Erik has a splendid teaching style that really put me at ease and felt very natural to understand. Of course, he started the lesson asking what I was looking to get out of it, and he truly delivered! It was the perfect combination of technique that I needed and some really fun partner dancing where we focused on how to follow a lead. I would definitely recommend a private lesson to anyone playing with the idea. I look forward to all that Impulso dance studio has to offer!

When my friend and I raised a safety concern to Danzversity, Danzversity was unwilling to take…read moreaction. When we expressed concern about their response, their staff retaliated by filing false police reports against us, emailing our workplace threatening to press charges, showing up to our workplace, and talking about us in community group chats. The following events occurred between Nov 2022 and July 2023. I'm writing a refreshed review because Danzversity is trying to report my original one. At an event hosted at Danzversity, I encountered an individual who had engaged in repeated inappropriate sexual behavior toward my friend while they were dating. My friend was not present with me at this event, but she was a member of the studio community. Based on what she had shared with me, I was uncomfortable seeing this individual and concerned for her safety. I raised the issue with the event organizer (Mark Reyna) and studio owner (Jaymie Howard) and asked whether the individual could be prohibited from attending future events. I was told they were concerned about potential retaliation and liability and did not want to take immediate action, but that the situation would be addressed going forward. About two weeks later, Jaymie sent me a vague message that there were things the studio could and could not do for confidential legal reasons. When we asked for clarification, Mark told me they were not willing to act on the information we had provided, and that a police report or restraining order would be needed before the concern would be taken seriously. My friend didn't want to pursue legal action, and I found it appalling that they would require it to take us seriously. Danzversity seemed completely inconsiderate of survivors who can't or won't go through a legal system stacked against them, and of their own stated mission of diversity and inclusion. We told them we would no longer attend, and we talked about our experience with friends and members of the dance community. Then Danzversity retaliated against my friend and me in absolutely nonsensical proportions. * Mark sent us messages through multiple channels threatening legal action for "defamation" and "harassment." * Mark filed a false police report against us for "harassment." APD closed the case, stating that elements of harassment had not been met. * Mark's friend Marques emailed our workplace -- a different dance studio where we were teaching -- presenting the police report as if it were still open, threatening legal action, and alleging that we had defamed and harassed Mark, Jaymie, and Danzversity. * Marques then showed up at our workplace, was asked to leave, and afterward spread the same accusations and legal threats in a community group chat with dozens of people. My friend and I spent a good part of those eight months in severe distress and fear. We feared for our jobs, our standing in a community we had been part of for years, and where the legal threats and police report might lead. I absolutely do not recommend this studio. This was the most absurd experience of my life, and all I ever did was ask a dance studio to keep its own space safe.

I'm not welcome back because i'm autistic and asked someone to get coffee with me after class. They took that as me 'asking them out on a date' and told the owner that I made them feel 'uncomfortable'. Nobody can talk to anyone like an adult anymore which is SO sad. If this instructor felt so strongly that I'm no longet welcome in group classes, then perhaps this person needs to grow up a little bit? Maybe approach me, and use their big person words. Suspicious as hell that all of your reviews are 5 stars as well. Theyre discriminative. The owner also told me that everyone inside and out of the studio knows 'who i am' I personally took this as a threat not to come back.

Now mind you, this ain't ya' mama's pole and dance studio! It is so much more. If you want to feel the technical *perfection* of being a pole ballerina, this may not be the place (however Pole Virgins and Pole Harlots with Ruby will give you some really good technical tips). However, in my opinion, this space IS the best place to start your pole/sensual dance journey. You can always learn technicality, but here is where you can learn to love how you move... HOWEVER you move. It is where you can unleash what you were taught to hold inside, and where you can free your emotions- all of them within a safe space and a safe community. From freestyle classes, slow and sensual teachings, and member events, this is the place to fall back in love with yourself- and you deserve that. PS, Minx+Muse is still its own entity and is hosting a fully online membership that you can check that out as well (:

Mark created fun yet elegant choreography for our chosen song and explained things simply and clearly. I served as the stand in for my daughter, and Mark taught us the rhumba to go with our chosen song. It felt like we were dancing very quickly! We learned some basic and cool looking moves in the first 2 lessons. My daughter was in town for one of the lesson times and she learned most of the moves from Mark in one lesson (oh to be young again!). Mark is an excellent instructor who was able to convey some of the basics of dance to us in ways we could easily understand. I liked that he had some easy analogies that we could use to understand some fundamental ways to move in dancing. Most importantly, Mark is a nice guy, easy to work with and very patient. He's worked with students of all levels and was unfazed by my worst moments of uncoordinated dance. We enjoyed our lessons so much that we plan to continue with some of the group lessons offered by Rhythmic Motion.

AJ, Hannah and the whole studio team were so supportive and fun to work with a few times a week in the buildup to the big day. Neither my wife and I considered ourselves particularly coordinated or gifted in the ways of rhythm or dance but that was no issue for AJ. She choreographed a dance to our chosen song that played to our strengths and gave us the confidence to go all out and rock it at our wedding. We felt supported and encouraged at every practice and were made to feel like dance rockstars. The results were more than we could have hoped for at the wedding. It was for sure a friendly audience but we brought the house down and blew everyone away. Many guests came up to us raving about the dance, amazed that the two of us had pulled off something as technical and complicated as that in full wedding attire. AJ got us there so we owe a lot of it to her guidance and choreography. Once we fully recover from the craziness of the wedding, we plan to go back to the studio just for fun because we had such a great experience with our wedding first dance. Thanks again AJ and team!
