Both Karin & Don were very responsive & professional from our initial call regarding a yellow jacket infestation on our back porch! On Wednesday Dan came exactly on the scheduled hour Karin had set for us & removed the basketball-sized nest that had been there over a 3 year period of time. Dan was exceptionally focused and used an infrared gun to locate the nest. He set clear parameters around cost & labor time through a formal work agreement signed before he started work. The effort lasted 1 1/2 hours which included identifying the nest, entry & repair into the porch ceiling, removal of the nest & follow-up after the nest removal to remove straggling yellow jackets. It refreshing to work with such fair, dedicated, honest & hardworking people. What a relief to have the nest removed!! Thank you Dan & Karin! read more

We discovered a softball-sized bald-faced hornet nest in our groaning-with-fruit-apple tree on the first day of Memorial Day weekend. After one email, we got a call from Dan who said he was in our neighborhood and could be by in five minutes to look. He confirmed who they were and that they can be aggressive in defense of their nest. With a proper suit, a vacuum, and water he emptied the nest, caught the stragglers, and removed the nest from our tree. He is throughly professional, extremely knowledgeable, and it is a comfort for us to know this was done without the use of chemicals. I would recommend him to anyone and will use him again if we experience another problem with wasps or hornets. read more

I was weeding in my garden near my front door with my dog tied up next to me chatting with my friend on speakerphone. Sounds peaceful huh? "Hey! What's that buzzing? Ahhh What's that stinging on my leg?!" Yellow jackets coming out of the ground! Trying not to wave my arms like a little girl at her first dance recital while attempting to unhook my dog (she thinks it's a game which is decidedly not helpful) with my phone still on the grass spouting my friend answering my question "Who started WW1" I did get us in the house. There I am, looking out my front window, watching cranky wasps flying around and listening to my friend outside telling me about Archduke Ferdinand Now what? Yellow Jackets never seemed like a big deal to me until I had a calf the size of Texas. Some sort of allergic reaction. They held my front yard hostage for 3 days. No gardening. Keeping the dog in. Then I called Dan. What a lovely man. He is kind and answered all of my questions. He stayed until he felt confident that, other than a few out foraging, he'd gotten all. He advised that I stay away from the area for a couple of days until the stragglers got confused and left. He didn't use poison but because yellow jackets can't be relocated he used soap that kills quickly and is as humane as possible. He gave me back my yard! Life is back to normal - except my leg, that will take a bit longer. Jeez! How can something so small hurt so much! Thanks Dan! If I ever have tiny livestock move in on me again you're the guy I'll call and I will recommend you gladly! read more

Dan did a great job. very knowledgeable. We had a full scale nest inside the wall of our house. they got in around the hose bib. He removed a piece of siding, did his thing and patched it up. fair price. Nice guy. read more

Dan the Bee Man took care of a big German wasp nest that had moved into my attic, just above the front door. I have an older house and was worried about damage to the soffit & lighting fixtures. Dan was patient, thorough and did an amazing job ridding the house of all wasp activity. Plus, he did a great job building a preventive blockade to keep the wasps from returning. He answered all my questions and identified other (good) bees in the garden for me as well. I'm hoping we don't get invaded by the wasps again but if we did, I'd hire him again in a minute. Highly recommend! read more

While trying to sell my house I found out it had wasps nests after a potential buyers son was stung. I contacted Dan and he responded immediately, even super late at night (after 8pm). I begged him to help me out the next day and he found time on his calendar although he normally books a week in advance. He was super helpful and responsive although I ended up getting it resolved before he could make it out. I highly recommend contacting him if you have buzzing problems on your property! read more

We found Dan on Yelp, and scheduled to have him come check things out, because we had been hearing weird scratching noises and seeing what we thought were bees flying in & out of an area near the roof on a corner of our house. He responded to our email within 12 hours and came out a few days later. We were chilled to find out that what we had was a yellowjacket nest in our attic crawlspace; they had been scraping away at the drywall, and were probably a week or so away from breaking through into the house! Dan swiftly dealt with the problem, using his expertise and specialized equipment to clear out the little jerks, and remove the nest. We couldn't be happier with our experience with Dan, he was prompt, professional, and efficient. read more

When you find wasps in your light fixtures, it's a bit nerve wracking! Dan knew exactly how to handle it and proceeded in a calm and reassuring manner, without poison. We are remodeling, and he gave me tips on fixtures and screening to effectively block these critters in the future. Much appreciated, and I'm now a fan of Dan the Bee Man! read more

