They sat us quick and took our orders. It did take a while to get the food but it was worth it. We had the gumbo, poor boy, cajun shrimp basket and French toast. The shrimp was really good!!! The portions were super large for the price. The gumbo was good but nothing to wow you. The boudin eggrolls were tasty and had a good sweet sauce for dipping.

So I came back again while in NOLA and again, still worth it! This time I did try something on the lunch side of the menu and went with the gulf shrimp Poboy. They do NOT skimp on the shrimp here. It was full of shrimp, flavor, and veggies. It came served with a side of fries that were perfectly cooked and seasoned. Once again, service leaves A LOT to be desired, but I feel like you get what you get with diners. Friendly service would make this 5 stars for me. But as long as it's clean and the food is good, no real complaints from me.

We stumbled upon this cute 1950s themed diner on veterans Boulevard in Kenner. At 10:30 AM on a Saturday we did not have to wait. It was pretty crowded but they had a table open with some seats still at the dining bar. The restaurant looks like a roadside diner from Route 66 in it's heyday. I loved the vintage feel. The menu had breakfast and lunch items. I was craving pancakes so I had a stack. They were huge. My mom had the chicken and waffles. The menu says chicken tenders, but it looks like they gave her the whole chicken. She had to take half of it home. She loved it. Our waitress was very friendly. I will definitely check this place out for lunch.

We were staying close to the airport and were wanting something quick. This fit the bill perfectly! You can order breakfast all day long or get sandwiches/burgers etc. The food was fantastic. The pancakes were the best part for me. They also have blue plate specials like on Thursdays, it was chicken fried steak with mashed taters for 9.99 (served with a drink). Service was good and the place is really clean with a lot of great decor!

Food portions: are NO JOKE. Recommend: Yes. Period. Job well done here. Highly recommend to ask ABOUT the sizes of their meals when ordering because just the fish and chips was enormous. Very speedy Waitressing and food was hot, delicious and delivered in under 10 minutes flat. Wonderful decor, patriotic flags from all branches hanging from the ceiling and yesteryear styled round 50's era bar seating near the kitchen. Food was great, no issues per se but don't recommend the 'Gator Bites' as they're more of a mashed 'hush-puppy' type of presentation. Otherwise, enjoyed this place, very minimal seating area, well lit with windows and positive atmosphere overall. Come grab a meal!!

    raging cajun shrimp

This place was terrible from the service to the food ! Our group had the chicken strips the shrimp and grits, the gumbo amd collard greens and the raging cajun shrimp . The raging cajun shrimp amd the shrimp and grits were completely in-edible. When we addressed it with the waitress she acted like we were an inconvenience and were disturbing her . Note she was too busy visiting with 2 young guys at the bar ..l. Now if you would like to come here and only eat toast .. that toast is awesome .. everything else . not so much . Definitely need a refund on my time and money

    The Diner Delight!

Stopped in to the Daisy Duke's Diner with Chas after flying in from Newark one morning and was fixated on trying something new. I had been here before in the past and had tried just some eggs with grits, biscuits and gravy, etc...but today I wanted something else. I have always loved the décor in here, and the owner is always around talking to people and the staff is always friendly. For today's trip...I'm trying "The Diner Delight"! This is a chicken and waffles sandwich that also has bacon and egg on it and is served with country gravy. This sandwich was intense, and at times quite confusing. Some bites I really wanted that creamy country gravy, some bites I wanted to add some hot sauce, and others I wanted some maple syrup for that waffle. Ultimately I ended up mixing all three and dipping the sandwich right in there. If you need something that's going to put you right back in bed...this is the one for you. It's super heavy, but delicious. As always, Daisy Dukes - Didn't Suck!

Great little local restaurant with all American breakfast classucs. I had tgeir early bird morning special of 2 eggs, grits, sausage and a biscuit. I also added a side of gravy. The breakfast plate was $6.99! I was shocked. This was standard, but exactly what I wanted. I will surely be back. Service was quick and comfortable at the bar, as a female and solo diner, which is not always the case

Quick, Saturday lunch in a really cute, quiet, bustling diner. Very retro and comfy. Daisy S. was our server, and brought our coffee, OJ and soda before taking our order. (This is a plus.) Husband ordered Country Fried Steak w/mashed potatoes and green beans; I opted for a side of chili cheese fries with chopped onions and collard greens. Served quick and hot, and all condiments on the table, so no delay in waiting on sauces. Was a little surprised at the size of the chili cheese fries for $8.99, but they were good and it's hard to find chili cheese fries to my liking, so yes, I'd order them again anyway. Was amused to notice we could have ordered hard liquor with our meals in this diner - anyone for a margarita with their omelet? (Breakfast is served all day.) The only leftovers were some collards and green beans. Check was handled quickly, and we left commenting it was a good choice.

