I'm extremely disappointed with my experience with this company. The quote I received clearly included replacing an entire window, but when the work was completed, they only replaced half of it. That was never communicated to me beforehand, and it feels incredibly misleading. I genuinely feel bamboozled. On top of that, the window grids don't even line up correctly, which makes the finished product look sloppy and unprofessional. They are having to come out again to fix this. We will eventually need to replace additional window glass in our home, but after this experience, we will absolutely be using a different company. J.J.'s Window Service installed my whole house of windows 11 years ago, with a 10 year warranty. We have had a couple get moisture in them, but JJ's came out and replaced them with no problems and quickly. A couple of months ago we think two windows were hit by hail damaged and lost their seals. We called JJ's to give us a quote to replace them and they came out the next working day to look and replaced both for free, despite the fact the warranty had just expired. I am surprised they are in business. The office people are nice but the guy (Eric?) who comes out to take measurements is slower than rocks moving under the ocean. He doesn't ask for what needs to be done and I had them take measurements for some windows I needed replaced and they haven't got back to me yet. After a few months of staring out a developing foggy window pane from the breakfast room table each morning, finally on Tuesday I knew it was time to take care of this annoying problem that wasn't going to get any better. I contacted the nice folks who do my window washing (Nothing But Clean Windows - reviewed some time ago) and they directed me to J.J.'s with excellent references. They were on target. I placed the call on Tuesday afternoon, and was advised someone would be out on Wednesday between 1000 and 1200. Oh, here we go, that dreaded "2 hour window"; (whoops, no pun intended) but these folks exceeded my usually predictable expectations of arriving 5 minutes before the time is up. Chris pulled in the drive @ 1012 on Wed He took measurements, handed me the estimate, and with a pat or two on the "adorable fuzzy cocker spaniel's" head (who by the way just lurves company), he was out the door in 5 minutes, saying that someone would call the next day to schedule the installation. Sure enough, Rosa called Thursday morning and scheduled the install for Friday, between 1000 and 1200. Another "window" of time (again no pun intended). Chris arrives this morning @ 1017, whoopee don't have to wait all morning. Poor guy had to navigate thick Indian Hawthorne shrubs in front of the window but managed well with no broken branches. The installation took him about 20 minutes and I now have a bright sparkling window to gaze out over morning coffee or evening wine. The fog has lifted !! Seriously, these friendly folks keep their commitment to time and appointment schedule and do fast, efficient and great work. I highly recommend them if in need of any type of window replacement. Absolutely the cheapest in Dallas... JJ's windows is used by all the realtors I know in the area because they are so inexpensive. And in fact, there are other glass companies in town that buy from JJ's and resell. I've price compared with probably a dozen other companies over the years and they are always the cheapest. This last time they were half of what the Glass Doctor wanted to charge. Friendly and honest sales guy Joe comes out for the quote. Then Jalizabeth schedules your install. Jesse is the owner. I think your name has to start with a J to work here. Warranty is for 10 years and they do honor it should a seal break. We just had the west and south sides of our house done in low e glass. We selected the glass with the bluish tint instead of the green tint, and we love them. We can keep our windows open now, instead of always keeping them closed to keep the heat out. On the day of, I called to be sure we were still on and they said yes and someone would call me after noon. No one ever called. Not even to cancel. Quick, easy to deal with and good pricing are my first thoughts for this review. I got three estimates for eight windows to be replaced. JJ's was the least expensive by $150. On the installation date, the crew showed up early and got right to work. One guy was inside and one was outside. Eight windows replaced in an hour. Do not use JJ's Windows!!! They used to be awesome a few years ago, but, now something is wrong with this company. 6-7-16 Called to get quote on a fogged window. They couldn't come for about 2 weeks JUST TO MEASURE on 6-23-16. So, I ordered the window. RIGHT of chimney in front. Same glass as the one they replaced on the left a couple of years ago (see below). 7-25-16 Were supposed to install, but no show. They said it was because the glass wasn't ready. 8-3-16 New install date. Removed old window, but, new window was too large. Had to reinstall old window but they had cracked it. Left a messy looking taped up cracked window until the new window could be installed in a couple of days. 8-5-16 Install new window, but, they cracked it on the install. The window has adhesive smeared on the inside. They left a mess on the outside sill and trash by the window. 8-5-16 I called to cancel the job & needless to say I am not paying. Seeking another company to do do it right. 8-8-16. JJ's called to say they felt bad about the problems & would replace the window free on 8-23-16. I also ordered another window in the back. 8-23-16 I called JJ's to confirm the installation and they said I was on the schedule for the afternoon. They did not show & I did not get a call, so, I called and to install 8-27-16. 8-27-16. No show, no call. Clearly they are mess if with me. read more

