And over the last couple months they've done a complete remodel of the store, and they've made it even more of a magical place. Everything is beautiful, spacious, and organized. The makeup section looks as fancy as an Ulta store. All of the clothes sections have much more convenient layouts. Also, the new fitting room is one of the fanciest fitting rooms I've seen in my whole life. AND IT HAS A NURSING ROOM & A FAMILY FITTING ROOM. If these things somehow weren't enough to solidify this place as a favorite of moms like me, DON'T FRET- they also have STARBUCKS now, and I found out this week that I can use my REDcard debit card there too so I can get the 5% off my coffee every time!! I am a lifetime Crystal Lake resident, with a lot of extended family in this area, and we all agree that this place is amazing. The employees are great; they are kind and helpful, and they do their absolute best to help you in whatever way they can.

First of all I literally spend so much money at target everyday and do drive-up almost everyday or every other!! It's so convenient for me having 3 young children to do drive-up!! I give them tons of business. Most of the Drive-up employees know me, since I am a regular. I love them all!!! This employee I had to deal with today I'm not sure his name!?! He is a short Spanish guy, seemed a little younger maybe in his 20's not really sure he may even be older. This might be his first job!?! He was so rude to me and my family that I literally wanted to return my drive-up items and never place an order or shop here again!! Before he came up to my car, he was staring at me, making a really mean face at me. Then he makes me roll down my window to tell me that I can't park in the drive-up because he thought I didn't have a drive-up order!?! Huh, I am confused. I did have a Drive-up order. This employee was so MAD started yelling at us, and wouldn't stop because my sweet husband ran to the front of the store to grab a pumpkin for our 5-year-old son while I was waiting for my drive-up order, which takes a good 5-7 mins to get. Anyway, my husband quickly grabbed a pumpkin outside the store , but since he left our car and had a cart for a pumpkin, that is not allowed. He yelled at us and mocked us like we were kids, then he proceeded to do a weird hand motion in front of my young children-- some type of sign with his hands. Not sure what that was!?! Real nice employee you guys have. Please watch out for this person; he seems a little too angry to be working at a nice family store I've shopped at since I was little and now I'm 40. My children were scared and knew something felt off. I probably will never be back to Target in Crystal Lake, which is right by my house, again because he was so rude to me and my family. He should not be putting up signs and mocking customers either; that is just wrong. This is not okay, and I hope he is at least talked to about this or moved to a different department in the store!! I will probably never go to Crystal Lake Target again! I'm sad and very upset that I had to deal with this today!!

This review is strictly based on the interaction I had with associate Mike in the produce dept…read moretoday 5/18/21. Most visits to Walmart are unremarkable. By that I mean that there is never anything impressive about the normal visit. You can normally see employees tasking their freight, or taking amongst each other, or sometimes helping customers. The one thing I'm about 99% sure of is that if they're busy helping a customer, it's because that customer approached them and not the other way around. Not for me today though, and not even because I had that lost look on my face. No. Today was different. Today, Mike, was working in the produce area. He was putting fruit out, ANNNND he was paying attention to his surroundings- the customers in his area. He was greeting all of us!! And though you couldn't see behind the mask upon his face, you just knew there was a huge smile on his face. It was such a refreshing change from the usual visits I experience. I think we can all attest that the "norm/average" Walmart worker- the ones who don't lift their head up to even look at you, much less say hello- they're a dime a dozen. Not just at Walmart, but in retail in general. Workers like Mike don't come along too often. Workers that exceed the expectations of customers are worth their weight in gold nowadays. Mike was going above and beyond what has sadly become the now accepted norm, non-interaction due to task or unfriendly/uncaring associates, just by interacting with the people around himself. By being considerate and asking if he could help anyone find anything. Did we need this, or that.... and in a charismatic jovial way. It was truly a delight!!!!! After my short interaction I started to walk away. I'm not sure what it was, but I felt compelled to go back and talk with this guy. I told him I thought he was great!! To never change the way he is with his customers. He's truly a rarity these days. I asked if I could take his picture and post it in a review, and he said I could. Walmart in Crystal Lake, Il.- you should be having this guy train all of your employees on customer service. He was the only employee out of the 7 I ran across during my visit that said hi, how are you today. Can I help you find anything? There was only one more out of the 7 that even spoke, and that was the gal saying "oh excuse me- I'm sorry" after she had crossed back and forth past me twice already. The other 5 were too busy in what they were doing to notice anyone around them, or they didn't care. Thank you, Mike, for the great customer service!! Keep up the great job that you're doing.

