This was a strange Daiso in a sense where it was difficult to find. Google Maps had us park downstairs in a plaza but we had to walk upstairs through the parking structure and enter through a side entrance. It looked backed alley and there was a parking lot directly in front of Daiso but it looked completely deserted. Basically the main entrance looked like an employee only side entrance. The selection was limited compared to other Daiso, we ended up not buying anything because they did not have the items my local Daiso has. It was also hard to find prices for everything. There were signs everywhere to convert the Japanese price to American prices but many products didn't even have the Japanese price on them. read more

There are several Daiso stores around Arcadia (mall, here, or temple city) and I usually would come to this one for many reasons: 1. There's lots of space in the parking lot (Burlington is closed so the lot on the second floor is plentiful) 2. Starbucks/Vons/Panda Express in the same plaza 3. Store isn't as crowded and more variety of selections There are usually two or three staff present, they are very friendly, and just like every other Daiso store sales are final (stamp on the receipt). For value, the prices vary if there's a yen price on the sticker. Entering without a yen price will cost a 1.75$. I usually find what I need at this Daiso and off you can't find it you can ask a staff who can help you locate the section it's in or they check the back to check their inventory. Super helpful. The things I'd come here for are their selection of cute food packaging and cooking products (bento making supplies), various decorative bowls and plates, and their huge selection of Disney products! I also do live their snack aisles, love their different drinks, candy, ramen, and crispy snacks/chips! Sometimes they have a 1$ special on snacks or other perishable food that are still good but about to expire. Overall, great Daiso. One of my favorite Daiso in my area I like to shop in. They usually have just what I need without me needing to checkout other Daisos. The workers here are always friendly to me. Last time I went to buy a few items, someone was buying a ton of stuff so it was obviously gonna take awhile, turned out they now have self checkout now and the cashier redirected me to use that instead of waiting. So efficient now! There was one time I overheard a customer trying to ask for help looking for something but in Mandarin, worker at the time was Japanese and tried to talk to her in English but customer didn't understand. I purchased this item yesterday, my daughter accidentally purchased 2 of the same character. So I went in to exchange for the correct character. At the managers discretion they declined my exchange. I like to support businesses that accommodate their customers. Unfortunately this store was not able to help my very small issue of $2.50. They could have, but they chose not to accept my exchange for the same exact item but with a different color. My weekly spend is $150 however it's time to visit another store! I love Daiso and im shopping from them so often! This one is very busy but the customer service was lackig yesterday. One cashier and it was a huge big long and she didnt call for help! They didnt have self check out they turned the other two screens for customers to help themselves! I didnt like it because there was people behind me super close to me and i didnt feel the privacy! This location is where Burlington used to be. I had bought a curtain rod but it ended up being too small and I went in the next day to ask for an exchange to buy the larger one. Cashier said they couldn't do exchange or returns but said she'd call the manager and ask. She called the manager and the manager named Eunice was very unkind about it and was unwilling to do a simple exchange since the rod I bought was $3.65 and the one I would have bought was around $6. Now they lost a customer and a sale simply because they didn't want to do a one time exchange to help a customer out. Do not like this location and won't be coming back. I've always loved daiso for their cheap and random stuff. There's usually assorted cool stuff that you can get here like Christmas ornaments or picture frames for cheap. It's Daiso, what's not to like about this store! Granted things used to be $1.50, but lately it has creeped up to $1.75 on most items. Hard times these days! This Daiso is kind of hidden. It's next to Burlington's old 2nd floor and a new restaurant called Moxie. It's up a steep ramp, but once you're up there's a huge parking lot. It's never full so there's plenty of spots. I like wandering the aisles here, just so much food stuff and gadgets! I bought chair socks here and small kitchen gadgets. They are pretty durable and of decent quality. Watch for items that have markings of like 200, 300, etc... these are not 1.75. They have a chart around that tells you how much the item really is. There's a huge variety of items. I like how the store is arranged because the aisles are broken up instead of one long aisle in case some people are checking things out you don't have to squeeze between them to get by, just go there other way. You know the Daiso effect? When you first walk into a Daiso and are bewildered by all the neat cute stuff they have and then you fill your shopping basket with a bunch of things? Yeah, I haven't really felt that in years; since most Daisos more or less have the same stock and only differ in whether those exact same items are sold out or not. I was so surprised in seeing items at this location that I have not seen at others. Their San-X Rilakkuma, Sumikko Gurashi, & Jinbe-san items were more plentiful and with more variety than the other 2 that I went to in the area and both the ones near Rowland Heights. I was able to find the Kiiroitori decal sticker that was sold out everywhere else. They also had a heart shape earring holder that I have not seen at other locations either. I was also tempted by their cute collection of Disney earrings (which, also, was something that I did not see at other locations). When I asked for an item that they did not have in stock, one employee was nice enough to say that they would ask their manager to put it an order. Great customer service, great stock and variety of items. I definitely grabbed a bunch of useful, and cute, but not so useful items. I had just finished lunch with my dear friend at Young Dong Tofu in Arcadia. As I was driving away, I noticed this Daiso and thought why not. So I drove over and went in. I'm a sucker for Daiso LOL. I just love Daiso! They have the cutest and funnest things, some useful household stuff, and great snacks as well. I ended up buying a couple soft and cuddly stuff animals for my daughters. I'm a sucker for stuff animals, too LOL. This store was bright, clean, and organized. Staff was friendly and pleasant. Prices can vary depending on the item... it can range from a few to a few more dollars LOL. I can actually spend a few hours here and not get bored. Just a very fun store to walk around and