Love seeing Interesting ingredients and dishes I would not be able to recreate at home. That alone makes this place worth visiting. Their dumplings are tender and delicate, unlike thick balls dough at most restaurants. Their "spicy" food is actually spicy. Fun, innovative cocktails. read more

Excellent food and service. We enjoyed sitting outside but you may need a reservation to sit inside if they are busy. Sichuan food like mapa tofu is usually spicy but you can tone it down if you wish. The vegan crispy noodles with tofu was awesome!! read more

The food is amazing and the service is really good it's a family share food restaurant

Came here with my friend who is from Taiwan and she was really impressed with their dishes! We ordered the beef tripe and glass noodles as well as some cocktails and everything was very authentic and delicious! The cocktails were made so well and a little dangerous not gonna lie! The food was honestly so so good that I wish I never tried it because I'll be back all the time! read more

Fresh and delicious food with varied spice levels. We have done both take out and eaten in. The vegetable dishes have all been consistently fresh and unlike many places they are not overcooked. The string beans are one of my favorite vegetable dishes. The cucumbers are a must have every time we go spicy enough for those who like spice. The. Dan Dan noodles with pressed tofu were our go to noodle dish. We recently tried the cold sesame noodles and they were great for those who like lower spice level. Service has been consistently good. The outside seating area is pleasant as long as the weather is decent. read more

I've been here before, and really enjoyed it, but I won't be back. The food was fine. It was nothing spectacular. But the service was truly awful. Our waitress never stopped by the table. We had to flag her down every time we needed something. She didn't seem happy to be there or to talk to us. Which is fine, I suppose, but this is supposed to be a nice dining experience, and it is not. One of the people at our table ordered a duck dish that just never arrived. We asked after it when everyone else was finishing their meal and it did come out about five minutes after that. I think it just hadn't been put in. When going to pay, I try to do Apple Pay at the front. My tap was not accepted. Thinking it might be a MasterCard issue I selected a Visa, and it still was not accepted. My cards are in good standing. Neither of my cards would have a problem paying for a meal. The hostess suggested I call my bank in front of everyone standing there. It was pretty embarrassing, and not super professional. Afterwords I went shopping and was able to use Apple Pay with no difficulty whatsoever. This was a problem with their machine. But having two separate employees treat me rudely for a meal that cost close to $200? I won't be back. read more

Ordered lo mein with taiwanese sausage, I ordered this before from the city restaurant so was excited for what I thought would be another yummy meal. Was I ever wrong!!! I think the entire dish had half a sausage and that's me being generous!! I understand things have gotten more expensive but you can't increase the prices and also decrease the portions. Supremely disappointed and disgusted just threw it away read more

Great food, friendly staff, a little overpriced. We have enjoyed both dining in and take out. Lovely flavors, loosing one star due to price.

Great quick preparation and food always arrives hot and on time. The scallion pancake might be the best ever! The lychee fish, lomein, garlic chicken and hot and sour soup are the staples in my house hold. Love these guys! read more

What a delightful Saturday night! We came here for the Lion Dance at DanDan and it was so entertaining to watch during our meal. I loved how the Lion would dance right up to people's faces. We ordered the spicy cucumber, spicy DanDan Noodles with pork, Wontons, Ginger Duck and Mapo Tofu. Everything was delicious although the highlight for me was the Duck since it was the most generous serving of duck I've ever had since usually when you order duck there are only 6 little pieces and about half of it is just pure fat. It was quite exceptional and I would go back just for this dish alone! The spicy cucumbers were good but not sure what all the fuss was about. Service was very good and loved how we were checked on a few times to see how we liked everything. I know there have been quite a few reviews on DanDan lately and some have been really positive and others were not so positive. The Lion dancers got right in your face which led to squeals of delight from kids and adults (me included.) Suburban Square feels like the village square since it was so lively and was so great to just see people hanging out. Kids were playing on the grassy area so we just loved how family-friendly it was. My son had a blast playing tag, duck duck goose and hide and seek with other kids on the huge grassy area. read more

Very good ambience and excellent food! Loved the whole vibe of this place, would definitely come again!

