However, when we arrived at the location there was no happy hour going on. This was my first visit here. The ambiance was bright and roomy with New York deco and photos. The staff were friendly and courteous. Our server who was also the bartender greeted us in a friendly manner and told us the specials of the day as well as recommendations of best sellers. We opted for the $30 special for 2 which was a choice of Greek salad, Caesar salad or soup to start for each person and then a pizza to share. The pizzas are 12". We ordered the Greek and Caesar salads and the Arugala Bianca pizza. We also ordered the Smoked Burrata as an appetizer. The Caesar and Greek salads were fresh and rather large portion. The Smoked Burrata doesn't come with any bread so you have to pay extra for $3 for that. I feel it should be included. Delicious! The roasted red pepper pesto is very tasty but does have a little bit of heat. The bread is made in house and served with an herb butter. Very yummy! Definitely a must have! The pizza was nicely layered with toppings. It comes with a truffle oil but because I am allergic to mushrooms we did not have that. It definitely needs a little more of something. A balsamic drizzle would have been perfect and probably the truffle oil. It was nicely cooked with a crust crunch with each bite. Everything so fresh on it. Yummy! Definitely of the NY style type of pizza. Overall we were pleased with the meal and experience. We will be back to choose a pizza with some sauce on it.

The cheese was so thick, warm, and gooey; the staff was informative, and even 15 minutes before closing after a long hot day at the beach, they were willing to indulge an enthusiastic patron. I asked it the sausage was rustic... she showed me a pan and said... this is the sausage - the sausage is good.... It was a great experience. We had a fabulous meal at Dalmata, a place we had strolled by so many times - so glad we decided to give it a try! Our party of seven was quoted a 35 minute wait time, and we were seated in about half an hour. My wife and I waited at the bar and had a drink, which was lovely, and our service was lovely and friendly all evening. The food was delicious - we had the cheesy garlic bread and the focaccia to start, and both were great. I went with the Daddy portion of the chicken parmesan, and it was terrific. Came with a side of the homemade mafalda marinara - even better with the leftovers for lunch the next day! My daughter loved her chicken pesto pizza, and everything everyone had was awesome. The decor and the vibe is awesome - the italian movie posters and colorful lights, the italian bruce lee posters in the bathroom, and the multiple TVs playing good flicks for the kids (Rio 2, Freaky Friday, Incredibles). The only thing was that our order took a long time, even orders from the bar. You know the food was delicious and wonderful when even with a seriously extra long wait for food, everyone left raving about the meal and excited about coming back next year. The server said they were having a printer issue and that's why stuff took so long. No worries, it happens, and man, was it worth it. We had a wonderful time and will be back! read more

Dough Hook

We stopped into Dough Hook for the first time during our annual summer vacation to Bethany Beach,…read moreand this new spot instantly became one of our favorites. The pizza dough is outstanding, incredibly soft, airy, and crafted with the kind of care you only get from a small business that truly loves what it does. We tried both the ricotta slice and the Margherita, and each one had beautifully balanced flavors. The ricotta was creamy without being heavy, and the Margherita had that perfect harmony of fresh tomato, basil, and cheese on top of their exceptional dough. The staff knew exactly what they were doing by adding the basil after the bake, keeping it fresh and fragrant instead of burnt and wilted. You can taste the quality in every bite. Bethany Beach thrives because of small businesses like this, and Dough Hook is exactly the kind of place worth supporting. Friendly people, great food, and a passion for doing things the right way. We'll definitely be back on future trips. A quick note for visitors: Bethany Beach is paid‑parking only, and during peak season -- especially weekends -- finding a spot can be a challenge. But the town is small and walkable, so no matter where you park, it's an easy stroll to Dough Hook and downtown. If you're in Bethany Beach, make this place part of your trip. It's a fantastic addition to the local food scene.

A new pizza shop in Bethany Beach... and it is actually really really good!!…read more Bethany Beach already has top of the line pizza options, but Dough Hook found a spot and is making waves at the beach! Trying to order pizza on a Saturday night, Pomodoro had a 3 hour wait and Grotto's had a 1.5 hour wait - so we decided to try the new 2026 option. With online ordering and only 15 minute wait, we ordered 3 large pizzas without a second thought. The store is tucked into the Main Street of downtown Bethany. With a walk up section and pizza by the slice, they are perfect for a midday stop, but they also own the spot next door with plenty of tables to eat right there. The pizzas are expensive, but that's beach life. $24-30 for a large pizza is honestly normal for most of Bethany Beach. We ordered: Pepperoni - charred cup pepperoni with plenty of the topping Garlic Ricotta - garlicky white sauce with warm blobs of ricotta on top of a tasty cheese blend. The warm ricotta is such a step up - I hate when they put it on cold 3 Topping (Steak, Green Peppers, & Mushrooms) - since they also serve cheesesteak, I was surprised that they didn't have a cheesesteak pizza. With a 3 topping option, we could make it ourself. Steak was freshly sliced and cooked, green peppers nice and thin, and mushrooms cooked down to perfection! The crust - is a tad disappointing - that's the star deduction. Lacking any real flavor - it is bland. With the white sauce, the garlic leaked onto the crust and made it.. okay. I hope they can make an adjustment to give it some flavor.

The slices are huge. The toppings are thin. A folded bite is essential! The interior is just a small pickup counter, a cooler of soda bottles/cans, and a refrigerator of some off-menu salads and cannolis. Pizza It's not great but it's better than what you get at most other places in DE. The food scene here is wildly disappointing. I had cauliflower crust and my husband had regular crust. Neither of us were happy with our pizza and tossed them after a few bites at home. They were oddly heavy and just lacked something I can't quite put my fingers on. His was regular cheese pizza and mine was the Boujee Jawn. Wings Actually great! Some of the best here. I feel like everywhere in DE does their wings "hard" which is utterly gross to me. These were moist and sauced very well. Transparently I'd come back for them. Burrata I love burrata and I didn't finish this. The flavor combo was just too off for me. I think having a full arugula salad with the delicacy of the burrata was just too much contrast. Plus I really wish it had been tomato slices or halves and not diced up like pico.
