I am not 100% satisfied with the outcome of my back door project. The door was initially installed to align with the interior wall, which left it looking crooked on the outside. All good as that is common with these old homes in Oakcliff. They came back out and readjusted the door so that it aligns on the outside and has an "illusion" of alignment on the inside. My issue is primarily with the painting and finishing. This was a 4k+ door and I am not happy with the final finished product. I don't think these installers are painters and I was left with overpainted areas on the outside trim and of most concern, the interior trim is not aligned, not smooth and has messy areas of caulking and dripped paint that was left behind. I've included before the fix and after the fix photos showing what I've described. I was initially excited to work with this company as they had gotten such great reviews but I've come to regret my decision based on the final outcome. I feel like my concerns were met with some concern but I don't feel like they have gone above and beyond to ensure that I am 100% satisfied.

    "Before" pic

Working with Dallas Door Designs was a wonderful experience, start to finish! From our initial consultation with Sergio, to designing our door with Jami, to the installation -- the entire process was five stars. Our new door is absolutely beautiful and completely changes the look of our home, and we feel we were treated honestly and fairly throughout. We were so impressed with the installation crew -- they came in one day and did all the necessary brick and trim work around the door, so that when they left the door install was complete with no loose ends to follow up on with another company. The guys were so friendly and worked hard all day to get the job done. We really appreciated the care they took with our home during the install as well. They taped off and covered their work area to prevent any dust from coming into the house, and when they left they even swept, mopped, and sprayed down our front porch. Apart from the gorgeous new door, we would not even have known a large construction project had happened, as they left everything sparkling clean. We can't recommend this company enough, and look forward to working with them again when we're ready to replace our interior doors. Photos are before, during, and after.

    Our new door

Dallas Door Designs came and measured, explained the process in detail. They showed us many different styles, explained several options for our new door. Based on what we needed we narrowed it down to 3. DDD was able to make a thick door 2 1/4" we had many options on glass too. They removed our old 40+ year old door and installed the new door complete with a mortise entry set lock. The installation crew knew exact what to do, and was very meticulous, and thoroughly cleaned and left my entry area spotless. Hats off to an excellent group .

We had them build replacement French doors for us. The doors are absolutely beautiful - I have no complaints about that. However the installation crews were less than impressive. The first crew patched together 2 trim pieces around the door instead of installing one long piece. The caulking where the trim and door jamb met the floor was super sloppy as well. We had them come back to replace the trim piece properly and this crew was super sloppy with the caulking as well. Overall the door is lovely but for the price I expected the finished product to look more professional.

    Before!

Dallas door designs was incredible to work with from start to finish in designing the perfect new door to go with the style of my house mixed with my personal style to a flawless installation. The before and after is amazing and I am so happy with the workmanship. Highly recommend!

Beware... Dallas Door Design built & installed a french door to replace a sliding glass door for me in Aug 2016. The install went well but after 2 &1/2 years the door looks terrible! The exterior side of the door is now warped from the rain & the paint is chipped. VERY POOR QUALITY WORK. We paid $3000.00 to this company & reached out to them for help. Was told to contact the "warranty" office, but on one ever called us back. Reached out to the owner with pictures & never got a response from him either. We are now having to make these repairs ourself & it's costing us additional money. We are very disappointed.

Excellent service! Cannot be happier with the awesome customer service and professionalism of this company! I bought a barn door from Home Depot and Sergio helped me to install it and the final product was better than I thought! Thanks Sergio and Dallas Doors!

They installed our beautiful mahogany wood doors and are always available to help us if we have any issues.

The experience was excellent from the first consultation all the way through post installation follow up. The quality of the new windows and door are as promised. Our home is noticeably more comfortable, and the reduction in road and air traffic noise is remarkable. A neighbor referred me to Tim, our Design Consultant, and I'm grateful she did. Even though Tim was new, he was a former customer and made sure every detail was addressed. Every home presents its own challenges, and our installation crew certainly encountered a few -- but I was genuinely impressed by their skill, persistence, and consistently positive attitude. Once the installation was complete, the Production Manager, Geral, stepped in seamlessly. He coordinated with Tim and specialist Clayton and followed through on all of my post project questions. Their teamwork and communication made the entire process smooth and reassuring. Overall, we are very pleased with the results and the people who made it happen.

I know the Yelp reviews are scary, but their Google rating is great. I hadn't checked Yelp until after we chose them, and honestly, I feel like we got lucky. We got quotes from 4 companies for 12 windows (20 total with 2 bay windows). Renewal by Andersen wanted $60K ($50K if we "signed today"), Pella and Champion were around $30K with gimmicks attached. Window World came in around $12K--no gimmicks. That price sealed it. The sales process was smooth. The sales guy was great, pricing made sense, dates were set quickly. Day of install? I'd give it a B-. The crew showed up on time, but communication was tough (very limited English), and they didn't feel like full-time Window World employees--just guys with branded T-shirts. The install took 7.5 hours. There was some standing around, a guy outside on his phone all day, and one worker constantly video chatting with his kid. It's a big investment for us, and I expected a bit more professionalism. They left glass shards behind (we have dogs--scary), tracked in dirt, and didn't reattach some blind brackets. One wall got damaged, but they patched it. You'll need to move everything away from the windows and expect to do a little DIY afterward--vacuuming, hardware, maybe some paint touch-ups. The windows themselves look good. A big gap during install was sealed properly and now looks great. Some windows open smoother than others, and the screens are a little sticky, but they all work. The final walkthrough was awkward--the guy barely spoke English, which made it hard to ask questions. And yeah, you have to handwrite your credit card number on a form at the end. Yikes. In the end, we're happy with the windows and the price. Just go in with realistic expectations--be ready to roll up your sleeves a bit. Solid B-.

My husband and I needed to replace the windows in our master bedroom, so we searched online and found Amazing Exterior. When the salesman visited our home to provide a quote, he emphasized that their company was very large, with numerous branches, and claimed their name was one we could trust. Based on his assurances, we signed the contract that day. We made a down payment on 9/11, and a technician came to measure the windows on 9/24. However, we didn't receive any updates after that. I emailed and called several times, and each time I was informed that the order had been placed with the factory and that I would receive an email update. Yet, until last week--almost three months after our down payment--we had not received any email updates or further communication about our order. Frustrated by the lack of updates, my husband reached out to the salesman again and asked what exactly we had purchased. The salesman's response was simply, "Windows." My husband pointed out how unusual it was to buy a product we hadn't even seen. He explained, "We didn't just buy windows from you--we bought trust. But you were the first to break that trust." The salesman had no response. When we requested to cancel the order, the salesman claimed that the contract couldn't be broken because the order had already been submitted to the factory and that canceling would result in financial loss for the company. But isn't that the reality of doing business? If customers break a contract, we face penalties. So why should we, as customers, have to worry about a vendor's losses when they failed to honor their side of the agreement? We waited for months, clueless and without updates, while they didn't seem to care. We understand that there are many window vendors available, and customers often choose companies based on their name and reviews. We trusted Amazing Exterior to do a good job, but they failed to uphold their promises. The salesman had boasted about their large, trustworthy company, and we believed in that trust. However, over the course of three months, the company never contacted us to provide updates or inform us of delays. The contract clearly stated that we would be contacted, provided with an ETA via email, and that delivery would take 2-6 weeks from the date of the agreement. Yet, the salesman seemed unaware of these terms. After all this, we received a call on Monday notifying us that installation was scheduled for Wednesday 12/18. This lack of communication, transparency, and accountability was deeply disappointing. Trust is the foundation of any business transaction, and unfortunately, Amazing Exterior failed to meet even basic expectations.
