager are friendly and helpful and truly are trying to make everyone happy. Not everything is perfect, but I have seen several changes over the years that I know are in response to feedback received from parents, so the owner listens and incorporates changes for the better. My daughter will be dancing here for years to come! read more

I'm so torn what to say about this place. The dance teachers themselves are really sweet, but I don't feel like my girls really learned much dance technique. From the many different answers I got on asking about the performance team for the girls, it seems like the kids are preselected and there is no open tryout or even information put out. I asked a few different people and got several different answers. I got the feeling it was a secret that didn't want out. This place is highly disorganized. The recitals were more difficult than our previous ones to navigate, and many people made complaints about not knowing what was going on during the rehearsals. It's also incredibly crowded in the waiting room. You're allowed to leave, but if the classes overlap like my girls' did that really isn't an option and it feels like a sardine can in there. I wouldn't say it's terrible, but it's nothing special that's for sure. I'm not sure if we will return for the Fall 2015-2016 year. read more

We love the Avery Ranch girls! Been a student for almost two seasons and love every minute of it. My daughter attends multiple different styles of dance here and loves all of her teachers. They do a good job keeping her involved and challenged. The manager works very hard at knowing each child and parent. She really wants to please, treating everyone equally and with respect even if she doesn't receive it in return. We will be here as long as my daughter wants to dance! A++ read more

My 4-year-old daughter just went to a summer camp there. It was awesome. It was a nice mix between dance ("story time" ballet -which means they tell a story to introduce and repeat the ballet skills- and jazz), yoga and craft (as they made/decorate their costumes for the end of camp performance). They also had snack breaks outdoors. My daughter didn't tell me many details, but I could see she really enjoyed it! read more
