The studio is very well run and the instructors are very professional, qualified, and excellent at what they do. The focus is on nurturing the love for dance while learning correct dance skills and technique. My oldest daughter is also a competitive gymnast and Ms. Sherrie has been extremely flexible and supportive throughout the years. She has offered private lessons and make-ups for my daughter whenever she has had to miss rehearsals or important classes due to her gym meets. Ms. Sherrie has even gone to one of my daughter's meets to cheer her on! My second daughter has cerebral palsy and all of her teachers have been kind, compassionate and generous with her. They have encouraged her and focused on what she can do and not what she can't do. They have made her feel loved and important and every year she asks me to take dance again. Needless to say, our family loves Synergy and all of the staff. Two enthusiastic thumbs up for sure!

Theoretically, one should be at least 55+ to enroll, but exceptions can be made! The instructor, Maureen Slabaugh, is certified by the Royal Academy of Dance to teach under their Silver Swans model and does an outstanding job of making the class work for both absolute beginners as well as dancers with some level of experience. Currently classes are offered two days a week. I enrolled two years ago and really wonder why I didn't find out about Silver Swans years ago!! I hadn't taken a ballet class in at least 25 years and I simply love it! Highly recommend.

I really wanted to have a good experience here, but unfortunately my first visit left me feeling…read moreincredibly unwelcome. When I arrived, I went to the front desk, made a purchase, and signed up for the next two classes. I specifically explained that I was brand new. At no point was I told that one of the classes I had just signed up for was an advanced class that a beginner would clearly not be prepared for. That alone would have been frustrating, but mistakes happen. What bothered me much more was the complete lack of effort from the coach. As a brand-new face walking into an advanced class, I would have expected the coach to at least introduce himself, ask about my experience level, or give me some idea of what was going on. None of that happened. Not before class, not during class, and not afterward. Instead, I spent the better part of an hour stumbling around trying to figure things out on my own before eventually sitting down. And I didn't sit down because I simply gave up. There was a woman trying to record what I assume was content for social media, and I didn't want my confusion in the background ruining her video. The whole experience left me feeling like I simply wasn't supposed to be there. Ironically, the one person who actually made me feel welcome was Sarah, who I'm not even sure works there. She approached me on her own, introduced herself, told me about the place, and helped me figure out where I needed to be. If it hadn't been for her kindness, I probably would have left without staying for the second class. Unfortunately, the same coach taught that class as well. Once again, there was no introduction or attempt to speak to me before, during, or after class. I don't expect special treatment because I'm new. I do expect basic customer service, especially after I've explicitly told the staff that it's my first time. A simple "Hey, I'm ___, have you done this before?" would have changed the entire experience. I came in interested enough to make a purchase with the intention of becoming a regular and signed up for two classes. I left feeling invisible. Based on that first experience, I don't expect I'll be returning.

Vlada is so knowledgeable about the human anatomy and the reformer. She makes modifications for injuries and is always patient and understanding when you can't quite get a move or your form is off. She NEVER makes you feel like a bother, in fact, when you apologise for making a mistake she says "I'm here to help you, you don't need to apologise." Also, I'm familiar with the adage "not everything has to be about race" but as a black woman (oftentimes the only black person) in predominantly white spaces, I'm usually feel othered or ignored but not here, ever. That is the main reason I will forever sing the highest for Vlada. I felt like I was seen as a human being first and foremost and my colour didn't affect how she saw me or treated me. I've gotten stronger and I've been able to apply the techniques I've learned in Pilates to my other workouts. It has sculpted my body and improved my form. Pilates is the best activity I've ever done and I can't wait to further learn and improve. I also look forward to seeing Michael at the front desk, we always have a laugh Thank you Ballet Austin!

Veronica ended up being one of the best pole instructors I've ever experienced. She was so fast to connect to me and my goals and understood instantly my ability and previous experience on the pole and in dance. She then was able to teach the techniques she laid out for me in a way she knew I needed to learn them, and installed the exact concepts and methods she knew I needed for were I wanted to go. Unlike many other experiences with classes and studios, this experience left me feeling like I just walked out with a super charged download of pole skills versus the usual feeling of wasted time and little progress I've felt with other trainings. The studio itself is set up so perfectly too. The whole design and layout of the dance room is really interesting bc it's so warm inviting and elegant yet intimate and professional at the same time. Every little detail of the whole studio is done to perfection. It's hard to say something new about a studio that literally has so many five star reviews to its name, but honestly I would just say that for anyone who wants the hands down best pole dance training of their life needs to set this studio and the incredible Veronica as a priority number one to come and experience for yourself.

We didn't know anyone in town when we started taking here, and I feel so blessed that we stumbled into such a friendly place. 2. I love that the owner, Leigh, actually teaches classes. And she's phenomenal. Which I guess isn't surprising since she's been teaching dance since she was 16! Because she is a huge ball of energy and super fun, the girls love her, but she also is no push over. She keeps everyone in line. They learn a ton, even in the creative movement classes. She's found the balance we all strive for as parents and want from our kids' teachers. 3. At the end of the year they do a performance on the big stage at Westlake HIgh School. He breaks things down so you understand what he is asking of your body, and he is a strong lead, which helps guide your body in each movement. Dillon truly believes that every person can learn to dance, and he is there to find a way to teach you so that you can learn it well enough to take it out to a social dance floor.