Well paint me gold and call me Oscar. This little diner had me tickled pink. The chicken & waffles for brunch could be a prescription the way it fixed me right up after a night out. Super crunchy yet juicy and the waffles themselves acted as a sponge to sop up what the breading couldn't get! Been a minute since I've had fried green maters and this place was an outstanding reminder on exactly what they should taste like. Had me moving like a herd of turtles afterward but that's what good food does to you. Make sure to talk to Steve when he's in. What a mythical beast.

Crawfish wise, we ended up getting 5 pounds of the Viet Cajun and 5 pounds of the EZ blend along with sides of corn, sausage and potatoes. Everything was great and had a lot of flavor, and we were pretty surprised by the size of the crawfish. I really enjoyed both flavors though if I had to pick, I would say the Viet Cajun was better and had more flavor. My table had four of us and we weren't able to finish everything. Overall, this spot was delicious and I love all of the variety. I love variety and options, so I will say that I wish there were more flavor options for the crawfish!

This is an extremely casual place, that is both a seafood market and restaurant. I chose to lunch in. The service is friendly and familiar. I felt just as welcomed as the regulars. The menu is full of tempting selections, but knew a few things I wanted. I started off with a cup of seafood gumbo. After the first bite, I regretted not getting a bowl! Next time! It was rich and flavorful, and was clearly not rushed. Next, I also tried the chicken and andouille gumbo. Also excellent, but just slightly shy of the seafood version. The main portion of the meal was what I came for: the crawfish boil. I asked for spicy, and was informed there was only "just right," and they were correct. Initially, I was surprised that the dish came out warm, but not hot, but that, too, was just right. Oh, and the price! Usually, when you see "market price," you expect to lighten your wallet a bit, but in this case, that meant $5.99 for pound. It's crawfish season, I'm told, but still.... I'm used to paying a lot more. The decor is vintage jazz festival posters. Also, since this Women's History Month, the place is women-owned

I came back last night really excited to have it again, but unfortunately, it just didn't live up to that first experience. My boyfriend comes all the time but this was my first visit and it was a pleasure. This time around, the portion seemed noticeably different this time around. There was a lot less shrimp, the sauce had the same Cajun flavor but was clumpy as if old and the crab cake we ordered--something we also loved on our last visit--was much smaller, but increased from $5 to $8. For a place in New Orleans, where the food scene is such a huge draw, that was pretty disappointing. That said, not everything missed the mark. Ashley, the bartender, was fantastic--friendly, attentive, and really added to the experience. Also, the gentleman opening the door was incredibly kind and welcoming. Their hospitality ended up being the highlight of the visit. I still have great memories from my first time here, but this visit just didn't hit the same. Hoping it was an off night. I spoke with the manager Kelly on the same day of service but I was not satisfied with the resolution of offering a free appetizer on my next visit when purchasing an entree. Sad to say but that was my last visit. Kelly was really nice and listened but maybe her hands are tied with how the restaurant is ran and what she can offer. I didn't need a refund or a total order replacement but something else could've been recommended. $30 is a steep price for 9 shrimp in a pasta that was clunky/lumpy and not smooth as times in the past. Maybe it was because it was a togo order but most of my orders from this business had been to go, not all but most. In all, this falls on the chef that prepared this meal and I was informed by Kelly that the chef started everything was weighed and correctly accounted for however it was the cook on the pasta and lack of shrimp. I guess I've spent too much time on the bayou down through the years, because anytime a bowl of gumbo shows up without a scoop of potato salad in it I'm disappointed. Worse still, this gumbo was flavorless, bland and completely lacking of spice. Were it not for the dark color, I would have not been able to tell the difference between this and the sort of store-bought gumbo that comes from a can.
