Every time I come here I get hurt. I got acrylics here once and they drilled right through my nail because the were taking to each other and not paying attention. This time I just got regular painted nails and they did it as fast as they possibly could, cut me, and did a bad job overall. I am not new to getting pedicures. I very much looked forward to this morning. I left very unsatisfied. Then pressured for a tip....‍. I tip service people generously. I know the industry. A year or so ago, I tried doing a walk-in (and was told to come back the next day) -- so this time I called ahead and made an appointment for 11am on a Saturday (no specific person). The person on the phone picked 11am, saying it was an available time. I came in at 11am and was told someone would be me with soon. I asked how long and they said "very soon, not long at all." At this point, I picked a polish and the front desk person put me in a pedi chair with hot water in the tub. Then...nothing. No updates, no offer of something to drink. Nothing. I waited until 11:30am and I left. The front desk person stood up when I was leaving, but offered no apology or explanation. Clearly, this place needs to staff better or have someone doing the scheduling that knows what their doing. I didn't come in to pay $75 for services -- and then be ignored and made to wait. read more

The place is well maintained and clean and has a nice atmosphere. But to be honest the only reason I go here is because it's the only decent shop in town. The pedicures are mediocre and I've had my gel manicure chip within 3 days. Every time I've made an appointment I've had to wait at least 20 mins past that time. I could probably take that 20 mins and drive somewhere that would provide a better service **update** Definitely done with this place now. I brought my daughter here for a mama n me date and when we walked in i asked if they could do a mani for us and the girl in the fRont just frankly said "NO"! I looked at my daughter (which had a sad face) and told her we would have to go to our regular place another day. The gorl said "ohh, I might have one person available". We came in and on the tv was a rated R movie!!! I waited at least 10-15 minutes for them to change it but they definitely were NOT going to change it so I ended up asking after the 6th F-bomb! They ended up changing it but not until I said something. Once they started doing my daughters nails, they did not say a SINGLE WORD to her. It's a shame that this place has gotten some not-so-great reviews lately. My experience was quite different. I made an appointment last Saturday for a regular mani/pedi at 2:45, not for anyone specific as I had never been there before. I had 2 gift certificates for this place and had held off going after reading these reviews, but thought what's the worst that could happen. I have to say I received great service from a friendly staff here. I wish I could remember their names, but 2 different ladies did both my mani then pedi and did a great job. The nail polish was evenly applied and sufficiently covered my normal nail color. With my pedicure, the nail technician was even nice enough to add another layer of polish to my toe which had a bruise underneath to cover that up. All was done in a timely manner, not rushed. I was allowed to sit there and let everything dry. The whole experience was actually pretty relaxing. I am not sure if others' experience were due to an off day or they were really busy or what, but it is not what I had found with this salon. Overall I had a great experience. The only thing I wish they had was one of those tables you could sit at to dry your finger and toe nails, but that's really it. I will be coming back here for sure and hope the good service continues! read more

My first time there a month ago. I was greeted by Jenny, an older nail stylist who worked there. She ask me to pick out a lotion and nail color. I got the nail color but was surprised she wanted me to pick a lotion out. How nice was that? I sat down with her and she engaged in conversation with me. She took a nice amount of time doing my nails. I got a gel lotion which took a longer time then normal. But wow! She put a lot of work into doing my nails! The end result was stunning! I want to like Mimi nails more than I do, but have to go with two stars for a few reasons: 1. Cleanliness - there is dead skin from manicures all over the floor every time I visit. This is especially yucky when the nail tech forgets to put the disposable flip flops on before painting your toes and you have to walk all over it. (True story.) The bathroom is pretty icky, too. 2. Time spent on mani/pedi - typically a rush job to get people in and out. I haven't had a tech here who has spent the time necessary to really scrub away callouses or clean under the nails. 3. Service - techs have not gone the extra step of helping with my purse or shoes when transferring from pedi to mani or from mani to drying station. Not that I can't help myself, but would be nice to not ruin my polish. Pros: 1. They play chick flicks on nice flat screen TVs so you can watch while you're there. 2. Decent massage chairs if you're into that sort of thing 3. Modern decor... if only they would keep it cleaner. 4. Nice selection of OPI polishes. read more