Dan the Bee Man is THE BEST!!! Removed a yellow jacket nest on one day notice for me last year (I was having an outdoor party and the nest was right above the food and drink area) and gave me tips for keeping them out of the area. Just had him come out again because something stinging set up a nest between my wooden siding and interior drywall. He took a heat picture from inside and we could see the nest! BUT! Due to time of year/where they are/the fact that they are not chewing our wall (we would be able to hear them), Dan gave us the advice to do nothing. Come autumn, we're to stuff some steel wool in the siding cracks to keep out next year's jerks and that's it! Dan is THE MAN!!! read more

We could not have asked for a better experience with Dan. We had Yellow Jackets under our porch and didn't want to attempt dealing with them ourselves. Dan was able to locate and remove the nest (within an hour) and we're able to use out outdoor space again! He was great during the consultation and was really honest about everything, even letting us know about the seasonal nature of them and that waiting it out was an option to consider. We appreciated his honesty and trustworthiness. read more

We had a very aggressive hive of what appears to be yellow jackets in the dead part of a tree trunk in our front yard, the bees were attacking people for merely walking by. We contacted Dan and was able to book an appointment pretty quickly. Dan was very professional and removed a huge hive, and everything was done under an hour. A few days later there were still lingering bees around the tree trunk, we emailed Dan and he came back and vacuumed up all the remaining bees and even chopped down the tree into pieces for us, no extra charges! I am really glad that I found him on yelp and no wonder he's getting all these 5-star reviews! read more

Dan was amazing. We had a large (size of a basketball) nest and found it this evening when doing gardening and was stung. He came out tonight and removed everything was super careful and caring of our property. Recommend him to anyone looking for a perfectly done job. read more

Dan is flat out the best. He is a no BS business man that gives it to you straight, so straight in fact he basically talked me out of using his service. I had an usual scenario where a yellow jacket hive decided to nest inside the casement surrounding my front porch stairs. It was going to be a real hassle to get them out of there having to pull apart the stair to get to them. Dan only uses physical removal, not chemical warfare and let me know the pros and cons of each approach as well as recommendations as to who to call if we wanted to go that route. Ultimately though, he told me just to wait it out as yellow jackets die off in sept/oct and do not re-inhabit their hives once abandoned. He also gave us great tips on how to avoid stirring them up until then. Truly an amazing person/business and should I ever need bee services in the future he will absolutely be my first call. read more

No problem getting rid of a colony of yellow jackets that were aggressive and about to double in qty. Highly recommend.

I can't recommend Dan the Bee Man highly enough. I accidentally uncovered a bumble bee nest while raking in my backyard and while I didn't want to leave them there, I also didn't want them harmed. I called Dan and he came out and took care of them, just like that. He thought it would take under an hour and even though it ended up being one of the larger nests he'd seen, it still took under an hour. I also appreciated his calm demeanor and his willingness to answer all my questions. The bumbles are now safe and sound on *his* property. Definitely 5 stars! read more

I sent an email to Dan because some wasps had built a nest in my back porch area very close to the entrance to my house. His team responded very promptly and outline the cost and the procedure for removing the nest. Dan showed up in a timely manner on the day of our appointment and was quickly able to determine where the nest was. Because of the nest location he had to put a hole in the drywall inside my house. He then used a vacuum to take care of the hundred wasps that had set up camp in my wall. I am really relieved that he was able to help me out as in a couple weeks they could have chewed through the wall and into my house which would have been a nightmare. Dan does not use any chemicals which is why I called him. This makes for a more labor-intensive procedure for him but in my opinion it's worth it. I would definitely recommend him. He also gave me tips for preventing this from happening again in the future. He also has a Blog online. read more

I called Dan the bee man to remove a bumble bee nest in my bamboo. He was prompt and best of all he removed the bees without harming them. Dan The Bee Man rocks! I had a problem with some yellow jackets in my basement, and called Dan on Friday. He promptly returned my call and gave me expert advice as to why the bees were there, seasonal habits, etc. Bottom line: He said with the colder weather, the problem would take care of itself, so it wasn't necessary for him to come out and charge me. All this expert advice for FREE! Its so heartening and refreshing to find a professional like Dan who is in business to help others, not just to rip others off. If I ever have a more serious bee problem, guess who I'm calling?? Thanks Dan! read more

I didn't actually use Dan after talking to him, but wanted to give him a positive review because he was so helpful. He was prompt to respond (multiple times), came out to check out the situation, and given my unique circumstances felt that it would be best to try a method that he chooses not to employ. He was knowledgable and helpful in explaining the situation, and I learned a lot about yellow jackets and how to prevent nests in the future. It is rare that a service person put this much time and effort into a job, and then recommend that the customer use a an alternative. As someone who has worked in client service for fifteen years as a senior executive, this kind of service is rare. I recommend Dan because based on my experience he will do what is BEST for you. read more