Horrible food. Ordered "2 whole bronzino fish in hot oil" for $34. There were 4-5 tiny pieces of fish in a vat of hot oil with tons of red hot peppers. Looked and tasted horrible. I should have complained but I was with someone and didn't want to upset them. Don't order this dish. Noodle dishes may be better. read more

I enjoy the cumin lamb, dry pepper fish, double cooked pork belly (spicier than standard), dan dan noodles, and black pepper green string beans read more

The ambiance was very nice but food is over priced, overcooked and over sauced. We had the Brussels sprouts ($18!) which were soggy and not so great. Dan Dan noodles were a disappointment- drowning in sauce and tasted like they were sitting in a warming oven for a few hours. The highlight was the server, who was very friendly. Would not go here again. read more

DanDan - Suburban Square -  I am thoroughly impressed with DanDan on many levels.  We had a reservation on a busy Sat pm 2 weeks ago.  We got there and there was no reservation and nothing available.  We were bummed but had a great meal at Rosa Mexican which made up for it.  I let Catherina know and she immediately looked into it and then had her regional manager Justin call me.  We made another reservation last night with Justin.  We ordered the potstickers, a sizzling wonton platter and a very spicy tofu, the fried ice-cream dish plus cocktails.   The servings were humongous... really one entree dish is enough for two people to split if they have some rice to go with it.  The sizzling wonton dish was prepped tableside  - I love the drama of tableside preparation... and then you know how fresh it is too!  The main entrees were extremely delicious.  I just loved the bold flavors in both of them.   We have a ton of leftovers today.  Justin came to our table at the end to make sure everything was ok.   I was not only really impressed with the food but more impressed with  DanDan's commitment and follow-up to make sure their customers are taken care of even if there was a mistake. We all make mistakes but loved getting special treatment and attention to make up for it.  This makes me want to return to DanDan even more!  Thank you so much Cat and Justin! read more

Went to Dan dan Ardmore for Chinese new year and had the chance to taste many items. They were all delicious!! I especially liked the farmers chicken, fish with black bean sauce, Taiwanese pumpkin noodles, and dan dan noodles . Food is authentic and not overly Americanized. I liked this location better than the one in downtown Philly. The menu selection is much larger. read more

Great food and cool bar. Went to the Ardmore location. My issue was with waitress/bartender. My friend and I ordered string beans and spicy beef with ripped noodles and to drink casamigos tequila. Everything was great. Then about 20 minutes later, a server brings out another order of the spicy beef, and apologizes that it took so long. I told he we never ordered 2 orders. The bartender said we did. My friend and I said in unison no we did not. It was strange and uneasy that she never gave us eye contact and to check in to see if everything was OK. It was not crowded and she was not busy. Check comes, it has 2 spicy beefs on it. Told bartender , she takes it off, but not even a word like sorry about that. Each tequila drink was $17.50. Insane. Will not go back and eat/drink there. Maybe just get takeout. read more

We keep going to this same place for authentic Asian cuisine. The service is good and the ambiance is amusing and neat.

Good food, terrible service. I will never come here again. Do better. You can't treat your employees and customers the way I saw you treat them. read more

Complete contempt for customer service. I have continued to order from DanDan because the options in our area are pretty limited - the great places like hunan and suzanna foo closed. After the experience I just had I am really fed up with this place. Dine in is a better experience, though the prices are quite high. Delivery is through Door Dash, who the restaurant blames for the mistakes they make about half the time. Tonight was another one: the bag arrived and there was an item missing. To be clear, the bag was stapled shut and the handles were twisted, so the restaurant forgot to include them. When I called the restaurant the first woman to answer told me that I was wrong, that they had been included. I persisted and the manager got on who had a very cavalier attitude and kept calling me "boss." He said that he would need to call Door Dash and I would need to get them to credit it back. It took several calls back and forth between Door Dash and the manager. He continued to be overly familiar and under-apologetic for a mistake that they clearly made and didn't want to be bothered. They really don't care about customer service to a point where, sadly, they deserve to fail. read more

Not authentic Chinese food. Every dish tastes the same because they use the same sauce over and over all the dishes.