This is a terrible Walmart don't waste your time!! This Walmart can't keep anything in stock and…read morethe employees are rude, stink of body odor, and they absolutely don't know what they're doing (not trained properly). I needed an employee to scan there badge during self checkout due to random checks or something and the employee responded with "I don't know how to do that"...save yourself time and grief by driving to the Algonquin location because Algonquin has more items with a helpful and friendly staff compared to this garbage fire crystal lake location. Absolutely disgusted by this Walmart!!

I love this Home Goods location! I can never stop in without looking at every aisle. They restock…read moremultiple times a week, so each time you go, you will ALWAYS see new things. I think it's the reason why it's an addition to many! You'll never get bored of looking at the same things over and over. This location has a great selection of drinking glasses, wine glasses, glass pitchers, crystal and glass bowls, etc. Sometimes you can find hidden gems like Rogaska, Waterford, Mikasa, Vera Wang, Wedgewood, etc. I've found some beautiful pieces! Fitz and Floyd is a brand that has been popping up a lot lately. They always have nice dishes and odds and ends, but if you are looking for large sets of dishes, you may not find them. Plates, bowls and such are sold individually, so you may get lucky to be able to make a set, but you may not. If you love entertaining, you will find unique servers, trays, cake plates, cheese platters and such at great prices. They always have cute mugs too. The selection of pots and pans is not too bad. Sometimes you can find a cast iron Dutch oven for $39.99 and up, which is a great deal. Definitely buy all of your bakeware here. You can't beat their prices on cake, bread and cupcake pans, cooling racks and kitchen tools. All are good brands such as Cuisinart, Nordikware, Kitchenaid, etc. Tools I see here are about half the price they sell for at Target for the same exact items. Lately I've been seeing tons of Le Cruset and All Clad too! Nice selection of table linens - I often see Kim Seybert, which are usually beautiful beaded pieces. The selection of bath towels are usually a hit or miss, as stock moves quickly. If you see a beautiful set, buy them! They most likely won't be there next time. I've purchased most of my towels from here with brands such as Calvin Klein, Tahari, Ralph Lauren and Hotel Collection. I've found some really beautiful hand towels from here. Skip the Cynthia Rowley towels. The quality isn't the best. Comforters are a hit or miss. I often buy bed sheets from here, but the colors/selection is pretty basic. If you want solid, neutral sheets, you'll find them. But you won't find any beautiful patterned sheets. Nice selection of photo frames, wall decor and mirrors. Again, these items can be hit or miss as stock moves FAST and some days there is more than others. Lamp selection is just OK. Furniture selection is OK. I always find nice decorative pillows here that it has become an obsession of mine. They always have a great selection of area rugs. I bought three 8 x 10 rugs for under $400 each and I love them! Staff is always helpful loading large items in my car. Oh! Candles always seem to find their way in my cart too. Don't waste your money on candles any where else other than Home Goods. They are cheaper than anywhere else. I like the soy candles. My only complaint which applies to all Home Goods/TJMaxx and Marshall's stores is how hard they push their credit cards. It has become a big annoyance each time I'm rung up to be alerted about their credit card to the point where it can be uncomfortable. I think they are too over the top.

I recommend Home Goods overall but NOT the Algonquin location. It is always a mess and makes for an…read moreunpleasant shopping experience.