I called Dan The Bee Man in a panic. I discovered a huge hornets nest right in the middle of a fence project. My work was on hold & these hornets were so large. He came out that day, sprayed it with soap, & took it away. The really cool part is that he took the larvae with him to feed his chickens. I so loved that he reused the hornets nest. I would definitely recommend for anyone with a hornet, wasp or bee problem to call. Great service, knowledge & reasonably priced. read more

We first used Dan two summers ago, after moving into our townhouse and realizing we had a pretty serious nest infestation of paper wasps. He gave us all the information on them we could want and then returned the next day and efficiently removed all of the nests and the vast majority of the wasps, for a very reasonable price. Fast forward to this afternoon, when we were having our townhome power washed in preparation to be painted and discovered that we had a yellow jacket infestation in the satellite dish that came on our house when we moved in, which we had never used. My husband called Dan and left a voice mail. Dan called back five hours later, got my husband's voice mail and left a message. But then he also happened to be in the neighborhood and stopped by. He immediately identified the problem and told us he could solve it in an hour. When I asked when he could do it, he replied with, "How about now?" My husband and I had been heading out to dinner and we paid him, left for dinner and came home to a yellow jacket free home. We love Dan the Bee Man. read more

Dan the Bee Man was EXCELLENT. He took the time to talk to me about the kind of bees that were surrounding the problem area and offered me different options to take care of them. When the only true option that presented itself turned out to be requiring poison (or otherwise damaging my property) Dan graciously gave me a reference for a company that could take care of it, as he doesn't use poison, and didn't charge me for anything. What a guy! I would have paid him for the consultation but he was awesome about it. The reference (Cascade Pest Control) were able to perform the service within two days. Outstanding. I highly recommend Dan the Bee Man for your bee problems - and I was grateful for his attitude and his service! read more

Dan was super nice and knowledgeable. After checking with his infrared camera to make sure that the nest hadn't expanded into our interior walls he gave us honest feedback that didn't require the removal of the yellow jackets or extra costs on our part. Dan is the (bee) Man! We had a large hornet's nest fall from a tree by our front porch on a Saturday night. We arrived home to find it unexpectedly and were swarmed as we entered the house. I called several exterminators fully expecting not to hear from anyone until Monday. Dan returned my call at 10:00 PM on Saturday night and came out at 11 on Sunday morning to remove the nest and assist us. By this time the hornets were truly mad as their name. And he did not charge us his full rate because the nest had already fallen. He was knowledgeable, professional, gave us options, explanations and was very agreeable when we opted to have him handle it for us. I'd highly recommend him. read more

I contacted Dan on a Sunday about a large wasp nest in my backyard. This had gone unnoticed, and really could be a hazard to my neighbors. Excellent, professional service. Thanks Dan! read more

We have a dwarf corkscrew pussy willow tree that was swarming with buzzing creatures for a few weeks. We assumed there was a hive/nest and emailed Dan to come out and advise us about our problem. What caught my attention was his response. He wrote an in-depth description of his latest experiences with pussy willow trees and circling bees, wasps and hornets. He included suggestions that there might not be a nest, but simply circling insects feeding on something in the tree. At our request he came out to evaluate the situation, said the creatures were bald faced hornets who "sting first and ask questions later", and said their behavior suggested no nest. We were awestruck by his grasp of summer swarmers, and he taught us many things that we had never heard of. He advised us of choices to eliminate the problem. Dan knows his stuff. He is a gem... read more

Dan was great! I emailed him on Thursday night and he was able to come out two days later. I had mentioned in my email that it was not an emergency...I'm sure he would have scheduled an appointment sooner if needed. We have a yellow jacket nest above our front porch. The location is very tricky to get to and he explained what would be required to remove the nest (cutting a hole in the siding of our house, removing the nest, and putting a temporary patch over the hole). Because Dan isn't licensed as a contractor, he can't legally repair the holes made to access the nest, so we would need to have someone else come fix our siding for us. The other option he gave us was to leave the nest alone and wait for the yellow jackets to leave in the fall. Then we can fill in the cracks they are using to access the nest and not worry about them coming back next year. We chose the latter option since the yellow jackets haven't really been bothering us. Dan assured us that if we change our mind later and want the nest removed, the consultation fee we paid him today can be put toward the cost of removal. Dan was very knowledgable and not pushy at all. I definitely recommend him! read more