Went here for a full set of acrylics and the women was very rude. I have short nails and she was extremely bothered by them. Which was odd because most people get acrylics to fix their short or bitten nails. She rushed and smudged the polish by touching it to see if it was dry, and then her fingerprint was in it and she didn't fix it. She also didn't wait between layers of nail polish for to dry so at the end my nails were wet for a very long time. I wouldn't recommend it if you have short nails and want acrylics, or just make sure you get someone who's good at it and is it rude. Price was just like any other salon which is typically $30 for a set and 20 for a fill. But organic nails are the same price and they are so much better and nicer. And the customer service is fantastic, unlike this place. I want satisfied at all. read more

I had an appointment today and came on time. 15 minutes passed and no one came by to help me (but they turned their heads when I walked in). I asked the receptionist and she was very polite and apologized as none of the ladies came up to at least tell me they were running behind schedule. She comes back a few minutes later and tells me I'd have to wait 15 MORE MINUTES which is ridiculous given I had an appointment. She tells me that a guest decided to add a manicure when she only had an appointment for a pedicure. The nail technician should not have allowed this given that I had an appointment. This isnt the first time I've experienced bad customer service here and I see that the nail technicians treat some customers differently. All customers should be given great customer service. She creates relationships with her customers and always greets them by name, remembering facts about their lives and families. I know others are rating them low. However, I always ask for Cindy and I make appointments! I never leave it to chance. I went with my Goddaughter, her manicurist had a totally different technique and steps for the mani/pedi. My Goddaughter's gels came off on her fingernails in less than a week. Here I am 5 weeks later and my nails have grown quite a bit and are just now peeling. I have only ever had Cindy. Her work is superior. She does the mani first and paints them while you are still in the wonderful massage chair ( no need for those paper shoes). Cindy puts my own sandals gently back on my feet to ensure I don't mess up the polish! Once I stubbed my toe on the carpet in Ledos after getting them painted. I went back in and Cindy gladly and kindly fixed it! I suggest you all give Mimi another try but make appointments with Cindy only! Some of the other ladies aren't as thorough! And Cindy is a lovely woman to talk too as well! I don't see many other manicurists talking to their patrons! read more

Worst pedicure I've had in a long time. The girl cut my toe and didn't apologize or even acknowledge that she had done it, yet she started dabbing at it to stop the bleeding. She didn't use toe dividers, got nail polish everywhere and the final product looked rushed. I got to sit in the massage chair for 5 minutes afterward until she walked up and put my shoes on and said it was time for me to leave. The other customers got to sit there for at least a half hour after watching the movie that was on. This place used to be great years ago when I first started going, but it's going downhill. Cindy was very thorough; my pedicure included a calf and foot massage and I got to pick out the scent of the lotion. Fairly inexpensive too - $33 to get a pedicure and my eyebrows waxed. Terrible experience today at Mimi nails. Went in for a mani/pedi appointment. My technician, Jenny, completely rushed the appointment. I was in and out in under an hour. Normally I would think this was a good thing but her rush job showed! I left with nail polish left on my hands and skin surrounding my nails. Not only that, but this woman was RUDE. Every time she wanted a different foot or hand she would smack/tap my foot or hand - and not in a gentle manner. I understand if I am not paying attention but she would do it before I even had a chance to react. One time she even flung my hand back and it knocked her light which messed up my polish which she irritatingly corrected and then warned me to "be more careful". Right before she was about to polish my nails I asked if I could pay. She allowed me to and after I signed she said "Do you have cash for tip? Because I didn't charge it on your card." I was floored. I always tip generously but I believe tip is earned, not guaranteed and she did not deserve anything. For the record, I still tipped but looking back wished I hadn't. I won't be returning to Mimi's. The only reason I'm giving 2 stars is because I have had positive experiences in the past but this place appears to be going downhill and fast. read more

The staff were friendly, the place was clean and I got a good mani and pedi at a price that I found to be cheaper than most places. I left this salon without getting the manicure I went for because the manicurist was pushy when trying to convince me to use "gel" polish. Dermatologists do not recommend using it. The fact that it stays on for an extended time is bad for the nails. In addition, removal requires soaking in remover for 10 to 15 minutes. The manicurist seemed more interested in making me do it her way than letting me select my own polish and color. I will try one of the other nail salons in Damascus, but will not return to this one. read more
