We Mart is one of those mom and pop Asian shops that sells cheap products of all categories. You can think of it as being similar to a flee market but with more things, or a Daiso without the aesthetics. They sell so many different, random things here. The entrance looks small, but the inside had many rows. It's worth browsing around to see what hidden gems there are. It's not well organized, but I'm not complaining because the price is good. Some products are of high quality, and you'd have to hunt for it. For example, I got nursing pots and a nice gardening shovel for only $3.27 total. The kitchen section also has essentials that I'd totally buy if I didn't have them already. They currently carry a lot of Christmas products. There is variety, but it is just a tad more expensive than a Dollar Tree. Overall, I recommend browsing through the shop and see if anything happens to catch your attention! read more

Prices are a bit higher than DollarT or now closed 99Cents Store, but there's a convenience factor. They also have office or school supplies, and smaller cleaning supplies, if you don't want the larger sizes at big box stores. Plus, as others mentioned, toiletP during the Pandemic. The price on the composition books were $1.69. when I went to go paid they had charge me $1.99. even though the sticker price was $1.69. by law they have to give you the price that is on the item. Ready to walk off your big meal at Shiki Buffet? Just a few meters down (in the same shopping center) is Temple City's best kept secret, WeMart. Walk in with $20 and walk out with armloads of fun stuff. It's a cross between a hardware store, a Daiso, a 99 Cent Only Store, and a Night Market. Everything from food to tools to plants to well, everything, is there. The prices are low and most of my purchases this weekend were $1, though I did snag an awesome huge bamboo plant in a giant Double Happiness, Double Elephant (that's 4x the luck) planter for $30, the same plant I had seen that morning at Pavillions for $99. Lots of other things you might get lost looking for in Lowe's. My shower drain screen (looks like an inverted lemon squeezer) was looking a little tired, and there it was at WeMart ($1). After we left we were astonished by the cost especially when everything we purchased in our round about figure came out to $20 and we were charge $34 we then compared receipt and noticed she over charged by 20-30 cents each item and also double charged for a few anointing to the difference so when you go there before leaving the register please at least count your items & compare to your receipt. I have observed an overweight Asian employee snap at two different customers in an unsightly fashion. If you work with people, you should be able to control your emotions enough to not lash out at strangers patronizing a business you are employed for. During these trying times, We Mart decided to stock masks. They didn't say anything about the masks (such as the quality or what they were rated for) and for good reason. The masks were fake. They were not effective in filtering out anything. Airborne material passed right through them all. So, we ended up getting scammed into buying masks that didn't even work. You would think you could just return it, but this place refuses to return anything "All sales final", no exchanges; nothing at all. This place is shady as hell. I went with my 4-yo child to the store today to pick up some school supplies. I got in line at the register and one of those Chinese who was so used to cutting line wanted to cut right in front of me. I told her to get in line, but to my horror, the male cashier there who spoke Mandarin told that woman who wanted to cut my line to ring up first. I protested as I not only had a kid with me and needed to get out ASAP, I got in line first. I wanted to reason with that unreasonable guy but he retorted me with some nonsense. When he saw me using my credit card later, he said his register couldn't do credit card. That was a poor excuse as how would he know before ringing me up what kind of payment I was going to use. Horrible experience and exasperating. Chinese who constantly get in the habit of cutting lines and shamelessly defending themselves should be ashamed of themselves for ruining the image of Chinese people. Implied Warranty of Merchantability I like shopping at independent "Ma & Pa" dollar stores because these shops often carry stuff that you might not see at your Dollar Tree or 99 Cent Only stores, plus all the typical things that you'd expect. But, what I don't like is the owners of these businesses often don't treat their customers right, which result in lack of "goodwill". The end result is less repeat customers and them going out of business. Their ignorance of business laws in America is frustrating, so I hope they get the message. The relatively new owners of this business called "WeMart" [probably a clever rip-off of "Kmart" that's in the same shopping center] rubbed me the wrong way. On my very first visit here since their takeover, I witnessed a man trying to return something that he had opened. The cashier [Ma, I presumed] rebuffed his attempt and loudly pointed out that they have a No Refund, No Return, No Exchange store policy. This guy simply changed his mind on something he bought [there was nothing wrong with it] and foolishly thought he could get his money back. Their store's reasons included, "We don't make a lot of money on that item. You opened it, now we can't resell it. We're just a dollar store, what did you expect?" I agreed with the store's position on this particular case and told them so. I bought an item that included a zip-tie cutter and an assortment of small zip or cable ties for $1.49. [That's a pretty good price.] When I opened it at home, the cutter didn't cut thru the zip ties, therefore, making it useless to me. I returned to the store a few days later with my store receipt. I demonstrated to "Ma" that the item they sold doesn't work. Ma tried for herself and couldn't disagree with me. However, rather than recognizing a legal concept of business law known as the "Implied Warranty of Merchantability", she told me something incredulous [to avoid giving me a refund or exchange]. She said, "If the cutter doesn't work, then use something else." That's like telling a customer who bought a coffee mug from them that leaks, to drink out of something else if you're thirsty. The law says if an item is sold, used for its intended purpose [that's the contract], and doesn't work [the breach of the contract], then the seller needs to make it right. Fix it, replace it, or refund the buyer their purchase price. The seller cannot rely on some store policy to deny the buyer of their contractual rights. Our Country and economy needs small businesses to flourish. It's too bad that our government doesn't require new business owners to take and pass a course in business law, before they issue licenses. I was granted permission to exchange the item for something else, but didn't get an apology [for the inconvenience] and I didn't appreciate the crappy attitude. read more