I can't believe the one-star reviews on here about J.J.'s. They must have been written by family or friends of J.J.'s competitors. I picked J.J.'s because of a LOT of very positive reviews they had on Nextdoor from people in my neighborhood. Jeff, the owner, came out 2 1/2 weeks ago to give me an estimate on replacing all the 25 year old windows in my 3,500 sq. ft. 2-story house. (you know, the ones with crossbar fake panes). His install crew showed up today on time, were cheerful, considerate & professional and they finished the job in about 6 hours. The new windows look great, the price was very reasonable and before they had finished installing the windows, a neighbor came across the street and wanted them to bid his house--they did, and they have another new customer. read more

I see why this place gets straight one star. This place was highly recommended originally. When they scheduled me two weeks after I called, I have had a doubt and they proved they deserve one star. No call, no show for appointment I even called the office so that I can talk to the person who is supposed to show up. Nobody seems to know what is going on with appointment. He assured me my frames were in good condition and proceeded to offer me an estimate at 1/2 the cost of what other glass companies were offering. Like most, I have very little discretionary $ to spend on home repairs. I'll scour the internet & use my local resources (lived here for 50+ years) to find the best option. Not reliable for appointments. I called two weeks ago and took the earliest available appointment that they had. Two weeks to wait for an appointment I wasn't too excited about but as a past customer I gave them the benefit of the doubt. I asked for an appointment before 1 pm and was told the service man would contact me the day prior or day of to give me his time estimate. Never heard from anyone. Complete no show. We had replaced the windows and one of the window was defected. For replacement, it is taking more than one month and still waiting to be replaced. I had to call them several times to hear the status and they said the window was broken or the cutting machine is broken etc. I don't recommend this company to anyone, read more

I hired them to replace bouncers in many of my windows and the glass in 2 fogged windows. The bouncers were a great job. The replaced glass was completely unacceptable. The installers attempted to install the glass FOUR different times and I'm still left with a window that I'll need to hire a different company to replace. The first time the wrong sized glass was ordered/installed. (3/8" vs the actual 1/2"). They argued with me that "this is how it was supposed to look" despite the fact that it clearly didn't match the other windows and the mismatch "didn't really matter" and even blamed me at one point for causing the gap between the frame and glass. They finally admitted that they'd ordered the wrong sized and came back with the correct size. Unfortunately that glass was installed very poorly- the gap between the glass and frame was so large, I could literally feel the temperature gradient and air leaking by the edge of the window. Their attempt to fix it was to smear sealant around the glass and instructed me to later clean it up with a razor blade if I didn't like how it looked. ??!!?? I wasn't okay with the improper seal and they ordered a THRID window. I reminded them of the correct size and again they ordered the WRONG size- again a 3/8" window, which (again) didn't fit. Their fourth attempt at install was the correct size but there is literally a 1/4" gap between the glass and the window frame- the install is careless, sloppy, and cannot be airtight to any degree. The man who came out for the initial estimate was friendly as well as the office staff. However when I discussed my concerns with there president re: these four unsuccessful attempts, and we agreed on a time/date for him "to come check it out, see how we can make it work" he never even showed up. Between the estimate, their return visits to reassess the situation and additional install attempts, I've made myself available for them SEVEN times and I am still left with a window that looks sloppy and leaks air. Their workmanship is excessively shoddy and unprofessional. Please do yourself a favor and save the headache- proceed very cautiously with this company. read more

We originally used this vendor for replacing window panes which were "fogged" due to overspray on the flip house we bought. They came out on time, and replaced the windows to our satisfaction. Their prices were reasonable and fair. Fast forward 10 months and we found some other windows which were old and leaking on the same house, so of course we called J.J.s The person who took my husband's call was rude and questioned whether they had ever come out to our house ( we have canceled checks with their name and signature on them). She first set an appointment with us and then called back to say they don't come to Garland. THATS a big old FAIL in my book. You don't ditch previous customers that would rebook in future settings because you decided not to drive 20 miles to their location. read more

Terrible customer service! We hired this company to replace two windows in our house. I called the morning of install to confirm appointment and was given a window of 3-5 pm. At 5 pm I called the company back to make sure they were still planning on coming and was told they weren't going to be able to make it at all. I missed work to sit home and wait for them. I then asked if they could reschedule for next day (Saturday) and was told they don't work on Saturday and we would have to wait until the next week to hear back from them on when they may be able to come again. The worst part is they didn't even bother to call us and let us know...we had to call them to find out why they no showed. read more

