Now with the studio's name of "Vespertine", this studio is truly a home away from home. It's very well taken care of, the classes and instructors are a JOY to be around, and the parking is easy with two lots being a dirt lot right next to the studio as well as street parking in front of the houses on the street. Now mind you, this ain't ya' mama's pole and dance studio! It is so much more. If you want to feel the technical *perfection* of being a pole ballerina, this may not be the place (however Pole Virgins and Pole Harlots with Ruby will give you some really good technical tips). However, in my opinion, this space IS the best place to start your pole/sensual dance journey. You can always learn technicality, but here is where you can learn to love how you move... HOWEVER you move. It is where you can unleash what you were taught to hold inside, and where you can free your emotions- all of them within a safe space and a safe community. From freestyle classes, slow and sensual teachings, and member events, this is the place to fall back in love with yourself- and you deserve that. PS, Minx+Muse is still its own entity and is hosting a fully online membership that you can check that out as well (: read more

Autistic, physically, or mentally disabled? Don't come here. You're not welcome because you'll be misinterpreted constantly, and be asked to leave. I'm not welcome back because i'm autistic and asked someone to get coffee with me after class. They took that as me 'asking them out on a date' and told the owner that I made them feel 'uncomfortable'. Nobody can talk to anyone like an adult anymore which is SO sad. If this instructor felt so strongly that I'm no longet welcome in group classes, then perhaps this person needs to grow up a little bit? Maybe approach me, and use their big person words. Suspicious as hell that all of your reviews are 5 stars as well. Theyre discriminative. The owner also told me that everyone inside and out of the studio knows 'who i am' I personally took this as a threat not to come back. read more

This was the MOST FUN experience!! We went for a bachelorette party and had a blast. The woman who runs it is a literal star and made us feel so comfortable. It was such a fun way to work out and feel sexy. Would highly recommend to anyone who wants to try something out of their comfort zone in a judgement-free environment. Also such a cool ambiance in the studio! 10/10 read more

Nocturna - Dance Studios Near Me - Austin, Texas

We booked the booty poppin' chair tease party for my sister's bachelorette weekend and it was SO. MUCH. FUN. Crimson had such great energy and was so much fun! She made us all feel comfortable in our own skin and was so patient with all of us! We rehearsed the moves several times til we got it down. We were given fake monaaaay to throw at each other during our performances!!! After that dance sesh with her, we all came out with some sexy dance moves to take home to our boos, lol!! Motivation by Normani will always remind me of this. Thank you again Crimson for the fun class! We had a blast. Highly recommend this for a bachelorette party or if you just wanna try out chair dancing/pole! read more

So damn amazing I wrote about it in my last personal blog, "Goddess of Play" "I completely forgot how much in-person classes were a part of my social community before the pandemic. We crave community as mammals; after all we are "internally wired for connection." And you know that flow state you get from a gratifying task or activity? Studies have shown that to experience our highest level of brain synchrony, or as I like to call it "our highest flow" we must be engaging with others on a common desire. After my experience, I wanted to continue this rush of all my creative juices flowing, which led me to my new favorite movement space called, "Minx + Muse, defined as a fiercely feminine PLAYHOUSE" Now tell me I wasn't suppose to find this space by a higher power and energy alignment isn't real, #goddessofplay. I plan to take as many classes here as my schedule allows. As the shifts I'm experiencing are transformative, they bring so much necessary freedom and release to explore in a safe space." via: www.goddessofplay.com/post/community-and-creativity THANK YOU CRIMISON + MINX+MUSE COMMUNITY, THIS PLACE IS THE BEST AND I'VE LITERALLY BEEN LIVING ALL OVER THE COUNTRY!! MY TOP REASON TO MOVE TO AUSTIN? THIS PLACE!!! read more

One of our many stops for our Bachelorette weekend! This was a fun workout! The girls had so much fun!

