My family had a horrible experience with BKDance Lessons. My husband and I gave our son a $399 gift…read morecard for his birthday which he could not redeem because of inexcusable customer service and absurd policies where this merchant is only look out for themselves and not their clients. My son's lesson was scheduled on a night he had a flight delay. He politely text the studio (the only way they will communicate) asking if they could push his time slot up because of his delay to which they responded no ~ he could either use whatever time was left of his 2 hour lesson that night (2 hours cost $399 which is absurd in itself) or he could take an open spot on the following day because there happened to be a cancellation. Because of prior commitments, my son could not take this spot but they offered no other option to rescheduling his lesson. When he expressed that he and his partner were really looking forward to the lesson and that no other option seemed unfair, BK Dance told him he was not allowed to come to the studio to redeem what would have been left of his 2 hour lesson because they felt threatened. My son is the most polite person in the world and his disappointment was certainly not a threat! My husband and I lost $399 down the drain because of their inability to understand the flight circumstance which was completely out of my son's control. Zero empathy was practiced and this place is a scam. When I looked more closely after hearing this extremely upsetting story, I came to see that BK Dance is not a real studio, it's just someone's apartment in Brooklyn that they push the furniture around in to make a buck and pretend to give a dance lesson. They are all actors. Go on Instagram, to see for yourself; have a good laugh and be happy I saved you the trouble of booking. Anyone looking to schedule a quality dance experience will be wasting their money and taken for a ride at BK Dance.

It's an answer to my workout with dance prayers. Which went like this... Lawd please... 1. Find me a workout dance spot 2. That's all women patrons that are nice 3. With amazing instructors, who encourage you. WON'T HE DO IT!!!! I've been to two classes (Clash after dark & Zumba) so far and I'm completely in love with this place. The space is pretty big and looks like it can accommodate a good size class. Standard mirror and ballet barres. For newbies, let me start by saying that salsa/bachata and ballroom dancing cannot be learned…read moreovernight and it takes time, dedication and practice. That being said... Great place to learn, especially if you're a slow learner. Friendly staff, lessons are very clear at a great enough pace even for people with 2 left feet to learn. Studio is small enough (in classroom size) for instructors to go over moves as many times until you get it right but big enough for you to meet friendly people and practice dancing. I also do like that they have an intro in the beginning where you can practice everything you already know with a partner so you can fix your mistakes in the lesson. Private Lessons are a bit expensive in my opinion but instructors make it well worth it if you're behind and need to clean up on dance moves that you have trouble with. Overall very great place to learn how to dance and meet new people. Francis and Noelia are very intelligent and helpful people and will help you through the process of fundamentals and learning how to dance.

Our mismatched dance backgrounds (I had no experience, while my wife had some) did not phase Gail. Working with our original song choice and subsequent edits, she tied together sequences week after week that were challenging yet achievable, and even culminated in a lift that became one of our favorite photos from our wedding. We would encourage anyone looking for a dance teacher to please at least consider Gail. However, like many, we discussed on several occasions over the years how we would like to get back to those fun years when we were dancing a couple of times every week. Well, we finally decided to stop just talking about it and to do it. Fortunately, we found Atlantic Dance Studio. After just a few short weeks into it, we were already doing the basics steps of the Rumba, Fox Trot, Waltz, Tango, and Push/Pull, and having fun dancing once again after a 40-year break. They have a very natural progressive way of teaching, and surprisingly in the following weeks we started getting into more complex moves. The group classes are also a lot of fun and the interaction with other students and instructors is a great approach to help the learning process. Atlantic ballroom offers a fun, friendly atmosphere, and a beautiful and comfortable large dance studio... private lessons are great with Ody, who is a very patient, fun, professional, and talented instructor... group classes are fun and informative... and Friday night social dance is a wonderful opportunity to practice what was learned during the week... and when you see instructor team perform dance routines, they are just incredibly talented. The owner, Sarika, is very friendly and cordial, keeps a close eye on the studio and the progress of students, and is an incredible national level pro dance performer. If you have been just thinking about taking dance lessons like my wife and I were for a couple of years, stop just daydreaming and give Atlantic Dance Studio a try. I'm sure you will find the studio, instructors, atmosphere, and best of all the experience, as enjoyable as my wife and I have found.

For years I've enjoyed watching people rush to the dance floor as the sounds of salsa, bachata, and…read moremerengue filled the room. I have taken a few pay as you go classes and free lessons at clubs, but no matter how much I watched, or lessons taken, I never had the courage to get beyond the basic and side step of salsa - and even that was a challenge. However, this all changed a few months back as my wife and I decided to take salsa lessons at Dance Fever Studio. Before knowing anything about the studio, we visited the Saturday social event, held twice each month. A free one hour class is given at the start of each event - which could comprise of two Latin techniques taught in separate studios. On this visit beginners salsa was held in the larger studio. Noelia, one of two senior instructors gave the lesson. She explained and broke down each of the basic techniques clearer than I've ever been taught, to the point that I was able to connect the steps to the musical counts. After the class ended, the social began and my wife and I were welcomed by the instructors, students and visitors. Everyone was encouraged to dance, practice, learn a new technique without pressure. At the end of the night we knew Dance Fever would be the right school for us. For the past six months we've attended salsa classes on Tuesday's, taught by Francis or Noelia. Today, my wife and I are at the point that when the sounds of salsa, bachata, and merengue fills the room, we rush to the dance floor - and if I must say...look pretty good holding our own. The classes are of a good size in that you are able, and encouraged to ask questions. Thank you Francis and Noelia for your patiences, art of instructing, and building confidence. If you are still reading this review, I would think you are seriously considering learning one of the many Latin dances taught at Dance Fever. Just to name a few: salsa, bachata, cha cha, hustle, ballroom etc. You will not be disappointed, because as I said prior, the instructors are passionate about their art and love of Latin dances, and I believe wants each student to feel the same. You will not be disappointed! Fabien & Michelle
