I've been to the Rancho San Diego location a few times for takeout and it was nice that they took over the old Subway location for this place. The employees are pretty friendly and patient with kids. Mine is kind of picky and they take the time to go over options etc. We've ordered inside a couple times, but usually I order online and pick it up. It's a pretty clean shop and it's well organized. I prefer this location as it's much easier for me to get to. They have a varied menu of sandwiches, soup, salads, chips, desserts, beverages, and even fruit snacks, it's kid tested and approved. And the tomatoes were all green?! Mine included the core! How utterly disappointing!After pulling all green tomatoes off and trying to butter and toast the bread. The sandwiches were good. But when did the communication get lost? So I called informing owner or manager (She never said) of the green tomatoes and the fact none of the sandwiches were toasted. Their response was basically " Your order was ready and you were late. I responded with what does that have to do with not toasting the bread? Isn't that first? Or the placing one red tomato slice on the Turkey and multiple green unripe ones throughout? The appropriate thing to do would be to inform the caller if whether we minded the Green tomatoes? Or prefer to leave it off since you said all your recent shipments were undeveloped. They also have high chairs which is handy for our little guy! The owner was actually there that day and we got to chat for a few minutes. There is a wide variety of options on the menu! Very happy to have this close to home! We've been 4 times in 3 weeks, so that speaks for itself! As you can see, they pile on the meat. And the build-your-own sandwich is a great deal because it's a dollar less than the specialty sandwiches, but you can still add as many veggies as you want to it (avocado and bacon are extra I believe). They also have macaroni and potato salads (they were a little on the sweet side, so FYI if that's not your deal) there is also a soup of the day and salad options. Super clean and following Covid safe measures. The only thing is, they are good so they're also busy and your order can take a little longer (10/15 min) because they get a lot of called in orders that they are trying to fill along with yours. I once tried calling in however and the phone just rang and rang, so I think they're just busy and can get a little backlogged. That being said, so worth it for a solid sandwich! read more

Deli Belly in La Mesa is my favorite sandwich shop I've found in San Diego so far!! I was spoiled by east coast sandwich shops for most of my life but after trying it for the first time 2 years ago I keep coming back here! The portions are generous and the ingredients are great quality. "Chipotle So Gouda" on the squaw roll is my go-to and it never disappoints.