We did a private chair dance class for my sisters bachelorette recently (15 women). It was the highlight of the weekend for everyone. We thought maybe it wouldn't be everyone's "thing" but Maria made it so fun and inclusive. Highly recommend! read more

Came to Minx+Muse for a Bach celebration. Gabrielle was a breathe of fresh air and made sure our party went off with off a hitch. They prioritized us having fun and moving our body in the most comfortable way. Gabrielle was super patient and allowed us to freestyle and have a ton of fun. If I'm ever in Austin again, I know exactly where I coming read more

Minx + Muse has become my number one, favorite place to be in Austin. Seriously. This beautiful space is warm and welcoming, and the community that it encompasses is inclusive, encouraging, and inspiring. I started attending classes last year and in that time I've grown physically stronger and gained a lot of confidence about my body. When I walk into Minx + Muse I'm immediately flush with calm and gratitude. Much of that can be directly attributed to Crimson, the person responsible for creating M+M. Her energy and enthusiasm is infectious. Sincerely, attending classes at Minx + Muse was one of the best decisions I've made in a long time. The last year has been personally challenging, but I am 100% sure that I got through it with good friends, therapy and the love and support of my Minx + Muse community. read more

This was such a fun experience! Instructors are very nice and welcoming. Lights are dimmed to make it a safe space to get comfortable with your body and moves. read more

The class was great! We had a blast! Ashley was our instructor super personable and over all a GOOD Time!!!!! My only complaint is we were basically put out by Gloria bc another party was waiting so we had to stand outside and wait for Uber instead of waiting in the lobby of the establishment we paid to take a class with. Having to wait outside for our Uber was not communicated nor was it listed on the websites covid protocol. it felt very weird and uncalled for. Oh and HOT. read more

I was looking online at retreats that would encourage owning my own eroticism and sensuality. Then, I found Minx + Muse. This place is a house of community, body positivity, sex positivity, spirituality, healing, laughter, and sexy booty shaking. It is so much more than I ever thought I could ask for from a dance studio. Crimson, the owner, is warm and funny and makes everyone right at home. She is the real deal. read more

SO fun! We went for a girl's afternoon and Crimson made us feel so comfortable to let loose and explore the art of pole dancing. We had a blast and it was a great time. You can bring your own drinks and don't forget to bring your playlist suggestions! read more

A phenomenal studio with unique offerings. Each class i have taken has been beautifully crafted with a unique offering! I've loved being encouraged to honor my expression and the supportive environment. I feel deep appreciation for this special place! If you're looking for a space to feel sexy, welcomed and inspired- this is it! (Also super great workout! My body feels awesome after these fun classes) Great staff, a unique find and totally worth the investment! Thank you thank you! read more

The owner, Crimson Minx's, energy radiates through this magical and grounding space. She is the matriarch of this gem, and her influence trickles through all the powerful, feminine teachers who share their various, mastered crafts. When you approach the door, there is a sign that asks you to kindly leave egos and judgements at the door, and it sets the tone for every sexy pole, sensual dance class, and community gathering. I am so grateful that I found this place and this human's welcoming energy. It has become like church for me. To those whom this interests: I fully believe this is a queer and trans-inclusive space. Cis-men are welcome as well, but the space is wholly feminine with staunch feminine values, so I recommend coming if you value feminine traits enough to be immersed in them. read more

This place is so special. The dance classes are accessible for all levels and fun, even if (like me) muscle memory and choreography comes to you very slowly lol. I love the variety of classes they offer. The coven/church classes are therapeutic, enlightening and a great way to build community. Whether your flavor of dance leans more towards spiritual movement or enhancing your stripper hustle, you can express it here. Also, the playlists are on point (very important)! I love that dressing up is encouraged! You can be extra if you want - some places can feel like if you're not wearing plain gym clothes, a messy bun and no makeup then people are judging you for not ~taking your workout seriously~ but you don't have to worry about that here. Adorning and appreciating your body is part of the experience. Crimson is so deliberate with building a sacred space. From the stunning aesthetics of the studio, (even the bathroom is amazing and cozy) to her welcoming, loving energy that you can't help but be attracted to, Crimson has found her calling. I am shy and have trouble making friends in this kind of environment sometimes but I know every time I show up for class Crimson will greet me like an old friend and make me feel at ease, even if I don't talk to anyone else. :) read more

