This is a terrible Walmart don't waste your time!! This Walmart can't keep anything in stock and the employees are rude, stink of body odor, and they absolutely don't know what they're doing (not trained properly). I needed an employee to scan there badge during self checkout due to random checks or something and the employee responded with "I don't know how to do that"...save yourself time and grief by driving to the Algonquin location because Algonquin has more items with a helpful and friendly staff compared to this garbage fire crystal lake location. Walmart is the worst when it comes to pickup orders. The ABSOLUTE WORSE! It doesn't matter if the parking spots are full or empty... you wait. There must've been 12 cars in the lot the day I went. I waited for 17 mins to get my stuff. I get it, it's busy. What I don't get is for the first 10-12 minutes, there were only 3 runners and 2 of them were working on the same order. It literally took them nearly 5 minutes to load a car!! When they were finally done with the 1 car and returned to the back, they came out together but each was doing their own order and loading 2 different cars. They need to check out how Target does it because I have NEVER waited 17 mins to get my order over there. read more

Walmart is Walmart, just about anywhere you go. Big store, cheap stuff, and sometimes great deals. Do you feel good about shopping here? No. It'll take more than a heartwarming commercial for that. You'd need to commit to a life of lies. But do you like saving money? Your a liar if you don't. What I like most here, however, is the video game section, which, for reasons I MUST have explained to me, still features a Wii and DS game. Or maybe I don't. Ordered new tires through the website and made an appointment for installation a week later. When I arrived for my appointment I was told everyone was on lunch break and couldn't get to my car for about an hour or two ( already off to a bad start). Then after waiting close to two hours my car is finally getting worked on, and what happens of course they snap the top of one of the bolts off my car and proceed to tell me it's my fault and they can't change my tires anymore. So basically I wasted 4 hours of my day and accomplished nothing, don't go here. read more

Product showed in stock on the website. I called to verify as it is a rare item to find and was told it is in stock. Drove 45 minutes to the store and could not locate it. Found the store manager who told me they will only sell it at a special event they hold every month and a half. A staff is only as good as the manager who leads them. Obviously this one is not good. Rather than service a customer who took the time to call ahead and not sell them a product they have in the store and let them leave extremely unsatisfied is just extremely poor customer service. Corporate will also hear about the manager's inability to service there customers. read more

Honestly if you have other options for pharmaceuticals definitely go somewhere else. Unhelpful and rude staff make waiting in the long line almost unbearable. If you make it to the register and you're not ready they'll send you to the back of the line on a power trip. Good luck if you choose this pharmacy. In the Bay Area there aren't enough Walmart near the peninsula. So when I'm in Chicago I'm there often . Love that they have a whole lot of choices. Walmart employees at this place was very friendly and helpful. Aisles are clean and it seems like they always make sure shelves are fully stocked. They have a Walmart that open 24/7. This review is strictly based on the interaction I had with associate Mike in the produce dept today 5/18/21. Most visits to Walmart are unremarkable. By that I mean that there is never anything impressive about the normal visit. You can normally see employees tasking their freight, or taking amongst each other, or sometimes helping customers. The one thing I'm about 99% sure of is that if they're busy helping a customer, it's because that customer approached them and not the other way around. Not for me today though, and not even because I had that lost look on my face. No. Today was different. Today, Mike, was working in the produce area. He was putting fruit out, ANNNND he was paying attention to his surroundings- the customers in his area. He was greeting all of us!! And though you couldn't see behind the mask upon his face, you just knew there was a huge smile on his face. It was such a refreshing change from the usual visits I experience. I think we can all attest that the "norm/average" Walmart worker- the ones who don't lift their head up to even look at you, much less say hello- they're a dime a dozen. Not just at Walmart, but in retail in general. Workers like Mike don't come along too often. Workers that exceed the expectations of customers are worth their weight in gold nowadays. Mike was going above and beyond what has sadly become the now accepted norm, non-interaction due to task or unfriendly/uncaring associates, just by interacting with the people around himself. By being considerate and asking if he could help anyone find anything. Did we need this, or that.... and in a charismatic jovial way. It was truly a delight!!!!! After my short interaction I started to walk away. I'm not sure what it was, but I felt compelled to go back and talk with this guy. I told him I thought he was great!! To never change the way he is with his customers. He's truly a rarity these days. I asked if I could take his picture and post it in a review, and he said I could. Walmart in Crystal Lake, Il.- you should be having this guy train all of your employees on customer service. He was the only employee out of the 7 I ran across during my visit that said hi, how are you today. Can I help you find anything? There was only one more out of the 7 that even spoke, and that was the gal saying "oh excuse me- I'm sorry" after she had crossed back and forth past me twice already. The other 5 were too busy in what they were doing to notice anyone around them, or they didn't care. Thank you, Mike, for the great customer service!! I'd like to start off by saying that I am slightly autistic, today I went to Walmart and got on a disabled cart like I always do, the lady who walked in behind me immediately started following me, about 5 minutes later she shoved her cart into me and said "you aren't disabled, you don't need the cart" and then followed me around screaming about how I'm not disabled. After that a worker approached me and asked me to either put the cart back or leave the store, I asked if I could have a conversation with her about why I needed to put the cart back if I'm disabled, and she threated to call the police on me for arguing with her. I finished shopping and then left the store all while being harassed and followed by the same customer from the beginning. Will not be returning until this post is acknowledged read more