JJ's was used for all of my window needs. But in the last year or so, it's the case of the right hand not knowing what the left hand is doing. The office seems totally disconnected with the field crew (both the estimator and the installers). The office needs new turn over, training, or people that know customer service. I have been referring this company for 14+ years to my real estate clients. I finally needed foggy window replacement and a broke window replaced for my rental property and called them. The person answering the phone acted like I was a nuisance for calling. She couldn't get out to the property for another week with a horrible attitude! I don't think I can wait a week with glass missing out of a window. I will never refer this company to another one of my clients again. I'm glad to see for myself how they were treating people. I just had Low-E glass put in all of the windows in the front of my house. From end to end the service was great. A gentleman showed up about a week after I had originally called to take all of the measurements. I wish I could remember his name but he was professional and really knew his stuff. Roughly a week and a half later, Pedro showed up and installed all of the windows by himself in about 5 hours (21 windows in total). He was also a super nice guy and was good at his job. I'd recommend JJ's for anyone looking to replace any windows in their home. We'll be using them again to replace the rest of the windows in our home at some point. read more

J.J.'s Window Service is less of a service and more of an inconvenience. After calling to schedule an appointment, it took a week for someone to come out and measure my windows for repair. After waiting yet another week, someone called to schedule an appointment for the repair, which was of course another 2 weeks from then. After taking the day off of work, they finally arrived to install the windows. The installer realized that the windows were the wrong size, and in frustration told me that the person that does the measurements did this all of the time. I called the office and they said that they would have new windows made and promised to install them later that day, I waited all day and never heard a word. I never received another call and they never showed back up. After waiting 3 days, I finally called them back and was told that they would schedule me on yet another day, which would require me to take a second day off of work. When asked if they could complete the installation at a more convenient time, I was told no, when asked if I could receive any compensation for my 2 days of lost wages they offered me an insulting $18 off. J.J.'s Window Service is the worst service/repair type company that I've ever had the misfortune of dealing with and I'm thankful that they didn't actually install my windows; I can only imagine what sort of problems would have arose if they did. Save yourself the time, stress, and $$$, and find a company that actually knows how to measure and install windows correctly the first time and has at least a semblance of customer service and expertise in their field. read more

If you use this company, make sure you are with the window estimator and he is aware that you need a frosted window in the bathroom replaced with a frosted window. They installed a clear window. Their written estimate does not tell you what type of glass is being installed and make sure they do not leave until you are satisfied with their installation. There was broken glass left of my hardwoods and one window was not replaced that I paid for. They do not walk you through their work and have you sign off. I'm paying for the same window to be replaced with another company. They are the best price in town but just know if you use them you must be watching and following them around to make sure all your work is completed correctly. They don't mark which windows are being replaced. Their estimate sheet is not detailed. They offer a ten year limited warranty but they do not mark which windows were replaced on a schematic. read more

My review would have given them a zero, if not a negative number. Had an appointment Tues, April 5th. Which was made at least a week before. Trying to get windows installed before listing our house for sale. Called company around 11:30 when they hadn't shown up yet to see what time they were coming. Was told I was the last appointment of the day and that they would be at my house after 3. Got call at 4:30 saying they wouldn't be able to make it since more time was spent at previous job than expected. Was then told installation would have to wait until weekend. Asked to speak to office manager who told me installation on Wed. impossible because others were already scheduled for that day. She didn't seem to realize I also had a scheduled appointment, but I guess mine wasn't a priority like the others? A reputable company would have enough staff to ensure installation times and would assure that you would be taken care of the next day if they were unable to meet their obligation of the original appointment day. She was more than glad to take my name off their list when I told her the weekend appointment was unacceptable. So much for customer service.... Sad the way companies conduct business these days. I wonder if this type of service would have been acceptable to that office manager. Would love to get a response from the company owner to see if this type of service is acceptable to him or her.... read more

If I could give no stars I would. We have two windows we need to get balancers for. We have been dealing with this company for over two weeks and still do not have our windows fixed. It took us a week to get an appointment that we thought was going to be to fix the windows. The man came out to do an estimate instead. Waited another week and then the installers came out and had the wrong parts. Today they were supposed to come back with the correct parts, however the installer is sick and has the paperwork at home with him. No one called us to let us know of this we had to call them to find out. This company is the worst company I have ever dealt with. Also each of the days they were due here we had to wait all day as they will not give you an arrival window. We are in the process of selling our house and these windows must be repaired prior to the sale. I will never use this incompetent company again nor should anyone else. read more

We had one broken window and several that were starting to fog and needed replacement. I also had one odd shaped window (on a bathroom) of textured glass that I wanted to replace because of dingy soap scum at the base. I do not live in an area that JJ's Window Service normally serves, but I called anyway and spoke to the owner and he said he would be happy to help me out. The service man who came out was very prompt, courteous and informative. He took measurements quickly and stated when he would return with the new glass. He showed up right on the day and hour that he said, and I like that! I don't like to wait around. Anyway, he quickly replaced the glass and he was even able to match the same size and texture of glass on the replacement bathroom window! They did a great job. I knew I would have to spend some money on all those replacements so I wanted to make sure he was highly rated. JJ's had an A+ Rating on their BBB listing, so I called them. I'm glad I did. I will certainly have them back for future repairs. read more