I can not say enough great things about this place! You just walk in and automatically feel relaxed yet empowered, all while being welcomed in by some beautiful goddesses. I love that the teachers get to be their genuine selves and teach lots of different types of classes. Crimson, the owner, is wonderful beyond words. You get the sense that she (1) puts her heart and soul into the studio down to the last detail, (2) genuinely loves and respects the ladies that come to the studio, and (3) is a badass feminist. I highly recommend that you check it out. Some of the jargon and class names might be intimidating to someone new but the moment you step in, you'll realize the studio is the exact opposite of intimiadting. Come and be free! read more

Without a doubt my favorite place in Austin. The studio is warm and inviting and witchy! The instructors have different dance and choreography styles and strengths so every class I learn something new or a new way to execute a dance move. If you've wanted to swing on a pole, bounce your ass, raise your body awareness, explore your sensuality and work up a sweat with other dope ass women, then you are in the right space. Fellow POC fear not! The space is hella inclusive and while you might be the only POC in the room during some classes I, as a black femme, have never felt unwelcome and have always felt included and valued which is not always the case in Austin. The owner Crimson, who is super sweet, has cultivated a safe space for femmes and peeps looking to explore their femininity and it is much appreciated and so very needed. read more

I can't think of a more unique experience in Austin. This woman-owned studio is warm, welcoming and the most freeing environment I've ever been in. It's full of feminine energy, kind souls and (mostly) ladies that have become my closest friends. The classes are mind, body and soul ... you'll sweat a little, laugh a lot, and get more comfortable in your own skin. The teachers and owner are glorious women, and I feel like M+M cracked open something in my soul that continues to grow with feminine energy and power. I walk out the door feeling like a goddess. Love this place! read more

There is no other studio quite like this one in Austin. I attended the grand opening party this past Friday (9/29). The studio is beautiful and the owner and teachers are all really friendly. I loved how they offered 20-30 minute sample classes at the party so that I could try them out before buying classes. I took classes with Dez and Jessica - they were both fantastic teachers and the classes were a lot of fun. I am brand new to esoerotic dance and sensual movement classes, but they made me feel comfortable, and the other ladies in the classes were really supportive, too. Crimson and Keely also taught classes at the grand opening event, but unfortunately I was too busy chatting to participate. I'm intrigued by the Nasty Woman class! This place would be perfect for a bachelorette party, too. I'm glad this studio is here in the neighborhood - I think it is just what we needed. read more

We had so much fun at Minx + Muse! We booked the Lioness Pole Dance party for 10 girls to kick-off my friend's bachelorette weekend. I can't say enough about the wonderful experience we had, from the first phone call to the very end of the party and even beyond. The booking process was easy and flexible even though our number of girls kept changing. Crimson worked with our musical preferences to put together a customized class. We had gotten caught in a rainstorm on the way over and we're stressed out when we came in the door. Crimson was friendly and funny and quickly got us all loosened up and ready to get wild. During the class, we learned a bunch of beginning pole dance moves and stitched them all together into a sexy group routine. It was so much fun but also accessible. None of the moves were too difficult for our girls to do (though I definitely used some muscles Im not used to using). Crimson also did a great job of engaging everyone, even the more reserved girls (myself included). By the end of it, we also had some time to take some extra pictures and videos on the poles. I also highly recommend the 'Make it Rain' add on if you enjoy stripper names and money guns (and who doesn't). Everyone had so much fun that the rest of the weekend, girls get busting out moves they'd learned during class and bring back the stripper names. Thanks so much for a wonderful time! read more