Overall this store is great, but AVOID the Auto Center. Especially with the short hair women who rudely stands there getting paid to just aggressively out loud complain about her PERSONAL relationships while customers are standing around without even being greeted. After a solid 5 minute ranting she finally acknowledges me rudely and unwelcoming to finally let me know they aren't even doing oil changes or anything like that. Only emergency fixes like "battery changes" cause they were really busy..... there wasn't a single car in the shop with 5 mechanics hanging out just chit chatting. Welp, hopefully your relationship works out cause I don't understand how you have a job in customer service. read more

I had to update my rating, because the experience here has been above average for Wal-Mart and the team deserves the recognition. As mentioned in the prior review, I typically shop at the Algonquin Wal-Mart, because of its cleanliness and atmosphere. I think I may be switching to this location, because it's just a hair closer and it has the same environment and cleanliness. In addition, this location has self checkout, which is perfect for those late night errand stops. I am usually a patient person, but at night at Algonquin there is only one or two cashiers open. Lastly, I've done two store pickups for online orders and the process has been quick and friendly both times! This is my new favorite! read more

Do not EVER order online from here. They have no managers on-site, the employees don't answer phones in any department, and the only number you can call will outsource you to a bare minimum English speaking answering agent. I ordered items from this location at 2pm on a Saturday, and was told my order would arrive by 8pm. Didn't happen.....what's strange is that the driver took the items to deliver them to me but just returned them right as he/she was leaving. I was then told that my things would be here in the morning....then call after call, no show......who knows what's going on in that store? read more

I ordered a two person patio glider and had it sent to my home, but there was no way I could put it together. I spoke with an assembler, Mason, at the Crystal Lake store, and I was told to bring it into them this morning. I brought the box with all the pieces to the store. Tony, one of the cart handlers, helped Mason transfer it into the store to be assembled. After only a half-hour I received a call that my item was ready. Mason did a fabulous job putting it together, and Tony was again a great help in loading the glider into my car! Additionally, they once put together a bedroom set for me that I had ordered online. Mason, Tony, the other assemblers, and Walmart assistance employees are the epitome of customer service and do their job with great care, attention to detail, and friendliness!! They should be commended! This is what brings customers back! And they are appreciated!! Thank you all!! read more