shop at. "Daiso" can mean lots of different things according to whom you ask. For some, it translates to "Large achievement", for others it means "big step", and in Hindi, apparently it means "150." All are appropriate for this review, particularly the Hindi one: everything in the store is about a buck-fifty! Interesting that the store was able to come into the saturated discount market, and do as well as it has. That said, on my recent trip through this joint, I could see why: The store has an eclectic mix of all sorts of stuff you really don't need, but somehow are compelled to put into a basket and walk towards the register. Lest I be accused of some gender specificity, there are all sorts of items in here ranging from housewares, decorations, small tools, toys, clothing, and accessories... But the place seems target marketed more towards young females, at least based on the majority of their wares. Lucky for me, my seven-year-old daughter was with me, so in no time, we had a basket load of crapulent wonders that would soon pry an Andy Jackson from my wallet, and leave a smile on my kids face. Finally, I looked at someone's photo and the caption said that it's on the second floor of Burlington. I located a stairway, climbed up, and got to the entrance. There's a parking lot right in the front. Uhg! I even mentioned to the cashier that I had difficulty finding this store. She agreed that it's even hard to describe the location! Anyway, like any other Daiso, this one has good lighting and air conditioning, is organized, clean, and has cute and useful items. I had never been to this store but it was pretty cool! It's is almost like a 99¢ store but it's Japanese! They have a lot of cool little Knick knacks and most things are 1.50 while other things can be more but they'll have a price tag. I liked how white and bright the store was, it makes it look very clean and organized! I came to Daiso to look for Pooh stuff on a Friday afternoon in February. After I entered, I see the Disney stuff on my right. They have some cute Pooh stuff like treat bags in various sizes, car window cover, ice cube tray and paper box. I also didn't see any masks to cover the mouth and sign says sold out. There's a saying my friends and I have when it comes to Daiso--- "You come for a specific item, you leave with a basketful of items". There's a lot of choices and japanese items and they're mostly $1.50 (unless otherwise marked). Location: The store took over Joann's location and is located above Burlington. You can enter through ramps. Directions: Put your google maps to Burlington Coat Factory, enter that plaza (the plaza has Vons and Starbucks) and then you'll see a ramp in between Vons and Starbucks that leads up to the second floor. There's also a ramp on duarte street. On foot? No problem, go to Burlington's parking structure and there's stairs on both sides on the first floor. Product: Go in with a grain of salt as it is a Japanese 99 cents store (but everything is $1.50 unless otherwise marked). I like buying stationary and I have gone to 4 other Daiso stores, this one always has what I want and more. I haven't had much trouble so far. The only downside is when I wait to buy something for another time, sometimes it's gone and unfortunately I have to wait (I've noticed Daiso rotates it's stock usually every month and they get new shipment of items twice a week, but it's never a guarantee it's an item you want). On the bright side, if I don't see something I want, I just wait a month and I'm greeted with even more variety! Product Types: They have face towels, cosmetics, stationary items, kitchen items and they're all cute! They also have headphones, extension cords, car shades, visors, hats, laundry nets, mini sewing kits, mini screwdriver kits, gloves, face masks, shower caps, scissors, storage boxes, mats, slippers, glass jars, cups and mugs, playing cards, toys, pots for gardening--- there's a lot that can't be fully covered in a single review. I really love this store and it's a shame not a lot of people come because of its location. But if you're looking for something and other Daiso stores don't have it, definitely check this store. My mom and I always come to this store and the employees have been okay to us when we shop. However, today as we were checking out we asked the cashier, Catharine, if my mom could take the cart out since she is handicapped and uses the carts to help her walk when we go to stores. Catharine said we could not take the cart out and I explained to her that my mom needs it to walk and she is parked right in handicap and showed her out the window. My mom told her that I would bring it back in and everything. Catharine still said that we could not take the cart out. What store allows this? There needs to be a better way to accommodate people with disabilities in this store. Please do better. Yes, the Temple City and the Monterey Park branches are much closer to home, but now I find myself not minding the extra drive to the Arcadia Daiso. 4 stars!!!! The Arcadia Daiso is so much bigger with more product selections than the Temple City location and it has very wide shopping aisles, unlike the Monterey Park location. Just like all Daiso stores, you can definitely find just about anything that you need, and most items are priced at $1.50. My favorite item to get at Daiso, however, is not priced at $1.50, but only $1. Just like Trader Joes, there's a pretty good selection of greeting cards for just $1, and I often stock up. The Arcadia Daiso also beats the Temple City and Monterey Park Daiso in terms of parking. There's plenty of parking available, and if you want to park very close to the store, enter on Duarte Road, so that you can access the second level parking area since Daiso is on the second floor. read more

You can find all sorts of things here. From flip flops to stockings to hats and purses and snacks! And everything is dirt cheap, which is pretty cool when you find something you didn't know you needed. The storefront is nothing fancy and just is a door. Yet another Daiso has opened in a predominantly Asian neighborhood. This time, in Arcadia, which actually makes sense. Daiso took over what was JoAnn's Fabrics. The grand opening was on the weekend of 8/16/14. Perhaps the news haven't traveled yet because 1) there's no Yelp review after a week & 2) the place wasn't a madhouse like the others I've been forced to go into, which was refreshing. For those of you who don't know what Daiso is, it's a Japanese discount store that sells most of their items for $1.50, unless otherwise noted. Some are 2 or 3 bucks, but nothing expensive. Everyone will most likely walk out with some crap. I did. Some items they carry include plates, bowls, random household items, fake eyelashes & other stuff for young girls, snacks & drinks (my territory) and misc. storage items. It's not a store I ever NEED to go into, but once in a while, I may drop in just to pick up useless items. Today's score: large ramen bowls, matcha Pocky, cappucino cookies, matcha cookies (yes, I like to eat) and a paper fan.
