I have been here before and always received great service. I stopped for a while because I developed some issues with my toe nails that I was a bit embarrassed about. I was succeeding at getting them healthy again, but one toe started to become almost ingrown. Try s as I might, I was not being able to fix it and sandals season was back with a vengeance. So I came for a pedicure. Calvin gave me super excellent service. I told him to clip the most he could, and I finally have fully healed toes again. Could not be more thankful! Tammy is the absolute TRUTH!!!!!! Ive never had someone shape my coffin nails so perfectly in such a short time. She's a perfectionist, but not in an annoying taking 2929288217 years way. I'm sad that she's on maternity leave because my hands are blahhhh, but I will not let anyone else touch my nails. Calvin does a great set placement, BUT I'm not a fan of his shaping at all. There's an older lady that does mani/ pedi's....DO NOT LET HER TOUCH YOUR HANDS OR FEET!!!!!! Her polish is sloppy and she doesn't take her time with your feet. Calvin's wife is the best with polish. FINALLY! I finally found a happy nail salon experience !!!! I moved to Bethesda a few years ago but was shocked that in such a populous area I could not find a single satisfactory nail salon experience anywhere. I tried salons in Bethesda, Rockville, Gaithersburg-I read reviews, I tried neighbor recommendations-and I was so unhappy I had nearly given up. (I am from another state and never had trouble finding a decent nail experience before moving here) I was in Damascus going to my dermatologist and just drove up to this nail salon nearby. The most recent Yelp reviews said nice things-so I went in without an appointment. I had a deluxe pedicure and manicure. The man who did my nails was absolutely wonderful, kind and sweet! The relaxing spa music playing on the flat screen really allowed me to unwind and enjoy my services. So many places are so noisy these days but not Damascus Nails. I started chatting up two other ladies who worked there (LOVED THEM!) and observed how everyone treated the customers like family. They greeted people by name and remembered personal details of their obviously devoted clientele. And it was genuine-not fake-they really love their customers. Every previous salon I went to in the DMV was very impersonal and cold feeling to me-I felt like I was just a number and not a human being. This is EXACTLY what I was looking for. Also important to me was how meticulous they were about sterilization of tools. Both my feet and hands looked absolutely perfect to me (I had encountered terrible sloppy work at so many places I tried before this.) At the end of my services I asked my wonderful male nail tech to write his name down for me on a business card and he said the unheard of: "Oh its okay-everyone here is as good at their job as I am". I have never been in a nail salon in my LIFE where the staff was that honest and supportive of each other. So I found my regular nail spot now and couldn't be happier! (Moral of this story is I had to kiss a lot of frogs to find my prince-lol!) read more

POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE! Looks like the family business is just becoming too much for the employees there. Very poor customer service skills and professionalism. I understand that nail techs work commission which why I would think any tech would go above and beyond to assist any customers. Instead, I had the worst experience of my life just when I sat at the table to get my nails done. No greeting and the tech had the worst attitude. I had to get up and leave before she even touched my nails due the negativity in the environment of the salon. Businesses need to wake up and understand! This is your average neighborhood nail salon. Simple. The offer the basic services at a comparable price to other local spots. Only been here twice (so far) but called ahead maybe 20-30 before going in both times and didn't wait too long to be seen. Each time I've noticed that the technicians have relationships with multiple regular customers which I admire. They address the customers by name as they walk in or out of the shop. Not a fan of this salon. I've several not so good experiences there from bad gel manicures to going back to have a nail fixed and getting a bit of an attitude. Made a 5:00 appointment for two pedicures. One for my daughter and one for me. When we came in they got our chairs ready and we were seated with our feet soaking. After a few minutes I realized that my daughters pedicure was proceeding but I was still sitting with my feet in what was now cool water. Apparently the same girl is doing both pedicures. That is not my idea of two pedicures at 5. I am on a time schedule and this will now take twice as long as planned. When I inquired I was told that the other girl had gone home early with an emergency.