This Walmart is horrible! I have an ESA With me and they said pets are not allowed. It doesn't make sense if I can bring my ESA EVERYWHERE SUCH AS RESTAURANTS ETC but can't take it to Walmart? I've never had an issue with this place doing normal shopping. But then I bought tires.... I found a great deal online and had them shipped to store. Easy enough. The price for mounting & balancing was even fantastic. But they do NOT do appointments. It is First come-First serve. Being someone who has a 9-5 M-F job, that does not work. Figured I'd show up on Sat at 7am when they open. There were only 3 people ahead of me when I got there. 2 PEOPLE. It took them 5 hours to install my tires. Yes. 5 hours. No joke. It was the worst wait I have ever had to be a part of. So here's my suggestion to anyone in the future looking to get any tire service at Walmart: Drop it off. Have someone take you there and pick the damn thing up later because if your not the first person through the door, your life is going to be miserable waiting there. The guy who was behind me had to wait even longer, probably 6-7 hrs total. They need to start doing appointments. Period. read more

Bought tires online and Walmart does the install. Told it is a 1.5 hour process. That is fine. We are now almost 2 hours in the process with a new estimate of 30 more minutes. They take no account for others work schedules or times. If it takes over 2 hours to install tires, be up front with people so that people can plan their day. While I am waiting, every person that comes in for tires is told it will take us 1.5 hours. I also heard the upsell on everyone coming in for other services like oil changes. It will be interesting to see if my tires are installed and balanced properly. Only time will tell here. read more

Brought my car into the auto center for an oil change,they said it would be a 4 hour wait. No problem we planned on leaving it there for a bit anyway. Got a call later saying they had a problem with the drain plug, they said the previous place that changed my oil stripped the plug???? Really they will not fix what they screwed up??? If the previous shop did it the car would have leaked oil, it never did. They said they would pay for the tow to a shop of my choice but would not reimburse me for the repair. This is a case of a tech messing up and not owning up to it. read more

Horrible place to work! They hire a 16 year old, then fire him 2 months in because he got 7 points for absences! Mind you, he put on his application AND told the person that interviewed him. When he put in the days off request, he even said they were for track meets! He kept asking his lead Cassandra about it and told her he is still getting points for his track meets. She would just say she would talk to his coach Tom. They told him it was because corporate was strict and it's their policy, You guys lied and are fake! You missed out on a hard working kid, someone that enjoyed his job and most of the people he worked with! If you are going to hire a high school student, and they tell they have after school obligations and you say it's fine, don't lie and honor that request! I would never refer anyone here ever again! The store is absolutely horrible. I am amazed that it is still in business. It is always understaffed not only in the departments, but also with the cash registers. I came here for the pharmacy today, to pick up a prescription for a relative. The prescription was turned in over 24 hours ago. It is 2:45 PM and they said it'll be another 30 minutes until it's ready. This pharmacy, and the whole store in general is a picture of incompetence. I am embarrassed that the store is actually in Crystal Lake. If I did not have to come to the pharmacy or the store on behalf of somebody else, I would never, ever come here. read more

Boy is this place...large. My kids scream when I tell them they can't go in the "game room". I have stopped by to look at movies and PS3/Wii games. The prices on movies are decent once in a while. The prices on the video games are about the same as anywhere else. Usually I wind up going to the Game Stop which is in the same shopping center for games. Another time we stopped in here looking for flip flops and they had a decent collection of cheap ones. There is a "Red Box" here where you can check out movies for $1 a night. Red Box is always a draw for me. read more

Went here to get a few things and pressed the cash back button for 100.00. It only gave me 20.00 without any notification. Jessie decided to not answer my question as to why it was going to rip me off without anybody doing anything about it. I asked again and she decided to give me an unbelievable attitude when questioned. How often does this happen??? Attitude on top of it. Just spoke to Chris who did handle the situation properly- nice job Chris. The prices are good. But, they seem to always be out of essential items and have a lot of empty shelves... often! During my last two visits they had empty shelves with no bottled water, they were out of my contact lens solution and they were out of whitening toothpaste. I'm not talking about random crazy brands... I'm talking about everyday items you expect every Wal-Mart to have. They have plenty of self check outs and a good Subway. They do need more natural/dairy free products. They are starting to get more ice creams and non-dairy milks that are carried in stores closer to Chicago and in other more progressive markets. I appreciate that. I'd like to see more though! Overall, my only major complaint is the constant running out of products they should be overstocked with. read more