I just ate here for the first time and it was the best meal I've had in a long time. The crisp spicy cucumbers, three cup king oyster mushrooms, dan dan noodle with pressed tofu, and spicy and sour shredded potatoes were all delicious. The youngest diner of the group loved the vegetable potstickers. The rest of the group very much enjoyed the pumpkin seafood tofu soup and the branzino. I hope to eat here again next time I'm in the area. read more

I went to the restaurant last night after 8pm. The food was good, but the service was awful. My waitress gave the impression she was at a track meet, she drop off the food and kept moving. We ordered an appetizer and main dish. My main dish came out first, the person I was with, his meal came, then afterwards his soup, and my appetizer came last. Again, food was good but service was very disappointing. read more

Thw food was excellent, but the service only OK. I'll definitely be back. I'd recommend the ginger duck and the beef noodles.

Food was great. I usually go to the center city Phila location. The waiter staff was great. I will add it was a strang experience when I entered the store with 3 other guests, in full veiw of the host. He ignored us and continued a conversation about bartendending school with a co worker. The co worker stopped the conversation stating that the host should help us. The twist, the host was the manager. Which is what made that interaction so strange. I did not complain but did want to mention it to him. However I did not see him when after we finished eating. read more

Delicious. Got the cumin lamb, soup dumplings- was way too much food but definitely worth it. Outdoor seating available.

I have had this place on my radar for a while now! My husband is Taiwanese so naturally when we saw a restaurant that specialized in Taiwanese food, we had to to visit. We came with a couple of friends on a Wednesday evening. We drove over an hour to eat here. We had high hopes, unfortunately the service was really bad. We waited about an hour to order our food and went thirsty since it took a long time for anyone to realize that our waters were empty, meanwhile we saw other tables getting their waters refilled multiple times. We also saw many tables come, get their food, and leave before we even ordered. We asked for a refill on our sodas which never came. I really wanted some guidance on what dish I should order, but again, bad service, so by the time someone did get around to taking our order, I just ordered whatever at that point. When we asked for boxes and the check, that took another half an hour to come as well. Overall, our first impression wasn't the greatest. read more

Slow service, good food but unfortunately offset by very slow service. Probably need more staff.

First time at Dan-Dan. The food was fine, but the service was very slow. We reserved an outdoor table and were seated promptly. Our friendly waiter took our drinks order and then disappeared for about 15 minutes. Upon his return he took our food order and was helpful with suggestions. Then the second wait began. Not as long as the drink order, but the plates came randomly, one at a time (no utensils or napkins until we asked for them). Finally, there was no pressure to leave after the meal-after an interminable wait we had to go into the restaurant to ask for the check. read more

This Dandan in Ardmore restaurant is nothing like the one I went to in Wayne. The one in Wayne was decent, clean and safe. Well, at least one in Wayne left me a good memory. I feel so disappointed about the Dandan Ardmore food safety and service, that I decide to stop going there anymore. It is not just because its food get more and more oily and heavy. Service there is slow. The last straw on the camel's back is I got food poisoning after eating its food. And its manager showed no sympathy at all. All he wants to do is deny. I am surprised how I was treated after I emphasized that I don't want any refund, simply a sorry that's all. But obviously Dandan think they have enough customers that losing one is really nothing. How could they make mistakes and cause customers to have food poisoning! No, it's your own fault. If you won't come, others will. So why should I care? If that's their attitude toward customer, I don't think they can go far. It is really sad for me to see an restaurant I liked before goes down like this. read more

This was the first time that I went to Dan Dan and I absolutely loved it. The service was great. Our waiter gave great suggestions and the food was delicious. I've been to the Wayne location many times but this was my first visit to Ardmore. It was a weekend night and it was crowded so I didn't anticipate a walk up table anytime soon. Instead I opted for the bar. Comfortable stools and the same menu is available. The meal and service was great and it appears the menu is very similar or the same as Wayne. This location is closer to home so I will be back often. read more

The restaurant was short staffed and the poor waiters were run ragged attending to tables both inside and out. There were 3 in our party. We had drinks and ordered a vegetable order to share and individual main courses. The string beans arrived with one order and the other two didn't arrive for at least 10 minutes. The chicken with scallions and ginger was so bland it tasted like it had been boiled. I ordered it mildly spicy but it was bland. The martini I ordered had no olive and was watery. The string beans were tasty and well seasoned. Not worth returning in my opinion. read more