Came here for the freakgasm class this past Saturday for a bachelorette w. It was so much fun!!! Everyone was awesome and so welcoming. Loud hip hop music, booty popping, and choreography made for an all time fun class. All of the girls had a blast. I would recommits for something wildly different and fun. Makes you feel like such a bad ass when you leave. read more

WOW. WOW. WOW. Crimson radiates warmth, is electric, so incredibly kind and makes you feel comfortable from the first phone call! My group and I were traveling from Los Angeles for a Bachelorette party and dancing at Minx + Muse was a highlight of the trip! Crimson broke down all the movements, made us feel sexy in our own skin, and really celebrated each individual woman. We laughed, we danced, and we felt incredibly empowered. I truly cannot say enough positive things about this experience! I would highly recommend the MONEY GUNS which is an addition to any of the Bachelorette Party packages, it amplifies the experience and is soooo fun! I would absolutely come again! Thank you Crimson!! read more

UPDATE: I gave M&M five stars a year ago when I started there, and a year later I can absolutely say that five stars is not enough stars. The classes are empowering and inclusive. I don't feel out of place despite being an older overweight non-bendy person - the other day I came to class in booty shorts and a crop top, an outfit I would have been too embarrassed to wear a year ago when I started, and even with my gut hanging out and my cellulite on my thighs, when I saw myself practicing in the mirror I felt sexy as hell. The instructors are all unique and each bring something different to their classes. And the owner, Crimson, is just an amazing person who works hard to create a real community among the students as well as top notch classes (both dance and non-dance). And the students are cool too - I have met so many awesome people (of all genders). Bottom line, if you read the website and are intrigued, go for it! You'll be glad you did. read more

I cannot speak more highly of this studio. Crimson has such a wonderful gift of creating a safe space to express yourself. She is energetic, warm and vivacious. Came here during a bachelorette party and had such a blast dancing and the music was so on point. I am also obsessed with the decor of this place. I will definitely be back if I am ever in Austin again! read more

Amazing studio owned by, run by, and filled with incredible women! The environment is SO welcoming. I was nervous to start my pole journey but once I was in the door all those worries melted away! Love this studio and it's coven! read more

Love this place ! It is sooo intriguing and neat! Crimson the owner /creator , is a Fierce Woman , and created an amazing studio for pole, exotic dancing ! I come when ever I'm in down ! read more

Had such a blast here! Crimson is the best! The way she teaches is so simple to get and so fun to do. She inspired me to take more classes but sadly I live in la and this studio is in Austin. Your group will have such a blast here I definitely recommend it to anyone! read more

Kitty was INCREDIBLE! She made everyone feel extremely comfortable and confident. If I lived in Austin I'd go all the time!

Called for a last minute group for a bachelorette party - Crimson was able to accommodate us! The studio has a really nice vibe and Crimson is so friendly and did a great job leading our group. She made it fun and 'doable'. She taught us a pole routine and did a quick lap dance tutorial as well. I would strongly recommend any group to schedule a party at Minx & Muse for a fun activity! read more

My friends and I took Crimson's pole dancing class yesterday for a Bachelorette party, and it was amazing!! Crimson, the owner, makes you feel so comfortable and makes everything so much fun! The studio is SO cute! Easily the most fun experience ever. I can't recommend enough!! read more

Minx + Muse is an absolutely beautiful studio. Crimson, the owner, created an environment that promotes female empowerment, sultry movement, and becoming more confident with your body. The instructors are encouraging, fun and experienced. I've done the intro to pole classes "Pole Virgins" and the yoga class "Playlist Yoga". I highly recommend! read more

Awesome class and instructor! Great atmosphere. Warm and welcoming. Will definitely be back.

I'm so happy that this studio exists! I always walk out feeling rejuvenated and ready to take on the rest of the day/ week/ whatever life throws at me. In addition to the physical challenge of the dance classes, you really take time to tap into how you are feeling emotionally and physically and explore how to express that through movement. It's like nothing I've found in a dance class before. Everyone is really kind and positive and empowering. I've never felt judged or awkward even though I'm new to everything, and I brought a friend who expressed the same sentiment. If you are looking for a workout that doesn't feel like a chore, or just some time for YOU, you need to try out a class here. read more

This is without a doubt my favorite place to spend time in Austin. The instructors are all knowledgable, professional, and bewitching. My favorite part about the classes at Minx + Muse is that each instructor collaborates with students to ensure everyone is moving in a way that is best for themselves and their body. They offer options and modifications to bring the goddess out of any dancer, beginner or advanced. This is an inclusive and safe space to explore yourself and bond with other wonderful humans. read more

I love minx + muse! Everyone from the members to the staff are amazing people. I basically spend 2-3 times a week here. I take a pole series from Stephanie which is AMAZING. She is such a great and loving teacher. I take Pole Virgin classes with Crimson which are ALWAYS good. I also take Softcore Stretch with Dez which has me doing sexy back bends (havent done in 10+ years.) Since starting at Minx + Muse I can feel myself be stronger and definitely more flexible. I am addicted read more

I recommend Minx + Muse for anyone who wants to get in touch with their fiercely feminine and wildly sensual side. All of the teachers and classes here are unique, fun and great for all levels of dancers. From book clubs to pole classes, to free style and tarot classes... there is something for everyone within the magical walls of this studio. Freakgasm, Esoerotic Polecraft, and softcore stretch are the 3 of my favorite class offerings here. read more

UPDATE: Crimson reached out to me and let me know how she felt about everything. She was very professional and open and I liked that she took the time to reach out to me. It made me feel like she took me seriously and valued me as a person. After seeing how the owner handled things I'll definitely go back to Spellbound Striptease and try out one of their Goddess Hours ( I think it may be called something else but it's where you go in and socialize with other women for an hour ). I hope that this was all some weird misunderstanding because I feel a lot better now about the whole thing and it *is* cool to have a witchy little spot in Austin. Just sayin'. I want to start off by saying that I did enjoy the spellbound striptease with Zoya. She is super fun and very respectful, which is why I am giving them three stars instead of teo I was very excited to take classes at Minx and Muse because their Instagram page is pretty neat. One thing I think I should make clear is that they are not exactly a pole dancing studio. They do chair dancing (Zoya was AMAZING in spellbound striptease) and stretching classes and then Wicca/Spiritual hours. My real issue was with Jessica, the pole virgins instructor. My friend and I both felt a little ostracized in addition to us realizing that Jessica seems to have a bias against *actual* exotic dancers. My friend said that she seemed bothered by us and she got the same impression about her and exotic dancers. Which is ironic because the girl is teaching a POLE DANCING class, in the middle of Austin for god's sake. I'll use us the last of my 3 for $33 but then I think I'll be trying out Brass Ovaries. Really disappointing to leave class feeling this way when they spout off about inclusivity and female empowerment. read more

I went to a bachelorette party at Minx + Muse last weekend and it was amazing! We did the chair dance party where we learned a routine then did some lap dance at the end. It was so fun! Honestly, we spent most of the time just laughing, but we did learn a cool routine, and the instructor was great at understanding our levels and making the event special for the bride-to-be! And the studio was beautiful and clean. I am looking forward to dropping into a class next time I am in Austin! read more

I loved the one pole virgin class I went to. In an hour i felt like I learned a ton, and was sore the next day. Such a great work. My only dislike is the variety of the class times. They dont seem to have anything during the week except early evening, and a couple early times Saturday morning. Its impossible for me to make any classes because I'm a single mom with lack of childcare. I paid for 3 classes in a package, missed a class cause didnt have a babysitter for that time, prob wont be able to make the 3rd before 30 days is up either and classes are nonrefunable. But besides that, this place seems pretty awesome. read more
